hi, i was installing Windows Server 2016 onto my old pc (with a usb flashdrive) and it was loading files as it should. After that though, it got to the blue windows logo and its been stuck there for more than 20 minutes. is this normal, or is there something wrong? I already checked if the pc meets the min requirements and its good. Anybody know a solution?

Whenever I try to open my computer, It goes into "configuring windows updates" and goes up until 77% and gets stuck. I didn't update my windows and the option to automatically update is disabled. But besides that, I cant get it fixed and it has been like that for hours.

Alright, so I've been actively trying to get this RX 480 to work properly for a week now without much luck, it would have probably taken a lot less time for someone more experienced than me but I am quite the noob at this kind of stuff. Anyway, I think I finally found the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Basically the problems seems that, no matter what I do in Wattman in regards to clock speeds or voltages, the voltage seems to be stuck at exactly 1.0000 (As measured by GPU-Z). And no, it's not the average or anything like that. I downloaded MSI Afterburner and managed to change the voltage down to 0.9 or up to 1.1 volts, but once again, the voltage is static. Another really weird thing I noticed is that if I change the memory clock whatsoever, like an increase of 5 MHz (2000-2005), the voltage instantly increases to 1.1750 and stays there, once again static. All of the changes I do in Wattman regarding clock speeds work perfectly, but for some reason not the voltages. Does anyone know what the solution could be? Also can anyone answer if voltages are meant to be dynamic like I thought? I wanted to avoid RMA since I'm pretty sure most RMA's are problems not caused by the card itself anyways. I have uninstalled and formatted my drive several times aswell as installed the latest drivers/crimson software. Many thanks for any answers

Every night my computer tries to update to windows 10 without my permission even though i have disabled windows updates and gets stuck on 77% for a bit before showing "Failure configuring Windows updates, Reverting changes" It usually goes back to normal after a bit (until it tries to update at night) but now it has been on the failure screen for a few hours..

Hello all - I just realized that I am quite overdue on cleaning out the front air filter on my Bitfenix Ronin mid tower case. Heard the stock fans were pretty decent, so I left 'em in when purchased. Only thing is, I'm 6 months overdue on a routine dust maintenance for the filters and such. One problem - I have extreme difficulty taking off the front panel to get access to the filter, and this issue seems to be present in all Ronin case reviews, but in their case (figuratively and literally), it can be pried off using quite a bit of force. (I'm a relatively strong person, I promise) Does anyone have the same issues with this particular case, and if so, are there any secret tips or a tool I could use? Case temps are starting to get toasty. Thx

I am running windows 10 for an year and a half now, and i am facing problems with it from a month. I use my PC mostly for downloads, browsing, editing, rendering and a bit of gaming, but sometimes when my pc is idle (only utorrent running) it starts laging and then if i want to open any file or folder it gets stuck and that too for countless minutes. The only way i could get out of this infinite hang-loop is to force shutdown my pc. I know its not the best way to deal with it, but what would you do if you have work to be done and your pc has already been stuck on the "End Process" dialogue box for an hour(yeah it has happened more than twice). Anyone who can figure whats the problem?

Hi I've had the Razer Deathadder Chroma for about 3 years. A few months ago the cursor started getting stuck and the scroll wheel started registering twice when I clicked it. At first I thought it was a problem with drivers. I uninstalled the drivers and installed the newest one available but the issue remained. Then I thought that something inside the mouse is broken but after trying out the mouse on my laptop I realised that none of the glitching happened. Can anyone help? System: AMD R5 1600 @ 3.8GHz Corsair LPX 16Gb @ 2400MHz Asus Strix B350F Asus Strix RX480 Crucial 525Gb ssd Thanks in advance!

Hi everybody, I wrote a few months ago, my PC stuck after a heavy object had fallen by the house, I had no problems until a few weeks ago when the power bank fell on the side of the house motherboard, And I found that my computer was very sensitive to the bumps. Every time I flicked my fingers on the pc panel, the mouse stopped responding, the audio blocked on the last fraction of a second loop, and I was forced to reset the system. After checking psu, gpu, cables, cpu, ram, etc, I brought the computer to the store, and told me that the motherboard was the problem, specifically a usb path was shorting. So problem solved right? not really... I bought another pc, new cpu, motherboard, gpu, new ram, new hard drive, new psu, even new case and sata cables, I tried to hit the new PC case on the same spot where my old one freezed ... and it freezed too ... I can not understand how unlucky I can be to have two completely different computers with the same problem.. Or is some security technology for hard drives that I do not know? I'm 100% sure that both PCs are assembled correctly and that no component is malfunctioning, except for the motherboards ... A motherboard is asus and the other is asrock. For the rest, both computers work properly ... can anyone help me to better understand this situation? Sorry for the bad english old config i7 3770 Asus p8h61 lx3 plus r2.0 8gb ram drevo x1 ssd Palit GTX 770 New config i5 4440 ASRock h81M DGS r2.0 8 GB RAM Zotac GTX 670 Seagate Barracuda

I have a male to male fitting stuck and overtightened on a 240mm radiator. Haven't tried wd40 but it hasn't worked in the past on other overtightened and stuck wc components of mine. My last resort is that I am going to buy an angle grinder from harbor freight and cut in half part of the top and hopefully it will be easier to take the fitting off so I can dispose of it and reuse my radiator.

I have just ordered a new case and have taken my computer apart, after getting to taking off the bracket for my corsair h80i v2, I have found there to be one stand off that will not come off. I understand you can just leave it on but I would rather redo the entire build from the start for a multitude of reasons. I was wondering the best way to try to remove this stand off seen as I think it may have a damaged thread on either the standoff or the bracket (not sure). I have tried holding the bracket while turning the screwdriver however it hasn't worked. Thanks for any help that can be given, if you can't help I can always just put the other stand offs back on and just leave it anyhow!

During the process of troubleshooting my computer i needed to remove my CPU Cooler and CPU from my AM3+ Asus M5A99X rev 2 motherboard, while attempting to remove my CPU cooler i proceeded to yank the CPU out of the socket and it is now firmly attached to the CPU cooler. i have tried many different methods to get it off from rubbing alcohol to heating it up and trying to slide dental floss between the CPU and Cooler however this is to no success. Would anyone have any ideas on how to remove my CPU from the Cooler as it is driving me up the wall. Thanks

I have a Dell S2417DG monitor (TN Panel based) that has a dead or stuck pixel. The pixel in question is: Black on a black background (blends in perfectly) Red on a white background (noticeable) Red on a red background (blends in perfectly) Black on a green background (stands out noticeably) Blue on a blue background (blends in perfectly) This leads me to believe that it's a stuck pixel and not dead (correct me if I'm wrong). However, after running some videos that cycle through red, blue, and greens quickly to try and revive the pixel, I have had no luck. Any ideas?

About a year ago, I've installed an SSD on my mom's Dell laptop, its been working fine, but then all in a sudden she came to me and told me that its been on "preparing automatic repair loop" So I Unplugged the SSD from the laptop and plugged it to my gaming machine 1- I tried booting on my PC SSD, while having my mom's SSD plugged in (It failed, as soon as I unplug her SSD, it boots right away) 2- I tried unplugging all my storage devices and keeping my mom's SSD alone ( it gave me the same error on PC - preparing automatic repair ) 3- I tried pluggin in a windows 10 USB stick and booting on it while keeping my mom SSD's plugged in (It failed, just stuck on loop, as soon as i unplug the SSD it works right away) Im having a hard time getting anything to boot while that SSD is plugged in, and i obviously need it plugged in or else it wouldnt detect, i cant just plug it after booting cause it still wont be detected. So It seems like the SSD is either corrupted or its just faulty (I dont think its faulty or else it shouldnt even work to even give me that "preparing automatic repair loop" - I think it works, its just corrupted and I have no way of formatting it) my biggest issue is that i cant even format it because nothing would boot while that damn thing is plugged in. Does anyone know any way to work around it?

Over the past 2 hours I've experienced drops in network activity while downloading 1709 Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 64-bit. After a few minutes though it picked back up & resumed downloading at the full 7.6Mbps bandwidth. However now it's been stuck at 97% for almost 30 minutes, there's absolutely 0 network activity unless I do something such as posting here now. Should I continue to wait & not do anything else online? Will it completely brick everything if it comes time to shutdown my PC for the night & it's still stuck at 97%?

I just updated my motherboard to a more expensive one. No error led or anything and it boots perfectly. BIOS and boot menu works. But it has been at that Windows 10 loading spinner for a while now. Do I need to completely reinstall Windows 10 or does it take 10+ minutes on first booting into Windows with new motherboard and same SSD/HDD? EDIT: Been running for about half an hour now and still loading screen .... The picture is the screen I am at and have been at with the thing spinning (you know what I mean)

When waking the PC up from sleep, the CPU and case fans will fully rev up and the computer will not begin startup until I force it to shutdown/start back up. I have double checked my RAM seating, cable connections and sleep settings to no avail. Any help is appreciated! Partslist: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G7YtLD

I'm playing games with my HP Omen 2016 laptop connected to my Samsung 49' TV via HDMI and with DS4 controller via bluetooth. Most recently I downloaded Tomb Raider on Steam and started to play it. Then I experienced my laptop got stuck couple of times. Like once in a day. Not frequently, The only thing I can be suspicious Steam. But I don't think Steam will cause that kinda problem. But I'm worried. Cus I really like this laptop and it performed well. There is no downside of performance. Please help me to fix this matter before it kills my laptop. Thanks.

I installed a program to the wrong directory, so I uninstalled it. When I go back to the installshield wizard, My only option are repairing or removing it. I have tried both and they do nothing. I have since gone through both drives in their entirety and deleted every file that could possibly be associated with the program and used the search feature in regedit to delete all remnants of the program. SOMEHOW, the installer still will only allow me to repair or remove, neither of which work. What do i do?

Hello, I've been using a laptop with linux (ubuntu 16.04 64bit) from the university for 5 months now. Today after turning it on, it got stuck before showing the list of sessions. I have a purple background and that's it. It's not the horrible purple that I have when I boot with recovery mode. Just the classic 'ubuntu theme'-purple. In recovery mode, when doing "resume", it hangs after the line : [OK] Reached target Bluetooth _ My researches online brought me to people having that kind of problems after installing ubuntu, updating drivers,... After changing something. But that's not my case, I haven't changed anything in the last days. Some of them speak about changing the parameters in grub. The university installed CUDA for me and I'm a bit scared of changing setparams 'ubuntu' as the forums says since I do not exactly have the same issues (it's not happening after a new install as I said earlier). My last activities consit of runing python codes for neural network color modification in pictures. Computer : HP zbook, i7 6700HQ, quadro m1000m If you need any information, I'll be refrehing the topic every minutes. Thanks in advance for any help. And lastly... This is really URGENT,I have every thing on this computer (python codes, datasets, results, ...), I'm abroad for an erasmus and I have to finish my report on the subject for my next exam... tomorow... Victor.

Hello, I ran a malware bytes scan on the laptop and had to restart after due to having many potentially unwanted programs. When I proceeded to restart the computer was on "Getting windows ready" screen for a while. That is when the power chord unplugged and the computer turned off (My battery doesn't work). When I tried to turn it back on it was stuck on the loading screen; so I tried running start up repair. Now it is stuck on attempting repairs. What do I do? I would prefer to do a clean install because there are a lot of files on it that I do not want to lose. Thanks.
