Does any one have a Razer Tartarus? And If so do you like it? I tried out a friends Nostromo and it was awesome but since they don't make that anymore I was thinking about getting a Tartarus.

Hey guys, so soon I will be building my first "real" computer and I decided to do a build log (or try to anyway). What I have right now is a 5 year old laptop with semi-broken hinges, trashed audio jack and pixel lines going all over the screen (well ok I will be honest I didn't really take good care for it and for that I am sorry). But besides that it is also getting slow and not powerful enough ( I pretty much cant run anything that came out after BF2, not without it lagging anyway.) Soo yes I am building a PC and here are the parts: Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Need to Order Motherboard: Maximus VI Formula Arrived CPU: Intel Haswell I5 4670k Arrived CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Need to Order RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 2x4GB 1600 MHz Arrived GPU: XFX Radeon HD 7950 DD Arrived HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Black Arrived SSD: Samsung 840 EVO Arrived PSU: Corsair AX 860 Need to Order Monitor: Asus MX23H Need to Order OS: Windows 8 64-bit English Arrived Keyboard: Microsoft Wired Keyboard Arrived Now don't freak out over the keyboard I just picked the cheapest keyboard I could find, since I need a keyboard obviously. Don't worry I will be buying a mechanical keyboard in the future Now my future PC isnt anything special, so no watercooling (unless you count the H100I) no modding (at least for now). But I tried to pick parts that go well together, so Black and Red as you may notice. I am going to try and overclock (hopefully won't burn anything ) and In the future I will be buying leds, better fans and sleeved cables (or maybe even try to sleeve myself, who knows) Again in the future I will be getting a second GPU a second Monitor and other stuff. But I think that for now this will be an awesome computer that will hopefully be able to run games on high settings with decent FPS, although considering what I'm coming from anything is an improvement. What I will be using it for is again games mostly: BF3, BF4, Planetside 2 (I will finally be able to run it. Fun story I've been wanting to play it since beta and I was doing anything I can to get a beta key and when i finally did, guess what... It didn't run with my GPU. But not anymore ) Anyway I digress, soo yeah I think that's pretty much it. I will try to take as much pics as I can and I will update this as parts arrive and as i make my PC. Soo wish me luck I guess and I will be seeing you around. B)

The below pictures are just examples and not explicitly what I'm asking about. Which would you prefer in any particular situation, where you had to have one, or the other directly influencing/affecting you (i.e. video game companies, the government, etc.)? Both or neither is not an option unfortunately. Malevolence (Evil) OR Incompetence (Stupid) Chart for reference: Where "Greed" is "Malevolence (Evil)". I personally would prefer incompetence. I can out-do incompetence. To a degree. Malevolence is harder to deal with since benevolence doesn't have a default (straightforward, understood) advantage. I don't know. What about you?

Hello fellow LTT'lers, i had a conversation with some guys on Facebook about the pro's and con's of being/becoming a Vegetarian/Vegan yesterday. Sadly it ended with some guy telling me to shut the fuck up without him even stating a single thing. They obviously were out of reasons for not being Veggy. I was the only Veggy/smart guy in that "discussion" btw. So i thought, why not ask other intelligent guys here on the forums for their opinion? The whole veggy thing is actually slowly becoming a thing here in germany but i think its very different in for example the US. I made this little poll for you to answer and i'd be so happy if you, in addition to that, state WHY exactly you chose your answer above. Thanks and greetings, Flo

Hey guys! I was using my PC just fine when this happened: Now I get this ugly effect when moving windows around. I've experienced this in the past but the only way I was able to solve it is by re-installing windows. I'm sure there is an easier way to fix this. Can anyone help me?

So I build a new gaming rig at a reasonable budget for people who have to work for their money, $600, I am sort of running windows 7 right now if you know what i mean. For that reason I am going to be running steam os and getting an intro to linux. My PC wont be near an ethernet port so it will be running on a wireless network. So what is the best Wireless Networking Card for SteamOS?

Google has now updated their voice search system to recognize relationship context to your contacts. You will now be able to search contacts and dial out just by saying 'call mom' or 'call uncle John' for example. Though the change is small, it is important for Google's ultimate goal, complete ant total domination of our lives (in a good way of course) With smarter search comes smarter apps and smarter ways of communicating to your device. Search results that are tailored to you rather than something general is a definite step in the right direction. Google will need these sorts of innovations in order to 'invade the home space' which is probably taking place sooner than we think with their recent acquisition of NEST, with their popular 'smart thermostat' and 'smart smoke detector' What do you guys and gals think? Positive or negate? Link to the Verge article.

Hi all! I'm thinking about getting a second pair of headphones, because I find that my current ones not really suitable for using anywhere other than at my desk. So I figured I would ask the awesome guys here for some suggestions. I'm kinda looking for portability, just for walking around at home, or maybe even using them when riding my bike to school. About IEMs, I don't really like them, so headphones are preferred. I've been looking at the: -Koss PortaPro's (obviously) for 30-40 euro's -Superlux HD681 EVO for 38 euro's, but they seem to be kinda big and not really suited for my use case. Detachable cable is nice, though. -Philips Uptown for 50-60 euro's, some people even say they're better than the one and only ATH-M50. That's about it, would love to hear some suggestions, I've probably missed some hidden gems. Thanks, -Kaasgeelheid. EDIT: just gonna leave this Dutch price comparison site here, might come in handy tweakers.net

I have an Asus Xonar Essence STX and as the title says it's bent in my case. Is this because of the little PCIE finger? I have the screws tightened all up for the rear port access. Is it maybe just a bent card? It's my first dedicated sound card so I don't know if they are all like that or not. Maybe it looks worse from my perspective . Anyways... Thanks!

so i was going to save something on my usb drive that was connected on the usb 3.0 front panel connection and the drive didn't show up on the computer so i disconnected and reconnected it again to see if that worked and nothing. the i try connecting it to the usb 3.0 header on the back on the case on the motherboard and it didn't work ether, so i restarted and the same thing happened so i connected it to my usb 2.0 and it worked. now i downloaded all the drivers from the msi web page and already did the thing when you don't let your computer turn of the usb connection on the control panel under harder manager and it didn't worked. i send a message to the msi stuff page and it said that it was a driver issue with the chipset or something like that, that i haven't downloaded the right drivers but they wont tell me what to download or what to do. do someone know what to do, like what drivers to download or do something on the bios, i cant find any setting like usb 3.0 on the bios. the motherboard is a MSI Z77A-G41. and i forgot, only my usb 2.0 drives work, the usb 3.0 drive when i connect it to the usb 2.0 port it doesn't read it, aren't they supposed to be backwards compatible. normally i would use my usb 3.0 drive on any usb port but now it doesn't even show up on the usb 2.0 ports. so nether of my usb 3.0 port works and my usb 3.0 flash drive wont be detected when connected to the usb 2.0 port. Thanks

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it would be better to get a 650ti boost, or a 7850 (similar pricing) or a r7-260x. I hear that the 260x is similar to a 7790, so a 7850 would be better at the same price ($140). The 7850 also comes with 2 games, and the 7790 comes with 1. Or is it worth saving the extra 80 ish and getting a 660 or 7950 (my processor is most likely gonna be the 6300 or an i3, leaning toward the fx) P.S I can buy from Newegg, NCIX, Tigerdirect, Amazon, and DO have a Microcenter nearby. EDIT: On newegg I found the 7850 for 130, and the 260x for 150 with shipping and the 650ti boost for 110.

This is from My friend. For some reason he doesn't want to post it himself "Hello there I’ve been having trouble with XSplit. As you can probably gather, I want to livestream my gameplay. But, unfortunately, I am running into a rather substantial problem with the streaming program. I am getting severe frame drops that cause the stream to ‘freeze’ for 3-4 seconds. My upload rate, according to XSplit, is (on average) 364kbps. It’s terrible, I know, but upgrading isn’t an option at the minute. At the minute, I can only properly stream The Binding of Isaac, due to it’s minimal load and graphical fidelity. Any other game, Payday 2 for example, will make my stream experience these frame drops. I’ll assume that it’s my poor upload rate not being able to keep up. Examples: Binding of Isaac: http://www.twitch.tv/gickrimes/b/547362788 Any other game, Payday 2 in this case : http://www.twitch.tv/gickrimes/b/547365251 NOTE: MY FPS IN GAME DOES /NOT/ DROP. What I am asking is, is there any way I can tweak the bitrate or any of the other settings in XSplit so I can stream games like Payday 2 similarly to BoI? I am willing to sacrifice some quality in order to allow this. Video: Video Encoding: Bitrate: 525 CBR: Yes Max Keyframe Interval: 3.0 secs VBV: 600 Audio: 96 44.1KHz Mono I have; CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor @ 4x 3.40GHz Graphics: NVIDIA Gtx 650Ti 2GB RAM: 4GB According to XSplit, with my hardware I can stream up to 720p. Any help would be appreciated!"

Ok so I'm not completely sure if this is the correct place to post this, But it was the most fitting place I could find. I have been thinking of using Retropi on a Raspberry Pi to emulate alot of old consoles and Apparently PSX Which is one of the most recent consoles it emulates doesn't run particually well. So I was wondering if it would be possible to run it on a Cluster of 2 Raspberry pi's to improve performance and how that would be achieved. So would it be worth my time and money? or should I just get 1 and overclock it?

Thanks for answering, I might not be able to reply back until tomorrow due to me working all night so sorry about that and also sorry about being very straight forward (kind of my habit). Thanks again.

I'm doing a build for a friend, his budget is $500-$750 and he will be using it for "a lot of music composing/arranging, multimedia production, video editing/producing/uploading, and also a fair amount of high-end gaming" This is what I came up with, I'm just not sure if its enough, and did I go too much graphics card not enough cpu? I plan on using this build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QJB6yc , I plan to modify if need be , but I would like to express one thing , I will not go lower than a Quad-core processor and I would rather like to stick with AMD processors because I see their company as pretty ambitious in the way that they do bussiness , to me the company represents Dreamers and I have a strong desire to support their cause so for the most part screw Intel Also the processor in this build is supposed to at least have 1 upgrade coming to the socket. Note - Im upgrading from a Phenom 9850 2.5Ghz Quad-core processor that has served me faithfully and has taken everything I have thrown at it in the past. This will be a shift from a 60nm process to a 28nm process ..... I'm drooling just thinking about the power I shall feel *-* But anyways I'm not to fond of intel and how they tend to do bussiness X_X My overall budget is $1600

So at CES, msi showed of a new embedded solution with the product number of J1800i featuring a new low power bay trail celeron processor, CPU number j1800. It has a 10 watt power draw and uses SO-DIMM ram, which I have so i want to know what else would compliment this pairing. Any GPU recommendation must be a 1x card as the only pci express slot is a 1x slot. The main point of this build is to have a way light duty pc to do casual things on. I would also want to be as detail oriented as possible. I also really want to test what intel's low power stuff can really do and see how much it can handle. Here is what I'm currently thinking: CPU: Celeron J1800 Baytrail Motherboard: msi J800i RAM: 2x2 GB SO-DIMM 1333 mhz (have) GPU: Zotac GT 610 pci express 1x 1gb card Case: ? PSU: something low wattage 200w - 400w HDD: 2x 120GB 5400rpm (have) Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
