Budget (including currency): $1500 Country: Qatar Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Heavy Blender, Apex, Halo, Minecraft, Fortnite Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am buying parts for a PC and I am 3d modeler. I am currently working on a crappy Lenovo ThinkPad and want dual 3060's in the future. Only one GPU for now. However, I don't know what motherboard to get that will support dual GPU's . I have already selected these parts: Ryzen 5 7600, MSI Ventus GeForce 3060 12G, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5200 16 X 2, NZXT H5 Flow RGB, MSI Spatium 1T, Noctua NH-U9S Black, EVGA Supernova 850 G6 80+ Gold, and I plan to upgrade storage in the future. I want to be able to upgrade GPU's over time and I need some Serious help with this.

To my understanding, a graphics card that display artifacts can either have a dying GPU or faulty VRAM, correct? In the first case, it's just a matter of time for the card to die altogether, with the GPU losing contact with the die. But if it's the VRAM, can it be used as a secondary graphics card for a SLI setup, or would the artifacts be displayed on the screen? Someone told me that the GTX 1000 series was projected to display a black screen if any sector of the VRAM is faulty, and that's why you don't often find artifacting GTX 1000 GPUs. Does it work similarly on another generation of cards, so I can distiguish between good or bad SLI candidates?

I have an AIO liquid cooled 2080 by GIGABYTE in my system right now (13700k, z690 board, 32GB DDR5) Lately I've been noticing that I am VRAM bottlenecked on a few of the games I like as I only have 8GB. I'm fine turning down settings, but it would be nice if I had more. Conveniently, I have a 2nd air cooled 2080 by EVGA hanging around and I was wondering if it would be possible to add that card to my system in to double my VRAM. Both cards have the SLI connector thing on the side. I know a lot of games don't support dual GPUs for rendering frames, but would I be able to somehow just use the EVGA card for extra VRAM? I have no idea how SLI works or anything, so this might not even be possible, but I thought I would ask.

Hello. I have a ZOTAC GTX 1080, AMP! Edition, since 2016, but before that I had other graphics cards from ZOTAC, such as a GTX 660 Ti and two GTX 970 (actually four), one of which failed and was returned. My question is whether it is possible to do SLI between the AMP! Edition of the GTX 1080 and the Mini model. I ask this because my GTX 970 SLI was not as smooth to run as it should have been. Firstly, I had a GTX 970 Dual-Fan, which I still have today, and I bought an Extreme Core, but there was no way to SLI them both because they were incompatible. I returned it to the shop and bought an identical Dual-Fan, but this one didn't do SLI either because the part-number didn't match. Then I received another Dual-Fan, which had a slightly different part-number, but it worked along with the card I already had. There are several reports on the Internet, such as this thread: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/user/180172//222166// There's even a post of mine among them. Anyway, what I want to know is if I will have problems when trying to use a GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme and a GTX 1080 Mini. I don't know if this nonsense (incompatibility) of the 900 series also affected the 1000 series.

Multi-GPU setups like SLI and Crossfire once ruled the PC gaming scene, but micro stuttering and development complexity have made them obsolete. Why, then, are we boldly predicting that the future of gaming is multi-GPU? Ross Tregemba's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@gtastuntcrew302

3dfx was the king of the graphics card world in the 90s, and in a flash they were gone. The Voodoo 5 6000 was the last GPU 3dfx produced, and released – Could it have changed the face of PC gaming?

Not for gaming for AI. Having more ram available to a large language model would be big business. background: For AI workloads there is a cool way to double your memory with an Nvlink adapter. Source https://discuss.pytorch.org/t/is-there-will-have-total-48g-memory-if-i-use-nvlink-to-connect-two-3090/100378 Two 3090's effectively gives you 48GB to work with in AI workloads only. 4090's don't have nvlink and are limited to 24gb. Which means 2 3090's is cost effective at loading bigger ai models. I know sli is a stutter mess for gaming. But from reading It works with AI (haven't tried). But running inference (not training) a large language model might take closer to 800GB+ of VRAM. You can run on GPUs with VRAM, a CPU+ram, CPU+SSD storage of some combination. But to get stuff like this to run at a decent speed it need Vram and GPUs. Buying the GPUs with Networking jacks built it like 80gb a100 is going to like $16000 each according to Ebay. Could some kind of Nvlink to fiber adapter (aka media converter) be made in theory? Does it exist but I'm calling it the wrong thing? I say fiber because the nvlink adapter has " 56.25GB/sec of bi-directional bandwidth or 112.5 GB/sec". Is this the type of thing that requires hacks like the cypto hash rate limiter. Maybe the bios/drivers need hacks (not sure which it would be). I believe there is a niche in the market for people who want to run large AI models for cheap like hobbyists and maybe researchers with out the biggest budget like the developing world. It would consume more power and run slightly slower but be less so much less initial cost per GB. it's a difference of like $200 a100 per GB vs $33per GB on 3090 a GB on used hardware. And AI is big business. Surely there is enough margin for someone to try and develop the tech. Would it be a law suit waiting to happen? I think a Chinese tech company could get away with it, spying concerns aside. I want AI to be more accessible to your average, or at least in this case well off nerd. Sometimes the tech company's let people type to the AI in a walled garden, occasionally they release the model. But only the rich can afford to run a lot of stuff. There is some cool stuff you can run on your computer like stable diffusion. It generates images from your words. Also small language models. I'm not well of enough to afford all these 3090s. I just wish it existed and the barrier to entry was lowered.

I happened to be going around my parents patio when i found a pretty strange motherboard from around 2008 My father had built this computer god knows when, i found a CPU inside of it that says Intel 06 QX9770 Extreme, from what I can see its a board that back in the day supported SLI, if anyone can find any information on this board, Im pretty sure it still works but Im not sure. If anyone can find information on this board that'd be helpful

Good day, My Intent: I have two identical MSI GTX1080 ti Gaming X graphics cards I want to SLI. I wish to put a water block on only the top card. I want to put the water block on the better performing card. My Rationale: While many of the games I play do support SLI, several do not. I want my best performing card under water so I can squeeze every bit of performance out of it for these non-SLI games. When SLI is in use, having the top/master card under water will allow for a better overall cooling solution than two air-cooled cards, without the expense of a double-GPU loop. My Problem: I am testing them with the case panel removed, no obstructions, with the fans at 100%. Both cards still thermal throttle, even at stock power/clock settings. My Testing Method: I am using MSI Afterburner to OC, Heaven benchmark to stress-test the cards, and Riva-tuner to monitor stats. My Question: How can I determine which card is the better candidate for water cooling when both thermal throttle with air coolers during the benchmark, even at stock settings? I don’t want to end up putting one card under water, just to see it peak at 2025MHz, when the other could have reached 2090MHz under water. I also do not wish to go through the hassle of swapping the waterblock back and fourth several times while I am benchmarking. Supporting Hardware: My loop includes one 280x140x45mm push-pull front radiator, one 280x140x30mm push top radiator, and also cools the CPU (4790k, 4.7Ghz @ stock voltage). There is a bottom mounted 120mm fan blowing air directly into the face of the lower GPU. Thank you for your time, Matthew

Hi there, I'm Pablo from Argentina. I'm having an issue with a desktop pc i'm trying to build for my gf. I had laying around an i7-4770k with a maximus vi hero formula, and two gtx 1080 i stopped using. The issue i'm having is that the second card isn't recognized in the BIOS GPU DIMM POST. Basically it shows only the first GPU in the x16 slot. I had a single-slot gt 640 from a nas server i use and decided to chunk it in the third PCIE slot.. and voila... suddenly GPU DIMM POST shows all three cards in x8/x4/x4 config. I do not understand why this happens and would really appreciate some help from the community.

Hello everyone! Im Marco from italy! I entered the computer world a FEW DAYS AGO! I recently made my first computer, here are the specs: Case: Case Carbite 270R Win MB: Z390-A PRO Ram: 32gb (8x4) ddr4 3600 mhz Corsair Vengeance LPX CPU: i7-9700k GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super Gaming X SSD: Silicon Power 512GB NVMe: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB HDD: Seagate 1TB Supply: Seasonic FOCUS px 750w 80 plus plat CPU cooler: Corsair Icue H150I I'm not here just to show the pc but to be one thing. If I mount a different video card, even less performing to use for secondary services on my computer, could this upgrade improve the performance of the computer? Thanks for help! p.s Im using google translate for my bad english sorry.

I have 2 graphic cards Nvidia 1650 Super (4GB) and AMD 550 (2GB) and I wanted to sell my AMD card but cant find good buyer. So I was thinking can we make SLI for that or not. And If we could then will that help in performance or its just make it worse.

Hello, I have been trying to fix my SLI issues and I think I might of finally find the reason but don’t know how to fix it. When I look in my Bios my cards are listed as running at x8 PCI and x4 PCI even though both cards are most definitely slotted in the correct lanes. How do I change it so they are running in x16? Currently when I go into Nvidia control panel there is no option to even enable SLI specs: Ryzen 5800x 2x16gb Corsair 3600 2 MSI lightning 980ti Asus ROG Crosshair vii Samsung 980 m.2

Hello, Today I did a partial rebuild of my system. By that I mean I replaced my CPU, motherboard, and ram but did not replace my two MSI 980ti Lightning’s. Went this route while I’m waiting to hopefully get my hands on a GPU sometime next year. However after completing the build and firing up the system I checked to make sure everything was in working order. I noticed that SLI is listed as disabled in hardware monitor and when I go to Nvidia control panel to turn it on, there is no SLI menu option. The cards drivers say they are up to date. Specs: Ryzen 5800x ROG Crosshair vii 2 MSI 980ti lightning windows 10

Hey guys, I could use some help, I've put my first PC together. I seem to not be able to put the GPU's in SLI. I've uninstalled and re-installed the drivers, I'm not sure if the GPU's are just old or if my bridge is bad. If you guys have any ideas please let me know.

Hi, I put a 2nd GTX 1070 in my PC today to play with it in SLI. However, it is neither recognised (device manager) nor does it receive updates. I had it in another PC before and it worked perfectly. What could be the reason for this and what can I do about it? Best regards Ratatte

Hi, I am wondering if it’s worth upgrading/possible for my pc. I mainly play games on my PlayStation but from time to time I play some pc games (in 1080p and 144hz if possible). I use my pc for video editing also! Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card, and what card would you recommend (thinking about bottlenecking). And do you recommend any cpu? (Basically I’m looking if there are any upgrades available to let me improve graphics/FPS in games). Is getting a second gtx 970 and doing sli an option? (Even though I probably have to upgrade PSU then). Or should I wait a year or two and get a completely new pc when the new graphics cards hopefully are cheaper? My current build is: (PSU) Cooler Master B500 (CPU) Intel core i5-4690 (Motherboard) Msi B85-G43 Gaming (Ram) HyperX Savage Ddr3 1600Mhz 24GB Ssd

Hey there everyone! First off:I am a very BIG fan of retro gaming stuff and i am just playing around with older hardware for fun and pushing things to its limits. Now heres the problem...actually i am using a HP Z230 Workstation (got this one for free as a sortout in my company), so far so good -its a nice machine imo. Now i got my hands on two geforce 9800gt 1gb (one from Zotac the other one is a PNY - also for free). These cards are able to use in sli, and of course i want to use it to see how they perform. Now is the main problem that the mainbord isnt SLI "ready". I found a page of some russian guy who created a mod to use SLI with every mainboard So far so good, unfortunately, these stuff is really old and non of the links still work... I got one of the mods working (autoSLI i think), but the only thing i get is a BSOD cause of the nvmllkmd.sys file. I would really love to get this working and it drives me crazy i cant figure it out how to do it.... Can anybody help me with this? System Specs: HP Z230 Workstation 400W PSU I7 - 4790 32gb 1600mhz DDR3 Zotac 9800gt ECO 1GB PNY 9800gt ECO 1GB SLI Bridge mounted Mainboard- cant really tell Btw: sorry if my english aint all correct, i am from Austria (not Australia) and my english isnt quite on top anymore

so im gonna get a gtx 690 and no i dont want to buy a diffrent card and no dont tell me that it isnt worth it but because the gpus with my 3200g only run at 8x speed will i still be able to run my gtx 690 in sli mode because sli wont work if the cards are in 4x speed if using normal sli

I recently acquired a sas card but I can't figure out how to set it up properly! I'm new to this and I naively started looking for some software, driver or utility to install, but later found a documentation pointing out the "ctlr+h" key combo at boot. Problem is that when I try to do this (as shown in the picture below) right after it blinks "WebBIOS will be executed after POST complete", the screen turns black and it either reboots to windows or hangs indefinitely with the black screen doing nothing... If WebBIOS means it needs netowrk (which I don't think) I'm connected through a working network card. I've seen other SAS Controller cards with batteries and think it's just for protection in case of power loss, but mine in any case doesn't have it if even if I'm not sure it's the culprit... This is my card: It was advertised as "LSI 2208", and this is the Amazon link where I got it. Unfortunately I had to wait around a month before trying it out as I had been busy at work and can't return it now, so I really hope I can manage it to make it work! Thank you in advance Edit: In the boot screen picture it says there are 0 virtual drives, I'm not sure if it's related, but actually I have a SFF-8087 to 4 SATA cable connected to 4 drives, 2 of which have a windows software raid mirroring, and the other 2 are normal blank drives..

I know the general rule of thumb is to go with a single GPU, but with prices of new cards not normalizing anytime soon and some older generations of used cards still going for way more than what they are really worth, could it make sense to buy older matching cards and running them in SLI/Crossfire for some kind of performance increase in the interim?

I am looking for help with a SLI issue with GTA5 i know the game has sli support but for some reason on lowest settings i'm barly getting 60fps it shows i have 8.1gb vram in the settings but using 2.3gb i tried using one card and there was no change but also both cards are only running at 15-30% usage on sli and 40% using a single card i should be able to run the game no issues. i used to run the game for a few hundred hours on 100+fps if anyone has a profile for profileinspector i could try aswell that would be great CPU i7-4790k @ 4ghz Motherboard asus rog MAXIMUS VII HERO RAM 8,192 MB Kingston DDR3 x 4 GPU 2x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 sli oc

I know this post sounds like it would be from ten years ago but, does the P8H61 Mobo support SLI? Full Specs: ASUS P8h61 Plus i5-2500k gtx 460 550w psu This is not my main PC, its just a project thing and i was thinking about buying another 460 and run it in SLI. The motherboard itslef has one 16x slot and one 1x slot. i've heard that running a gpu in a 1x slot isn't a good idea but i thought because its an old GPU maybe this didn't matter. I've also heard that H series motherboards dont even support SLI so this idea would go completely out of the window. Can someone please confirm? Does anyone have any advice?
