With a UHD monitor and a bunch of photos to store, my high school friend was ready for a gaming PC upgrade. Did you read the title? It's time for black, gray, and maybe some silver. Besides overkill cooling, nothing much to note. There is a "bug" in the "IKEA Video. " The Swedish pronouncements for the Ikea furnitures, Its was not entertaining to watch. I get the butchering of the names, but i think you get a few more likes if you get the pronouncements a little better. According to The Foreign Service Institute of the U.S. Department of State, Swedish is in fact on of the easier languages to learn. Good news! I noted in another thread elsewhere that there are only so many keyboards out there which are sold equipped with Cherry MX Speed Silvers, my new favorite mechanical switch, some of which don't feel especially nice; a few are a bit cramped on the fingers or have strange-feeling keycaps. Offerings from Corsair are pretty good, but if I got one of those, they'd be trapped under iCue and wouldn't be able to synchronize with my army of Aura-compatible components, and...that's important, dangit! Besides, I recently got myself a ROG Strix Flare, and I love just about everything about it...except the switches it came with. Now Cherry MX Reds are durn good switches, they're smooth and slick and graceful, but as is a running theme with me they have just a bit too much travel for me to want to use them on a daily. And Asus didn't pick up the Speed Silvers, soooooo... I went and bought a G.Skill Ripjaws KM570, and I plan to swap its switches with the ROG Strix Flare's. Just waiting for the G.Skill unit to arrive.

does it mtter what type of power supply i get, like if its bronze, silver, or gold, because my friend told me to get either the gold or silver, but they cost too much, does it really mater

Hi, I am planning on making a 15x15x0.5mm silver heatsink for my Nexus 4 (see here for the inspiration) , and I was wondering how many keyboards do I need for this much silver? By the way, aside from an incomplete Dell Dimension 4700 case transfer (I am still trying to find a compatible copper/aluminum heatsink), this is my first real hardware mod. -
Hi, I'm looking for a keyboard with both a silver base and keys (granted I may need to buy the silver keys post), Quiet/silent would be nice. Any style at the moment, mechanical, tactile, membrane, whatever... just mainly want it to be completely silver... backlight would be a nice touch too.. Any leads?

Hello, with Vega coming up in a week, I decided it was time for a new build. I started planning a black and red build in the Cooler Master Mastercase 5t, but after re-finding an old wish-list on amazon for a silver build, and as I kinda always wanted a Phanteks Evolv atx, I then changed my plans for a silver build in the Evolv atx Glass. The theme would be silver, but I'm afraid that everything silver will be too much, but also that everything RGB would be too much. Here are the parts I can't decide between : Case : Evolv atx glass -> Silver or Anthracite Fans : Noctua redux or NZXT aer rgb RAM : Dominator platinum or trident z rgb PSU cables : white, gray, a combination of the two or another combination altogether Motherboard : MSI x370 Gaming titanium -> it is the only x370 silver board that i could find I don't really like msi bios, but I could live with it The fans will be on the rear and top of the case. I already have silent wings fan for the front intake Knowing that I'll get / already got these parts : CPU cooler : NZXT Kraken x52 GPU : Vega 64 liquid cooled (or air cooled limited edition, depending on the price in Europe) LEDs : NZXT Hue+ (purchased) PSU : Corsair RM750i (purchased)

So, I'm slowly putting together a new computer based around Ryzen 7 and probably a Vega GPU. I'm also very picky with what I want from my parts and it usually takes me a while to track down exactly what I want, which is a real annoyance because I'm not happy just settling for "close enough", but I guess the positive side of it is at least I know exactly what I want? I've been quite happy for the last few years with my 1080P 60Hz Samsung display, but with the upcoming upgrade to a Vega GPU I figured it would be a good time to start thinking about a new monitor to go with it. Of course, there's thousands of monitors out there and while a lot of them do most of what I want, none of them do everything I want. Sup folks, Not too long ago I made a post about putting a model car inside of a PC case. Well, it has arrived today! It's apparently silver-plated... Yikes! Didn't know that (stupid)... I'm reconsidering whether I'd put this in my case, as it's beautiful, but I don't know how well silver-plated stuff reacts to heat (probably around 30~40°C in the case). Maybe you guys know. Anyway, here are the pictures! Bought some cheapo LED strip to see how it reflects the light, looks pretty cool! Let me know your thoughts! Regards, TJ

So my friend wants me to build him a 1500$ PC, the only thing I am not sold on for the color scheme is the case, which arguably sets the tone of the build. Ok, so I had an idea thanks to Linus painting things like GPU's to fit his taste... What about painting or polishing a Razer Blade to be a nice aluminium/silver colour? I would like to know if anyone has done this and it could be a really interesting YouTube video if Linus chooses to accept such a challenge to try. Am I the only one that likes this idea and should this be an option during purchase... If so please leave a comment bellow.

My Siberia V2 frost headset kinda died on my and I need something that matches my white and silver build and also closes me off from noisy roommates, I was looking and found AKG K545s but for a few hundred more I could get AKG 551s which are a headset but the white version costs 100$ more that the black version and that feels wrong Vmoda m100s are an option but I know nothing about Vmoda, Beyerdynamic Custom one pros are what I would lean towards just because it's a brand that I recongnize and have used but I've heard Slick say that they were alittle disappointing during a wan show a few years back so I'm discouraged on them, so is there maybe a better choice I haven't found and if not I need help because I feel like I'm flying blind with this purchase and I want them to last me a few years.

Hello everyone! Back in January, I built my first custom PC. (For specs: CLICK HERE) Back then, I though that Red was the "on spot" look for any gaming build, but sadly my opinions have changed after some time, so I said: I should just paint the red parts silver or white. After doing some research, I saw that it was not that simple. My first method would be something like Linus did a while back, but I dont see this as the best method. Then I came across the same question on toms hardware, with this picture. Question was if it is possible to remove the red part and paint it to a different color. Any of you guys think this is possible without messing up the motherboard?

building a new Computer for myself and the family. so far I have: thermaltake Chasar A71 case (full tower) EVGA G1 750W PSU (yes I know it's a G1... (will try it for now, then possibly upgrade to the G2, or bigger should the SLI980 need it) Gigabyte Z170A UD5 mobo Cooler master H212 cpu cooler still to order (waiting on tax return. Sm951 256gb M.2 SSD in RAID 0, or I may just go with 1 Samsung 950 PRO 256gb. i7 6700K 16GB of corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB sticks (black), leaving upgradeable to 32GB. 1 500GB SSD scratch drive (dunno which one, doesnt have to be lightning fast, just a scratch drive for editing/short term storage before going onto my 4TB+ NAS, or getting burned. this will comprise the system and will run with onboard graphics until I build up a little scratch to buy either a 980ti (future SLI), or Titan X(single) with a decent 4k monitor. waiting on new releases from AMD/NVIDIA.
