  1. CPU is a 5600H in a Lenovo ideapad gaming 15ACH-6 For the past couple months I've been having an issue with my CPU randomly dropping to 0.4 GHz, even though its nowhere near overheating. Before the issue it would slow down to .4 GHz at 80 degrees, which is the max temp Lenovo put in place. Then it would drop at 60 degrees, I eventually repasted thinking it would fix but now it drops randomly at 60-65 degrees still. My GPU also doesn't even come close to overheating either so my heat sink is working. Slowed Condition: Working Condition:
  2. crap I accidentaly gave my credentials to some russians with steam mirror website with a keylogger or something like that. I locked ny steam account and filled out the "proof of ownership" form. When i pressed "send" nothing happened. The button just chabged colour and became unpressable. I later got an email with a code saying "before you submit your help request, confirm this is your email address by entering this code into the help form." What help form are they talking about because I didn't get redirected to a place where you should write the code. Should I give them the code later. And most importantly, will they review my submission so I can get my 1000$+ worth of gamed back.
  3. I was getting similar results with my 2060 so i wanted to know if something is wrong. I got 15700 on 3D mark which is average but im a bit weirded out from the in game performance. Here are my test results: 200 to 300 fps on csgo everything on max - CPU usage avg 30% / GPU usage avg 40% / RAM usage avg 11.5 gigs out of 16 (didn't record temps) under 100 fps on fortnite everythinh on max - CPU usage avg 30% / GPU usage avg 46% / RAM usage avg 14.5 gigs out of 16 (CPU temp 70C_ GPU temp 82C) 60 fps on elden ring everything on max - CPU usage avg 29% / GPU usage avg 98% / RAM usage avg 14.5 gigs out of 16 (CPU temp 70C_ GPU temp 82C) In all of them fans where going crazy because my case is horrid for cooling (dw am on it) Specs: 3090 fe Ryzen 7 3700x Corsair 650W (I've already ordered a new one) Asus B550M PLUS Corsair 16 gigs 3200MHz
  4. So basicly I just got my 3090 fe and while it's doing as expected on 3D mark it seams to under perform in almost any game I tried it in. (basically fps low) Specs: 3090 fe Ryzen 7 3700x Corsair 650W (I've already ordered a new one) Asus B550M PLUS Corsair 16 gigs 3200MHz
  5. Having some trouble on my win10 VM. I installed guest additions on the VM and then this started happening. I uninstalled guest additions and it didn't fix this issue. Any ideas? 2023-09-07 22-23-40.mkv Edit: The funny thing is, the bug is only visual. Functionally, everything still works the same as if nothing was going on. Example: In runelite even though the program seems to be split into 6ths, all the buttons are in the same spot as if nothing were wrong.
  6. Hi, I have an old 1070 that I lent to my friend since I upgraded to a 3070. One of the fans, the third fan away from the display outputs has a fucked bearing from the years of abuse so its creating noise and vibrations. Apparently its bugging his family so much that we had to do something about it. Is it safe to just tape the 3rd fan while we get a replacement? The fan is rated for 12V 0.35A but we made the fan tuning to never reach 100% anyways so will there be a fire hazard for doing so?
  7. Hello guys i am kinda new here.... I've been going round the internet finding a replacement screen for my msi Ge67hx anybody with ideas will be highly appreciated... Thanks
  8. internet cafe owner here. something happened in roblox installer in which it would just crash and close program. this never happened before in my rental pcs. and before you ask, my rental pcs are relying on diskless system, in which all of them will rely on a vhd acting like an "image OS" that's connected to a server (aka my pc). no writes will happen on the image OS and therefore it never saw any changes for months. and then roblox installer just suddenly decided to just crash and kill itself, losing customers. I'll just show the thing in video https://youtu.be/PyqinQ6sB9U
  9. First of all, I'm new to this Forum and would like to already apologize if my Topic is misplaced, too much to ask for or hard to understand. Also I would like to mention that I'm from Berlin, Germany and therefore want to apologize for my potentially flawed english at times as it is (just) my second language. So I am searching for a suitable webcam solution for the conference room of the company I work for for quite a while now and am getting more and more frustrated. For some of our meetings we have employees join via Microsoft Teams since they are working remote, which is why we are searching for a decent option that fits our needs. Currently, an HDMI cable, which is wired from the wall outlet behind the TV to a floor outlet underneath the conference table (pictures below), is connected to the laptop of any given employee, which then lets the employee use the TV as a second monitor for presentations or to display the conference call. Downside of this solution is the fact that the only webcam in the conference room then is the employees laptop's build-in one. The ideal solution would be a webcam that can be controlled by any user via the HDMI Cable coming from the TV or via the existing network port (or Wifi) for meetings without having to integrate an additional USB cable from the TV to the table that then has to be plugged in by the individual user as well as the HDMI Cable. (Not to mention having to pull a USB-Cable from the wall outlet to the floor outlet.) Giving it´s high funtionality (incl. AI functions for Video Calls and Presentations), good noise-reduction microphone and decent pricepoint I was looking into using the Insta360 Link Webcam. After talking with their support for quite some time though I ended up with the conclusion, that the Insta360 Link can only connect via USB and would therefore require the installation of the previously mentioned additional USB-Cable. FYI: The Insta360 Link costs 370€ as of right now, which is about the maximum pricepoint I was looking for. I know that there are probably a lot of business and enterprise solutions for conference rooms out there. But if at all possible I would like to prevent having to ask my boss to sign off on a >2.000,- € webcam for our weekly team-meetings xD I have attached a sketch of the rough schematics of our current setup and the potential solutions I had in mind from when I talked to the Insta360 Tech Support. Unfortunatly they already confirmed that "Option 2" won't work, since the Insta360 Link does not have Wifi capabilities on it's own. As you can see, I've had a couple of different Ideas, but haven't found a great solution yet. I wondered if there is some sort of Adapter out there that would sit between the TV and it's HDMI Cable and would allow me to also transfer the Webcams USB Signal via the TV's HDMI Cable, but haven't had any success on that yet either. The TV does have it's own USB Ports, but from my understanding those Input's will not be recognized by a Computer that is simply connected to the TV via HDMI. I would like to mention that the overall goal is to create a solution that every employee can use with as little effort as possible on their front (Plug and Play). We can however install additional Software or drivers on all of our teams devices if that is necessary for the whole thing to work. I have tried to come up with a good solution myself, but am slowly hitting my limits of expertise and creativity. I might want to add on that note that I am not by any means responsible for our IT or anything like that. I work as Head of Sales at this company and am just a frustrated employee with the desire for a good setup. I am however a certified electrician, but haven't worked as such for a couple years now. I'm happy to try and answer all questions you might have and hope there are some Tech-savy ppl around here that might understand my struglle and need for a decent solution. I thank you all for your support and potential help on this topic! Sincerely Jerôme aka. K4ll3
  10. Hello, For the past two months I have been having an issue with my at the time 4 month old PC. Randomly, both displays will go black while the computer stays active. Only a force restart does anything and usually after force restarting, nothing will happen orher than the lights turning on. What I've/ my friend have done: Turned off and on again, Unplugged and replugged everything, RMA'd the GPU (Zotac held on to it for a month and did not say what they did or how they tested the card,) Bought and replaced the motherboard, Swapped the RAM positions, Taken the entire computer apart and put it back together, Switched from Windows 10 to Windows 11 I am past the refund period and spent too much on it to let it collect dust. Any help on what to test or replace would be appreciated. Relevant Specs: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x 16 Core Aorus X670 Elite AX Corsair Vengeance (2X32) 64GB DDR5-5200 CL40 ZOTAC GAMING Trinity OC RTX 3090 24GB Corsair RX850W 80+ Gold PSU Windows 10/11
  11. Moved into a new place, it had an existing networking set up that we are trying to modify/change the password of. (Sorry if this is in the wrong place) what we have: Modem - works fine, can log in, change passwords etc. Switch - tp link TL-SG1024D gigabit switch. Sonos sound system (pretty sure that's irrelevant but just in case) A Luxel wireless controller xwc-1000 And a wireless extender for the second floor connected to the luxel controller. The problem is that the password on the luxel network is insecure - just the name of the company that set it up - and we can't work out how to change it. The default address of the Luxel controller is 192.168.0.1, and we can see that is in use as it's referenced in the network extender and modem connections. However, when we try to load that IP address we get a connection refused error. We are able to log into the modem and the extender without issue. How do we log into the controller to change the password? We have tried resetting the controller, but (somehow) that doesn't fix it. Doesn't change the password either (but does restart the controller). Have also tried accessing the controllers up from Chrome, Firefox and edge without any luck. Does anyone know how to change the password of the Luxel network? Also - Networking is not my strong point, but my understanding is a network controller is overkill for a single house - should we get a wifi booster/repeater instead? Thanks

  13. I updated my computer and my Nvidia graphics drivers were rolled back to an older build from February 2023 and when I told it to check for updates it said that was the most up to date driver. I noticed this because I was playing an emulated game yesterday which was running at a perfect 60fps but today the audio was out of sync and the game went as low as 10fps and I also tried out sonic project 06 which was running at 165fps when I first played but today I saw insane dips down into the 80's then I tried starship troopers which I normally got 90-120 fps in but dipped into the 30s after a massive lag spike and then crashed shortly after. I checked GeForce experience and I saw the rolled back driver. So I uninstalled it then installed the new version. However this is now the second time this has happened. I'm at my wits end anymore idk if pc gaming and owning a PC is for me anymore I always wanted a full desktop but it's just been problems.
  14. Hello, I'm a bit of a novice in PC hardware , I recently bought a used RTX 2060 Super from Ebay for my first real PC build and watched a bunch of video guides on what to look out for in used graphics cards. One thing they told to check was whether the card was previously used for mining and had a mining optimized BIOS installed. I downloaded GPU-Z and googled the BIOS version, and it came up as 'unverified on the TechPowerUp website. My Card's BIOS: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/220261/220261 Stock BIOS as per TechPowerUp: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/215377/msi-rtx2060super-8192-190822 I messaged the seller on Ebay but they haven't yet responded. The listing didn't say anything about mining, only that it was a used but tested working graphics card. Questions: Do graphics cards need BIOS updates? Could it be that I just have a card with an updated official BIOS version but it's not yet verified? Are there any reasons to flash a custom BIOS to your graphics card? (for better performance maybe) Does this card have a custom BIOS because it was used for crypto mining? Should I re-flash the original BIOS? I haven't yet experienced any instability or random crashes but I'm a bit concerned that I'm leaving some performance on the table because maybe the custom BIOS renders the card less powerful than stock. Any insights would be very much appreciated!
  15. Hi! Seemingly randomly, about 3 months ago, whenever i started walking into smokes on CSGO or having the enemy Reaver skin finisher animation play in valorant (when I’m alive and die last or I spectate a teammate that dies last, to only the reaver skin), my PC would shut off and restart. All parts in my PC are less than a year old (besides my GPU), so i’ve got no idea what could possibly be causing this. I have had an issue where my CPU overheated a few times on Overwatch 2, but I’ve reapplied thermal paste and monitored temps (~65-70 celsius on Valorant and CSGO) and they seem fine. Nothing shows up in event viewer either. I’m stuck, please help me as this makes competitive gaming literally impossible. Thanks EDIT: Forgot spec list, here: GTX 1080 i5 10400f (stock cooler) 16gb 2666mhz ram b460m both games installed on m.2 nvme drive (tried hdd as well) 850W Antec PSU
  16. Just built a new PC about a month ago. Specs are as follows: 7950X3D Asus ROG Crosshair Hero x670E Mobo (BIOS 1415) ASUS ROG Strix OC 4090 4x32 GB G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB Series (AMD Expo) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR5 6000 CL30-40-40-96 1.40V 3x Samsung 990 Pro M.2 ASUS ROG Thor 1000W Platinum II PSU Corsair 7000X RGB Full Tower Case Corsair Custom Cooling Loop (CPU &GPU) Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22.621 Build 22621 Build went smooth, no issues to speak of aside from being unable to get EXPO to work at all. I ran leak tests for 48 hours, no leaks. I ran stress tests with 3DMark and Prime95 with no issues for several hours. Gaming has even been perfect. That is until this weekend. I played Diablo IV for several hours Thursday into Friday. I had one crash after ~10 hours of gaming. Didn't think much of it. When I played later that Friday I had maybe 2 crashes, again I wasn't too alarmed being a new game. Other Games played fine. Sunday I played for about 2-3 hours and suddenly the game crashed. Tried Cyberpunk 2077 and it also crashed. I have tried roll back driver, DDU uninstall and fresh install of three different driver versions, I removed RAM sticks down to 1 and in different slots with different sticks, I tried new PSU cable, I tried turning Expo ON, but wouldn't boot, ran Windows Memory Test with no issues with different RAM Configurations, disabled anything that had hardware acceleration, changed power settings in NVIDIA Control panel, undervolted GPU, added reg key for TdrDelay of 10 seconds. Everything works fine until I try to game or run a benchmark. Event Viewer has some errors but they all appear to be generic but do reference Nvidia. I did stream yesterday without issue during this for several hours. So I am honestly just scratching my head. Any help is appreciated. If I missed anything let me know. Edit: I have pulled the power cables and reseated all of them. I have also installed a fresh install of Windows. Still same results
  17. I was setting up keycard authentication software using this guide, https://ubuntu.com/server/docs/security-smart-cards and before setup could be completed I had to go to work. It's an old guide so most of my time was spent on trying to work stuff out. Nonetheless, I shut down my PC and went to work. I boot up my PC after I come home, decrypt the drive, and it doesn't let me put in a password. (Video below) Is there a way to recover the system drive? No, I didn't make a backup or snapshot. Yes, I'm a Linux noob. VID_20230603_102320.mp4
  18. Hello LTT forum. I have had this problem with my windows pc the last 3 years. My pc crash sometimes when i play games. My pc just shuts down instant with no bluescreen or anything and restart right away. I can see from the Windows Logs, that the error is "Kernel-Power". I have tried everything i could look up from google. I have tried everything i could find, changed settings, total reset of pc and everything. I have even switched power supply to a Corsair RM750x and it still happens. I am very close to just buying a whole new pc, because im so tired of this one. I hope somebody in this great community can help me in any way! The picture attached is from the latest crash. It is in danish, but i think the essential information is still english. -Andersen System is: Windows 10 MB: Asus Z390-P (LGA-1151) CPU: I7-8700k (Be Quiet Purerock 3 cooler) GPU: Asus Strix 1080 RAM: 16 GB G.Skill 3200 MHz (2666 from bios) PSU: Corsair RM750x FANS: 5x BeQuiet fans for airflow. 19. First post here, hoping to see if you guys could help me figure out the problem. I've been having issues with my Asus VH238H monitor, where my screen would just restart itself in game. That is, it would turn itself off for a few seconds and reboot. Everything else is still running though (My PC and my second monitor are still on... the only issue is the Asus Monitor that keeps turning off). This issue seems to only happen to my steam games (still capable of playing Origin Games) and when its hot in my room. I have contacted Asus customer support over email and they just told me to reset the monitor through the monitor settings, but that didn't work. I have switched from HDMI to DVI and vice versa. I made sure my cable was plugged in all the way, and I have tried different monitor power cables. I placed a fan blowing against the monitor and it still has the issue. I also tried running my PC with just the broken monitor (disconnected the second monitor temporarily) and it still has the issue. Everything is running fine besides the Asus monitor. Another attempt at fixing the game is turning VSync On in my games (Rocket League and Rainbow Six Siege) thinking that maybe capping my FPS would give the monitor less work, but that didn't work. I also turned down the brightness of the monitor, and that still doesn't seem to fix the issue. I bought this monitor about 1 and a half years ago, so I really don't want to purchase a new one so soon. Do you guys have any ideas what could be the issue? Oh and lastly, CPU temps under 65 C and GPU under 70 C.
  20. I've been stuck having to reinstall my GPU multiple times even with my 1080 now my 3080TI does exact same thing occasionally but it's been getting more recent it glitches 144hz disappears, other thing that has been going on I run my monitors in HDR and its at 50% brightness but software glitches and my monitors go super bright do the whole reinstall and it still does it, turn it down to 0% and its dark but when it actually works normal its super dark and I need to adjust to 50% is my normal setting. I'm bad at explaining this I just wondered if anybody has ever had issues
  21. So freshly installed a and 7800x3d with ddr5 ram and an PRO X670-P WIFI Met with crashes, freezes, blue screen and the pc shutting itself off slowly. It runs stably outside of games for extended periods if that helps Because it shuts itself off properly (even if it’s doing it on its own) I don’t think it’s a power supply issue issue and it’s a 1000 watt psu I did a fresh install of windows 11 on a drive keeping absolutely nothing as I thought it was a driver issue. My bios is the latest. I am running out of hope and not sure what to do at this point any and all advice would be greatly appreciated I also did a memtest and the ram showed no issues.
  22. So recently my stepmoms phone was damaged in cuba and wanted the picture off of it so I said "No Problem", I went to order a new charging board and none of the one's online matched it, I searched all the numbers on it and every single result was different. Any idea on what to do and if so, how?
  23. Hello all, For about a week I have been having an issue where my computer randomly restarts. This topic is the closest thing I could find to someone having the same issue, but I have not overclocked my cpu. I currently have a Ryzen 9 5950x, but here is my full build in case it helps. This computers cpu, motherboard, and memory was upgraded 1/6, and the crashes started happening consistently 3/26 Essentially what my issue is that my computer will randomly freeze and then reboot itself. It does not blue screen, and it can happen when I am playing a game or when the PC is idle. There is nothing that actually triggers the restart from what I can tell. On 4/8, I updated my bios in an attempt to fix the issue and it fixed it for about five days, however, it has gone back to consistently crashing. Does anyone have any idea on what I can do to help fix my issue? From what I can tell everywhere on the internet, it might have something to do with my cpu voltage, but I have no clue. Along with the previously mentioned forum thread, this website also has some information about my issue.
  24. A few years ago I purchased a Sceptre C248B-144RN monitor and it worked great for the longest time with zero issues. However within the last year or so I was getting weird colored lines at the bottom of my screen after a cold boot. At first it was just a few lines that went away after 10 or so minutes but slowly it evolved into lines that climbed halfway up the screen and took several hours to go away. Just recently after some heavy thought sessions I tried turning down my refresh rate from 144hz to 60hz and guess what? Good as new. I originally thought it was the cable as that was an obvious solution since the lines were only appearing with input from the PC, however after rebooting my computer quite literally as I was ordering a new DP cable I noticed that my monitor had begun showing said lines on it's own boot screen. This basically left me stumped and I feel as though the only fix is going to be getting a new monitor, however my pockets aren't the deepest and with my wedding coming up I absolutely cannot afford to spend money on a new gaming monitor right now. No drivers exist online for this monitor and windows thinks I'm up to date anyway, anyone have any clue of a possible way to fix this without throwing the whole thing out?
  25. So reinstalled windows 10 on my pc wiped harddrives and installed a fresh copy ow windows, after install i tried opening up chrome and after 3 seconds it crashed and wont open again, same thing happend when i tried firefox, but microsft edge seems to be working just fine. Thought something might have bugged with the installation so i reisntalled windows again, same thing. Even tried installing windows 11 same problem occurs. Whats going on? Looked for solutions online that led nowhere. Any one got a clue on whats causing this, and how i can fix it.
