Hey guys, I was wondering what switches the razer blackwidow chroma keyboard uses, I head they are not cherry mx switches. Does this keyboard come with different ones I can chose? I want the cherry mx brown style.

In linus' video about NKRO and ghosting he said that NKRO was not possible over usb, but some manufacturers like ducky and corsair have made it possible. Does this mean that NKRO can work on modern keyboards over usb? I have a cm quickfire xti coming in 2 days and i want to know if i can actually utilize the NKRO feature.

On amazon the deathstalker tournemnt edition is £60 and the Aivia is the same price on CCL. The Aivia seems like the better pick as it's MX Browns compared to the Razer Green switches; plus the blue LED's are similar to my G502.

CHERRY MX key chattering It seems I've stumbled upon a well-kept secret when it comes to mechanical keyboards that use Cherry MX switches (Kailh probably too). They all succumb to an issue - key chattering. Either something (dirt, dust, hair, ash, plastic dust, ...) gets inside the MX switch or it simply comes "of age" AND the switch starts to register as a double-click (but not each time). Sometimes it takes a year, sometimes less. It's a wide-spread issue. What is key chattering? http://deskthority.net/wiki/Chatter How did I come to find that? My "g" key started experiencing "gg" sometimes instead of "g". I've noticed it a few days back (that it happens sometimes) but tonight it became really annoying. So I did some research. And I had something to find. Here are my findings: - It affects all Cherry MX switch types (but some report MX Brown most frequntly). - Sometimes cleaning the switch (while pressed) with compressed (canned) air can help (probably removes dust). - Sometimes a few drops of Isopropyl alcohol (80% or stronger) and pressing the key rapidly makes the problem go away for a few weeks or even months. - In a few rare cases lubricating the switch helped. - If it happens on more than 1 key it might be the controler firmware (gone bad) or a driver conflict. How to identify the issue if you're not certain? - use a text editor and use the key you suspect - use a program called Switch Hitter from Elite Keyboards https://elitekeyboards.com/switchhitter.php Is there a temporary "solution" to the problem? - Yes there is. One can use a program called Keyboard Chattering Fix. About: http://www.ilovefreesoftware.com/21/windows/keyboard-chattering-fix.html Download link: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Keyboard-Chattering-Fix.shtml Is there a permanent solution? - Yes, but it involves changing the switch for a new one. But since all MX switches are affected, no-one can guarantee... I've written this a few minutes back here (here's the original): https://www.gamingtribe.com/status/13194140054018/?v=349eca249c7371c2dd2b59c97dce2728

Here is the link to the anadtech article from which I got this information: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7911/razer-blackwidow-ultimate-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-review/3 I feel this is worth pointing out because they claim that their key switches last for 60 million key strokes. Whereas Cherry switches only have a life of 50 million key strokes.

Hey guys! I decided to buy a new keyboard, but i'm a little bit confused about this, between K70 , K70 RGB or might be CMStorm Trigger Z. I dont really care about the RGB lightning, but what i concern is about the durability of the LED's itself, i dont want to RMA the keyboard every 6 months or so. But back-lightning is important for me, quite often that im typing in a dark condition so why i consider the RGB? Cause from what i know and surfing the net, the RGB version got a more durable LEDs (?) and i really like the build on the K70s, so yeah... and for the trigger Z , my friend got the quickfire rapid and he says its very good, but he already 2 times RMA cause the LEDs problem. Though its not the exact model but the concern is still there. + about the coating on the key caps will they be wear-off after a long period of time? cause just $200ish keyboard i just want a worry free experience The main concern is about the Keyboard durability here. Anyway i need an advice, or maybe some other keyboard that got a recommendation ? (btw i really like the brown switches) Many Thanks Before..

So I recently got a new quiet mouse for work and home, which works brilliantly, barely any sound out of me at work at all!....until you reach my keyboard. Currently at home I've got a wireless logitech keyboard+mouse (K260), and I've been looking at 60% and "65%" keyboards (love those tiny things). However, looking around I'm struggling to find a UK ISO keyboard (or any euro iso, since I can swap keys) that's compact and quiet. I'm temporarily using a Mac keyboard, and it's nice, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the keys and while thin, it's pretty long.... Anyone out there got a quiet, compact ISO keyboard they would recommend? There's got to be a decent one out there!...right?

Ok, so I have a question that involves both network switches and music. I have a soundboard and want to use 2 switches between the stage and soundboard to send and receive audio. Can I use the sfp port with a fiber line to run from one switch to the other and then in the management utility of the switches essentially mirror the ports? Basically I want to combine all signal into that fiber line instead of running 24 separate cat-5 lines. I don't believe this should be an issue, but I wanted to make sure it's possible before buying the equip. Thanks!

MX Red Silent and MX Red Silent RGB switches Construction of an MX Silent keyswitch For me it's nice to see they're doing something for the people that doesn't want too much noise but the feeling and feedback of a mechanical switch. It seems that they will be using MX Red and MX Black variants. I would wait for other companies besides Corsair to release products with these switches, since it seems that we will only see these switches on Corsair Keyboards for months. I would buy one keyboard with Silent switches, because I don't like a noise keyboard. What do you guys think? Sauce

Alright, LTT Forum I need your help here. Currently my house is being redone and we're planning on having a dedicated cabinet to hold all our networking peripherals. We've got 30 Cat6 ethernet cables (there's going to be 3/4 ethernet ports per room) to connect up. This is where you guys come in, I'm pretty confused on how you can configure switches. I understand that you can buy different types and I've decided that unmanaged switches overall will be the best option since everything connecting to the switches won't need to have any network traffic managed or measured. Questions: - From our internet router could I say buy two 24 port switches and connect them into two different ports of the router or would I need to buy a 30+ port switch. - Or could you connect one 24 port switch into the other 24 port switch and have it work like that? - Would a Netgear N900 router be able to handle all the ports or would I have to buy a new router to accomodate? Also, the router I have currently has 4 gigabit ethernet ports but would there be much of a speed difference between a 500 Mbps switch and a 1 Gbps? If it helps the things that will connect to it will be TVs, laptops, my computer or basically any bit of technology in a house that could connect by ethernet. Any recommendation on switches or just general knowhow on setting stuff up would be appreciated as well! Thanks for all the help guys. I appreciate it!

Hello, currently I have a cheap membrane keyboard and it serves its function well but it doesn't really have a consistent (typing) feel that I would like as a CS:GO player. Some keys you need to press harder, some softer, some are not very "balanced" and so on; you know, like every other membrane keyboard. So I was wondering should I buy this BlackWidow Tournament Edition keyboard with their new Razer green switches OR should I save my money for later and buy other and more expensive keyboard? Although I like how it looks, and it would match my Razer mouse and mouse pad, but it needs to be reliable and consistent to me. Please tell me what you think. I'm especially interested on opinions of owners of Razer-green-switch-keyboards. Thank you!

I am modding my scout 2 and I want the LED on/off button on the top of the case to turn off an LED bar instead. Is this possible? Could I replace the current switch with the 2 2-pin wires with another switch and use and adapter like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812200499 I am new at modding and I assume it's possible but am not 100% sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I was going back to the time when Corsair decided to discontinue their line of Cherry MX Blue RGB switches and I was feeling the pain and sadness again, even though I can't afford it. Then I remembered that Corsair James on his forum mentioned that contrary to popular belief, Cherry MX Blue switches are actually really outsold by other switches such as Cherry MX Reds and Browns. So I wanted to see for myself, because many gamers and streamers I see on YouTube all have some sort of clicky switch, which I can only assume to be Cherry MX Blues.

Hi, so I'm thinking of upgrading to a mechanical keyboard but have no idea what switch does what or as somebody else told me what 'preference' differences are there. So I want to ask all you mechanical keyboard owners what type of switches you have, what they are marketed to do, how they perform in your opinion and your keyboard switch preference. It would be helpful if you listed your mechanical keyboard. Thanks.

Hey,first of all sry for my bad english (i'm austrian^^) All my network cabeling was done with a CAT6 S-FTP CCA cable by myself. Router: FritzBox 7390 Austria Edition Switch1&2: 2x TP-Link SG1005D NAS: Synology 214play Pc1: NIC of the mainboard( asus rampage 4 extreme) Pc2: NIC of the mainboard( asus maximus 3 gene) Nootebook: Marvell Yukon 88E8057 NIC --> all is gigabit-grade equipment My normal network looks like following: router-20m->switch1-10m->switch2-3m->pc1 -7m->pc2 -0.5m->nas Let's introduce my problem: I only get 11.0-12.0 MBps when copying files from my pc1 or pc2 to or from my synology nas. My pc2 is locked to 100Mbitps, even when i ramp up the speed of the controller to 1000Mbitps manually. As soone as i replaced my pc2 with my pc1, my transfer rate went up to 110MBps. When i replaced the switch1 with my notebook, i got no connection to my network because i used gigabit speed on the nic-controller of the notebook. When i replaced the switch1 with my notebook, i only got connection to my network as i used the 100Mbitps speed-option on the nic-controller of the notebook. Does anyone knows a solution for this problem???? I realy get frustrated by this problem.......... Thx for reply up front.
