I'm planning to buy the Hifiman HE400SE. And I'm also looking for a AMP/DAC that can be used to run the headphone properly but can also be powered by phone. Any good recommendation? Keep the price reasonable (maybe $100 is my upper limit, but anything cheaper is appreciated!) I've been eyeing the Tempotec Sonata HD Pro since it has very good reputation for being able to handle even higher power headphones (plus it's real cheap). Is that a good option? I've also looked at DC03 and UA1, but I'm not so sure. Thanks!

So I updated windows yesterday and there was a weird static sound in my wired earphones after the restart . I tried reinstalling drivers ,went back to old ones but nothing changed. I found out bluetooth button was missing too in the settings ,so I reset windows but nothing changed. After the reset ,wifi is also gone . Then I downloaded all drivers from manufactures website ,didnt work then I used Intels driver assistant to update drivers didnt work . Now how I do make everything go back to normal?

Hi, I just upgraded my PC - bought a new MoBo (AsRock B460m pro4), CPU (i5 10400f), some M.2 SSD and two new DDR4 ram sticks. I am still using my old Sapphire Nitro R9 380, because GPU prices... I am having some strange issues with it and I think it's probably the MoBo. When it starts booting i see random weird colors on my screen with artefacts all over it (see jpegs below). After that, everything is fine and windows seems to run without any issues. But when I tried calling over discord (or anything else) i realized my old microphone was suddenly extremely quiet, even though it was boosted to +30db. I tried reinstalling Realtek Audio Drivers and after restart, windows failed to boot. I reinstalled it again, windows runs now but the sound is still very quiet, with both my old microphone and headphone headset. So I am thinking there is something wrong with the onboard sound chip? And considering what happens during boot, maybe the whole motherboard is somehow faulty? Anyone ever experienced anything like this? Any idea what to do? Should I send the MoBo back? Thanks for your time

Hi, My desktop started to make this noise noise.m4a today, which start when I open a game and instantly stop when the game closes. I'm not sure which component makes the noise, but my GPU is a gtx 1080 strix and my PSU is a Corsair TXM Gold 650 W 80+. These two components are about 4 years old and have never had an issue with them before. The rest of the PC is new components from January. I read that it might be coil whine? Should I be worried of my GPU or PSU dying on me soon?

Hi guys, so a weird thing has happen to me. I've gathered some parts and have put together a build for someone spec's are: Aorus z390 Pro mobo Sapphire rx 580 i5 8600k 32gb corsair vengeance ram 650w psu 80+ rated psu And a corsair h100i cooler When on first boot everything was and is normal, got into bios, checked if everything is detected, all is fine, windows booted, etc. Then when I tried to play audio nothing was coming out from the rear ports. I've done some research and from others experiences I thought it was a driver issues which are common with this board so as I cannot return it, I bought a sound card, Asus xonar essence STX. Connected it, everything as it should but still no audio coming out of it? I've downloaded the latest drivers for the sound card but that still did no good. I've checked if it's being detected in device manager and it does, everything seems to work fine but there's just no sound coming out of it at all. I've made sure the speakers work by testing them on a different device and they do indeed work. Front HD audio doesn't work either when headphones are plugged into it either. I just don't know what to do and would like some advice from anyone who has encountered this type of problem or knows any sort of solution to it!

Relevant Specs: Headset: Redragon Memecoleous h112 MOBO: Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3 Hi! I've used this redragon headset for around 5 years now without an issue until now. Couple months ago the Mic started sounding really quiet. It is normally very quiet so I use Voicemeeter Banana to turn the gain up a little, but this change made me max out the gain with it still too quiet to be heard, for example, on Discord. I eventually discovered that hitting the mic (or producing a very loud sound) would turn the gain back up to normal for as long as I kept talking. If I stayed quiet for around 30 seconds, the gain would go back down until I hit it again. Important to note that when I listen to it in real time, the gain goes up and down gradually, like someone is turning a knob. I've tried absolutely everything from turning off every setting and software that could be affecting it, plugging it on the front panel instead of the back one and even reinstalling the audio drivers. Today I tore down the headset to check if there were any indications of physical damage, but everything seemed normal. An important detail I got from this is that the cables from the aux plug go directly to the mic and not through the circuitry. Nothing of this makes sense to me. I have little understanding of how mics work, but the way the gain goes up and down is not telling me the mic or the motherboard controller is broken. I also tried everything I know software-wise. It would be a miracle that someone knows exactly what is going on, but I will be thankful to anybody who gives me ideas on how to diagnose this. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, Some Months ago i built my new pc. Ryzen 5 5600x Gigabyte b550 aorus pro v2 RTX 3060TI 32GB 3600 DDR 4 so the problem which i realised after about 1 month is that the usb ports and connection was kinda weird and sometimes stopped. Thats something which has been talked about alot in recent months about this motherboard so i flashed the bios to the current F13h. Less problems, but sometimes i feel like there are still some problems with the usb connection. But maybe its just my paranoia. But a major thing i noticed with this pc, is that i get sound crackling when multiple sounds are playing or sound starts or stops fast. A good test for that would be, going into teamspeak 3, and spamming the mute/unmute button, normally the sound would not get distorted and start to pop/crackle. On this pc it does. And the only thing i can imagine doing this, would be the motherboard usb connectors. I use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD as an audio interface with an T.Bone SC450 mic and Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones. I figure its a problem with the behringer and drivers or the usb ports on this pc. The sound popping / crackling really only occurs when sounds start or stop abruptly, or if different people talk (like on MS Teams). It's not the most annoying problem because in videos or games i barely notice anything like that, maybe i just imagine it in those. So today im going to test the sound configuration like it is on another pc, and if there arent any of the mentioned problems i probably am going to swap out my motherboard. So in this case i would be interested what a good motherboard for my current configuartion would be instead of the gigabyte one. I would like a good amount of usb ports and if possible a good onboard sound solution.

I have a problem with the volume on my PC, the volume is too low compared to how it was (both on speakers and headphones). It happened after my Realtek audio console ran into a problem starting (Error: "Cannot connect to RPC service") after which I tried resetting the Realtek app and restarted the PC. Since then I noticed the overall volume was way lower than it used to be, so much that I had usually kept the general Windows volume at 32% which was more than loud enough both on speakers and headphones and now even setting the volume to 100% and maxing out volume on my headphones/speakers it's still quieter than it used to be previously. I tried some suggested fixes like disabling audio enhancements, turning on loudness equalization (which helped minimally), changed communications settings to disable Windows from reducing or muting any sounds, checked for driver updates which the system suggests that the "optimal" version is already installed and still nothing. There were no changes made to anything audio related physically or through software, aside from resetting the Realtek Audio app and restarting the PC, any suggestions what could be the reason for this sudden low volume on the whole PC?

So I got myself some Speakers from Presonus the ERIS E3.5 recently. Windows sees my Razer Blackshark V2X as my Speakers and my Presonus Speakers don't work. I connect my Headset over the Motherboard IO, Headset is connected via Mic and Line Out, I think the speakers are supposed to be connected via Rear but I don't know if that is the case. Is there any possibility to connect my Headset and Speakers at the same time and switch between them through Windows? The Motherboard I use is the B550 Aourus Elite (rev. 1.0), Audio Outputs are Mic, Line Out, Line In, Rear , C/Sub and Toslink.

Hi! So I used my laptop with my tv (HDMI) and the sound worked perfectly trough the tv. Well, it seems as though my tv stole the sound. I only have one sound output in my laptop (Speaker/Headphone, RealtekR audio) And what makes it a bit weird is that it indicates that there would be sound (see Audio.png). This screenshot is taken with my desktop, that's why it says "arctis 7". In the laptop it's called "Speaker/headphone..." But the laptop also shows movement in the green bars, when audio is playing. eg in youtube. Have tried resetting to windows default sound settings. Have also tried enabling and dis-enabling the sound outputs. Laptop model is some HP-pavilion. i3-8gen, 360° display, bang and olufsen...

So I recently bought the presonus eris e3.5 and the focusrite scarlett 2i2. But since the speakers lack sub , I decided to use my old creative A255 sub woofer which is really good. But when I connected the focusrite into the lap, the audio output from my lap wont function. I tried changing the output from system sound settings, but still it did not work. Using Asio4all in my daw and turning on both outputs from the control panel also did not work as the sound only came from the interface. Also the creative A255 sub takes info from the right speakers and then sents to the left. So is there anyway to get output from both outlets(lap audio output and from the 2i2) or is there a way to connect my sub without all these work. Also is there a possibility of creating a virtual environment and splitting the audio outputs such that I can use both my interface and laptop audio output jack? Any help is appreciated and thank you. Images : A255 sub back Creative speaker main connections Presonus eris e3.5 left speaker back Interface back

Hello. I have an Asus Strix g731gt laptop and I suspect, that the sound card has a problem. After owning it for 2 months it started giving out a minimal amount of Coil noise and the speaker gives out a crackling noise at higher sound levels. On top of that, when a headset is plugged into the combojack I can sometimes hear popping sounds. It still has warranty so I sent it back, according to the seller one of the speakers was busted so they replaced it and then claimed the problem was solved. After using it for another week the speaker vibrates lightly at high volume levels and the popping sounds in the headset are still not fixed, people I talk to on skype and discord can hear it too. The popping sound is random. I wish to identify the true problem before sanding it back once again , because they won't do it themselves and would charge me for sending it to them again. I attach a picture about an error message from a software which is checking for audio problems (LatencyMon) , it blames the CPU thottling. https://ibb.co/v3bH2Nq There is a link with videos about the problem : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gsLwBbQopxbgAjxSnIk6eZ6h-kU80avT?usp=sharing I am looking for any help i can get.

Hi I am currently looking for a wireless headset with the following specs ordered in importance. 1. Wirless 2. Bluetooth 2a. Sound 3. USB - C 4. ANC 5. Retractable or Removable Mic Sadly I couldn't find any Headset which ticks of all points. I am willing to pay up to 250€. I would like a headset which I can also use as normal earphones. Or would it be better to get just good bluetooth earphones and then somehow and additional microphone? I currently had my view at HyperX Mix, Arctis 9X or JBL Quantum 800. Do you have other suggestions? Or which of the 3 would you choose? Greetings Losspost

How do I know whether my Motherboard supports 2.1 vs 5.1 surround sound systems? Manual says next to nothing about the actual capabilities. Was thinking of purchasing this > https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/z607-surround-sound-system as a surround system throughout my room. Not sure if it requires a sound card or simple audio jacks / Bluetooth. Any help appreciated. (photo of my audio jacks of my motherboard MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi) Any and all help appreciated, cheers.

So I've had an issue where sound is unbalanced, and I cant go higher than 2-4 or it'll be too loud (picture below), especially in games (gun sounds are louder than footsteps). I've done all I can think to do, sfc scan, Windows update, amd drivers, and drivers from gigabyte does nothing to fix it. All ideas are welcomed Edit: I'm using headphones and I only have headphones

I have an old speakers + subwoofer setup where the speakers cannot play sound unless its connected to the subwoofer and uses speaker wire to connect to the subwoofer. Recently, When I connect the speaker wire to the subwoofers, the speakers only plays sound from the left channel. There's no problem with the other speaker, because when its connected to the subwoofer I can still play sound through it via an aux cable. And I know its not that I have my sound set to mono, because when I tried to use an interface, the right channel wasn't playing at all. Help pls

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a good headset for playing competitive games like tarkov and listening to music. I've been looking around for so long but nothing so far has satisfied what I want in a headset. My budget is 250 euros, it does not need 7.1 sound but I would like a headset which are good for hearing footsteps. I've seen some studio headphones but they usually dont have a mic and I need to get an amp and a separate mic which is something I don't really like. In the past I've used the logitech g933, hyper x cloud 2 and astro a50. I personally didn't like the sound on the a50's and the g933 had too many problems with the software for me. I hope someone could help me out. Thanks in advance.

Basically, I built a PC for the first time back in December, played some games, downloaded editing software, started a baby YouTube channel, and the computer worked great and crashed maybe 3 times, with no long term effects on the PC (to my knowledge). Maybe 2 weeks ago my computer crashed with an error saying: Kernel Security Check Failure, or something along the lines of that. I did a bit of research and found out that there might be something wrong with my RAM, so I went ahead and scheduled the windows memory diagnostic test for the next time I restarted the PC. Fast forward to 4 days ago, I was going to a Dentist's appointment, so I was shutting off my pc. However, the PC had a little yellow circle next to the power off button, which indicated that I could update it and shut it down. Lo and behold, I clicked that, and then I saw the blue screen indicating the memory diagnostic test I had scheduled prior was beginning. I thought that since the pc was going to update windows and shut down, it would be fine to let the test run its course while I was at the dentist. 2 - 3 hours later, I came back and turned on my pc and tried to log in, but it was stuck on the welcome screen (after I put my password in) for around 10 minutes, compared to the usual sub-5 second boot times. Once it finally logged me in, I opened up Apex Legends to test the extent of the PC's problems. In the lobby screen alone, my computer began to stutter visually and in the audio, which sounded like having a pair of bad headphones that electrocute your ears, minus the electrocution. I tested this stuttering with YouTube videos, games, and other ways to see the speed difference and stuttering more clearly. Also, when I opened 3 Google Chrome tabs, Discord, and Task Manager, the CPU percentage hung around 15% until I used Windows Snip and Sketch to screenshot it to ask a friend for help, which brought it to 30 ~ 35%. I reset the PC yesterday, which solved the visual stuttering, the slow startup/welcome screen, and the problems with the games. However, the sound stutter/glitch still remains. Please help, thanks.

It's been making this noise since I built it. Sometimes it disappears and other times it goes loud that I can hear them through my headphones. It also does react sometimes to anything I do with my mouse and keyboard by clicking/pressing. If anyone has any idea what is this please let me know. Audio recording attached. Noise.mp3

So the speakers were performing normally. There was electricity going and returning in quick succession. The first two times was alright but the third time, it was accompanied by defeaning noise. Buzzing noise. I quickly switched off the main switch. Disconnected everything else and only left the speakers connected and when I turned it on, the same deafening buzzing noise. No audio would play only noise. And the system isn't a cheap system either. It's a Sony Japan Import. I've run out of warranty as of Nov 2020. So I don't know what to do. Then I isolated the music set-up entirely and took it to another room and tried it. This time I got something like a strange odour and some smell like melting plastic and some bad smelling. Not foul but not pleasant either. Help please. I blew 8k on the system that is ignoring the 1.2k on shipping. What can be the problem? The soundbar is working as a single unit. But the Subs and the traditional 9 speakers aren't. Only noise.

Hi I'm currently with a sound popping issue after replacing my GPU, I don't know why this happens, also I replaced my previous RX 5700 (defective), with another 5700 that I got after the RMA. This did not happen with the defective 5700, although I had crashes on that gpu which is why I RMA'd it. I'll buy a DAC to see if that solves the issue, but I would like to read why does this happen even though this gpu works completely fine. Note: I already tried every solution I could find on the internet related to realtek drivers. Note 2: I went from windows to linux and the problem persisted Note 3: I also hear a electrical noise when decreasing or increasing volume on youtube.
