Greetings, Me and my partners are in the work to build a platform that will allow developers and programmers "skip the queue" so to say regarding deployment and maintenance of self developed services in the cloud. Basically we are working on a portal at first, that will allow you simply inatruct our platform what backend engine / language you use, and we wil ldeploy the service into your environment. Would love to hear some of your input: 1. How long does it usually takes you to deploy a service 2. How big is your devops team (if any) 3. What are the major "sore points" in your current "devops workflow"? 4. What is your major "engine" for services? (I.e. python, react, pure nodejs, .net etc) 5. Would you agree to be quoted on that in our marketing strategy? If so i will reach out in private (please dont leave your contact info out in the open...) Thanks!

This is just for my own curiosity. Not for any other reason. You can copy and paste the headings and add your own answers. I'll start Which GPU: 3070Ti (MSI Ventus 3x) Price paid: £799+p&p Where from (no need to name actual place or person), new or used and when: New from a major UK online retailer, September 2021 Reason: I wanted a 3070 or better and this was one of 2 choices they had in stock at 799 one was a 3070 and one was this Ti. Went for Ti for the GDDR6X. Glad or sad about it: Glad. That price doesn't seem bad now and retailer stock is non existent. Some people say this is "the worst 3070Ti" but it's pretty damn good in my opinion. Reliable, quiet and excellent performance. If they were all available at msrp I probably would have picked a different one but purely just for aesthetic reasons.

Ok, so I can't stop thinking about the idea Linus and Luke were talking about on last week's WAN show... A small private rental space that's outfitted like a baller home theater... I'm curious if there's actual interest from people who would want to rent something like that... So, I made a little survey... https://forms.gle/HrNZV5cYezZQxdm8A

Just thought it would be interesting to see the range of gaming platforms people use, and why you use/prefer it over other platforms. Would also be interesting to see new or odd platforms many people don't know about, and unique reasons why people prefer some platforms over others. These platforms can range from desktops to laptops, prebuilts to DIY builds, consoles, cloud gaming, mobile, etc. Please be kind and respectful of other people's opinions. Please do not shame others for their opinion/platform. Thanks to all of those who respond and are respectful!

I would like to submit the chartering of a new group of earthly wonders: The Seven Wonders of the Digital World! This is an idea that I've had in my mind and think it would be really cool to at least ponder and consider. I think that the Internet, and by extension, all computers, have given us the opportunity to create things with near infinite possiblities. Despite all the negative and cruel things that can happen in the virtual world, the Seven Wonders of the Digital World give us the opportunity to appreciate the good and edifying influences it can have on society, through sharing our personal experiences and goodwill with others. As such, rather than just hammer out a list with only my subjective input, I want everyone here to submit their own nominations to what they believe should be considered a wonder of the digital world worth cherishing. I'll start with a submission of my own: C To most people it might be just a letter but to those that have dipped their toes into the realm of computers it doesn't just represent part of a language, it is language. The C language and it's extension in C ++ is the bedrock over which much of the internet and popular programs exist today. Before web development tools and alternative languages existed, C language virtually created the known web (with help from a few other languages) in both senses of the word. Most games today run on engines designed on its C ++ extension and without it, the gaming landscape would almost certainly look radically differnt to today. There may be a time when C language becomes obsolete but regardless of when it goes quietly into the twilight, for better or worse, the impact it has had on all things electronic has left and will continue to leave a strong legacy behind it. With that, I want to hear what you consider to be a wonder of the digital world and why. If your just here to contribute or just lurk around, I wish you all a terrific day and many digital blessings! Cheers! (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ (◕ω◕✿)

Hi, we are a group of friends starting a computer mouse project from scratch. Currently we are in design phase. We have decided to use a survey to gather different opinions regarding concept designs of mice we came up with in order to define which mouse is viewed most attractive to end-user. We figured out that it would be a good idea to put this survey on this forum as it is a tech-forum and we could possibly get some precise information and honest opinions / criticism. We would be really grateful if You all could participate in this survey (takes only 2-3 minutes) as it would help us a lot moving forward and generating further ideas. In survey you shall find 3 different mouse model renders and will be asked to evaluate these mice ergonomics / perceived material quality and design esthetics. Thank You for those that are willing to lend us a helping hand. p.s. we don't know if these kind of posts are allowed here, but asking for moderators permission to post here. Survey requires e-mail, but if you prefer to remain anonymous just type fake e-mail when prompted, that is fine. Attaching link to survey : https://forms.gle/4daqiJViw8EXjA9Y9

Hello Guys, I want to create a survey with 5 question with 3 different answers each ( Yes, No, Other ). Option 1) If answer is "No" or "Other", user should be able to upload image, video, pdf Option 2) User must answer these questions and can upload image, video, pdf I have done it via Google Forms , but on photo uploading they have to sign in to google to upload it. I don't like this option. Also responded answers are fit in 1 CSV file, I would like to get them individually in excel or word or something else for each user with attached image, video, pdf. I don't know if this is crazy, but if you can help me or suggest I would be glad. This will look like a report, these users have to fill survey till starting to work. There is about 50 user, so each user might can fill this survey twice or three or even four times a day before starting to work. Thank you in Advance

(This is my first post. If I make any mistake, please let me know. Thanks.) ————————————_ I watched this TechQuickie video: At 03m:45s, Linus says: I am making this poll to find out whether this is true. I already made a poll on this Apple criticism forum, where 100% of the votes voted for replaceable batteries. And I would not even bother much if there was still the option to get a decent phone (i.e. 2160p@60fps video recording, >20W fast charging) in combination to replaceable batteries. Sadly, manufacturers have succumbed to Apple's design trend. (And the Galaxy Xcover Pro only has pathetic 1080p@30fps video recording, which even the S2 from 2011 has. At least, it has decent 15 Watts of fast charging.) My opinion I wrote this essay about why I consider non-user-replaceable batteries as a terrible design trend. In a nutshell: Like many people, I personally care much more about being able to simply replace the shortest-lifespan part of a mobile phone than slim design. Replaceable batteries also allow guilt-free fast charging and full charging cycles, both of which wear down the battery quickly. I cherish fast charging, and I would rather blast that power into the anytime-replaceable battery than feeling guilt knowing that this trapped battery can not simply be replaced once it expires. Non-replaceable batteries are, by definition, a form of planned obsolescence. It compromises the freedom of the phone user. Although a phone repair service can still repair it, the repair costs multiple times as much as the replacement battery itself, and will likely irreversibly damage the water resistance seal. I would much rather be able to replace the phone battery within minutes (open/unscrew back cover; old battery out; new battery in; done!) than having to go to a phone repair shop, let someone do a battery surgery on my phone and hope that he does not accidentially break any delicate parts. Here is an essay from some news site that also mentions this point. Side note: An expired phone battery does not just have a lower capacity, but a lower power output and charging speed and could also be a safety hazard. The effects include accidental shutdowns. Practically, one failing part makes the entire device useless. Here is an essay by me on why it is particularly bad on iPhones. Batteries are supposed to be replaced like car wheels. Compromises That video mentions that replaceable batteries lead to compromises, which I have debunked here. In a nutshell: All these compromises can be compensated with measures that require a bit of space inside the device, but this is a compromise that 100% of the votes on this poll would happily take. “But I get a new device each year anyway!” If you can afford it, sure. But users should be upgrading their phones because they appreciate the feaures and improvements, not because the battery of their current phone is failing. But there is still some work that needs to be done, like setting up the new device, installing the software, etc. , which might bother some uses, but might be trivial to others. Also, many users might be perfectly happy with their current phone or want to use it as a secondary device after upgrading. Also, manufacturers sometimes remove features from newer devices that some users found useful. An entire device should not be rendered useless because one part has reached the end of its lifespan. This poll I made proves how much people value battery lifespan. They would rather have a battery with less capacity and speed but much more lifespan than vice versa. ————————————————————————— I would love to hear your opinion on it. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Let me know.

Hi guys This is my first post in this forum so i would love to greet everyone. So, let's go straight to the point: I'm designing a small form factor pc, with the idea that it should be able to carry powerful hardware inside, while still being beautiful and easy to build with. I'm almost at the end of the planning but i have to decide if and how many ports should i put on the front. On one hand i would love to have a super clean design at the front ( no ports), as it is also less problematic; but on the other when you have to plug something like a drive it is nice to have the port ready to use, even if the case is small. I'll welcome every suggestion from you, and please be sincere answering the pool! Thanks again! ( I'm sorry if there are some mistakes, but english is not my 1st lenguage)
