Hi, I own a hotel and built a PC for it. It had a drive issue. When I looked at the PC I saw that it was very dusty so I decided totale it home and do a deep clean. Everything was going great until I had to remove the cpu cooler, I undid all the screws and pulled on it. It didn’t come off, I then decided to remove the backplate (incase some of the screws were not fully unscrewed). I added some more force and... it came off. But when I lifted ... there was no cpu in the socket. The cpu is literally glued onto the cooler I tried to carefully remove it, but it’s really stuck. Ps: the cpu is fine (3 Pins are very slightly bent) Any suggestions on what to do ? Or should i just try to contact amd. Will try a few other methods, but yeah

Hello, browsed through the forum and have not found an answer relating to my dilema. Some similar but there was no solution. Link Below ; https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1165236-asrock-z390-phantom-gaming-4-problems/?tab=comments#comment-13375998 https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1138610-asrock-z390-phantom-gaming-4-and-i5-9600k-freezing/?tab=comments#comment-13161638 So my new build specs are below ; MOBO - AsRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 4 (vP1.10) (brand new) CPU - i5-9600k (brand new) Cooler - H115i Pro RGB (brand new) Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 2x8gb (brand new) GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super (from old pc) PSU - Gigabyte 610w GE-P610A-C2 (from old pc) SDD - Kingston ssdVnow 120gb (from old pc) HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500gb (from old pc) Problem 1 : Pc boots with everything in. Goes to window logo and get stuck(freezes) - 1st boot priority SSD. Automatic repair screen pops up - loads 2 spins and freezes. *Tried fixing - remove all usb and other drives connected. Same outcome. (Mobo + Ram + PSU + CPU + Cooler + SSD) Problem 2 : Pc boots with everything in except SSd. Goes to window logo and get stuck(freezes) - 1st boot priority HDD (Also with OS installed) Automatic repair screen pops up - loads 2 spins and freezes. *Tried fixing - remove all usb and other drives connected. Same outcome.(Mobo + Ram + PSU + CPU + Cooler + HDD) Problem 3 : Removed everything from PC except MOBO + PSU + CPU + COOLER + RAM and used a usb stick plugged in the back usb slot to fresh install windows 10 downloaded via windows creation tool from their website and saved to usb stick. Changed Bios setting to EUFI and booted. Pc goes to manufacturer logo screen trying to boot USB. Freezes after 2 spins. I tried all the Ram solutions as well, remove 1 by 1 and see if it was the cause. No progress. Same stuck screen even with 1 or both or ram in place. Cant boot without ram =X. I dont have a different ram. need to buy but i hope i dont have to. wasted alot of money already. I don't understand. I can boot the Pc. Everything Runs, spins, lights. I can enter BIOS. I see everything connected. Fans, Ram, Cpu, everything. But when i try to Boot the OS either from SDD,HDD or do a fresh install of windows from USB. It always freezes at window logo or manufacturer splash screen. Not sure if Mobo needs update? i tried internet flash update. No updates pop up. I even tried secure boot on the usb stick. disable csm. I manage to get to the windows install page ONCE! but it froze and when i tried to boot again it never got past the splash screen. 3 days of troubleshooting. Cant really figure out. Any one with the knowledge to guide me????? Please just to get past the splash screen. To see my windows log in page... Would be very very much appreciated.

Hello everyone. So recently i upgraded my hardware. Motherboard: ASUS TUF gaming x570-plus CPU: Ryzen 3600 RAM: Vengence LPX ddr4 3000Mhz 2x8gb What's the problem? It was working fine for about 4 days. And then left my pc for few minutes, and when i came back it had black screen and i couldn't do anything so i turned it off using power button. Since then, when i turn on my computer it gets to the screen with some picture before login (don't know what it's called), and when i do anything screen goes black for a few seconds, and throw me back to the screen with picture. In safe mode it's the same. Also while loading where the dots are spinning there is a moment where it looks like the problems are starting, since that moment screen occasionally goes black for just a moment and it looks like performance is lost. What have I tried? I tried to clean install Windows, after restarting computer in installation it doesn't go to the screen where i can choose language etc., it just go to the login screen. I tried to plug in my old motherboard, cpu, and RAM everything works well. Through cross testing i eliminated problems with GPU, hdd and PSU. Also I have returned my Mobo to the shop, where they checked it and they said it works fine, so it's probably CPU or RAM. Ubuntu works perfectly fine on new hardware. I updated BIOS. I reseted CMOS. My RAM is in right sockets. Do you have any idea what is happening? I feel like i tried everything to fix it. I hope it's something i can try to fix, and not send another component to the shop.

Hi, So I built a new pc, it consists of a ryzen 3900x, geforce rtx 2070 super, Asus x570 plus (wifi) motherboard and a Corsair 650w gold PSU. The cooler is a dark pro 4, ram is 16gb, ssd 1tb and hdd 2 tb. I've checked that everything is is connected correctly and so on. Everything powers up, there's a signal and only thing that shows up is the tuf gaming screen, along with click f2 and del for the bios. The USB connections all work, as the keyboard lights up, phone charges, etc. But when I click f2 and del, as well as any other key, it does nothing, so I'm stuck in that screen. I'm really confused and would love any insight into what I have to correct and look at, as it isn't something that I can find a solution to online. As the PSU is fine, the graphics card works and I'm sure the CPU and motherboard is fine as everything powers up and operates. Just can't get into the bios, since keyboard doesn't work and can't download any OS due to the issue. Sorry about the hideous pics, the cable management has been terrible.

So I’ve had my DELL P2417H for about 2 years now. I’ve recently noticed, that there is a dark spot on my screen. It almost looks like a smudge, but upon closer inspection I’ve discovered that it must be either a dead or stuck pixel. The weird thing is, that it seems like it’s not an actual pixel. The little greyish spot almost looks like it’s just not as bright as the others around it. The colour matches. The weird thing is, that it almost looks like the spot is actually under the surface of the screen, because when I’m moving my head around I can actually see like a parallaxing effect, so the dark spot moves independently from the picture seen. I don’t really know how IPS displays are layered, but does anyone have an idea what it could be? I’ll try running those “magical pixel fixers” but I don’t really have high hopes due to the nature of the problem.

I just finished building my computer and occationally when I turn it on, the computer doesn't boot. The Error code on the board is code 40, and the CPU debug led it lights sometimes. I need to restart the pc 3-4 times and then the error goes away and the computer works normally. My specs are: Cpu: Ryzen 9 3900x Mobo: Msi meg x570 ace Ram : Corsair vengeance pro 2x16gb @ 2666MGz Graphics: Geforce 2080 Super I didn't make any changes in the bios and its running the most up to date stable version. Any one knows why this error could be occuring and how to repair it ? On install I made sure there was no pins damaged on the CPU Thank you.

I can't figure out why Project Cars and Dirt Rally keep doing this. I've tried increasing the games priority level, reinstalling GPU drivers and using the iGPU. Any suggestions and or fixes would be great. Keep in mind that only these game have this problem, all the rest run as they should.

(I'm running Windows 10) Hello. So this afternoon I shut down my PC. and the moment after, I forgot something and I turned it on again. But I was confused because once I got into the welcome screen, the login prompt (I locked my pc with a password) is missing. Usually when the welcome screen has showed up, I press enter and It takes me to the login prompt, but this time it's just blur background and I can't do anything besides pressing the network, windows helper, power button. What I'm confused is that before I shut down my PC it was fine and I didn't install anything that will break my PC ( I only installed Mass Effect 2 on origin earlier). And I recently purchased a monitor that has a freesync in it. I tried going into safe mode, and the login prompt is accessible in there and I tried to delete the password while in there but it's still not working (the welcome screen just stuck and blurred like earlier). I also tried to restore a system point and It's still the same (it seems that it's not coming from the softwares and application) Edit: Here's what I'm talking about : https://imgur.com/gallery/5bnch Edit 2: Edited the tittle. OS: Windows 10 (64bit) Mobo: G1.Sniper B6 CPU: i5-4690k VGA: Gigabyte GTX 750ti PSU: Corsair VS450w

I just tried a new graphics card (RX 480) and I thought it was successful. However, after plugging the pc in the monitor, windows 10 booted up. Then the windows logo popped up with the spinning dots on the bottom of the scree. This would go on pretty much forever. What can I do to fix this?

Please help me out. I’ve just built a desktop with the following specs; Motherboard - Asus Z10PE-D16 WS CPU - Dual Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2620 v4 HSF - Dual Be Quit! Dark Rock Pro 3 GPU - Asus Geforce GTX 1070 RAM - Curcial 64 GB (4x16GB) DDR4 SSD - 512GB Samsung HHD - 4TB Hitachi Deskstar PS - Silverstone 700W 80+ Titanium. So after I put it all together, it boots but it doesn’t run the BIOS. It is stuck on the System Initializing and displays B1 in the right corner. After searching for this code it apparently stands for: Inform RomPilot about the end of POST. Also on the motherboard itself it displays the Q-code 61 standing for: NVRAM initialization I already got the tip resetting CMOS by flashing the bios to the updated firmware. But before I wanted to this, I wanted to check if you guys have any other suggestions... Thank you!

Just got a new monitor from my girlfriend that's somewhat old, but it looks like there's a small dead spider or something behind the glass but in front of the display. Any way I can remove it? On a side note: Is there even enough room for a bug to crawl up in between the glass and the display (is this even possible?) Thanks!

So I recently received a firestick replacement in the mail as my old one one not working right. After plugging it in it only shows this screen as shown below. Has anyone encountered this before? I would like to try and get it out of this mode instead of having to send it in. Anyone know about this? Bottom left says "normal boot"

I bought a refurbished MSI GE62 around December from an Amazon seller. I did open it up to change the hdd to a ssd I had laying around so the factory void sticker is broken. However lately I started to notice a few stuck pixels. Then a few more dead pixels. Then a black vertical striped line. Around the top there's some more dead pixels that look like a small galaxy. And today another vertical stripe appeared, but this time blue. I would try to send an rma request and see if they'd take it but there rma website has no option for laptops. Is it stuck this way or would they possibly take an rma? I've tried massaging the screen and it works in some areas. But not all. And Jscreenfix isn't working at all so far. In fact massaging the screen sometimes temporarily makes more dead pixels and even vertical stripes. I attached a crappy photo of the stripes below in the spoiler.

Doing a case swap when I found that my motherboard seems to be glued to a single standoff just below the IO plate. I can gently lift up all four corners of the MB but the but the centre left of the board directly below the IO will not budge. Yes, i have tried wiggling upwards, out wards, inwards, leftwards, rightwards, way wards, all without this spot budging. Help appreciated.

So I'm trying to update the BIOS on my MSI B350 Tomahawk Arctic motherboard using the built in software in the motherboard BIOS named M-flash. Note: I did NOT update he BIOS using the Windows update software. I just built the computer, boot into the bios and tried to update the BIOS using the built in updater. As of this posting the flash progress is stuck at 47% for the past 30-35 minutes. I did not shutdown the computer and just left it to solve the problem by itself but it's not going anywhere. Any solutions? Thanks.

Hey guys. I've been having problems with my hard drive for a while now. I have a Lenovo All-In-One and what happened is that I got two SMART errors. Searching this up, I found that it's probably caused by a failing hard drive so I went ahead and bought a new hard drive. This hard drive came today. Having taken out the last broken one, I proceeded and tried to install Windows 8.1 through a KnowHow USB stick - as the title suggests, this did not work... At least not to my knowledge. The reason I say this is because I'm able to boot up the USB stick, however the problem is that upon doing so, I get a black screen with the blue Windows 8 logo in the middle, and that's basically it. Nothing else happens, I've tried waiting for over 40 minutes and nothing budges. I don't know if this is a fault of me or my USB drive. I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this issue and how to fix it. Thank you guys!

I was given a copy of Black Ops on a DVD and I wanted to play it today. So I loaded it up on my laptop, and this screen came up. It stays on this screen for about 5 minutes, and then it says "failed to install components" or something like that. What do I do? Is it messed up or something?
