Hi there guys This build suggestion is for people who have 500$ or building something to replace their X-box or Play station If its your first build then welcome to the PC community! Intel Build PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VJdKLk CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Hitachi Deskstar 7K2000 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Total: $494.85 What's in here? For what it is the intel Pentium is one of the sought after CPU's for it's price bracket with solid performance and support for nearly anything its a great choice for starters or people wanting a "bang for your buck" Cpu. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a legendary cooler with excellent performance for its price. It may be a bit large but overall its a got to option MSI h81M- A solid Micro Atx board and a great price bracket from it. Dont expect much in terms of overclocking but you can still have decent overclocks on your Video Card Gigabytes 960 Windforce is a brilliant card with maaxwell in it there is nothing in there which the card cant run at 1080p. If you want more info i suggest you visit Linus' Videos on this Card AMD Build PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mgGrCJ CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Total: $507.64 What's in here? I am no expert when it comes to Amd however i can tell you that the CPU for its value has more cores than the Intel counterpart. Aswell as this the R9 280 has more Vram so it can handle higher settings before bottlenecking. Otherwise you will have to refer to This Video Here! Thats it for now! if you want to post comments feel free to ! I will upload my 900$ and 1500$ builds later o in the day... So I'm asking for a simple opinion. I'm not using it for a build. I'd just like to know what people's favorite motherboard brand is? (Optional) What's your favorite motherboard in particular? (Doesn't have to be in your build.) I'll start. I LOVE Asus. Love their BIOS, board colors and styles. I just am an ASUS fanboy. I love their cards to. My favorite motherboard is the ASUS Z97 PRO GAMER because of it's coloring, and it supports SLI. and it's only $230 (AUD)

Short Version: Hello, suddenly my monitor stopped recognizing my GPU, but when i plug it in to the motherboard display, it works. I found out that my motherboard stopped recognizing my GPU, and the display adapter is my motherboard one (ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics). I have this Gpu for the last 2 months and it was working perfectly. Detailed Version: Hello, I have an R9 280x from MSI, and ive been using it for the last 2 months, but the GPU it self it's almost 2 years old, its been working perfectly, but today i plugged in a new HDD and there was no signal coming from the computer, so e removed and cleaned my GPU, when attempting the 2nd boot, same problem, i am really confused because all the fans spins, and the GPU warms a bit, so that means that is working, so it might be a motherboard problem? I dont know. Things I've Tried: Disabling OnBoard GPU Loading motherboard´s default settings Setting PCI-E to priority in my BIOS Removing The Ram and booting up with only one stick at the time Reinstalling GPU Formatting Pc and reinstalling drivers Things I havent tryed: Testing the GPU in another computer Ive reserch every where and i cant find a solution, i hope you guys can help me fixing this. And yes everything is propely connected, im sure of that.

Alright, so... I kind-of cheaped out on the CPU cooler for my rig. I have a shitty Cooler Master X Dream 4, which isn't so great, but it did the job fine. However, I had been considering getting a Hyper 212 Evo. I was recently looking up more about the differences in these coolers, when I noticed something else: the X Dream 4 supposedly only handles CPUs up to 65W TDP, and I have an i5 4670k which is said to be 84W. So, I need some help, as I'm definitely not an expert with this aspect of my rig - does this matter that much and should I upgrade to something like the 212? If I go with the 212, the installation looks very different from the rather simplistic (four pins, cylindrical) X Dream 4, and I was wondering if it's enough of a far cry from the X Dream 4 that I should consider the space in my case or if I can even set it up on my mobo? I don't know much about CPU coolers but the 212 looks great and I want to make sure I can get it working fine, because I have a feeling I should be getting a better cooler anyway. Thanks for any help!

After seeing all of the awesome new lens technology and the random rise of the "Selfie Stick" at CES this year, I'm looking for a nice set of 3-4 lenses for my Note 3. I purchased some on Amazon a little while ago and cancelled the order because there's so many and I just want the right ones. Amazon is the preferred source because well... gift cards. Thanks and have a good one!

EDIT2: TAKING ONE REQUEST FOR A BOOK! THE GUIDLINES BELOW: 1) available on chegg.com 2) has a free preview EDIT: Also I forgot to mention that this falls under Fair Use - as S.W.I.M is not profiting or hurting anybody. (possible loss of revenue does not apply) There's this website you can buy books or ebooks of most books and textbooks. If you order a physical book you get a 7 day ebook trial while waiting for the mail. Best of all, they give you "free 30 pages" to check the book out before you consider buying The website code is so crappy that Somebody who isn't me has been just editing the javascript via google's devkit, downloading the pages (they're images), and making an ebook via Adobe Acrobat. Saved thousands on textbooks. Not stealing, not pirating, just changing a line of code is something already given to me Also we can all agree textbooks are the biggest rip. A semester is 2.5 months, to hell if I spend 300$ on a bio book that is firewood after the semester. Screenie attached

Looking for a very good flat mic for just talking. I want it to be XLR and with that I need an AMP. I was looking at the AT2050 as it is $229 and bundled with some cool stuff. As the amp goes I don't know much after that. I don't have a sound card if that matters but is there a better mic for the same price? The RoosterTeeth Podcast uses this mic and I love the sound of it. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT2050-Multi-Pattern-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00FGGE7UM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1435952052&sr=8-2&keywords=AT2050

My GTX760 just doesn't cut it for games any more. I plan on getting a GTX980ti during the Amazon 20th anniversary sale not for a price reduction but just to have them in stock from Amazon not some 3rd party seller jacking the prices. Just recently EVGA came out with the Classified Edition for the 980ti. it's $699 so still in the budget but would you actually see a major difference with that extra 40 dollars? It has a 14+3 power phases and larger fans with plates on the Vram too. I know the normal ACX wasn't really cooling much with the backplate reaching temps of 115C on the back. What do you guys think, I am already spending $650 why not spend $50 more for higher overclocks and a cooler card. http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-4998-KR

All around, this computer aint cutting it. This build was shown in a video, promising great results for around 400$. At first, things ran fine, but now i get low fps in games that used to run fine. Ex: L4d2 ran fine with high settings. Now, i only get the same fps when there isnt much going on on-screen. (UPDATE: i am now able to run dayz at a playable fps for some reason 20-50 fps. not sure what ive done) These are my specs Operating System Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit ( I was using this when i first built my pc december 2014. I then went from win7 32 bit back to win 8 after not seeing improvement) CPU Intel Pentium G620 @ 2.60GHz (considering replacing with an i5 or i3, whichever allows me to have a good cpu & gpu) Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology RAM 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (8-8-8-20) Motherboard ASRock H61M-VG3 (CPUSocket) Graphics DTV-C7V (1920x1080@60Hz) 2048MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6670 (XFX Pine Group) Storage 465GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKX-753CA1 (SATA) Now im wondering what can i do to play my games smoothly. There isnt exactly a budget, but i'm not trying to buy 1000$ parts. What should be replaced? Or anything added?

Here we meet again So I wasn't sure where to put this so I'll put it in off-topic. Well I found a single RAM-Stick of 8 GB lying around and I am curious if I can simply put it in my system (currently have 2x8GB). If it will help I am gonna put it in as it won't do much lying around and crying. AND: Merry X-Mas everyone Now for reading this you deserve this :

So after investigating on what could be causing the weird buzz that my PC has I found that there was a massive dust build up everywhere, so I cleaned it up. Then I got side tracked again and removed the stock cooler on my 6800k black edition and thought, lets remove the thermal compound for no apparent reason. So now I think it would be worthwhile to get a new cooler while I get thermal paste. Alright so my first thought was the 212X, however I'm open to other options and I can probs go as high as $100 for a cooler but I'd prefer to stay like $30-$80. Thanks soaringchicken

Hello Basically i need help picking a new keyboard, I am in the UK so i need to be able to purchase it here. My color scheme is black and white. Preferably a black board with white keys (preferably blank) I am willing to change key caps if they can be helped sourced as-well. I would like a 10 key less as I only have a small desk. No back lighting, but if that's the only option then white is the only color. Cherry MX Blues or Browns. As simple looking as possible. The nova touch KL is gorgeous but im not sure about the key switches. No more than like £130 in total. Ive been looking at the KBT poker 2 but im not sure if you can replace the key caps on that as theyre very compact, and also im not sure if that'd be too small to game on. Ill be mainly playing CSGO and WOW. Cheers Everyone. Sam

Hi guys, I was planning on attaching a Kraken X41 with a Kraken G10 bracket to my reference cooled GTX 980. My card manufacturer is Gigabyte and I was wondering if doing this will void the warranty or cause any other problems. Cheers.

Hey guys, My Gigabyte GTX 980 reference cooled card is running at some pretty stupidly high idle temps. Just after booting, while sitting at the desktop, Afterburner reports the card is at 40% GPU power and at a temperature of 50C. Is there something wrong with my card? Can I fix this?

With the launch of the GTX 970 and 980 cards, and the discontinuation of the 700 series, is is possible for the price of the 780 and 780ti to drop even just a little bit? I love the look of the reference 780 ti and it has fairly spectacular performance when gaming... Is there any chance that it would drop after production stops, or will it stay at the $700 (GTX 780ti) and $350 (GTX 780) mark, or will it increase due to less of these cards being available? Or do you suggest a 980 reference, for the cost of some cooling temperatures? Maybe the 980 reference? I don't really know, and thats why I'm asking you guys. P.S. -- I've been looking and I can't seem to find a reference 970... is there such a thing? Thanks, JAB
