Hello, I have a family member that has made one of his rooms set up as a game room. Set up with four Xboxes and small TV's for each. His networking, luckily, is in the same room. I've been the one actually dabbling in networking and server stuff. I have an old Dell OptiPlex that has 3 hard drive slots (1 parity drive), 12 core Xeon E5-2695 v2, 128gb ECC DDR3 with a 2.5gb pcie network port. I plan on using TrueNas and LANCache in a docker container. Is LANCache able to support Xbox games/updates? Is there a possibly better application for this niche project?

Hello, I have received CS2 update on Steam, but during the update it popped out with some weird bug, about not having enough space on my drive. I checked the space and everything was fine. I tried launching Steam with admin privileges, clearing Steam download cache and nothing helped. I opened "common" folder for Steam and I was unable to write and delete anything - drive was just unresponsive. After resetting my PC I saw that my drive was gone, not visible in explorer. It is kinda visible in disk manager, but I can't do anything with it. I also check BIOS for NVMe drives and I can only see my main drive for Windows (luckily). Also I tried to remout the NVMe drive, but it didn't help. I'm very confused about what happened - during installation seems like it just died. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot that kind of stuff? It should still be on warranty if I'm not mistaken and I had mainly my games installed on it so it's not a big deal, but I would like to try to fix the issue before doing all of that.

Hi! First post, and english is not my native language, so sorry about any poor grammar. Back in 2011, i bought Crysis 2 Limited edition on Steam, amazing game, and i have regularly downloaded and played it since 2011. Crysis for people who don't know, have its own serial verifier when you start the game, hence steam provides you keys to enter when launching the game. So the issue; The key have been used too many times, and that's fine in itself, i have bought multiple computers since 2011. But i have reached out to both EA and Steam, and they only blame each other, and says the other part have to provide a solution for me. For me it was a proper reality check, will this game that i have purchased eventually be unplayable? I have heard that the remastered version don't use the same serial checker, but for me its a matter of principle that i should have access to the game i paid 50 dollars for back in 2011 for as long as i want. at least as long as it exists on steam. quick note; i had this issue back in 2021 as well, asked EA and they fixed it, the ticket system at EA apparently don't handle old cases very well, so i can see the ticket, but all history (conversation, files etc.) are lost. But telling them that they took responsibility for this back then didn't make them change their mind. I have also reached out to Crytek themselves, awaiting a response. Glad i have physical copies of my very favorite games! Thought this could be more of a discussion topic than a problem/solution thing, but if anyone know what to demand from who to get this solved, I'd be very happy!

So preface, none of this is an issue in the bnet version. So here are some of the rather perplexing issues. 1. Framerate drops/ stutters, seems almost like a vsync issue, but vsync is off , nvidia feflex+boost is on. changing fsr did nothing. 2. endorsements are messed up, enemy team is mixed up with your team in the endorsement screen... but... it gets worse, any game is shown as "abandoned" even though i never did so, what that probably means is endorsements cannot work because you don't get any for "abandoned" games... Also what does this mean for ranked? can you even play ranked and get your wins counted or also "abandoned"?? Has anyone with this issue tried? So does anyone know about this issue, has experienced them themselves? Or if Blizzard is even aware and plans to fix this??

Hi guys, so i own and am trying to play all of the Call Of Duty games and i am having some issues running black ops 1.. When i start the game it will minimize and when i try to click on the game my screen will flash for a second and go back to desktop with the game still running. I have out right re-downloaded the game and nothing.. i have also disabled all AMD driver based enhancement's but i still get the same issue, all drivers are current and up to date. I had some issues with COD 5 but for the most part it would run but even when i enable the games safe mode i get the same issue. I tried DXVK but it has the same issue i ran into with COD 5 and that is that it locks me to a really strange resolution which even AMD super resolution upscale cant correct.. I have even tried to play with windows own scaling setting with no luck. Can anyone help?! Please and thank you. *Edit* So my multiplayer works fine without issue, is there any way for me to use those setting for SP?? I am just going to copy the file and remove the MP in the file name and give that a try *Edit 2* Turns out that did the track, got some real issues trying to launch it with my AMD enhancments re enabled but i will just tpy around with all that and something will be causing it.. guess i will leave this here in case anyone else gets this issue..

Hi guys. This morning i woke up and tried to log in to my steam account, but long story short, my password AND my email address has been changed. So i can't log in, i can't get password recovery email, and i can't even do jacksh*t on the steam support site, because every menu requires your email address. Is there a way to make contact with steam support, outside their stupid page? And is there any chance to get back my account? Sidenote, i got a gmail notification about suspicious activity, idk if this is relevant or not, but i changed my pw, and ran an antivirus, just in case.

Hello, I have FH5 on Steam on my PC, and I have tried everything under the sun to try and get this game to open. I have verified the files, uninstalled completely and reinstalled it, updated windows, updated my GPU drivers, reinstalled MS C++ libraries, closed background applications, set the game to run as admin, reset MS store, disabled fullscreen optimizations, but nothing. I haven't played the game since almost a year ago, and I don't remember ever having this issue. I also cant seem to find a potential error code in event viewer. For more detail on the issue itself, I will go and try to open the game, the small "splash screen" or whatever that's called flashes for a few seconds, then it disappears and doesn't open. I am not resetting my windows installation just to play this game, so what else can I do?

I've got a new build with Windows 11 on my mind, however I plan to take the SSD (not a boot drive) from my old Windows 10 system which has the Steam client & all my games & screenshots on it, and hook it up to my new PC. Will the Steam client run out of the box from the drive or will I have to reinstall the client? What will happen to my games & screenshots? Will a fresh install recognize their directories as long as I install it in the same folder as before?

This is my first post so hopefully I'm doing this right. This requires a little background. I just bought an ROG Ally and want to install games on it. Thing is, I'm a trucker and only go home a few times a year. That means I'm stuck using mobile data for pretty much everything. I have a 100GB tethering cap on my plan. To avoid hitting that, I download larger files directly to my phone then transfer them to my tablet, laptop etc. Is there a way for me to download a game outside of steam, then import it into steam? Even if it means grabbing a pirated copy (I'm paying in steam) and somehow importing it into steam once I've paid for the game? For the record, I'm wanting to do this with Stray. Any help would be appreciated.

My system is a windows 10, i3 9100f, GTX 1070 16 gigs ram (2x8). Big problem with crashing. Ashes of a singularity, Battlefleet gothic Armada 2, Wargame: Red dragon and most of my steam library are all crashing at a certain point whether it be time or a stage of the game. All my temps are fine 50-60°C, all gforce drivers are up to date. Crashes range form engine crash (Unreal 4), desktop crashes or frozen to a hard restart. Anyone any ideas

I want to share and give advice: Today I received this e-mail and immediately begun securing my account, unfortunately, Community Market Items can't be refunded so I lost 20€. I can't say for sure this is the hacker's account but avoid it like the plague. DO NOT TRUST STEAM WITH YOUR MONEY Until today, I tough Steam was a Relatively safe-haven when it comes to account security (for some reason), and I had a strong password. And yet, here I am: with a stupid useless digital spear and 20€ less on my steam wallet. I'll survive, that money wasn't for food, just Silksong :') the account is now secured and I have taken additional measures to protect it further. Here's my advice: Don't leave money in any online account if it can be avoided. Always use 2FA, the more the merrier. ANd if it is an option for you, use a password manager. If you got hacked, share your experience, someone somewhere may not get hacked thanks to you.

I'm on Fedora 38 and was trying to play TF2, unfortunately there seem to only be some sounds playing (no music, voicelines). I looked online and there seems to be a fix. However, it includes editing permissions which I am not familiar with at all. the commands I found are: Could anyone explain what these commands do and if they're safe to run? My understanding is they have something to do with "SELinux" and "SELinux" has something to do with security.

Summary While Dolphin, an open-source emulator of GameCube and Wii games, was intended to be released on Steam later this year, Nintendo issued a DMCA take-down against Valve. Quotes My thoughts I'm honestly sure that if Nintendo attempts to get rid of Dolphin, then there are at least two cases where Sony tried to kill emulation two decades ago but failed. If Nintendo succeeds though, then this could mean the end of emulation as we know it. So I get 23Mb/s D speed and 6Mb/s U speed with no network programs active, but when I download a game on steam/xbox/epic it downloads it at <3Mb/s????. I looked in task manager and it shows service host: network service is using almost all of my bandwidth. I've turned off delivery optimization, the only sub task running in it, and it still hasn't fixed my issue. Could anyone please tell me what's causing this and what options i have to fix this?
