I've seen a lot of comments on videos where people are reviewing 1000w+ speakers and everyone says that they won't actually put out 1000w. So I was just wondering would my 2 wharfedale delta 30's (75w rated) actually output 75w each? I'm looking for a new amplifier and can only find ones that are like 60w per channel or below. Would that be powerful enough for my speakers or not?

I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO headphones and I'm just wondering whether a PCI sound card will sound better than the one built in on my MSI Z270 Gaming M7 mobo.

Hello I recently encountered a problem. After I plugged my USB in order to charge my phone i noticed that i don't have audio anymore only high pitched squealing. I tried getting another headset and the issue remained. I also tried reinstalling the audio drivers and guess what did not help. So I came here to ask what might be the problem? And would a USB soundcard help?

I was wondering if I should use my leftover usb sound card from by G430s for a pair of HD 598 CS or would it just be better to use my on board audio? Also I will not be purchasing a dac or amp because the CS model of the 598s are rated at 23 ohms.

This PCIE card that I found has an odd connector that I have seen before, but I do not know what it is and it is really bothering me. It looks like VGA, but it is for audio, this isn't a video card! https://www.amazon.com/RME-HDSP-9632-interface-32-Channel/dp/B0002H030I/ref=pd_sbs_267_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=80XX9PNZNB77PXARAG8Y

Hi, I am looking to buy a sound card. I am looking at the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Rx. It is a 7.1 sound card. I am wondering if it will make my stereo headphones sound like virtual 7.1 headphones. (I have the AKG K702)

Hello, I have an Asus Xonar Phoebus that broke on me, and the onboard audio is a noticeable decrease in sound quality. I have a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 stereo speaker system and that connects by a 3.5mm headphone jack, so I don't think I can consider an Asus Essence STX II or a Creative Sound Blaster ZxR. I also don't have enough money to get a proper DAC/Amp configuration. I'm looking for opinions of the best sound card I can buy that would work with my speakers.

I'm currently saving money to upgrade from logitech Z506 to two studio monitors. I want to also upgrade from internal motherboard audio to a sound card (preferably PCI). I also have some AKG over ear headphones. I don't want anything too expensive (less than 50 euros) for the sound card. Any recommendations?

Hey all, first of all I'm driving my Sennheiser HD 600 Things i'm looking out for: 1/4 Inch headphone jack USB Input Flat, uncoloured sound signature I don't mind an additional UK AC adapter with a DC ONLY output (nothing like the shiit stack or O2 since they use AC in) Desktop Unit (Preferably without a battery since i'm leaving it on all the time) So far I've found the Fostex HP-A3 to be an excellent candidate but i'm looking for other opinions. Also found the Micca Origen + but the driver issues are quite a turn-off. Would love and appreciate any help i can get

Hey Guys/ Girls, I recently build a new rig and I have been experiencing some issues with my microphone. It seems to be cutting out when I play any games. I've tested it playing GTA5, Mafia III and CSGO, at a random period the microphone justs cuts off. This seems to only happen when I have a call on discord application, discord on web browser & skype on whilst playing a game. I've tried turning off all my VOIPs and just using in-game voice chat in GTA5, that worked fine except that my conversation was public and it was difficult to hear each other. When my mic disables I have to open my sound control panel, disable and re-enable my HyperX Cloud II and the mic works again. I have..... - Updated all my drivers - Set my HyperX Cloud II mic to default in the windows settings and on the VOIPs - Disabled all other audio inputs - Disabled "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device" in the audio properties - In communications I've set it to do nothing when windows detects communication - Disabled USB selective suspend setting - Downloaded and install all my motherboard drivers - Use different USB ports - Tried headset on another computer - Tried it on the front USB ports and the back - Restart computer...... etc. My Specs Are: CPU: Intel i5 6600k Heatsink: Deepcool Gamer Storm Captain 240EX RAM: 2x4GB Crucial Ballistix GPU: ASUS Strix 1060 MOBO: ASUS Z170-AR HDD: WD Blue 7200rpm 1TB PSU: Corsair CX550M Case: Corsair 400c Mouse: Logitech G502 Keyboard: Logitech G710+ Headset: HyperX Cloud II Wireless Adapter: D-Link DWA-171 Any help would be appreciated

Hey guys, I was considering buying a used audio card for my PC, as my mobo does not have any onboard audio (I'm using a supermicro board). And I can't choose between the Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 2G and the Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi SB0460. On one hand, the Auzentech card is newer but the Creative is much more popular and had a higher MSRP. Right now the Auzentech is going for 14 USD and the Creative for 10 USD. Should I even be considering these options?, if so which one?; or should I just save till I can but something like a Creative Sound Blaster Z?, also feel free to leave suggestions for other cheap sound cards. Thanks in advance for the help

I just bought a new sound card because I thought my old one “died”. Since I like the old one so much I bought the same exact one and when I get it I plugged it in yet nothing happens and it doesn’t show up in device manager. So I play around with it restarting the computer, playing with drivers, and playing with the position of the card to no luck. I have tried the card in a different computer and it worked fine. The sound card is a diamond Xtreme audio 5.1 PCI sound card I know it’s a little old but it was able to work before so I don’t know why it doesn’t work now. I am currently running windows 10 fully up to date. There is no indicator light to tell me it has power I hope the motherboard is not the problem. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue?

So when it comes to choosing a standalone microphone everyone usually starts saying Blue Yeti (even Linus reviewed it), claiming it's not a problem that it's a USB microphone, which I assume is true, but in my case I already have a Sound Blaster Z (PCIe) sound card, which had a great impact on the quality of my old microphones (both for standalone microphone and headset), so I would like to keep it in the system. It has Crystalvoice, which greatly helps to remove the ambiance, which is one of the biggest issues I had with my microphones. I see many people praise the Yeti, but they also mention how much noise it picks up (dynamic microphone, so understandable), so I think keeping the sound card in-between would solve that issue. But it will never work with USB, and if there is an alternative I wouldn't want to opt for the Pro version, which is about double the price... I only plan to use it for a good talking quality, placing it somewhere on my desk (like between my 2 monitors) or on a microphone stand (mounted on my desk). For instruments/singing I already have a Shure SM57, but I can't really use that for talking, because it's way too quiet, I would need to basically "eat the microphone" to get a normal level of sound when I'm just talking. I'm no professional, it's just a bit of a hobby for me, so I'm not looking for the best of the best, but I'd like to achieve a pretty decent quality if possible. Any suggestions/ideas? (Hope I wrote to the right place... Spare me, it's my first time here...)

So basically i'm not happy with the fact that you have to pay a stupid amount to get good headphones + for the best experience an audio interface and pre-amp or whatever (i'm not that big into audio stuff) and i am basically wondering can you improve your sound with a sound card ??? I have a cheap-ish pair of headphones and was wondering if something like this would improve the audio over the USB slitter that was provided ??? The card: https://www.amazon.co.uk/BlasterX-Hi-Resolution-Soundcard-Headphone-lighting/dp/B073HT4GM4/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=sound+card&qid=1565363498&s=gateway&sr=8-4 My headset: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Gaming-Headset-Dolby-Surround/dp/B00CJ5FPUE/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=g430&qid=1565363950&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Maybe this is crazy but, I have Artics 7 headsets with USB dongle (wireless) and so i was wondering, if can i get better audio with just adding a sound card. Like even if i use USB, USB itself must be connected through CPU and CPU to onboard Audio, right? (dont mean usb physically being connected to CPU or anything like that, lul) stupid question, but was just wondering if then USB dongle would communicate with sound card directly USB_dongle - CPU - onboard_audio USB_dongle - Sound_card~~ in anycase i want to get the most of my headsets in any way possible so besides that, any advice is welcomed ?

S1200A SupremeFX Asus onboard audio vs sound card or newer ALC1220 comparing S1220A to other two makes any difference?

Are DSPs useless now in modern gaming. I got a sound card yesterday because the onboard audio on my pc kept whining when my rtx 2070 was under load. And I read in the discripion that the this sound card was hardware accelerated and i thought it was really cool not for performance sense, I doubt modern CPUs stress over sound but to have a chip that did all the sound work and enhanced it I thought it was pretty cool, I don’t know why .At least that’s what I thought it says EAX so I’m not sure if it just adds sound effects or just takes over the sound all together. Overall I thought it was kinda cool only to find out Microsoft banned EAX and direct sound 3D support in vista and Multiple sources have told me that they actually removed hardware accelerated sound all together in windows 8. So then does that make The EMU chip completely useless in modern day gaming and use like does that mean the chip literally does nothing now just pointless silicone in the board .If that’s true why does the latest SB AE5 RGB have that sound core 3D chip if they said hardware accelerated sound is no longer possible ?Is it just marketing.

My question revolves around the ASUS Xonar Essence STX sound card. I would like to know if there are any advantages to selecting 8 channels as opposed to 2 channels in the Xonar's control panel when NOT using Dolby Headphone. My goal is to maximize positional audio without using Dolby Headphone since I dislike the strange effect it has on audio quality. I've been told that since headphones only have two drivers, using anything greater than 2 channels is pointless (assuming virtual surround sound is not being used). Is there any truth to that? I swear I can hear a difference in positional audio when I select 8 channel output.

Hello everyone, recently i changed out my motherboard to a MSI B450 Tomahawk and now the graphics card is covering most of my PCI-Express slots. (Its a 3.75 slot-card including the aftermarket air cooler.) The only one left is not usable with a sound card because then the cooler of my graphics card is almost completely blocked off and my temeratures are skyrocketing... I was ruinning my "Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edtion 600 Ohm" headphones with an "Asus Xonar Essence STX II" sound card. I absolutely loved the sound-profile of this combination. Right now the headphones run off my mainboard and the sound is rather flat and boring as it is not made for 600 Ohm headphones. Now i am searching for an external headphone-AMP for 200,- € or less that is equivalent to my sound card. Of course it should be available in Germany and not bottleneck my DT 990 in any way. Any reccomendations?

Hi, I have a bit of a struggle and can't seem to find it out for myself. I have a total of 5 speakers and a subwoofer, they're not the same in any way but I would like them to run in 5.1 surround. I know this should be possible, I just have one small issue getting it working. In Windows the center en subwoofer channel are one and the same jack. I would need 2 separate jacks to get it working because of how my speakers need to be connected. Now for the question, is there a sound card or software utility that will let me configure each jack to a single channel instead of combining center and subwoofer? I have searched but I couldn't find anything that will surely work. I would hate to spend money on something that will not solve my problem. Thanks in advance!

I just installed Ubuntu 19.04 last night (I wanted 18.04 LTS, but it always froze during installation) and I am completely new to Linux. I have a sound blaster z sound card and it shows up in my audio settings as well as alsamixer; however, no sound comes out. I checked my kernel and it is the latest one which should support the card out of the box. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
