I'm about to build my first SSD-inclusive build, with an additional 750gb hard drive. Any tips on optimizing my space? Its a Samsung 850 EVO 250gb and an oldish Seagate Barracuda 750gb HDD. I'll be putting things like Adobe software on the SSD (and of course the OS), but past that I'm not sure how to best utilize the drive. Thanks!

So i have a legit key for Win 7 Ultimate x64 and i kinda want to try it out. But since my main SSD only has around 14GB i'm wondering what's the smallest partition that Win7 can use.

A couple of days ago I bought a Fractal Design Define R5 and a ASUS Rampage V Extreme motherboard, but completely forgot to check if that case actually fits an E-ATX sized motherboard... Is it possible to make it fit anyway or should I just send it back and buy a regular ATX motherboard instead?

The game is still being Kickstarted but they just released a trailer for it... and omg it looks sexy... I played it as a kid and when backed the campaign almost as soon as it started... seeing this video only makes me want it more!

Anyone who's annoyed by me by now knows, I just like asking questions. This time, I'm wanting opinions on H.O.T.A.S. And pedal/rudder setups. The games I play/will play that can make use of these setups would be MechWarrior Online, Star Citizen, Elite: Dangerous... Basically mech and spaceship games. I'd like a solid, useable bit of gear that would last. Quality would be supreme over other factors. I was looking at thrustmaster's Warthog, but I didn't see any good pedal/rudder designs on their site. Is the warthog worth it? Or would I find equal quality and use at half the price elsewhere? What is a good pedal rudder system that would allow me to control turning? Any and all opinions are welcome on this. Seriously, all of them.

So for the past several years(8 years) their has been multiple radio frequencies that have been received from outer space. These radio transmissions come in on a "fast radio burst" and some scientist even started to think that this is no way a natural signal created by a natural event(like a super nova. Ext). Some scientist have called this a so called "Wakeup Call" from other intelligent life. "These fast radio bursts could conceivably be 'wake up calls' from other societies, trying to prompt a response from any intelligent life that's outfitted with radio technology." - Dr. Seth Shostak If this type of thing was to be created from a natural event, so let's say a super nova it would have a different Dispersion measure each time - however these fast burst radio signals are exactly the same at 187.5 So what do you think about these radio signals coming from outer space ? Are they from an alien species or do you think they are from a natural cause somewhere in the universe. :mellow: I wanted to see how the "New Horizons" mission was coming along and came across this download site from JPL. I'm a little spooked about files and Windows right now because of the recent Adobe scare and how they still need to patch their 0-day vulnerability (as of 8 July.) The recent outing that the FBI was a paying customer of Microsoft remote-monitoring spyware called "Galileo" is making me paranoid about using Windows in general, because they can still do whatever they want (Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?) and still call it the "Freedom Act" since it recently passed right? Is it time to just install FreeBSD over Windows and call it a day?

ok like the title says how would one do that, i found what is basicly just a nautical binocular but it said telescope so i want to try to do something with it, i have always wanted to take pictures of shit in space so i thought i might get to take a picture of the moon or something with this 30mm. i know 30mm is tiny for a telescope but still i want to try to do this so heres my gear: camera: Iphone 4S telescope: a 30x30mm telescope i found laying around stand: a camera stand that i god from my grand dad some time ago that the telescope mounts nicely too ok i know this must look like a freaking joke but i want to try to do something with this for the shits and giggles of it so what do you think i could photograph in a backyard with a metric poop ton of light polution? or should i just give up and look through my 45mm one on its shaky as shit stand? thanks for all the replyes and i know this should probably be in off topic but i want to photograf stuff too and i cant pick both of them

Windows 10 install failed an now no room on my SSD - HELP!

So for whatever reason - I haven't figured out yet - my windows 10 upgrade failed; the files had been downloaded, it restarted but it aborted and failed. Before I went to upgrade, I had 6GB of free space on my SSD, I now only have 400MB - which I presume is the files necessary for the windows 10 upgrade. Windows will now not let me upgrade because I don't have sufficient space on my C: drive. Can I locate the files that were downloaded and delete them to free up some space? Many thanks, Callum -
So I really wanted to make a topic about this and you know... have a discussion about it with the LTT community. I'm sure many of you would like a "Star Trek" era, and according to this it can very well be in the near future, so here we go. The COSMIC DISCLOSURE is a series that is currently going on gaiamtv. It's a series of interviews hosted by David Wilcock with a SSP (Secret Space Programs) insider Corey Goode. The first two episodes are free to watch. (the rest are behind a monthly subscription which kinda sucks) So yeah, I encourage you to go and watch the first two episodes. They are really interesting and I would like to hear some thoughts and opinions from you guys. I would like for us to try to prove/disprove what Corey is saying. And please! I don't want hateful comments and trolling. Even if you are skeptical, please take some time to watch the first episodes. Personally I believe Corey 80%. Also I do believe that David would not risk his image if this was all made up crap. So, lets begin. I have an original Windows 10 copy (clean install) on my SAMSUNG 850 PRO. It seems that my disk space is slowly filling up with every startup.. 1Gb every 10 startups or so.. Can anyone explain why is it doing that? And how to disable it?

Hi guys so a couple of days ago I did a program and game cleanup which left me with around 30GB~ of free space on my C drive. Today I suddenly noticed that I now have 5GB~ of free space! The weird thing is, all of my files only take up 196GB or so. I have a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB. I am using Windows 10 preview build 10074, could that be related to the issue? Can anyone help me figure out what is going on here?? I've been Googling and haven't come across much of use Thanks.

Ok, I feel like a massive idiot and I need some help, What happened was I have 2 ssd's one 60gb one ( with os on ) and I recently bought a new one ( 120 GB ) so I could move the OS onto it because I constantly have space issues. What happened was I've lost my windows disk and decided that the best way to get windows on the new SSD was to clone the 60gb drive onto my new one ( 120 GB ) , long story short, I cloned the drive and when I would go to boot from the cloned device it would always boot from the olds drive, At this point I accepted defeat and ( in windows on the old drive) went to clear the OS and data I cloned onto the new one ( 120 GB ), however since this the drive has decided it is the size as the old drive ( half it's capacity ) I've tried re formatting and putting files on the drive over 60 gb to see if it was just windows displaying the size of the old drive but It think's it's only 60GB, Does anybody know how I can 'reset' this drive so it is it's actual size again ( 120 gb ) ? cheers,

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a laptop for some hard-core gaming. I have budget for pretty much anything so that won't be a problem. Also i have to go laptop over desktop because i travel a lot and do not have the space for it in my tiny appartment. I've looked at Asus ROG and at alien as well as the msi 980msli monster but is just don't know what to get. I don't wanna be putting my games on lower settings any time soon so what should i do. Should i go for just the ROG with just one 980m or for the 980msli monster or should i go for the alienware 17 r2 with the grafics amplifier and just pop in a 980 (or better) later? Maybe you guys have great other options and some advice on the technical side of things? I'm going power over looks and even though i wanna be able to travel with it i dont mind it being heavy as long as it's powerfull aswell. Just one more thing. Next year we will be able to play with VR headsets from the oculus to the steamVR. I kind of would love to play with that but i read that most laptops right now do not support it. From that point of view should i wait for later? I hope some of you can answer my questions. Cheers

The Alcubierre drive would effectively allow a ship to travel faster than the speed of light. The limitation being that an absurdly large amount of energy would be needed to power the drive. The theory was then built upon by Dr Harold White who works as team lead of the Advanced Propulsion Physics Laboratory (informally known as Eagleworks) at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre. Dr White’s alterations made the drive more energy efficient and therefore feasible. As a separate project at Eagleworks and other labs around the world a new type of propulsion is being researched the EmDrive proposed by British engineer Roger Shawyer. A post on NASASpaceFlight.com (a forum that is focused on the engineering side of NASA projects) says that when the path-time of light (how fast it is travelling over a distance) was measured through the EmDrive’s resonance chamber there were significant variances in the speed and most importantly some of the beams appeared to travel faster than the speed of light. This could mean that the drive is producing a warp field or bubble. A comment on NASASpaceFlight.com said That’s the big surprise. This signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive. The next step is to redo the test in a vacuum to be 100% sure that the apparent warping of space is not due to the temperature of the air. Though Dr White’s preliminary assessments lead him to believe that Even if the EmDrive is producing a warp bubble an actual operating warp drive that could be used to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations and to boldly go where no man has gone before is a long way off. Please note that while I have done a lot of reading on the topics discussed in this post I do not hold a PHD in physics or maths so if there are any errors I am sorry.

Why does my SSD say 5.21 GB available and 114 GB used when all the folders in the drive only amount to 52.3 GB???

Hey, so I'm trying to make a system image, or a restore point for my Win7 machine, but because of all the games I have, the image is ~700Gb which is WAAAAYYYY too big, is there a better way of doing this? or will I have to delete all of my games? :mellow:
