My power supply gets noisy when not touching the pc case but when you turn it on, it makes the sound again. is it nearing to the near end or is it very bad power supply. I had some problems when the voltage dropped and computer turned self off to prevent any damage from the power supply. is it time to put it to garbage? it doesn't shut off when underload or when gaming for few hours, just makes this annoying noise. Should i avoid these power supply's. and what power supply i should buy next to have enough power for future upgrades and graphics cards? i attached a picture of the power supply

I purchased an Antec mini itx case that came with a 90 watt power supply. There is a board in the case with a 20 pin to 24 pin jumper, as well as a cpu power connector, a couple of sata power connectors, and a molex. I'm running a Ryzen 5 3400g on an aorus b450 pro wifi, no discreet graphics card. I cannot get it to turn on. I brought it down to the bare minimum, cpu, noctua low profile cooler, 500gb m.2, and one stick of corsair vengeance 8gb 3000mhz. It will not boot. Can I just plug in a higher wattage power supply, or do I need to change out the board inside to accept a higher wattage?

Hi, I'm about to upgrade an old pc by putting a 2400g ryzen 5 with 8 gb ram (1.35v or 1.30v depending on pricing) and a gigabyte b450m ds3h mobo. I have an old power supply laying in the house with 300W rated(put some pictures too cause I might be wrong). TheI question is: cand this power supply hold the wholr pc with a wd caviar blue 250 hdd and 1-3 small fans for the case.

Hello guys! I had my PC for around 2 years already and I really hate the sound, which the PSU makes (It's a no-name brand chinese 450W-ish unit) and I recently saved up a bit of money to replace it. Now, in my region, PSUs are generally rare and if you get lucky and find a good one, it's overpriced, but I found a Corsair P5-550 for 20ish USD and I'm wondering if it's worth buying. Currently, I have a 3570 and a 1050 in my rig, but I'm planning to get a 570, so should I pair it with this? Corsair is a good brand and spec sheet looks good, but I couldn't find any reviews on it so that's why I came here. So I recently just built my PC and I'm wondering if I can place my AE86 and R34 Tomica cars directly on the PSU? As you can see my case doesn't have like a cage (or box?? I have no idea what that part is called) that hides the PSU. Is there any danger to it?

So... here's the story... I'm British, heading to university in a couple of weeks, to start a Computer Science Degree. I'm going to be living in Halls of Residence for my first year, and have decided to splash out a little on my accommodation, buying one of the more expensive options. While selecting my accommodation, I email the accommodation providers asking if having my custom built computer (specs below) in my room will be an issue, and all of them said not at all. I find the room I want, get my tenancy agreement after my first deposit, and... I'm not allowed appliances over 200W. I email the support team, asking for more information about this, and they say once things go over 200W, some form of limiter will trip and my room will be void of power. So... a computer science student without his computer... Classy.... So, after a little brainstorming, I had a thought: using a UPS to draw <200W from the wall, but output whatever the computer needs. Now, I'm not sure if this will work, or if it's possible (I've never had a UPS). To the best of my understanding, the UPS acts as a form of battery, so in theory, while I'm not using the computer, the UPS charges. When I am using my computer, it will draw power from the UPS at the same rate that the UPS can be charged back up (if the load is <200W). If my PC runs >200W, then the UPS drains, whilst drawing <200W from the wall, therefore not tripping any Wattage-limiters. And yes, I understand that if my PC is reliant on the UPS, it can drain and die at any moment (I'll just have to work that out when I get there). Any advice or correction on this topic would be great. Thanks in advance! I'm currently in the process of upgrading a 2012 custom build. The specs are: Intel Core i3-2120 CPU Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 Motherboard 8GB Ram 2 x 7200 RPM Hard drives (500GB, 2TB) Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500W Power Supply Antec Three Hundred Case (2 fans) Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 Graphics Card I bought an EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSC to replace the Sapphire Radeon 7770. However, I found that my power supply did not have enough connectors for the graphics card. The card requires 2 6-pin connectors, but the Cooler Master PSU only has one 6-pin connector which was enough for the Sapphire but not the 1060. After searching I found this Seasonic G Series 650 80+ Gold (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00918N4A0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1). Would this be enough to power the system and have the appropriate connectors needed for the system? Thanks in advance.

So, i have a fujifilm S3280, it takes 4 AA batteries and i would like to connect it to the mains, it doesnt have a normal socket to input power, but it does have the little flap in the battery compartment for display power(for display in a store), where would i be able to get one of these store display adapters?

Just a quick question, I was wondering if I may need a higher wattage psu, if someone could just check out my build in my signature and compare it with this screenshot, that would be really helpful. Keep in mind my CPU is clocked up to 5.0GHZ. My GPU is not currently running an oc but I plan to push this 1080ti to the limit for gaming. Thanks!

Okay, so today I bought a Logitech F710 gamepad (wireless) and it came with a usb nanoreceiver. I tested it out and it works great, however I have a question. My pc keeps supplying power to the usb ports when it's shut down (I haven't found a way to disable this) and I want to know - should I leave my nanoreceiver plugged in when the computer's turned off? Could the constant power supplied by the usb ports damage the nanoreceiver in any way?

Asus X99 Deluxe 2 Corsair Ax860i Intel 6900k @ 4.2 Ever since ive had this configuration, and it has never not been this, I get random "one-click" shut downs and restarts. I looked up the issue and found it was a pretty common problem with my power supply. Tonight however, it did a one click shut off but did not restart. It turns out that now if I click the power button, it stays on for about 1 second, the CPU LED cuts on, then shuts off abruptly. I have reason to believe it is my power supply, but I have also seen the same problem with the board online where it only stays on for 1 second, also with a 6900k. I don't have the resources to test the CPU and Motherboard myself, but I do with the power supply. My computer configuration calls for at least 800 watts. I have a 650 watt power supply currently on hand. Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but could I still test with the 650 watt to post and/or to windows lock screen safely? My reasoning is that is shouldn't be using 800 watts of power in the BIOS or windows lock screen just yet. Is that Ok?

My friend at work just put a brand new Thermaltake PSU in his computer. He got an error on his motherboard, would no longer work. Replaced mobo, upgraded to i7 8700k, redid cable management. When he booted it killed 6.5 TB of HDD's, 4 drives, but didn't hurt his SSD and later pretty much fried the new motherboard. We both have built several machines and work with computers everyday and it just doesn't make sense that a new power supply would do this. Cables should have all been the new ones that came with the PSU. We found that the plastic piece that you plug your cables into the PSU for power came out very easily. Is there something I'm missing, or does this just seem like a faulty unit?

So I am doing a budget build soon and I have all the parts picked out. I am going to be running a Ryzen 3 1200, ASRock B350 Pro 4 (micro ATX), 8gb ddr4, 1tb hdd, GTX 1050Ti, and I needed to know what the best power supply is that I could buy for $30-$45. Please Help! One last thing is don't count the rebates because I am always too lazy to do rebates. -
So im gonna build a new pc in one of the coming months and is looking at what i Will be able to take from my current pc to the new one like my hard drive and ssd and was wondering if taking my psu over to my new system would be bad in any way? like would buying a new psu give me any performance increase over just keeping the one i have? you can see the psu i have on the Picture

What's up with high power PSUs? I looked for XFX Pro 1250w and XFX XTR 1250w but they're out of stock like everywhere. I don't want to again run with pitchforks to mining but is looks like kind of weird to me... Or is it just coincidence?

i recently upgraded my build and installed a maximus x hero, 8700k, 16gb 3200 ddr4 ram, and an corsair rm850x. once i got everything setlled i opened up steam and then my psu started going louder than any of my other fans. any help would be appreciated ^-^

Hey guys, so I just recently had this problem of my desktop turning off a split second after pressing the power button (have confirmed that there's not short on the power button) which happens occasionally. I have tried reseating every component on the motherboard, resetting the CMOS, using the default settings in the motherboard BIOS and no bad capacitors on the motherboard but the problem still persists. I have done the paper clip test on my PSU but it checks out fine. It seems to work fine when I remove the graphics card but when I reseat in while the computer is turned on, it shuts down immediately. Can a graphics card cause this? Or is there like a power delivery problem of some sort going on with my motherboard? Lastly, can it mean a problem with my PSU (using correct voltage BTW) even though it checks out fine with the paper clip test? Hey guys, I have an about 10 year old PSU - Corsair HX620 that I want to use for my new build. It was moderately used for the first 3-5 years and then it was pretty much shelved until I decided to build myself a new rig this year. From what I have read online is it is one of the most reliable PSU's of its time, but I am not sure if it would be compatible with something out of this decade LOL. My new build: Intel - Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler Asus - STRIX Z270-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory SanDisk - SSD PLUS 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Asus - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB Strix Video Card Based on PC Parts picker estimate I will be needing 315 W. I don't mind spending another 150 or so bucks on a new psu, but if I can save it then why not Let me know what you think !
