Hi, everyone! At the moment, Steam's Lunar New Year Sale is live and a lot of games are massively reduced in terms of price. If you've been thinking about buying that one game, you might want to consider looking at the Steam store to see if it's on sale, too. Here are a few "examples", though: Rainbow Six Siege: https://store.steampowered.com/app/359550/Tom_Clancys_Rainbow_Six_Siege/ Assassin's Creed Odyssey: https://store.steampowered.com/app/359550/Tom_Clancys_Rainbow_Six_Siege/ Shadow Of The Tomb Raider: https://store.steampowered.com/app/750920/Shadow_of_the_Tomb_Raider/ Rise Of The Tomb Raider: https://store.steampowered.com/app/391220/Rise_of_the_Tomb_Raider/ Tomb Raider(2013): https://store.steampowered.com/app/203160/Tomb_Raider/ GTA V: https://store.steampowered.com/app/271590/Grand_Theft_Auto_V/ Far Cry 5: https://store.steampowered.com/app/271590/Grand_Theft_Auto_V/ Rising World: https://store.steampowered.com/app/324080/Rising_World/

As said by cultofmush, there's is an expected steam sale on the 15th of this month, my question is should I buy the bioshock collection off fanatical atm, or should I wait for the steam sale, I'm not sure if it will get cheaper on steam than it is atm? I also have the same question for the witcher 1,2,3, should I buy them now on steam as they're on sale, or will they get even cheaper or even not go on sale on the steam sale?
-
So, steam sale. What's the best way to optimize free space on your boot drive? For example, I uninstalled Starcraft 2 that was on my boot drive and then I uninstalled battle.net, then deleted whatever I could find after that. Yet, I didn't get the full nearly 60GB of space back. Obviously, I set up all my documents, videos, downloads, pictures, music and whatever to go to my HDD and neither of my SSD's, but what I'm wanting to know is how people optimize their boot drive space configuration, easily? Or at all?

Anything you've been wanting to grab? Myself, I might grab Borderlands 2 GOTY if it goes on sale for old times sakes, haven't played it on PC so that should be interesting.

Abzu is currently 70% off on Steam which takes it to £4.49 / $5.99. I know the game is around 2 hours or so, is it worth it or should I wait for a bigger discount in a future sale?

i have already got games like rb6 , rise of the tomb rider ,rust, just casue 3 , bf1 i mainly like fps fun to play where i can join in and start having fun but quite open to any type of game. any opinions are welcome
-
Thinking about buying some of these games from the Steam sale but I need some opinions from people who have played any of them. Any input will be appreciated. Batman: Akham Asylum - I've already played City and Origins and enjoyed both of them. I'm fine with this not being open world but (in terms of gameplay) will I feel like I'm playing an outdated game? Endless Space - Love Civ 5, Endless Legend felt over complicated to me. Mortal Kombat X - Heard this game had a lot of problems at launch but they've been fixed now, any truth to this? Also, how bad are the microtransactions? Planetary Annihilation: TITANS - Never really played anything like this before but looks intriguing. Project Cars GOTY Edition - Already have Assetto Corsa and DiRT Rally and enjoy both of them. How does this compare? (Especially online) Satellite Reign - Love the Cyberpunk aesthetic, but the gameplay looks a bit boring and repetitive. Stick it to the Man! - Looks interesting but is it fun to play?
-
for the people who don't already own civ 5 or just like to add new games into there steam library civ 5 completed bundle is valued at $242 USD and being 92% off makes it $19 USD so it's a pretty good steal http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/575/

TL;DR: Been out of the loop for some time on games (and also hadn't had much $ to spend, or had abysmal gaming PCs). Looking to spend as much as ~$200, no more than ~4 titles >$30, but budget isn't quite set in stone. (Definitely NOT buying the entire spreadsheet list though!) Have a list of titles I'm considering, any particular ones stand out as good or bad? (For bad ones, any good alternatives?) Have 2 PCs I can play on, laptop with an i3-6100, 8GB RAM & GTX 970M, or desktop with 4790K, 32GB RAM & iGPU (considering future $250-400 Pascal/Polaris GPU for desktop). Besides modern popular games, I'm also considering a few classics, as well as some casual games, and other non-game software. I am also, otoh, trying to be careful not to get TOO re-addicted to gaming. (Thinking maybe a few hours a day on average. Some days maybe more, also sometimes going multiple consecutive days without touching any games.) (Sorry if I missed any pertinent info in this tl;dr, or the main post below.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi all... So the Steam sale is going on right now, and I'm trying to figure out what are some good games to get. I have a spreadsheet of like 250 game/software ideas, if you want to take a look. It's currently sorted alphabetically, also there are columns for price (and sale, % off), reviews, release date, link to the steam store page, etc. The numbers on the far left are a "default" sort column. In the names highlighted blue, those are ones my brother owns that I think might also be interesting, maybe. Also I may have misspelled or duplicated a few titles. I'm initially thinking an approximate maximum around $200, with no more than 3 or 4 games over $25-30 each, but that could change. I'm definitely NOT spending the ~$2.3k that the spreadsheet would show if I bought every single title, of course! Hence me coming asking for help narrowing down my list. My initial question regarding the list is: What titles stand out as either being exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad? Also what are some particularly popular titles, or ones that are seen in reviews/benchmarks on hardware? For the exceptionally bad ones, are there any recommended alternatives? For series with multiple titles, which 1 (or more maybe?) should I concentrate on? Looking at the list myself, some I'm particularly considering include: Archon Classic Assassin's Creed (which?) Bocce Revolution Call of Duty (which?) Cities: Skylines Commander Keen (& Keen Dreams) DiRT (which?) Far Cry (which?) Final Fantasy (which?) Foosball: World Tour Golf With Your Friends Kerbal Space Program Metro (which?) Need for Speed (which?) Pool Nation (which?) Portal 2 Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 (or another?) Civilization V (or another?) Stardew Valley Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Tomb Raider (thinking 2013, but is Rise that much more awesome to justify $38.99?) Witcher 3 (others too?) I'm also considering some classics & casual games, and some utilities / production programs as well. Also it's not on Steam, but Crysis's site looks like it has Crysis 3 on sale as well. And, some friends want me to get Minecraft too, but I don't really want to pay ~$26 or so for it ... but do you think it's worth it? I may have missed a few more-desired titles as I was just looking through my list. I'm maybe not (as much) considering DOOM (and maybe a few others), although it is on the list. I'm not too much into the "gore/horror/hell" type games, like DOOM & L4D. OH... I should probably say what I'll be playing the games on. I have two Windows 10 Pro PCs: My desktop, with an i7-4790K, ASRock Z97 Extreme6, iGPU, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 12 TB of HDDs, Corsair AX760, Rosewill Thor V2, etc., and My laptop, with an i3-6100, built in a Clevo P750DM-G, GTX 970M, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD + 2TB HDD, etc. Feel free to look over my current steam library, if it helps give any ideas. I've basically been out of the loop for quite a while on getting games. From around early 2012 to early 2015, I didn't even have a PC that could run steam (well technically my dad's now-8-year-old laptop, but I wasn't gonna install it on there). Also before that, I either didn't have much money to spend on games, or the computers I had to play them on were, even for their time, pretty abysmal for gaming. (I remember playing Team Fortress Classic, and getting like 10-20 fps at 320x240 at lowest settings, within the first couple years after it came out!) Also, I DO want to be careful, and not get TOO hardcore into gaming. I want to allow time for doing other more productive things, etc. I might play a couple hours a day, but am thinking not much more than that. Some days I might play more, and then sometimes I might go several days in a row without playing at all. I find I do more of my gaming on the desktop, even though the laptop has the better GPU by far. (go figure!) Of course, I'll game some on the laptop too. I eventually plan to get a GTX 1070, RX 480, or if announced/released/reviewed, a GTX 1060 or RX 490, depending on reviews, hopefully sometime later in fall (between Halloween & early December). I think it's a bit early right now, though, for me to get a GPU for the desktop. Also once I do get it, I anticipate keeping it at least 3-5 years. As for the laptop GPU, if I ever replace it, I'll probably wait at least 2-4 generations, depending on improvements and pricing. (And if it's close to laptop replacement time anyway, I probably won't get another GPU for it.) Soooo .... Anyone have any particular recommendations that stand out to them as really good, or are there titles you see on the list that I should avoid like the plague?

Modern Warfare 2 is now on sale on steam for 9.99 and I'd like to know how the multiplayer is right now. I always see warnings from reviews for the game saying their are hackers everywhere but I'd like to know if that's really true. If their are hackers is their anyway to avoid them so you can play?

I usually play games like CS:GO and Arma 3, but I've decided to mix things up a bit by playing casual games like this. I've heard a lot from it and the sale is at 50%off on Steam. Your thoughts?
