Hey there, as you can see in the picture, one of my cpu cores is 10° higher temperature than other cores, i did a stress test cpu using cpu z and in task manager every logical processors were at 100% usage, i checked temperature using speccy, at first i thought the problem is with speccy but after a while my conclusion was that, no speccy was running fine and it was indeed a problem with my cpu and one core(Core #1) is 10° hotter.

I've only really experienced it on Valorant, being its the game I play most, but it happened once on Destiny 2. Completely random, whether its alt tabbing, closing, or starting up Valorant, my PC monitor will freeze, mouse still works, audio on discord still works, but I cant click anything, and I have to hard reset my PC. It happens quite frequently, but not very consistently and I cant replicate it, so it's hard to figure out why its happening. Im thinking its CPU based, but like I said, hard to test when its completely random. I was hoping someone would know what is causing it based off of the type of freezing it is, (mouse and audio works, just cant click anything). Please help this has been bothering me for months! I recently bought a second-hand r9 390x, it was listed as "Defective, only boots in safemode" but I thought it was just a driver issue. Yet, when I tried installing newer drivers, it wouldn't boot. When I tried booting the system with a second GPU, I got into windows without any problem, but the R9 wasn't detected in device manager. Does anybody know how to fix this issue? We're talking about my old Motherboard (ASUS) + CPU (i7 3770)m which I wanted to give to a friend to upgrade their PC from an just as old Dual Core. Problem was, that the Case that their PC is currently in is about 20 years old and only 2 of the 5 or 6 wires coming from the case were labelled. One USB cable was clearly marked, so was the Audio, then there was another with the same type of plug to USB, but with a gray cable, and another, mirrored USB looking plug with a ton of random cables in it. The case being so old, the entire top was occupied with a bunch of trays for Diskettes, CD Drivebays etc, so I couldnt see where the cables are coming from. Enough excuses, I tried all the cables which I couldnt not identify on the front panel headers, to be finally able to turn on the PC, as none of them seemed to fit at all. (Because ASUS has a differently front panel header layout than Acer apparently.) Except, of course, the USB plug with the gray cable, which fit on the header reasonably well, and while I was kinda sure it wasn't the correct one and that it was more than likely USB, I tried it anyways. Turning on the PSU, the PC immediately started, without me pressing the button, went into a little bit of a boot cycle, sometimes turned off, stayed on one time entirely. This didn't worry me cuz I needed to check the RAM and no hard drives were connected either. And I was able to replicate this behaviour at the time. The next day, I sat down to find the proper Power Switch Cable, and I did, dismantling the weird plug. But ever since then I am unable to start the PC. Finally giving up I took the motherboard back home again to try in my old case where it ran in before, to test again, but once again, nothing and I don't really know what to do. So I come to seek help from the collective intelligence of people who probably know more about this stuff than me, if you have any tips for me to fix it or know what might've happened. TL:DR; Could I have fried the board and/or CPU, by plugging in a USB Plug into the front panel headers? And if yes/no, what would you recommend me to maybe fix it? Thanks so much!

Hi guys, so I wanted to see if there are any experienced users with this kind of problem or know of a way to fix it. So for a while I had been thinking of upgrading my laptop and just recently bought an internal ssd for it. Given that I live in a small town and there is no one who deals in fixing or upgrading computer I thought of doing it myself even though I never done this. I was fairly confident in not breaking my computer at least and had looked at videos on how to install the ssd for my specific laptop. I unplugged the battery and cleaned the board with isopropyl alcohol and an electronics duster. I had unscrewed the battery from its place and cleaned around it and screwed it back in place, I then installed the ssd and plugged the battery back. I looked around to see if I was missing anything or had damaged something and didn't see anything irregular. I screwed the bottom back in place and felt like I did a good job for it be my first time, but when I tried to turn it back on it wouldn't. My first thought was to bring the charger and connect it maybe the battery needed to charge, but the light that indicates that the computer is charging doesn't turn on. I also unplugged the battery and only connected the charger and it didn't turn on as well. I also noticed that one of the small chips in the motherboard near the charging port got really hot. I have come to this place in search of help and see if anyone could give me any tips on what could be the problem or what I could do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a new Samsung m.2 980 NVME ssd however after using crystalbenchmark its running at 1,700's even thought the advertised speed is 3,500 and even worse after benchmarking it in Samsung magician its currently running at 1,000 - 1,100 MB/s. I removed all of HDD and moved it on a docker leaving only this one ssd to maximize its speed. My motherboard only has 2 m.2 slot one in between the motherboard and GPU and one infront of Digital LED and RGBW pin headers and I placed it on the one between the motherboard and GPU. I'm pretty sure it has to do with it sharing lanes with something but I just can't figure it out. I picked up a Rival 3 mouse wired a few months back. A few days ago it started doing whats shown in the video attached. It's not limited to the Windows Settings app either, it happens in the start menu too and it almost keeps me from turning off my computer. I've reinstalled mouse drivers and the Steel Series software but nothing seems to work. Its such a bizarre thing that I don't know what to search for so I'm asking here. 373313806_20230120_19253931.mp4

Roommate's PC was running the other night. She was playing overwatch and on discord call with friends. She got the blue screen of death mid match and she restarted her computer and it booted up fine and did it for a second and third time. The fourth time it booted it booted with no display. We unplugged it let it sit and it turned on display and everything. It again crashed the sixth time and restarted fine and ran well for over an hour. The seventh time it crashed the display hasn't come on since after multiple hours of it being unplugged and trying multiple ports and monitors. We plugged in the main hard drive to another pc and it seemed to of worked booting and loading multiple programs. We're not sure what would be the next step.

Hi, hope everyone is doing well. I have just took a step back from my new build, which after struggling to put together, won't power up. Motherboard: B450 Aorus Elite v2 CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x GPU: GTX 970 (waiting for 4060) CPU Cooler: Kraken X63 RAM: CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Storage: WD Black SN770 2TB PSU: RM650x Case: NZXT H510 Flow Apologies if I've missed something, I'm kinda mentally spent after this. So, flicking the PSU switch makes the board's lighting flash for a split second then nothing. Tried taking out the bottom headers, panel connections barring the USB for the AIO and removed the GPU. Still nothing. I'm posting this as a channel of advice, if you guys know anything about this setup that pcpartpicker's compatibility checker didn't spot then please let me know, I am aware of the compatibility issue regarding the firmware of the board and 5000 series CPUs but I am under the assumption that the system will still post to accept the USB containing the new firmware? Any and all advice is appreciated, if it saves me hours/days of troubleshooting then bonus! Any information I left out by mistake, I would happy provide on request.

So I just got a new blue yeti today and was in discord for several hours talking just fine, but for some reason when I tried to play some overwatch with some friends, the mic just completely stops working. I have it enabled and it is the only mic connected. Ive tried reinstalling drivers, and disabling overwatch voice chat. I know how weird this sounds and Im insanely confused. If anyone knows something that may help Id greatly appreciate it

I have this weird problem with my PC that whenever I fully shutdown my system, and let the PC rest, when I turn it back on, the display will direct to the onboard graphics instead of my GPU. So I'd have to shutdown the PC again, unplug>replug the display port cable from either the monitor or from the GPU, then it'd start working normally. I use a Display Port instead of HDMI. never tried if issue will be fixed if I swapped to hdmi. pretty sure that's not what's causing the issue so I haven't bothered doing it yet. Reconnecting the cables while the PC is running does not change the display from onboard to dedicated gpu. I really have to turn it off first. This issue does not happen if you just shut the pc down for a few minutes. It happens only when you let it rest for a few hours. Everything runs normally unless I don't unplug and replug the cable before turning it on. extra notes: Disabling the onboard graphics on the bios doesn't solve it. All the drivers are updated and installed. I've already done DDU and other common GPU Driver related troubleshooting, old driver version > latest driver version, etc. I thoroughly clean the PC and its components and ports at least twice a year. This issue has been happening since 2020. been letting it slide doing the ritual of unplug replug for 2 years now. built it on 2019. Hello there, Ive been on a downward spiral the past few days as i seem to have bunged something up with my PC. I built it 2 weeks ago and its been working fine, until one day i decided to go into bios and turn on secure boot (a game required me to do so) as well as trying to enable an XMP profile that was built into BIOS. After clicking save and exit, my PC restarted, the fans are spinning and the leds on my MB and GPU are on but i was getting no signal on either of my monitors, and my keyboard and mice were not working either. I read somewhere this is most likely due to the XMP, and that i had to revert BIOS to the factory settings, but ultimately i have no clue Here are the things i tried so far: Trying different monitors and peripherals (they work perfectly on other devices) turning the pc on with no monitors or peripherals lugged in, Touching the two pins of the CLR_CMOS jumper with a screwdriver (after having turned everything off and holding the power button to get rid of anything leftover), same with taking out the MB battery for 5 or so minutes and putting it back in, i disassembled everything and put it back together, tried starting with only one stick of RAM installed as well. Tried changing the MB battery too. Also tried plugging in a usb with installation media with windows to see if it would detect it but no luck. I have yet to be able to even get into bios since the problems started. I have tried contacting repair shops in my area but all of the ones i contacted so far said this problem is beyond them for some reason. If you know what could have happened and how i could try and fix it, id love to hear it, because im at my wits end. So randomly, with no rhyme or reason, my cpu will slow down to 400 mhz, and my fans will ramp up really loudly, and it will stay like that until I restart my laptop ( not using the restart function in the start menu, but literally hard resetting it by holding down the power button, which I find really odd). I thought it was malware, but after hours of searching and using various anti malware programs, no dice. I thought it was a driver or update issue, so I reinstalled literally all my drivers. no dice. HP support has been no help either. Right now, all the info I know about this issue is that, when this starts, my integrated Radeon Graphics spike to like, 478k Volts of power usage (this is not an exaggeration, but there's obviously an incorrect reading) Has anybody else experienced this issue or know how to fix it? I've spent more hours of my life than I'd like to admit searching for a solution to this issue. I think it's also important to note that this only started occurring after uninstalling windows in favor of linux, then switching back to windows over compatibility issues.

Last month I noticed high CPU temps, up to 96 on higher loads. I decided to change put new thermal paste, cleaned the cpu plate and cpu water cooler plate with alcohol and then used a clean dry wipe to make sure there is no moisture. The temperatures were fine for a few days, then it started hitting high 90's again. But everytime I applied new paste it was fine for a few days. Then I decided to get the thermal grizzly conductonaut. I was careful enough to put on just enough without it spilling and made sure to really spread it over the entire area. The temps were great until today, where it started hitting up to 96 again. Apart from buying a new cpu or cooler I am not sure what the problem is. Checking the pump RPM on HWMonitor it says 1950 consitently, using CPU-Z to stress the cpu it reaches around 94° degrees, feeling the pipes with my fingers, one pipe does get noticeably warmer than the other. I had Core Temps open every day after applying the paste. It started out fine with around 40 to 50 on average, and the highest temperature kept rising every day by a few degrees until it hit the high 90's. The cooler has a spring around the screw to make sure I don't tighten it too much, I tried tightening it as much as it let me, then I tried a little less, but they all yield the same results after a few days. Hello, i have a asrock a320-hdv r4 am4 motherboard. Its tweaking and making no sense, recently swapped out my cpu and my rear motherboard usb 3.0 ports dont work. They worked fine before the swap. Here is the kicker, the 3.0 ports dont work in the bios at all, execept for supplying power to leds. While the usb 2.0 ports work fine. if i somehow damaged the board i would expect it to also make the 2.0 ports stop working but they work fine. one note: it seems like windows knows it there but when i mess with it by following some steps i found online saying to disable then reenable amd usb 3.10 eXtesible host controller, i get spammed with Usb power surge, while nothing is plugged in. Ive tried; updating bios, updating windows, removing ram, unplugging power supply and pressing power and waiting, using different usb3.0 ports, using different usb devices, and nothing. If anyone has an answer to this i will lobe you!

I'm not sure if this is to be changed from the monitor's settings or from the PC. Is it normal that monitor audio doesn't work if the display goes to sleep (power saving mode)?

Hello LTT Forums, I purchased a Libre Renegade recently and have been trying to get Ubuntu running on it. Currently I have a freshly flashed 64 GB Sandisk SD card, a 5V---2.5 amp power supply, and absolutely no signal coming from the device. I have tried a bag of different OS options, flashing softwares, and methods of pulling out my hair. I am about four more attempts away from being bald. Currently the two lights (one green and one red) are on. Neither light blinks to show any kind of status. It has never sent an HDMI signal to my monitor. Does anyone have an idea on what to do here? Am I crazy for not just forking over a scalped fortune for a Raspberry PI? My future goal is to have this be a Steam Remote play client for my living room TV.

I have a HP Pavilion x360 2 in 1 14 inch laptop PRODUCT NO. - 3W295PA#ACJ The touchpad doesn't response and the cursor doesn't show up sometimes after cold boot, and sometimes while using the laptop it randomly stops working but when I go into BIOS and go to system diagnostics, run touchpad test it appears, it even appears as soon as I go into BIOS. The laptop is out of warranty and due to holiday in INDIA the customer support is also not accessible for a couple of days. I am guessing it is something to do with Windows 11. Please send cavalry to help meh. Thx in advance.

I posted about 2 days ago here about a dead PSU, and now my games are almost crashing my PC after getting a new PSU, and are making other apps crash and make Youtube videos stop working, and a bit after the game crashes, what could be the issue, since it feels like something was damaged in the GPU when my old PSU died, since youtube videos use GPU decoding, any and all replies are appreciated. I was installing a hard disk into my PC, and was formatting it while trying to close the side panel for cables, after trying to close it I moved to cables a bit and the display goes black, I try to shut it off by holding the power switch, it does nothing and I turn it off by using the switch on the PSU, I'm not sure what the problem might be, but it seems the PSU's LED's aren't working anymore, but the PC can still turn on, I need some suggestions at what I sould do. GPU and PSU should be lit up with LED's. Specs: Palit RTX 3060 Ti, Ryzen 5 1600, HyperX Fury 2x8GB 3200MHz, Gigabyte B450M DS3H V2, and some off brand PSU (I bought a pre built PC, don't judge me)
