Hi guys ! Some years ago, I was the happy owner of a GTX 760. I built a computer for my brother and I made him buy another one (the same MSI card). Then, when i bought my KFA2 (or Galax), GTX 1070 EX, I gave my 760 to my brother so he can use it in SLI mode. My brother has a MSI Z87-G45 GAMING, powered by a seasonic PSU. The setup worked just fine for two years. Then, not so long ago, the computer crashed. Resolution was bad, artifact showed up. We tested both cards. Card 1, lets call it Django. Django has two fans. One of the fans sometimes... does not work. Sometimes works... it spins, then stops, then spins quickly, then slowly... no image, card not detected. Card 2, lets call it Marise. Marise shows artifacts. But Marise is detected by the computer. My brother never overclocked the cards. He has a Zalman Z11. I don't believe they could overheat. My brother hooked up one of the cards and used it alone for a time, I believe it was Marise. But at some point the card stoppped working. I don't believe we can repair these cards. Tho I'm pretty amazed he could kill 2 cards at almost the same time. But the cooling system if... well... cool ! What can I do with these cards ? What would you recommend ? Is there any possibility someone could repair it ? Could it come from something stupidly simple ? Can I do ANYTHING at all with the cooling if I decide to dismount it and throw the GPUs away ? Thanks !

My current PC: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GZyhxG I am thinking of upgrading my PC's graphics card to use my motherboard's SLI availability. I was thinking of the graphics card MSI GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB VENTUS OC I was also thinking of upgrading my case to a full tower to allow better airflow throughout the parts For a while, I have been out of the loop in new tech, and that is why I am posting on this forum today, I was wondering what you guys think of my decision and if there are any other recommendations for graphics cards. My budget is $670

So I wanted to find out about this and couldn't find anything on the internet. I currently have an ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1070 and EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid on my hands and I'm wondering if I will be able to run them in SLI and make it work. I'm just concerned about whether they'll work together or not and as far as I know the 900 series isn't compatible with FreeSync but will I be able to use my G-Sync compatible monitor if I connect it to the 1070? I have a Gigabyte z390 Gaming X mobo (not sure if it supports SLI either)

As far as I know when you try to do SLI, the chipset reduces the PCIe 3.0 x16 bandwidth into PCIe 3.0 x8 to pair it to another slot with PCIe 3.0 x8 effectively means using 2 graphic cards with one PCIe 3.0 x16 bandwidth thus causing stuttering. Now that Ryzen 2 support PCIe 4.0 which doubled the bandwidth of PCIe 3.0, then does the stuttering with SLI still exist? Does PCIe 4.0 x8 has the same bandwidth as PCIe 3.0 x16?

Hello. I'm thinking of upgrading my Asus Geforce GTX 1060 6GB OC to mabye a rtx 2060 or a gtx 1660. I'm wondering if it worth getting a new and better gpu or just to get another 1060 to run in SLI?

So I recently invested in a virtual reality headset and everything was going great. My system specs were: 2 x Nvidia 980 SC EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2 PSU Intel i7 6700K 4 x 4 GB RAM DDR4 Dual monitors (HDMI, DVI) VR Headset (DisplayPort) I often let my computer go to sleep rather than shutting down every night. After about 5 days of this set up, when I awoke it from sleep, the second monitor wouldn't wake, in fact, it was no longer receiving signal. I tried reinstalling drivers, unplugging the VR set, reinstalling Windows, and lastly unplugging one of my GPUs (the SLI setup was as new as the VR set, and I was suspecting too much power draw). It worked, at first. After playing some games in VR, I went to reboot my computer to test it and of course the monitor was no longer receiving signal again. After doing a clean install of the drivers 5 consecutive times, it began working again, and that is where I am at right now (I have not tested VR again yet). Other things worth noting: -Both monitors and cables definitely work. -When only one monitor is working, the problem can be narrowed down to the HDMI port on the graphics card not working. -When not working, and booted with 1 monitor only plugged into the HDMI, once it gets passed the Windows startup screen and onto the sign in screen, the monitor no longer receives signal. -SteamVR and the Valve Index are what is being used for the VR side of things. Would anyone out there have an idea as to where the problem lies and would be willing to help me through this? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I am building a rig for Deep Learning using 2× ASUS ROG Strix 2080 Ti cards and I am planning to pair them in SLI. Due to the lack of availability of the ASUS NVlink bridge in my country, I am planning to get the Zotac NVlink bridge. I was wondering would the Zotac NVlink bridge work with two ASUS RTX 2080 tis? Like will the sli connections fit and all? Has anyone tried this config before?

So I have been in desperate need of a new CPU im running an old 4790k, with 2 1080ti's. I have managed to hold out for the Ryzen 3000 release. Im trying to decide what CPU I should pair with my GPUs so I dont bottleneck my rig. I am primarily doing just gaming with some other light tasks but I would like to run games at 1440p and 4k at high refresh rates. I have been looking at 4 CPUs the 3700x, the 3800x, 3900x and the 9900k. First of will the extra cores of the 3900x benefit me since im running SLI? Or will higher clock speed ultimately win out. Especially since Ryzen 3000 seems to OC poorly? Im just not sure how these CPUs will effect SLI.

Hello, so I've had my two 1070s for a while now, but recently they have been acting up. For some reason one of the cards keeps dropping it's core clock down a lot when gaming, causing my fps to dip super low, even lower than when I only had 1 1070. I've tried many different driver versions, undoing my overclocks and even updating the bios of them both, but nothing I try seems to work. I've been thinking about just selling the two and getting an RTX 2080, but I wanted to know if anyone has any advice to give before I do it. I've looked around countless times, but no one seems to have my same issue. I included a picture of MSI Afterburner's GPU clock graphs of my two cards overlayed. (the one which keeps dipping is card 1). Please help, I've been trying to figure this out for over a month now. My PC specs: Aorus x370 Gaming 5 MoBo Ryzen 7 1800x 16gb of 3600mhz DDR4 2 x Asus Strix GTX 1070 1tb Samsung Evo SATA SSD 1tb Hitachi 7200rpm HDD RMi 1000 watt Corsair PSU My Cards' Core Clocks compared during gaming:

I have 2 Gtx 970 graphics cards one of them is an MSI and the other is an EVGA, I have been told that they are compatible since they are both 970's. Where my problem lies is when they are both in my computer they get recognized and show up in device manager, task manager, and MSI Afterburner, but when I try to activate them both for SLI in the Nvidia Control Panel they only give me the option to "Disable SLI" they do not let me click on the other options that enable me to use both cards in SLI. I have tried to swap them and have even bought a news SLI connector to see if it was that but to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated. computer specs: MSI MPG Z390M Intel Core i5-9400F MSI GAMING GeForce GTX 970 EVGA GeForce GTX 970

The ever denied and shamed case of trying to SLI 2 GTX 1060 has fallen upon me. I happen to now be the owner of 2 different perfectly fonctionning GTX 1060 and I wish them to work together. I am fully aware that 1060s cant be connected trough SLI and that the price to buy 2 would surpass a single 1080, but I got the first full price (EVGA 6BG SSC) and the second for 80$ (Asus 3GB, the white one). I am hence in a case I could benefit in getting them to work together, I think. So the question: how would I go to do this? Any suggestions, ideas and so forth will be appreciated and tried until I can be successful. If it doesn't work, I'll just put the second one on productivity load so dont worry about me. Thanks for any input!

I've been trying to get SLI working but no matter what I try the option is never displayed in the nvidia control panel. At the very least I have one dedicated to compute tasks but I'd like to get them running in SLI. The specs of the computer in question are: CPU: E5-1620 V4 GPU: Quadro M4000 * 2 RAM: 4 * 8GB DDR4 So far I have: Restarted repeatedly Reinstalled drivers Used DDU to remove drivers entirely Verifed that both cards work independently Checked that both are running at at least 8 PCIe lanes Reseated the SLI bridge and turned it around What else should I try?

I have an old 1060 that I got recently from a friend of mine. I already have a 2080 install in my current rig that powers my 1 4k Wacom tablet and 1qhd monitor. Is it ok to plug in that 1060 in my system and use it for my 3rd monitor? will it cause any problem in the performance? also, can I combine the power of both GPUs for rendering 3d stuff? Currently, have 5960x processor installed with a 2080 GPU and 1000w cooler master PSU.

Hello, I bought a second GTX 960 Asus Strix 2GB card off someone from offerup for 45$. I bought it thinking it was 4GB, in fact, he told me it was, my plan was SLI so I could boost my frames for a bit. However, windows does not give you an option to SLI cards with different VRAM. is it possible at all to pull it off? at all custom BIOS anything. any help is appreciated. :)

Looking at getting a 2070 in the Summer and was wondering if the 2070s auctully support SLI/NVLINK. Thanks

Certain cpus have integrated graphics that are comparable to some low end graphics card. Ex: Ryzen 5 2400g. Would there be a way to maybe run crossfire or sli with another gpu. I know in sli they need to be the same gpu, but crossfire has wiggle room... don’t really know much about hardware and stuff, just thought about that, and wondered. Most of you know much more than me on these things so thought I’d ask

before I ask my question, yes I know I am better off selling my 2 cards and getting a better one. i recently got a 2nd 1070 amp extreme for cheap ($125 ebay) and got a 2 slot hb sli bridge. the length is too long so I did a little research and learned there is no rhyme or reason to each manufacturer's naming system. I would prefer a zotac bridge to match my gpus,s but will gladly settle for which bridges are for approximately 60mm. the cards are are in slots 2 and 4 in an asrock z97 extreme6 if that helps. thanks in advance for the help. LTT forums are definitely the most helpful on the internet.

Can you take 2 old workstation GPUs, (ie quadro 4000) or just two older graphics cards (ie GTX 570) run them in SLI, in a EGPU setup? or can you just run it as 2 egpus working together over 2 connections?

Hi Guys, because i have to buy a new Monitor (my old one is "worn out"), i will go with a nice 1440p one. but... i don't think my current setup (i7 4790k + MSI GTX970 + 16GB DDR3 RAM) can push that many pixels with today's games, so i have to upgrade. The best way would be to build a complete new setup. But i'm on a budget and can't afford a complete rebuild. My plan is saving up ~1500€ to build a complete new PC in around 1 to 1,5 years. So my idea was to buy a second used GTX970 (~90€) running SLI and later than i buy a complete new setup. Or i could hurt my wallet and buy a modern GPU like a RTX2070 (~500€) and later put it into my new PC. So if you have any opinion or data on this... Thanks :D

Gotta ask , would Msi gtx 970 , and gigabyte gtx 970 oc windforce work in sli ? (both gm204 , both 4gb ) ??

Basically, aside from gaming, is there any other application or task I could put a crossfire system up to that would benefit from crossfire/sli? I know Nvidia has deep learning stuff, but it's probably better to use each GPU standalone. What about rendering? Vray for example? I know mining has virtually no positive impact with a multi-GPU setup.

Hi! I have a Asus GTX 1070 strix, I wasn't looking for a new card but I gota reeeealy good deal for a GTX 1070ti. (A so good deal that I would earn money money if I sold it). So now I have to gpus, I can only use one of them other then when I'm rendering. I have a friend who has a Asus OC GTX 1070. My question is: Should I exchange my 1070ti with his 1070 so I can run sli? Then we both get an upgrade? Any thoughts on what i should do?
