My custom built PC I built back in April of 2020 and have never had issues. Recently, my PC, after I shut it down myself, often won't power back on. Unplugging the PC with the PSU turned off for 15-30mins, then plugging it in for 15-20mins, then turning the PSU on for 5-10 minutes tends to give the highest likely hood of the PC turning on, I'd say about 10% chance of fully powering on. But what tends to happen is after pressing the power button fans begin to turn on my my RGB comes on for a split second before powering off. I should also note a red debug light pops up on the mobo as well, but I'm not sure what it signifies. The times when I can get power I have no issues in games and I haven't had crashes or anything, nor does it power off on its own. I don't plug into a surge protector if that's something to note, in northern Canada where it can be fairly cold, though I never have had issues up until now, the PC barely ever even crashed.. So, all that leads me to believe it's a PSU issue, with my CoolerMaster MWE Gold 650w. Would this situation likely be a PSU issue or perhaps something else, just looking for confirmation and tips to fix it, thanks! (Attached is a video showing what happens, on YT to avoid compressing to post it directly here: ) Checked so far: Reseated RAM Checked all power cables were secure When I did get it to run performance was fine with no overheating on GPU or CPU (Halo Infinite Max Settings 1080p unlocked FPS, temps looked normal) Lightly shaking the case it doesn't sound like anything is loose that could be causing a short. Powering down the pc via power button and windows shut down after getting it back on separate times. Plugging into multiple outlets (phone charger works in every one I've tried) Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 (Overclocked to 4Ghz) CoolerMaster Hyper 212 RGB Gigabyte 5700XT MSI B450 Tomahawk Max 2x8GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB RAM 3200mhz DDR4 1TB Samsung QVO Sata SSD (OS Drive) Old 660GB HDD CoolerMaster MWE Gold 650w (PSU in question) Fractal Design Meshify C Extra CoolerMaster Sickleflow fan Windows 10 OS (Everything except the sickeflow fan and ancient HDD are still in warranty period, though it depends how annoyed the companies for warranty sticker's being removed because they're on the damm heatsink)

I have been having quite a few issues with the Wave XLR anywhere from crackling audio to not outputting audio at all. After sending various logs etc to corsair support, it is suspected that the hub I currently have it connected to is being overloaded, I have also explained that I have tried connecting it directly to the mobo in its own "group" of USB ports to try and avoid overloading the controller. Is there anything I can get that that will stop this, I they have suggested a separate powered USB hub, however I dont really want another hub off of my motherboard if I can help it. Not sure if there is a PCI-e expansion card or something that could be suitable?

Hey guys, this is my pc build that I’ve recently built, I was wondering if someone could give me some criticism or possible future upgrades. Ryzen 5 5600x Nzxt Kraken x53 Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master Geforce RTX 3090 FE 2x G.Skill 16gb 3600mhz cl16 Samsung 980 pro m.2 ssd Seagate Barracuda 2tb Nzxt c750 80+ gold psu FYI, I was able to get the 3090 at retail and was not very educated on PCs at the time that I built it. If anyone can give me some constructive criticism/ suggestions it would be appreaciated.

Hi, I’m fairly “tech savvy” but this issue is out of my league. I got the 00xc0000098 error on startup and tried to fix it by booting through a USB drive but then I got an error saying “Failed to load operating system”. Nothing seems to be working for me so I’m really hoping someone can hop in a discord call with me and work through this with me. I can even pay you if you want. I need help! I will be busy until 7pm EST. If you want to help me, please add me on discord (Big Cohones#1458) and I will message you around 7pm thanks so much to anyone that is willing to help!

I'm following this guide for bcache: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/Bcache I have a sata ssd that I'm not using in my gaming pc that I put into my server to cache my steamcache to make it faster. The drive isn't mounted in linux and I've tried reformatting the drive, using umount and using wipefs with the force option enabled. None of these have worked. On the steps for wipefs and make-bcache in the guide they both return the same error for /dev/sdc which is "device or resource busy" as far as I understand since the drive isn't mounted to the filesystem no processes should be using the drive so I can't figure out exactly why linux isn't letting me use wipefs or make-bcache.

Hello LTT community! I posted this question on reddits r/PCMASTERRACE but to no avail. So I figured I would give you guys a shot. A while back ago I was doing some furmark testing and noticed that my 2080 super was thermal throttling at 73 C. I found this sus, as I know it should be higher, but at the time I didn't care because the GPU was in the open and remained fairly lower than that while running most things. However, since then I got a case! Even though I have sufficient air flow through the case, I seem to be hitting the 73C mark now in other apps, so I am forced to care now. I looked in the X1 app for answers as there is a setting to control the thermal throttle limit, however, its set at 88C. I have confirmed that X1 has this setting "applied" too. Still it throttles at 73c. I have made sure everything is updated, did a bit of googling, but unless I missed something, none of these cases seem to apply. Mainly because most are posts focus on being concerned that it's getting that hot or hotter. Anyone have ideas what could be causing this?

I recently got the 2021 asus tuf dash f15 with a 3050 ti and was having problems with overheating, so i replaced the thermal paste. after putting the laptop back together, it will no longer turn on and plugging in the charger does nothing. I've already tried disconnecting the battery and holding power as well as completely disassembling the laptop and reassembling it again. all cables are properly connected. what might be wrong with the laptop and how might i go about fixing it?

Hi, So recently I ran into this issue. I was playing league with some friends, I had discord and Google Chrome open. In the middle of the game, my monitors froze and my keyboard, mouse, and headset stopped working. My PC was still on, and the monitors were still displaying frozen images. I'm not sure what happened, and I don't know whether I should be worried or not. My computer wouldn't respond to a forced shut down from the power button, so I had to flip the power supply's switch off to get it to turn off. Any tips or what to look for? Edit: PC Specs Ryzen 7 3700 2060 Super 32GB RAM 2 SSD's, one 250GB and another 1TB Don't know what power supply but was upgraded around a year ago. This issue happened a few times before, but I thought I got it fixed by removing a game recording software. Seems that this software wasn't the issue...

I recently bought a dell r710 and I'm trying to put unraid on it. I was able to get unraid booted using the internal usb port but unraid is unable to see the 2 installed drives I put in the system. I've looked around and I've seen solutions where you have to go into PERC or the raid controller using ctrl+c or ctrl+r to configure the drives but nothing happens when I do that before the os starts. Also, I don't know if this matters, but the lights on the hard drive caddies are not turning on. They flash briefly on system boot but they don't turn on after that. I'd like to configure the array to JBOD so that unraid can handle the redundancy if possible. Thanks

So I have a Ryzen 3 2200g (OC to 3.7gh) and a RX 580 8gb (OC to 1460MHz at 1150mV) and 8gb of ram in a 4x2 config for dual channel and I am getting low fps, input delay, frame drops, stuttering and overall windows OS lag sometimes. If someone could help me that would be great!

Hi. so i recently switched away from windows for schoolwork, because windows update was causing chaos, and I did not feel comfortable disabling it. So I started dual booting Manjaro KDE 5.22.3 Everything was fine. Then I started getting into theming and stuff, but when I installed one of the themes, and decided to switch back, the meta key stopped working, in that it would no long activate the menu bar, no matter many times I restarted the computer. The correct shortcut keys are set (alt f1) and I made sure to even restore to factory settings, but IT still doesn't work. It works when I boot back into windows though Any solutions are appreciated. Specs: Dell Inspiron 3501 2021 edition Tiger lake intel core i5 8gb ddr4 2666 mhz memory Intel Iris XE Graphics

It's been two years since I've bought this card (ASUS ROG Strix RX 580) from a local PC store. Never took it apart, never done much physical work to it other than maybe blowing compressed air between the fins on annual cleaning. Nowadays, when I'm running the card at stock (1360mhz @ 1150mv) in games like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Horizon Zero Dawn at close to Max Quality, it would run to about 86c until it throttles the clock speeds to about 1200mhz - 1300mhz more or less. To mitigate this, I undervolted my GPU - now running at 1360mhz @ 1050mv and invested in some Noctua fans thinking it was an airflow problem at first - 2x NF-A12x25s, one directly blowing air on the GPU (which did help bring down the temps a bit but it would still throttle but only slower and less at stock settings). Now with both solutions, it would still fall right around the high 70s to sometimes low 80s. What the setup looks like: I recently watched and read reviews about the same card and theirs would apparently max out at 62c and at most I've read it going up to 68c but THAT is still miles from what I get in terms of thermals. So my questions are: If you have the same card or similar card in terms of design and cooling, what is your experience in terms of thermals? Given the context, with a card with such a beefy cooler, are my thermals normal or kind of whack? Should I change out my thermal paste? If so, any suggestions on what thermal paste I should get? Something that would last long but not too heavy on the pockets (but you could still suggest the best regardless of price). I checked, the warranty has already expired but I am still a bit scared about doing it though, and if it will be worth it. I hope it is tho!

So, i'm an animation student with an OMEN 15 series laptop, RTX 2060, Core i7 8750H CPU, 16 gb ram and with Windows 10 Home. My problem is that for some reason, before I reset my laptop, Microsoft Store had stopped working, and all apps related and downloaded by the store stopped working entirely. I tried to reset the store, nothin' happened. Then I ran the the troubleshooter and nothing. After that, I tried the WSReset and the differente reset and re-install PowerShell Codes. Nothing happened and nothing worked. Now i've reset fully, deleting everything on my laptop (Don't worry, I backed-up my important files on a hard drive) and had a clean installation of Windows 10 Home. Tried opening Microsoft Store again. Nada. Tried resetting and cleaning the Microsoft Store and clean it's cache and everything, still nothing. That is why I recur to LTT Forum, I need you guys in my life. Thanks in advance!

I unplugged one of my single rgb fans from a seperate core box to see if it would reduce the overall noise level of my pc, as it's quite loud. It turned off the fan and reduced the noise level as I'd hoped, but I noticed that the reset button no longer changed the colours of the other fans (different core box.) This was strange, so I plugged the single fan back into it's core box. Then I unplugged one of the three fans that were in the other fan hub and now none of the fans in my other fan hub have rgb. They all run fine, there just aren't any lights. I'm baffled as to what's happened as all I did was remove one of the fan cables. I've put everything back into the hubs yet I still have no rgb. Any help would be appreciated!

Okay so my pc had been playing up lately and my internet will drop out for days and when I diagnose this issue the wifi card says my internet isn’t in range even though when I’m connected it’s full bars, it’ll randomly connect every known and then and work fine but until then it’s useless no matter where I put it it cannot find my router, I’ve diagnosed the wifi card, restarted my pc, removed and readded my internet, done a network reset and nothing :/ Diagnosis: “None of the networks you have previously connected to are in range” Edit: I have the latest drivers too

Hello I just built a new pc about a month ago and for the most part it works great but, for certain things I get software and even hardware crashes. attached is the error I get after a full pc crash. I also don't get blue screens from these crashes it just restarts the computer. This has occurred mostly when playing Elder Scrolls Online but has also occurred with almost any other Online game or software. I've been trying to do backups to Idrive backup service and it can only get through about 25 gigs before it crashes my comp and causes the ethernet cable to not register until I restart the comp again. I also got a crash while I was working in Substance painter and tried connecting to a zoom call for class. I get no issues with single player offline games or with browsing through chrome or downloading things to a drive. After much testing and troubleshooting I have come to the conclusion that the issue is most likely to do with the network controller on my motherboard or something related to it. Seems any large amounts of constant data like loading and manipulating assets in ESO causes a memory leak or corruption that causes the program to just shut down or sometimes even a cpu crash. I also know it isnt a internet provider issue because I get no issues with my previous pc on the same connection and none of the other device me or my roommate use have any issues. I have uninstalled and reinstalled every driver I could find, set the bios to default, gone through support for most of the software, ran memtest86 with full pass/no errors, ran my internet through both ethernet and wifi-usb with little change, my temp monitoring doesn't show any throttling either. Any Ideas before I give up and take it to a pc repair place? here are my specs and attached is the mem error I get most of the time when it crashes the pc: Ryzen 7 5800x Asus ROG Strix B550 a-gaming MOBO 32 GB Corsair 3600mhz Vengeance RGB White Nvidia EVGA Windforce gtx980 Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix AIO Corsair RM750x PSU Lian-Li Lancool II mesh 2 of the fans that came with the case, 3 Corsair RGB fans that came with the AIO and 3 more Corsair RGB Case fans also a set of Corsair LS100 Lighting Strips connected via USB

I bought a new pc and noticed that my utilization was hovering around the mid 30% to low 50% on both my cpu and gpu. I have no idea why this would be. All my drivers are updated and vsync isn't on.

This is gonna be a lot, but bear with me, please. So, as the title suggests, I bought the 850w straight power 11 for my system. Cpu is ryzen 5800x, gpu is aorus 3080 xtreme, which is a three 8-pin card. Here is some info on the psu: It comes with two seperate 6+2 PCIe cables, and one dual 6+2 cable that is split down the middle, like this: It has a 12-pin side that goes into the psu: (as opposed to the single 6+2 cables, which have 8 pins on the psu side.) That cable is an extra be quiet! sent me. I asked for another single, but got a double . The stock cable is completely wrapped in sleeving and looks like this one, below, but split and with dual connections, of course. Anyway, I plugged in the dual cable to the first PCIe slot on the psu, and a single cable on the third, as suggested in the manual. When shining a light around, I noticed the dual cable's pins (left) seem to show silver color, whereas the single's (right) show copper? Sorry for the blur in the second photo, but you can better see the difference in color. I confirmed that the other single cable's pins looks copper, as well. Does this speak to the quality of the cables/pins? Be quiet! said it was safe to power my 3080 with a dual and single...and there are also several other folks who have three 8-pin gpu's with this same psu who are running completely fine on the dual cable + one single, but I'm paranoid. I don't want my cables melting, or something! I also noticed that all PCIe cables are labeled as 18g, and I read that 16g is safer for dual cables. Would it be better to use the dual 6+2 with one 6+2 connection dangling, and then the two single 6+2? Would that mess with balancing the load on the PCIe rails? Is it safe to use the dual cable at all?? Am I way overthinking this? (Most likely...) If you made it this far, thank you. I'm an incredibly anxious person, so if anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. (I'm on my phone, and can't figure out how to remove these dumb spoiler boxes I accidentally added, lmao)

Happens in bios and startup. Reset cmos, reseated gpu and ram, tested without gpu. All of them the same issue. No led or beep codes from mobo. It just lights up and shuts off after 10 seconds. My headphones are extremely loud. Currently I have them at 25% volume or so on the headphones themselves and my Windows volume is 32. Apps like Chrome have to be set even lower. In addition to the loud volume, my mic is pretty much dead. I ran through 3 headphones, all of which had the same issues. All of their mics died in a few months. Current headphones: HyperX Cloud Stinger Current Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 HD3P. Would getting USB headphones prevent them from getting damaged by the current? That's what my friend suggested. My PC is 2 years old by the way and I've had these issues ever since I built the PC. What should I do?

Hey guys, I was just looking on radeon Adrenalin software for no apparent reason other than to see my gpu fan speed. I saw though that this was happening https://gyazo.com/fab1cfffe64c2c88b673ee0a91cc1c2c https://gyazo.com/45df1234d7ccaf5163a7066ae04998b6 https://gyazo.com/575046ef0de6b41006fcf2506a8df24d https://gyazo.com/1e098f2b84b61417821616d70795ee4f https://gyazo.com/37d2fd62c07773139e37b1e75fcae1b0 I am running the following: RX 550 from powercolor A B450M DS3H Motherboard from gigabyte A 500w psu non modular from coolermaster a 7200rpm HDD from seagate 2tb a coolermaster masterbox lite 3.1 case (MATX) and the stock 120mm fans i believe. Bear in mind im using a Samsung 32" smart hd TV to run this on. (My only thought is because its on such a big screen its more harder for the parts, but it was still fairly loud on one 24" monitor also from Samsung) The temps do stay around 32-33 degrees C when not in use i haven't saw them with gaming loads though, I'll check that out and get back on the forum. Any help would be appreciated as this is really odd and it would be amazing to see a fix for this as it's pretty annoying with the sound but at the same time i'm not in the mood to burn my whole PC down into a big puddle of brick and sadness. Stay safe people and thanks to anyone that can help.
