#FirstWorldProblemYo System which is a part of IOT made a bit frenzy during the Advertisement spot segment for some folks, which google had on their product "Google Home" , The system responded to the trigger voice command from the television "OK Google" & tried to respond to the following command following the ad transmission, Google Home is a voice activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant which always listens , which made this a mini chaos to those users who had it in a hearing range to the television the spot featured over and over again, people uttering its popular wake word, “OK Google” made the device wake & respond abruptly, The home system is dormant until a user calls out . Then they perform any number of functions from playing a musical selection to turning on or off the lights. Some users reporting that the system didn't recognize the command & responded " sorry, I don’t understand " #OkayDad, More Money Google hasn't yet commented on this mild hiccup , but no harm done. Windows 10 will soon allow you to block desktop apps from installing. This is very similar to how Mac OS prevents unsigned apps from installing or iOS in general. Basically anything that isn't in the store isn't allowed to be installed. Nothing very much to say about this, just thought I would see some opinions on this. Kind of like Windows 10 Cloud. Whether the content is terrorism, racism, political opposition, use of the name of a country that China doesn't want used, or unicorns, this is still a black list. Do you think this is a good or bad idea? Are these companies doing a public service or are they squashing the free expression of their consumers? If abused, does the existence of a database make all of these parties culpable in a conspiracy against any given group? For example, if LTT were tagged as "fake news" and blacklisted, and could prove this as defamation in a court of law, then they could pull all of these companies into it possibly just for the existence of the database. Another legal example is the RICO Act, where all they need to show is a conspiracy to act unlawfully. The RICO Act has been used against organized crime. I can see such a database, and those who provide the data, very easily becoming more or less a thought police. It also places government hooks/influence in an area that has attempted to remain relatively neutral from government intervention. Yes, I know some have standing deals with China to censor/block content, but up to now that's been limited to a given company.

Researchers at security firm Compay called "CheckPoint Software Technologies" have uncovered a new malware that has allegedly affected over a million andoid devices upto this day, The attack campaign, named Gooligan, breached the security of over one million Google accounts. The number continues to rise at an additional 13,000 breached devices each day. Gooligan strain has infected nearly 1.3 million Android phone since August. The threat seems to be in a subtle nature, but still pretty harsh, taken they haven't breached into personal private files & used it as ransom , it seems a more pure ad revenue oriented attack like a p.u.p or p.h.a , the primary focus of the malware seems to be a massive advertising campaign The module allows Gooligan to: Steal a user’s Google email account and authentication token information Install apps from Google Play and rate them to raise their reputation Install adware to generate revenue Once installed, the infected apps root the devices to gain system access of devices. The rooted devices then download and install a software that steals authentication tokens. These tokens allow the attackers to access the user’s Google-related account without having to enter a password. The tokens work with a number of Google services, including Docs, Gmail, Drive, and Photos. How does Gooligan work? The infection begins when a user downloads and installs a Gooligan-infected app on a vulnerable Android device. Our research team has found infected apps on third-party app stores, but they could also be downloaded by Android users directly by tapping malicious links in phishing attack messages. After an infected app is installed, it sends data about the device to the campaign’s Command and Control (C&C) server. Gooligan then downloads a rootkit from the C&C server that takes advantage of multiple Android 4 and 5 exploits including the well-known VROOT (CVE-2013-6282) and Towelroot (CVE-2014-3153). These exploits still plague many devices today because security patches that fix them may not be available for some versions of Android, or the patches were never installed by the user. If rooting is successful, the attacker has full control of the device and can execute privileged commands remotely. After achieving root access, Gooligan downloads a new, malicious module from the C&C server and installs it on the infected device. From August this year on-wards the current view of subscriber count will be rounded down & displayed, instead of showing the exact number of subscribers that are live at the moment, For example someone who has "7,475,678" subscribers it'll now be shown as "7,000,000" as a general average as "7.4 mill" , The only people excluded from the rounded down sub count show would be those that has less than 1000 subs , for them the numbers of subscribers that are shown will be exact & accurate. Content creators will be able to see exact subscriber count from YouTube studio. So only us viewers are hit by this odd decision from google. Just imagine. Other than that Sub botting would now be imperceptible to regular viewers audience as there's no proof to see or record it. there's that malpractice option opened up. we saw this clearly with Pewds v T-series subs. both parties doing their part in it. to be fair i think this will indeed be a good tool to curb that domino effect of sub losses, but this had to be inclusive , if they had noticed the mass drop on per individual basis & apply this to that exact channel & give/take time figure out whats going on, then it'd be good, this might discourage or encourage new viewers decision about subbing or unsubbing. but at the same time know that mass un-subbing happens due to something . creators behavior/news/tantrum/rumor etc people rarely go out against another person without cause except general hate or-whatever which is less now. There were rumors about Dr. Lisa Su leaving AMD and going to IBM. She has come forward and claimed that rumor is not true. This obviously has everyone speculating on why would she leave AMD at this point when it's doing so well. but then I started thinking about the other important VIP's who have left to work for other companies over the years like Ryan Shrout a tech journalist CEO joining Intel along with many other VIP moving to Intel. All these tech VIP migrations are leading me to speculate WHAT IF all the tech companies are secretly working together to ensure that none of them fail because they know competition is important for thriving businesses. What if they are intentionally moving the smartest minds to the companies that are hurting the most in order to bring those companies back up off the floor and get them back on their feet. Now that AMD has gotten back on its feet, everyone's flocking to Intel trying to save them from falling. and IBM has been declining in the market for the past 3 years so perhaps there is talk of moving tech VIP's over to IBM in order to help keep them afloat. At the end of the day we are all tech nerds who want to see great things happen with technology. We want to see innovation and improve performance staying cool and using less power! I was helping my friend spec out a high-end personal rig, and I advised him to replace his i7 9700k with the Ryzen 3900x. He's curious about pricing, so we pull it up on Newegg. He looks at me like I'm crazy, because the processor was listed as $1,412!!! I checked other sources, and they too were jacking up prices, and most places were sold out. That was yesterday, and today I checked Newegg, and the price came back down to $530. I looked up if there was any tech news about an extreme shortage, and I found nothing, so I figured here would be the best place to post this info??

Quick note here, Nvidia recently announced several security issues with their graphics drivers including the potential for remote code execution, denial of service issues, and permissions escalation. So if you use an Nvidia GPU it's probably a good idea to update your drivers.
