1. Where and are there any 80 plus silver PSUs? all i find currently when searching for psu these days are just bronze, gold and plat  2. Since an 8 pin pcie connector can deliver twice the amount of power a 6 pin pcie connector can, Are there any 8 pin pcie to 2 6 pins pcie adapter? -thats it for now-

I'm in the market for a UPS, but not sure where to start in terms of who to go to for a good solution. It would have to be an online type model, and preferably would be able to provide around 800-1000W of real power (not VA). If there is a rackmounted option out there, do let me know.

Hey guys, sorry for yet another "will this power supply be enough for this build" -thread. Its just that I've become slightly uncomfortable with my inital decision to go with a 600 Watt Silverstone Strider (ST60F-PS) PSU for the build I'm planning. Here's what I plan to use in this build: -i7 4770k -Asus z87i-pro -16 GB Kingston HyperX Black -Radeon R9 290 (non-reference cooler, hoping for an ASUS DirectCU) -NZXT Kraken X40 watercooler -120 GB Kingston SSD -1TB WD Green -All-Noctua fans -And finally the Silverstone ST60F-PS with the short cable-set, since this is an ITX build inside a Fractal Node 304. I've used all kinds of PSU calculators but none of them actually list the R9 290, so I instead went with the (usually listed) R9 280x in the dropdown-menus. It usually gives me a recommendation for a 600-Watt PSU such as the ST60F-PS, which would be great because the Silverstone Strider is fully modular, will fit the Node 304 and there's a short cable set, which is important to me. The problem is that I have no idea how much more power the R9 290 uses, compared to the 280x. Gigabytes website recommends a 600W PSU for the R9 290, but I've also read recommendations of up to 750W. Does anyone have any precise information on how much power a system like this will pull from the wall? Its an ITX build, so no future SLI/Xfire or anything. I do however plan to do some overclocking, nothing to extreme though, maybe 4.5 Ghz, give or take. I'd really love to stick with the Silverstone PSU, its the only modular PSU I know of, that is short enough to fit the Node 304 and has short cables available. Will it be enough? Thanks in advance Also, what do you think of this build?

So I am building my first PC(which is gaming orientated), with a budget of $350. the estimated wattage from the build is around 133. Would a 250 watt power supply that I scavenged from an HP Pentium 4 system be sufficient for the computer? **Partslist* http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Wz8TZL

hi I would usually figure this out by myself but my graphics card is very hard to find the details about since It came with the custom built PC I paid for before I upgraded the motherboard and i7 My specs are Intel i7 4770k VTX3D ATi R9 270x 1x8GB RAM 1600mhz MSI Z87-G43 Motherboard Corsair 200R Case Seagate Barracuda 1TB I currently have 600W Corsair installed but i want to use a semi-modular 500W poer supply to save a bit of money, hoping this is enough haha

So, I'm buying a new graphics card, XFX R9 290. I have a 600W PSU and I'm not sure that's going to be enough for my system. PC Specs: CPU Intel Core i5 3330 3.0Ghz Motherboard ASUS P8B75-M LE RAM Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2x4GB) Case Fractal Design ARC Mini R2 Storage Seagate 465GB PSU Corsair CX600 600W Builder Series Cooling 2xFractal Design Silent R2 120mm fans, 1xFractal Design Silent R2 140mm fans Keyboard MS Office Keyboard Mouse MS mouse Sound on-board sonud car I'm in the middle of upgrading my PC, so far I bought new RAM, case. Future stuff: R9 290, new led fans/led strips. I think my PSU is 80+ , no more. Will 600W be enough to power the whole system, even on full load? We're talking cpu&gpu stress tests here, I want my system to be as stable as it can.

Which of these power supplies is better? I mean the quality of the components from which this power supply is made. Power supplies from Seasonic are the best and there is nothing better than them. But is the MSI MPG A650GF 650W 80 Plus Gold power supply inferior to the Seasonic Focus GX 650W 80 Plus Gold? Tell me how they differ.

What is the worst Power supply brand? The Best brand? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments to warn others of the worst or best things you've touched inside you PC. I have had purely great results with Seasonic PSUs and my Intel Q6600 is still going strongly powered and pulling a 2.99Ghz OC and running Euro truck simulator at 26 fps on just above lowest with a gtx 660 and 8 GB ddr2 ram... Someday I shall upgrade to a Xeon E3-1230 v3

Hey there Guys, I'm trying to decide on a Seasonic Power Supply for my new PC Build. The power usage is about 600w total and I'm going for an AMD Radeon R9 290 for the graphics card. These are the ones I'm looking at: Seasonic P1000W Platinum 80Plus Platinum Fully Modular Fantastic Reviews From Pretty Much Everywhere 7 Year Warranty Overkill For This Build But Has Room To Expand Later On For Things Like Additional Graphics Cards -€215 Seasonic Platinum 760W 80Plus Platinum Fully Modular Also Gets Awesome Reviews From Pretty Much Everywhere 7 Year Warranty Better Matches The Total Wattage Amount I Need But Won't Be Enough For A Second Graphics Card Later On -€195 Seasonic SS-750RM 750W 80+ Gold Hybrid Modular 80Plus Gold Semi - Modular Very Good Reviews From Most Websites, Not Quite As Good as The Platinum, But Close 5 Year Warranty Same Cons as Platinum, Semi Modular Won't Be As Useful For Cable Management, But Way Cheaper -€125 I've pretty much decided on Seasonic for the PSU as they have received great reviews on nearly all of their power supplies on HardOCP and Jonnyguru. I want something that's gonna last for the long term that I'm not going to have to replace for a few years. The PC will be used for gaming and video rendering, so it'll be used at that wattage amount for most of the usage time, so I don't mind spending a bit extra if it means getting a good PSU. The G-Series is a lot cheaper but is the extra money worth going for the Platinum for things like better efficiency and easier cable management? In the case of the 1000w will my system be horribly inefficient using about 600w of power out of the 1000w it can provide vs going with something rated a bit closer like 750w? Any wisdom appreciated! Hello everyone. So, I plan on buying a R3 1200/B350M Mortar/Crucial Ballistix 8gb ddr4/RX 560 Pulse build. I want to overclock the R3 1200 since it offers a way better performance when OC'd. So here comes the question. What power supply should I buy? I am thinking of an Evga B3 450w, since it is fully modular and it has full black cables. Will it be enough? If you have other reccomendations, please tell them. But 2 preferences before saying: 1. No ketchup n' mustard cables. If possible. 2. It shouldn't cost more than 45-50 USD. The lower, the better. Thanks a lot.

Anyone know of a standard cheap 750w power supply

Can anyone help me find a psu and a monitor appropriate for this build? Budgets= psu 100 euro; monitor 250 euro

Okay so long story short, my friends power supply stopped working so I said to send it back to EVGA. I said send it back as if you were selling it on ebay or something so they will have no problem fixing it. So he sends it without the cables and just sent the unit off, they come back with a 'newer version' today and apparently the motherboard pin doesn't fit in the slot... see pictures that he sent me... I have no idea what he is on about, I thought that all power cables were exactly the same and have been for years, I don't think I'm wrong here. He originally had this one http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=120-G1-0750-XR And they sent him back the newer version, and apparently it the 24 pin cable doesn't fit in the power supply http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=220-G2-0750-XR

Hey People! I'm building my first pc this year and after a lot of research and video watching I chose the following parts, but I don't if the whole build is worth the 1800$ bucks it will cost me. Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A ATX GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SuperClocked ACX Cooler 3GB Processor: Intel Core i7-4790K RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR3 Hardrive: WD Green 2 TB Hard Drive SSD: Samsung Electronics 840 EVO 120GB SSD Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H105 Liquid CPU Cooler Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DX 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz Sound Card (Not really an Audiophile) Power Supply: Corsair RM Series 750 Watt 80PLUS Gold Power Supply Case: NZXT Phantom 410 Mid Tower Case The 3 things that bother me in this build are: The Mobo, with this build I'm trying to leave space for future upgrades but I don't know if should get the Z97-A or my second option, the Z97-PRO (I'm a newbie in this so I don't know how much of a difference is there between both, apart from the obvious connectivity); the PSU, because I'm not really sure if the 750w power will be able to get going dual GTX 780's in the near future; and the Case, because after watching the thickness of the radiator in the CPU cooler I'm not sure if the case will be able to fit over the motherboard. NOTES: I should mention this computer will be used on both video editing and gaming, I'm trying to follow a blue and black color scheme (But I don't really mind other small details like the gold ones on the Z97 boards), and have a budget of around 1800$ like i said at the start. Thank you in advance (And sorry for the stupid title and my grammar if there are any mistakes. )

I need suggestions on what power supply I should buy for my next build. I'm in the process of selecting my computer setup and I thought that I would drop this question in the forums to get any and all the suggestions I can. I'll list my components now. I'm still unsure if im going to be running an optical drive and I'm also unsure about which SSD I'm going to put in. I'm hopefully going to put all of this in a Corsair 760T computer case. Motherboard - Asus X99 Deluxe LGA2011-3 CPU - Intel Haswell-E Core i7-5930K LGA2011-3 GPU - Asus GeForce GTX 980 RAM - Corsair DDR3 16GB 2400MHz Dual Memory CPU cooler - Corsair Hydro Series H110 280mm Extreme Performance Also I may be adding to this build so any power supply suggestions that give me some extra power to work with will be appreciated. Thanks!

How many case fans will I be able to run off a Be Quiet! 850w? And are there any adapters to run more?

Right now i have a 750W Coolermaster that i am maxing out under full system load Nothing shuts down but it gets scary hot and the one LED i have plugged in Almost shuts off. (i put that led there to see power flow because i thought this was a bad idea to start with) So before i burn my house down i would like to upgrade to a ~1000W maybe. Not entirely sure how high i need to go I want expandability for Some LED light strips and Maybe a new Water cooling Loop. Full-semi Modular is a must because i hate just wadding up extra cables somewhere and trying to untangle them later.

Hi there good people of this forum. I am looking at buying a new case for my build (MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Motherboard, Intel i5-4690k, MSI GTX 760 OC 2GB, Antec Kühler H2O 950). I currently have this build in a CM Storm Scout, but it is a bit tight with very little cable management room. Also only 1 system fan intake on the front doesn't allow for much air flow, as the CPU cooler radiator is on the rear 120mm fan mount. And because of the size of the radiator I've had to remove the top fan. Anyway, I'm looking at getting a new case, mid tower. I've been looking at: Antec P280 windowed, Fractal Design Define R4, CM Storm Scout 2 (really like the handles on my current scout) Fractal Design Define XL R2 (can get for decent price). My main worry about the case it that my CPU cooler will fit easily in the case. The Antec one is a decent size so it should be fine, but I prefer the look of the Fractal R4. Then I saw the Fractal XL R2 and thought that could work as well. Does anyone have any advice or know if the CPU cooler will fit fine in all the above cases? Also if you have any other case recommendations, I'm eager to hear them. (I haven't listed the NZXT H440 as it's a little out of my price range, South African prices). Also, any PSU recommendations? Preferably modular or at least semi-modular, and around 650W-750W. Thanks guys

So I'm currently in the process of getting my parts together for a $1500-$1700 (Canadian) build. Most of the budget is being dumped into the GTX 980 so I'm finding ways to actually stay within budget. I can save some coin by running a lower wattage power supply, though I'm staying 80 plus gold or above. Will 650w be enough to power the system. Most likely some light overclocking on both cpu (i5 4690k) and gpu (980). SLI is not really part of future plans... thanks for the help.

I'm builiding my first desktop in a couple weeks and have everything set except for the PSU. It needs to be gold-rated, full-modular, and come from a reputable brand (also keeping in the price range). Build- Intel i7-5820k- microcenter has one at $300 near me, same price as a 4790k but with 4 more threads- count me in MSI X99s PLUS Corsair H100i Crucial Ballistix DDR4 8GB EVGA GTX780 ACX Phanteks Enthoo Pro Intel 740 SSD (got an excellent newegg deal) WD Caviar Blue HDD Windows 8.1 Random DVD drive, whatever is cheapest when I order it. Intel N6205 wifi card My uses will be gaming, photo/some video editing, and CAD (nothing too heavy, but still stuff like Inventor and Alias), but mostly gaming/CAD. I'm currently looking at http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Series-80PLUS-Gold-Certified-Supply/dp/B00EB7UITQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410210522&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+rm750 and http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-80PLUS-Certified-220-G2-0750-XR/dp/B00IKDETOW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1410210994&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+supernova+750 Any thoughts? Thanks in advance- and stay tuned for a build log soon!
