Hello forum, Today i have received my PB278, i f**king love it! The only problem im finding is my desk is pretty much filled from that beastly stand, so i guess my question is does anyone know any Triple monitor stands that will support my 2 24' on the outside and my 27' in the middle for sub £100 (cheaper the better). The triple monitors will be used for productivity and no gaming will be done across them, becauase of this i see no reason to spend £150+ on a fancy monitor stand. I just want something that works. Also NEEDS to be in this orientation (Below) Thanks

I understand the the "CSM" is the Micro ATX equivalent of the "Plus". Is this a good mobo? (cause I think it is & ASUS is an awesome brand). Also do you get your bios, drivers, etc. from the A88X Plus support page, since "CSM" doesn't have one? Hey everyone! Today I'm going through frozenCPU trying to find a proper radiator or 2 for my upcoming build. The case I have is a Rosewill BLACKHAWK-ULTRA and it comes with 2 230mm Fans on the top where I'd like to mount either one double radiator or 2 singles. My problem is, they dont make 230mm rads! Now I'm fairly new to this so correct me if I'm wrong on that. However, I read that some of the smaller (200mm) rads come with compatibility brackets to be able to mount them on a larger fan. The radiator I'm looking at says that it comes with that, but only supporting up to a 225mm fan...so my main question is this: Is a 230mm fan really a 225mm fan and people just call it 230 for more ease? or will the bracket that supports up to 225mm not work on my 230mm fan? I am looking for a GPU with the performance of the 770 or 780 with a blower design that is also 260mm or less in length. I would prefer the blower design if possible; I am looking at the Define Mini or Arc Mini R2 for a case (keeping the drive cages installed), and don't want heat building up. So far the only cards I've found that fit within this form factor are the 770 Twin Frozr from MSI. Maybe someone can confirm whether the 260mm limit that Fractal sets on that case is not a hard limit, and will allow for a few extra mm? Recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Both of these videos have been uploaded to youtube, but if you look carefully at the size of the buttons or functions on the player they're different. In one they are totally bigger than in the other. What causes this? I think there might be a youtube setting you can change for your channel or it may have to do with the format of the uploads. Then again it may be a feature that only big channels can choose to enable. The smaller icons look sleeker to me. What do you guys think? What changes the size of the icons on the player? When I upload 1920x1080 MP4 videos they look like When some other channel uploads look like Here's another big channel that uses the "fat" player layout like what my default videos use. -
Hi, I'm on quite a strict budget for my first PC and was wondering what the drawbacks are of going for an mATX motherboard compared to an ATX motherboard. I intend to use my PC for gaming without overclocking any components, however I intend to add (in the future) more storage drives, and use maybe an extra PCIe slot for a PCIe SSD or something like that. Anyways, the mATX boards are generally cheaper which I find appealing however I feel that in opting for this - I will be losing performance potential (I know this isn't necessarily true). I can buy an ATX board within my budget, but to save some cash for put towards other components (such as increased storage capacity and more RAM) it would help by buying an mATX board. Thanks for the replies, this is something that has been pondering my mind for quite a while and I can't seem to get a definite answer.

Article at Variety. ... Do these people even understand how technology works? Or what "Resolution" even is? Seriously. This is some backwards thinking. It's like listening to a 4 year old try and tell you what is the way that things should be done. They're trying to do it in a somewhat logical way, but they lack so much information and understanding that they sound ... stupid. Maybe that's because the Movie industry does thing in fairly stupid ways? Maybe it's because they are too traditional and aren't modernizing to changing technology? And people ask why pirates exist? Because this industry is lead by people like this. Who understand nothing about how their money makers are made. This is about the only good thing I found that he said. It's mostly true. You should do what you love, but sometimes you need to relegate what you love to a hobby rather than focus on it as a profession because not everyone can be good at what they love. You get the idea. What do you guys think? Everything that's been going all lately has me fairly frustrated. People have always said the leaders were out of touch with what they lead, and honestly, I'm only beginning to realize how true that is. Either they are out of touch, or malicious in their intent (i.e. paid off). Either way, they need to be replaced in my opinion. -
Initial Size and Maximum Size, what should they be? I read about free space fragmentation which is what I'm having right now (Defraggler says 0 Fragmented Files, 0% Fragmentation) after Quick Defrag, then after full defrag where it actually moves your data into it's own sector, it fragments some of my TF2 and L4D2 Steam files. Also, I checked "Stop VSS while defragmenting, but my Volume System Information gets fragmented. I've found this situations happening with Piniform programs, such as their CCleaner. If you wiped free space on the Cleanup section, it will not wipe free space ever again. It seems that Piniform programs don't save settings properly.

Hi guys, For my DT AS (english second last year of high school for you 'Muricans) I'm designing a triple monitor stand for eyefinity/surround setups. I figured I'd conduct a small survey here to find out some facts about the average eyefinity/surround user. So apart from answering what size your triple monitors are, (or the triple monitor setup you want) It would be awesome if you'd answer the following set of questions: What features would you like to see in a monitor stand? (cable management, audio/USB passthroughs etc) Would it be possible for three displays to sit on your desk without a custom mount/stand? How much adjustability would you require? (portrait mode, height adjust etc.) Would you want a stand that clamps to a desk or stands on it like the XFX stand? Thanks for your time bchampion96

Hi guys, So I am beginning to look around for some monitors for my gaming setup (not Eyefinity), and I am planning to go 1080p this first go around (4K once the monitors come down in price/can handle 60FPS). I was wondering what everyone's take on 23" VS 27" was and why (as the title says). You might say "Why even consider 23"?", and the reason is simple: Pixels Per Inch (PPI). However, I do not know the difference enough to know which would be preferred and if the difference would be noticeable. Considering 23"s are cheaper, that is another plus. Understand where I am coming from. I have been using a 42" Sony Bravia 1080p 60Hz TV as my primary gaming and computer monitor for over a year. PPI sucks here. Horribly. Input lag is not so bad, it is noticeable but not game breaking. I chose 23" VS 27" because 23 is where most of the smallest 1080p monitors are while 27 is where most of the largest 1080p monitors are. Those are the smallest/biggest sizes of monitors that still have variety in brands, from what I have seen. I could be wrong, but that is what I have found so far. So, what is your input? Introduction: You may have seen me post around quite a bit telling people not to buy the 4GB variants of the 760, 770, 660 TI or 680 or the 6GB variant of the 7970; this is due to a little factor called the memory bus size it's hard to explain it on a technical level while still making it easy to understand so I'll simplify it down to a real world analogy. What exactly is the memory bus? The memory bus is the pathway that your gpu uses to access the memory it has and is generally measured in bits (8 bits = 1 byte :P ) this works together with the memory clock speed to work out exactly how much of the memory can be accessed per second. So how will it effect my graphics card? Think of the memory as water and the memory bus as a tunnel, if you need more water than your memory bus will let through then you're going to have to wait a while to wait for that extra water to come through. If your graphics card has memory bus designed for 2GB and your add another 2GB then you've added more water without being able to get that extra water through the memory bus. What about memory clock? The memory clock is like the speed of the water, if you increase the speed of the water enough then you can push more water through the small memory bus ^_^ the issue is however that you need a pretty large speed increase to access double the water in comparison to before. Conclusion So if you're buying a variant of a graphics card with double the memory then make sure that either the memory clock is increased or you know you'll be able to increase it (gpu boost 2.0) otherwise all that extra memory (and that extra cash) is wasted. Since memory clocks generally aren't very very high a good rule of thumb is 128bits and 1000mhz effective memory clock per gb (this can change to 64bits and 2000mhz and vice versa so make sure you do your math :D to work out if you're going to be able to use all that memory) P.S. I thought I'd add in my Titan calculations for any of you mathematicians reading this (attatched as a txt) and by my calculation a titan would need exactly double it's effective memory clock speed to access all 6GB of it's memory that or it's only accessing 3GB of it's memory and since we've already seen the titan use more than that leaving me with the conclusion GK110 only needs half the memory clock to access all the GB which to me is a crazy revolutionary advancement O.o titan calculations.txt

Hi there guys i have a question i'd like to have answered. (For context on my situation please refer to the first post of my previous thread: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/49113-raid-10-for-fraps/) What stripe size should i use for my raid 10 array knowing that i'll be recording large files to it, but keeping in mind that it is also going to be used for storage of other files such as documents, pictures, videos, program installers and also video editting? I've read that usually its best to have a bigger stripe size and i think it would help the actual video recording files. But what about the other files, especially if i start installing games on there should my SSD fill up?

I've been looking for a large mouse pad, or rather a deskpad since the size I need is at least 35 x 15 inches. Coming from a Microsoft 3500 and going into a first build I am hesitant to find a fitting mouse. I understand it's best to go into a store and try them all out but all we have here is a Best Buy and a couple of low selection comp parts stores. I haven't found anything there. It's also hard to determine another's fit but this is my last shot at opinion before I just pick one and hope for the best: My hand length: 6.5" Pinky to thumb stretch: 7" I have 2 picked out, but have my dislikes for either color or awkward shape and size: Steelseries Sensei (color doesnt match Corsair k70, no thumb sniper button) Corsair m65 (unsure of the size, blue led) Now, I'm quite used to the 3500 I use but it is rather small in length. I also play fingertip/palm style. Main requests are appropriate size, color, and dpi button. Any suggestions are great. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi guys, I was wondering, how small will icons and text be on a 4K desktop? Particularly ones in the 27-30" size category. I imagine it will be very small. To the point that it actually might be a problem in seeing or managing them. And, on that note, how will moving a mouse across it work? I know it can be difficult maneuvering across an eyefinity desktop without high DPI on your mouse. I ask all these questions, because I'm curious how upping resolution will directly affect these things. What do you guys think? Thanks, Vitalius

hello, i've larger ears than avarage and my ears hurt with my current headset. so i was wondering what is the diameter of the earcups? from outer edge to outer edge. and the diameter of the inside so inner edge to inner edge. would be nice if you could messure left to right and top to bottom. after i know what size they are i can decide if i want to buy the ATH-M50. my ears are: top to bottom: 3 cm left to right: 2 cm thanks in advance, k0enf0rNL

Hi! I was wondering if there was any half-sized 5.25 inch bay reservoir.What I mean by this is a bay res that allows me to keep the cover of the 5.25 inch bay on to maintain the aesthetic on the corsair 350D. The main build log that I am basing this build on is this one. As you can see, the bay has a pump/res combo. I would rather go with the half -bay res and a vario d5 pump + top to go in between the PSU and the GPU. WATER COOLING STUFFS: 2x 240mm rad (38 mm thick) Fans! (4 total, two on each rad) EK 780 classy block EK cpu block EK maximus VI GENE block (maybe) EK vario d5 pump + purtyful EK top The main concern I have with going with a tube reservoir is that I may not have enough room for it with my gpu and a wireless card (optional) stuck on the motherboard. Have any of you guys ever built in the 350d? is there enough room in there for it? Thanks in advance if you reply!

I have little knowledge of the magic that occurs inside a CPU, but something that I've always had a question about is the industry's obsession with making chips smaller/putting more power into chips so that they are, of course, smaller (so you can use them in notebooks/tablets) and more powerful (they're better at stuff). However, say we look back at a standard desktop processor; I'm going to take a wild swing and say that adding more physical cores to a processor is hard because you need to work out how to fit them into a small space, including other parts such as cache and some GPU cores. Why not just make the whole processor 'bigger'? You wouldn't need to worry about space, you could *stuff* more things inside it, and heat dissipation would probably be easier. Now, I get that CPU size is pretty much an industry standard, and you'd have to manufacture new coolers and motherboards to accommodate the new size, but are there specific reasons why Intel/AMD don't do this? TL;DR - Wouldn't bigger chips mean bigger performance dooyyy? -
Hey, I've been searching for a mouse but i can't find something that i fully like. First off: i use finger grip style, my palm doesn't touch the mouse, i have large hands. I use my middle finger for aiming while index is shooting. ring and pinkie usually sit on the right side. (see picture). Currently I'm using this mouse from Trust. model number 17065. The quality is awful but the shape is almost godlike. Only the tail, where my pinkie sits is a bit too big. Anyways, it's cheap and i want a quality mouse. So far I've had the Corsair M40 and the Roccat Kone Pure. Both were great mice. But my ringf. and pinkie couldn't find a comfy position. Also i wasn't abled to easily lift the mouse, which i often do, because I'm a low sensetivity gamer. They had too few grip on the right side. I sent them both back. I also tried the razer ourobouros, which made clear, that my mouse should never have any edges! The razer DA13 is very comfy, i tried it in a store but the clicks are too small. So i am searching for a quality mouse, not too round and small, but no edges either. Good grip on both sides. Standard buttons + forwards backwards. not more. Preferably for a red/black color scheme and with an optical sensor or good DPI settings in the low range. There's no total budget limit but i found the Roccat kone pure to be expensive.

Hey guys, I need some help, I've been building a new PC, this is my first time building one. A friend is helping me, and I am missing the Case/Chassis. I'm from Argentina and in my country there aren't many cases for gaming PCs, so I found the NZXT Phantom 410 Chassis, which is a Mid-size Tower. My friend told me that I needed a Full-Tower Case, but the Specs. of the NZXT Phantom 410 say that the motherboard ATX fits, and my motherboard is ASUS VI HERO ATX, so I think it will fit. But I'm afraid if the video card or other things won't fit. So I need to know if my PC is going to be compatible with this case.
