Hi guys. I currently have a Fractal R5 hosting a i7 6700k cooled by a Dark Rock Pro 3 and a Msi gaming x 1080, all cooled by three Noctua Noctua Redux NF-P14s, and I was thinking in going to a watecooled system for the CPU and GPU with one of the EK Predator 280 prebuilt kits. I really value silent operation for my system, and wanted your opinion on this: Do you guys think my current system can get more silent by passing from the current air cooled setup to the EK kits. Generally I do value more silence operation over temperatures and overclocking . Thanks

Hey guys! I'm sick of my old trash PC.. so I wanna build a new PC for the first time by myself (I will get help here and there but in general I wanna do it on my own). I'd like to spend about 2000€ but a bit more is still okay I will use it mostly for gaming (Battlefield 1 I'm coming) I'm playing pretty much everything (racing, shooter, everything) and a lot! But I will use it also for Web browsing, movies and some editing. I want it to be silent.. a Silent Gaming PC. I will use my "old" Full HD Monitor but I wanna upgrade to 4K in the future. I will always only use 1 Monitor on my system. I'm currently using a Logitech K200 Keyboard and a Gigbyte M6980X Laser Gaming Mouse but some new stuff may be nice ^^ A Logitech G930 is also in use.. so a soundcard isn't needed atm. GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1080 GameRock Premium Edition CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 SSD: 1x Samsung 850 Evo 250GB & 1x Samsung 850 Evo 500GB RAM: Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16 Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 XMP 2.0 High Performance Desktop Memory Mainboard: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming OS: Windows 10 Case: be quiet! Silent Base 800 or be quiet! Dark Base 900 1. I'm not sure about the case.. I like both.. wich one is better? Does one exel in terms of airflow & silence? Or would you recommend another case around the same style? (I don't like super-Sci-Fi Cases like the Aegis Ti or boring Office Cases) 2. I don't know what PSU will be needed.. I wont run any additional fans. I will stick with the 3 pre-installed fans in the case and the CPU Cooler.. that's all. 3. Will all those components fit in the case? 4. Are all these components really compatible with each other? Could there be bottlenecking or other problems? 5. Would you change or add any components? Or did I forget something important? Greetings from Germany and thanks for helping

Learn more about Calyos fanless workstations: http://bit.ly/2esac0v Buy Fanless PCs on Amazon: http://geni.us/xewEl1 Calyos isn't a name that most PC enthusiasts are familiar with... But their workstation PC with zero fans or liquid coolers should raise some eyebrows...

Hello, I want to build my first PC and I require help from a experience PC builders. I want to make small sized and quiet system strong enough for 1440p gaming (at least with some titles). Case : for a case I was considering fractal designed nano, since it's small, sound isolated and had window (I know silly...) any ideas are very welcomed. CPU : I've been thinking about intels i5 i8400 or i8600. I'm not sure if it is worth to pay extra for oc that I will never do. And I'm not sure if clock speed will impact my gaming in any significant way. (I need help on that one!). Cost is not that much higher but at this same time I would not like to spend more then I have to specially if I will not utilise it. GPU: I've been thinking about 1070 in small factor I've seen one that appears to be half of the normal size. But I have doubts if I should not wait for 1070ti. Also I'm not sure how it will end up with heat and noise. So I struggle in picking specific model. RAM: I know nothing about that except that I will pick 2440mhz or less since I've heard that there is no point in having faster ram.do you think I can save up few bucks on slower ram? Still 2k tho. Also I have question, is it possible to have too big ram for motherboard? All itx motherboard s looks so small and ram looks so bulky... At least on pictures... I think there's no point in spending too much on ram (correct me if I'm wrong). Motherboard: I know nothing except that it has to be small (as you can see I don't really know a lot.) any recommendations are welcomed. PSU: I don't know what to pick since I don't know what is enough power for my set up plus I would like something quiet. Cooling: I've been thinking about nocture since it's reasonable prize, it's small and buyers clame it is silent fan. Plus do I need car fans for this build? Misc: is there way to pimp look of this set up ?I mean something classy like cables or some small leds. Please if you can make any suggestion or give me any advices for that set up I would really appreciate it since I don't think I want to go for console... Thank you in advance, Lukasz

So I'm looking to get new PC case fans, what are the best silent fans that come in white?

Hi! I'm going to build a new pc. My old one is starting to get old and it's making a lot of noise. I've therefore decided to make the most quiet configuration, that can keep the pc relatively cooled. I've made 4 configuration suggestions and I need someone more experienced than myself to have a look at it. I'm repurposing some old parts. A gigabyte sniper m3 motherboard, Intel i5-3570k processor, 2x4 Gb corsair vengance RAM and ASUS geforce gtx 760 graphics card. Everything else is changeable. It's going to be a light gaming PC, so I'm thinking that I'll run it on standard clock speed.P.S. I know it's called noctua, not noctura.Config. 1 Config. 2 Config. 3 Config. 4

My new 4k Ryzen build is mostly complete, but I need a new case and a better CPU cooler to top it off. Right now I've got it all stuffed into an old Thermaltake Tsunami case, but it's not designed to be quiet, or fit long cards like my 1070. The build so far: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Cx8Pr7 (Yes, those prices are real. Clearance rack, yo) The guidelines I'd like to stick to are: 1. Quiet as possible 2. Room for large radiators and 5.25" drives 3. Kid friendly / rugged - not top heavy 4. Plain/classic styling - could be mistaken for a office PC. (Like a Define R5) 5. $200 or less Things I don't care about: 1. RGB 2. Windows I'm looking into AIO coolers as a result of the "kid friendly" requirement, as I'd like to overclock this 1600 further. I would get a giant Noctua / BeQuiet! cooler, but a kid knocking over a case might crack the MB or the CPU. I did look at the Thermaltake Core X5 (http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00002806), but wasn't sure how noisy it might be.

Hi, I'm looking for a keyboard with both a silver base and keys (granted I may need to buy the silver keys post), Quiet/silent would be nice. Any style at the moment, mechanical, tactile, membrane, whatever... just mainly want it to be completely silver... backlight would be a nice touch too.. Any leads?

Hi, I'm trying to replace all the switches in my keyboard with the RGB silent mx cherry red switches. I can't seem to find any of the RGB version (someone on a post said there isn't a difference, but I don't see how the light would shine through an opaque switch) for sale anywhere. Can someone give me a link?

Hi everyone, I have been a user of the corsair k70 rapidfire for over a year now. Very happy with it, I think it's by far the best keyboard I've ever used (and I used quite a lot as a software engineer). My only complaint if I had one, would be that the wrist rest is a little small but not a big deal. Anyway, yesterday I also got a new keyboard for work. And I got the K70 Silent. I thought It wouldn't be a huge difference with the rapidfire and it will be silent, which would be more beneficial for work. It arrived this morning and returned it the same day. I ordered another rapidfire instead. I was surprised there was such a big difference between the rapidfire and the silent. One of the biggest reasons I do not like the razer keyboards is because of their matte finish on the keycaps (subjective opinion). This k70 silent had to my surprise also a matte finish on the keycaps, which I was very surprised to see, since I love the almost glossy keycaps of the rapidfire I have. But the main reason why I returned it, is the feel. The rubber dome makes it feel less satisfying, and more importantly, even though the actuation force is also 45g on the cherry mx silent, they felt slightly more harder to press and None of the keys felt smooth when pressing them down as if they were slightly grinding on a rough surface. Is this a known thing? Anyone else here who experienced both cherry mx speed and silent who can share his experience? And also how come Corsair has different keycap finishes? How come this is nowhere mentioned? I checked online videos that compare the rapidfire with the Lux cherry mx red. And you can clearly see the difference, where the Lux has the mat finish and rapidfire doesn't. Anyone knew about this?

So my friend is building a small recording studio type thing and wants to build his own pc for it too? His budget is about £400-£550 (not inc. Windows nor a GPU as it's not for gaming). Can any recommend specs for a really quiet PC than has a good amount of storage for big projects and can handle intensive tasks? ?

Assuming the power supply is fanless, the CPU/GPU have a giant heatsink that transfer heat well but make no noise and the drive is a SSD, would this build be possible and practical with the cost and form factor concerns met?

I currently own an Antec Kuhler 1250. It is loud and one fan is broken. It still works great for keeping my cpu cool under load, but even with the one fan, it is louder than I would like. Both fans aren't designed to be removed, so replacing the fans isn't an easy task. I've also stopped the single working fan and can still hear a lot of noise coming from the pump. So my question, what is the best silent AIO CPU Cooler? I was looking into be quiet's water coolers but can't find them anywhere. The fan included DOES NOT MATTER, I can always replace the fans for silent fans. I will not be overclocking the CPU either. I just need a silent AIO with a silent pump. Can anyone help? I record audio and video for a podcast and several YouTube channels. As of right now, I get the best results recorded everything and doing live streams from my laptop, but would love to use my PC, if I can get rid of fan noise from the case. Please help.

I looking into building a completely rubber computer case . . as in the whole thing is made of rubber! I'm looking at these type's of rubber to use as the bottom and sides of the build . . https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A48NF8W/ref=s9u_simh_gw_i1?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pd_rd_i=B00A48NF8W&pd_rd_r=3EN4V9HHM648JF8CB5R0&pd_rd_w=Bey9w&pd_rd_wg=Z5N5A&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=J3CHMC0AX14EG5QXD7T8&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=781f4767-b4d4-466b-8c26-2639359664eb&pf_rd_i=desktop But may go to a test bench type setup if its any easier. Also I'm looking into using a "topper" like this to have it go silent if needed (with air vents/holes where necessary) > But I'm wondering if anyone has ever seen or tried this themselves? The video of Linus using plastidip got me thinking of it . . . I've been building PC's since 1999 and haven't seen anyone try this (but the cardboard box build has always been an old favorite of mine)

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/thebigguns2727/saved/#view=jdnbvK Because I sleep in the same room as my PC I want to make it really silent because im not planning on turning it off. I have a budget of about 2500 Canadian dollars and I am planning on using 2 1080p IPS displays and right now I already have all my peripherals. This computer will be used for gaming so therefore I would prefer my hardware to be really cool and silent at the same time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello good people, I am a novice to network storage and would like to ask for your help or input. I would like a get a NAS, preferably without breaking the bank, and I am a bit lost on what would work for me. My intended use case would be: - Use it as a PLEX Server - Store Media, especially HQ video for PLEX - full back-up of my DVDs etc. - Back-up of my live-system (I.e. personal photos, office documents, emails, other) - I assume it will be idle for most of the day, so it should be energy efficient - access is by up to four people in my household as well as by another four close family members via internet (would like to be additional remote backup for parents and siblings that are not that tech-savvy). Not more than four people should be accessing it at the same time, most likely just one at a time. Sounds pretty pedestrian so far and nothing a prebuilt NAS should struggle with. However, I would like two more things that make it hard for me to find the right thing: - reliability/ redundancy (I don't want to lose all data if a drive goes bad) - it should be silent! The NAS will be in a room where concentrated work is being done and therefore should not be annoying (library sound levels are preferred). Unfortunately there is no other place to put it. So, people in the LTT forum, can you help me point into the right direction on what to get or where to look? Any recommendations? EDIT: I don't have any drives and will basically be starting at zero! For storage, I am looking for 10TB of usable space, plus the option to expand. Thank you very much for your help and greetings, MortusAntePortas

Hey guys , i was wondering if some of you could give me some advice on the best budget/ silent/ performance fans ? I need 2 intake fans for the front of my case , it only gets airflow intake from the bottom and the top ( like in the picture) from the front of the case , should i get Static pressure fans ? like the corsair sp 120mm so they can push more air in those thight spaces ? Note: It would be nice if they cost around 15-20 € (each) Note2: i plan to plug my fans to 3 pin connectors thar are controlled by those switches you can see on top of the case , each switch controlls 2 fans.

I have been looking for a silent gaming mouse for a while now, and I have noticed that all of the "silent" mice that I have seen only make the right and left click buttons quiet. Some of them even make the side buttons and middle click louder that on a regular non-silent mouse. Has anyone seen one that has silenced all of the buttons?
