Hello guys. I got my hand on a Dreadnought closed-beta (pre closed, but whatever) key, and the game starts to get boring if playing by myself. I'd like to ask, if there is anyone who wants to join me? See you there, captain.

Hey everyone. I'm considering changing my planned build from the Fractal Arc Mini R2 to the Thermaltake Core V21. I have 2 GTX 980s, a XSPC D5 Photon 170 pump/reservoir combo unit, 2 240mm rads, and an EVGA G1 1000W PSU. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this case, and knows if I can fit all this in there. Ideally I would just try it out in store, but there isn't one around at the moment. If you think any other components are necessary to figure it out, let me know and I can say what else I have. Thanks for your help.

Last night, I used my new Sony WX500 camera to get long exposure pictures of the sky from my backyard. I used the "Heavens Above" app to find out when satellite flares would happen, and I even got a great picture of the ISS passing overhead at roughly -2mag. I was able to identify many flares that I had gotten pictures of when reviewing the pictures today. However, this where it gets odd. Some moving "things" didn't match what was supposed to show, as according to the app. Some were accidentally caught in the pictures I took, and I am sure they aren't any flare that the app showed me. What could they be? Shooting stars? Forgotten/broken satellites? I will include two pictures taken one after the other and give all the needed info about them. I live in Madison, WI in case you want to cross-check my work. Top: 25 second exposure, facing ESE. Taken @ 9:04pm Bottom: 15 second exposure, facing ESE. Taken @ 9:05pm The object appears to be heading from West to East passing almost directly overhead. I could not see it with my eyes.

Greetings. I do take great delight in my gigantic iTunes music collection, and until recently, carried around almost all of it on either my 32GB iPod Touch or the 32GB MicroSD card in my phone (which is the most expandable storage it supports). However, lately, it has not been enough, and even though I've been compressing songs to lower bitrates, I cannot, for the life of me, fit my entirely library on there of 7,045 individual songs, or about 60GB. Thus, I've been looking for an MP3 player that can store all of the aformentioned tracks and then some. Features I need are- Well over 60GB of storage- preferably at least double. Support for MP3, M4A, Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV formats- I can't be bothered to convert thousands of tracks. A user interface that lets me sort by artist, album, and distinguishes between discs and album artists, just as iTunes and Poweramp do. Album artwork is a huge bonus. Extremely long battery life- we're talking days of playback on a single charge. Features that I would prefer, but are not essential, are- iTunes support for easy syncing. Support for video playback. Support for reading text-based documents or ePub-format ebooks. Given these features, the 160GB iPod Classic seems like the best possible option, but it's incredibly expensive, as the entire line was discontinued, and they were still expensive back when Apple made them. Unless I can find a great deal on a used iPod classic where I live - which is very unlikely - I won't be able to afford one. I appreciate any recommendations you can offer, or alternatives to purchasing a dedicated playback device, such as a stealthy USB mass storage drive for android devices. Regards, Aereldor.

Is this to little for server space storage prices. Leave what option you think is best 1) 1GB= .50 2) 1GB= .75 3) 1GB= 1.00 What is most fair

Hey! I'm looking at getting a monitor however not necessarily for gaming. I'll be doing some light gaming however I will mostly be using it for video, colour correcting and editing. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this monitor and are willing to offer some insight? I'm trying to find what colour space it adheres to and the accuracy of that space, however I'm struggling. Can anyone suggest a better monitor? Preferably 21:9 although 16:9-16:10 should be fine, I don't really want anything much more cost wise than this - currently have a tight budget.

Hi all, The title pretty much says it all. If there is anything you wanna know or discuss feel free to comment. Edit: Ooo, pretty colours.

So, when I try and build in the Hangar or rocket builder I get major lag. So my question is is there a way to lower the lag by decreasing the amount of kerbals in the background or anything else? Also, I'm worried that the lag shouldn't be happening with my build. I've got a 980ti and 5820K.

I'm talking about when you can click on prograde or any of those beside the Navbal? I, ve tested and tested and can't figure out when it starts working, I adjusted the starting funds and starting science to maximum and used them to upgrade and unlock and nothing, Does it start working after you reach a certain height or make an orbit or a certain amount of flights? Does it only work after installing a certain module on the rocket? I tried the Small Inline Reaction Wheel and the Advanced Inline Stabilizer and nothing. I also unlocked everything in the 1st 5 rows.

I've been through a ton of build videos lately and i couldn't see ( or was unable to find ) a case that reflects the current technology trend ( in my opinion for that matter ) On my last build i used a PCIe drive ( thanks Intel ) and M.2 drive. All my other storage needs are on a external NAS ( Thanks FreeNAS ). So all that space in front of the case was totally unused since I don't use optical drives and big drives in years. I tried to find an ATX case that doesn't have the drive bays. Just the ATX and Power Supply mounts. Like a Mid-Tower, but maybe 10 cm less wide and around 15 cm less depth. It would be like the Lian Li PC-08, but half the wide and maybe taller. Do you guys know of such a case? Best regards, Daniel

I'm currently jotting down ideas for a video game that I plan on making sometime in the future, and one of my ideas is that there will be a space station that the player can visit. This space station I'm making up is pretty much the same thing as the Stanford Torus, (click the link to see what I'm talking about - you might need to) only except my rendition is bigger. Here's the thing - though it wouldn't be necessary to know in the game, I think it'd be a fun bit of information. Here are some facts about the Stanford Torus: Supports roughly 10,000 people Total diameter: 1.790 kilometres (1.11 miles) Habitable tube diameter (the part where people would live in): 130 metres (430 feet) - only half of the tube can have buildings (Images on the Wikipedia article show the cross section) Rotation: 1 revolution per minute - should simulate Earth gravity Gravity: 1.0g (same as Earth) Unsure of the population density - would like to figure this out and use it towards my station Here are some facts about my station: Supports roughly 150,000 people Total diameter: Not sure yet (thinking maybe around 10 kilometres or 6.21371 miles) Habitable tube diameter: Not sure yet Rotation: Unsure - would like to figure this out Gravity: 1.0g Unsure of the population density - would like to know this The thing is, I'm really bad at math. Like really bad. I don't know how to figure this all out. I want to calculate my station on the same scale as the Stanford Torus, only except with a population of 150,000. I want to know what the diameter of my station should be, what the habitable tube diameter should be and how fast it should rotate in order to simulate Earth's gravity. I'd also like to know the population density, just as a fun fact. Calculating the population density of this station would be more difficult than calculating the population density of a city on earth. So, I'm asking the help of people here. Someone should know how to do this, because I don't.

After their historic world first launch and subsequent landing of their large Falcon 9 rocket, Elon Musk's SpaceX team is gearing up for another attempt this time at sea once again. The rocket shoul lift off at 10:42am PT launch from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. Quote from SpaceX (quoting not working on Edge, sorry): "Date Sun, Jan 17 2016 6:42 PM GMT — Sun, Jan 17 2016 8:00 PM GMT About With this mission, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will deliver the Jason-3 satellite to low-Earth orbit for the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), French space agency Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The Jason-3 launch is targeted for a 10:42am PT launch from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California. If all goes as planned, the Jason-3 satellite will be deployed approximately an hour after launch. This mission also marks an experimental landing of the first stage on the SpaceX drone ship “Just Read the Instructions”. The landing of the first stage is a secondary test objective." Hopefully it goes to plan. As an aerospace student I find what SpaceX is doing is massively important in order to proliferate the use of space more than it currently is, and reducing the costs of getting to orbit is a giant leap in the right direction. Edit: Here's the source link, and where you can watch the launch live: http://www.spacex.com/webcast/

NASA recently posted the following on their twitter page The space giant NASA, is organising this for the launch of the their cargo space-craft and are obviously pushing for social media users to spread the word on this event. The event will take place in Florida, December 2-3 and the launch is planned for December 3. However, this invitation is only open to frequent, cross-platform social media users with an established history and their own multimedia content. Still I think this is really awesome! Get Linus or Dimitri onto it Source: http://www.nasa.gov/social/orbital-dec2015

I turned my PC on after 3 days and my 2TB HDD went from 30GB of free space to 170GB of free space, I have compared the size of files with my backups and nothing seems to be missing. I have tried to use MiniTool Data Recovery and again didn't find anything missing from the HDD. What could cause this? I had used this HDD as my Windows install but I converted to SSD and I've been using it as a secondary drive for over a year.

so this isn't tech news (that why i put it in off topic) but Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell just passed away on the eve of the 45 anniversary of him walking on the moon. Also this marks the first Apollo mission that an entire crew has passed away with the notable exception of the first Apollo mission/disaster. He was a very humble and great guy and will be missed within the space community.

Sauce: http://phys.org/news/2015-09-boeing-apollo-style-spacecraft-starliner.html#ms Additional background info: http://phys.org/news/2014-06-boeing-cst-spaceliner-leo.html Not a great deal to say here beyond the MiniNews that Boeings CST-100 now has a name, and that I don't really like the name chosen. It's white, it lifts off toward the stars and it's something of a non-seafaring liner. So easy-peasy, "Starliner" makes sense. Let's hope for better luck than another white star liner had. Giving a nod to the future is great, but it doesn't hurt to check over your shoulder to see if you've been there before sometimes. Check source for more details. It's a short 2 min read(if that much), and hints at a picture of the politics involved and was of interest(to me), albeit not as directly tech related without some speculation.
