Apparently (if I've heard correctly) if you are running your AIO on max fan speed 24/7 your PC'll fail to boot after shutting down... I wish I knew that earlier... I've watched videos of how to fix my kind of problem BUT mine is a little different. The videos suggest going to the BIOS and fixing things, but my PC isn't making it to the BIOS and keeps shutting off after barely posting the error (CPU Fan Error). I tried clearing the RTC RAM, checking connections, and even mashing F2 trying to get to BIOS before it shuts off. I got to BIOS ONCE and then it shut off again after flashing the BIOS screen for a second. What should I do now?

Hi all, my system shuts down whenever I play the Monster Hunter World. It recently got an dlc update and because of the anti-cheat used, it taxes my CPU to 100% whenever I start the game. Then about 10 minutes into the game, my system would just crash and restart by itself. I tried monitoring the temperatures with OpenHardwareMonitor, and with the game n, it runs about 60+ celcius. With running any games, my system is fine and does not restart unexpectedly. I'm not sure what's the problem here, and whether I'm in need of any upgrades of components. What could possibly be the culprit here or how can I find out which component is causing it? Is it the PSU? Is it the CPU? Windows 10 Home Intel i7-7700 16GB Corsair RAM ThermalTake SmartSE 630W

I installed the new Win 1809 release on four of my computers yesterday and on my computer that I use as my daily driver, Asus Z170-A, i7-6700K, 32gb ram, 480gb NVME, I am not able to use the Shut Down to turn the power off. I did find that I can hold down the Shift and then click Shut Down to power off but I want it to work properly. It has never done this before. It goes through the shutdown process then goes right back into the windows boot sequence, but no POST, not the same as restart. Help! Thank you!

Hey guys I have the following problem. My computer which is runs on Windows 7 just shuts down. And I dont know why. It most often happens when I play Rainbow Six for a while. (Like 3-5 Locker games). Whenever the computer crashed I have turn off the power of my powerspillter. Whatever you call that. Not to forget that the CPU or GPU is not overheating. It is beeing used tensly but not overheating. Howver if it would overheat the computer shows me that the fans are not intensely used. So more cooled air would flow into the computer. I am clue less. Hope I didnt miss out on any important information. Processor: AMD FX-8350 Grafics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060-6GB Have a nice day and thank you for any help I can recieve.

Hi all. Last night when I woke up, I went to go on my PC (it was left on as it is mostly always left on when I sleep) I then smelled some sort of a burning smell but I wasn’t sure where it was coming from. I was on the PC for about an hour and then I launched GTA 5 and played, after about 30 minutes of playing my PC just completely turns off. I thought it was a plug or something that made it shut down. I got some food, came back and made sure the power cable was on, switched the power supply button on and off and then switched the wall plug on again and it booted up, after about 5 minutes it started smelling like burning again but I ignored it. This time after booting up GTA 5 after 2 minutes of playing my PC switches off again. What is the issue here? Is it my Power Supply or something else in my PC? I’ve had this computer for 2 years with no issues before. Specs: i7 6700k GTX 970 16GB DDR4 500GB HDD Corsair CX750M PSU Please help me out, I’m not very experienced with PC’s and I just want to game again

Hello, I am having trouble with my MSI GS40. Just shut down, and happened 3 times after I tried to reboot. I'm waiting for cooling down a bit, (I thought maybe it is because thermals, but was not so hot) for try to reboot again. Any idea why and how I fix it? Update: It's not turning on anymore.

I just did a clean install of the latest Nvidia game ready driver 456.55 via the GeForce Experience app and since then whenever I shut down the system windows just remains stuck on the "Shutting down..." screen forever and won't turn off. I've used the power off button on the case twice now, no other way to shut it off. Anybody else having this problem or had something like this before?

Hello! I bought a Lenovo Y700 15ACZ yesterday and brought it home to test, but today, when I launched Furmark and Unigine Heaven 4.0 at 39% battery, in 15 seconds it shut down entirely and when I connected it to the charger, it indicated 0% chagre. I tried benchmarking while plugged in and it works good. I also tried charging it to 100% and playing youtube videos for about an hour and a half and the battery held up pretty well, but I can't figure out why it doesn't run for more than 15sec while unplugged. While the laptop is tilted or upside down, there seems to be a rattling sound, as if something is in the cooling fan, so now I'm wondering if I should just return it. Do you guys know what causes this kind of behavior?

Hi guys, I need some help. My PC suddenly shut off while my nephew was playing and wouldn't turn on anymore after that. No lights, nothing when I press the power button. Strangely enough, my USB fan runs when it's plugged in though. After tinkering around, I tried removing the GPU and it lit up at least and gave me a vga bios error so it seems that both PSU and Motherboard are fine. And so I opened up my graphics card and saw that there was some oily moisture buildup on the back side of the PCB and oil buildup on the memory chips. It wasn't from the AIO because there was no evidence of any leaks and the moisture was from inside the GPU Shroud. My question is what could have caused the oil buildup? And would that mean my graphics card is dead which is causing my PC to not even try to post when it's plugged in? Thanks!

Happening since quite long (1 yr) now. At times it shuts down as expected otherwise it takes too long for it to happen, the monitor goes to sleep, and the system keeps running waiting for power off. What could be causing it? I changed several versions of Windows before this and I have no malware or badly-behaving apps, no BSODs so far since the latest official MSoft ISO build.

I have a computor that I bought on black fryday about 6 months ago it is the cyberpower gua1400bst just recently it has begun randomly shutting down. It doesn’t run through the shutdown procedure the screen just goes blank and a couple seconds later the RGB shuts off. I haven’t found any connection to when it shuts down and something I am doing. Sometimes I am able to use it normally for almost an hour and sometimes it shuts off before it has even made it through the boot screen. Unless my software is lying there isn’t an overheating problem I have a brand new nocturnal cooler with the cpu never getting above 42 degrease C. The graphics Card is about the same the other day I started the computor and didn’t even make it to the login screen before it shut down. I immediately powered back on and got all the way in and watched a movie for almost 45 minutes paused it for about 15 minutes and when I came back I hit play and it immediately shut down. It seems completely random to me I can’t figure out what the problem is. Any advice would be great

My UPS shuts down completely whenever there's a power outage while gaming. This has resulted in multiple save files being corrupted. What could be the reason for this? Thing is, I can load these very same games when the UPS is on standby without it turning off. WTF? I have: Cooler master lite 600W PSU i5 7600 (w/ stock cooler) ASUS gtx 1060 3gb 2 hard dives (2tb + 500gb) 1 Sansung evo 850 (250 gb) SSD 3 case fans A WD elements external hard drive (usb3.0) ASUS H270 PRO motherboard

Yes, I have read a lot about this topic on many other forums with not enough of an answer, so I'll ask here. I've been having an issue for the past ~4ish months about my computer abruptly shutting down. I've had to ignore it because I have not figured out what is going on. I must fix this issue before upgrading :(. I believe it may be dodgy connections because I move my case around a lot (between homes, et cetera). I have heard the PSU I'm using (CX500M) is not made for gaming and is 'dodgy', being made of cheaper components. Not sure. My build: CPU: AMD x4 860k (FM2+) CPU Cooler: Hyper 212x RAM: 2x 4GB ddr3 MOBO: ASUS A6HM-PLUS GPU: ASUS GTX 750 Ti 2GB OC PSU: CX500M Storage: 1x250GB SSD, 1x1TB HDD (7200RPM) Fans: 3 120mm + CPU Cooler 120mm fan + GPU fans + PSU fan But I will upgrade to: CPU: Ryzen 3 1300X CPU Cooler: the stock stealth one that comes with the cpu RAM: 2x4GB DDR4 2666Mhz MOBO: ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS GPU: GTX 1050 Ti I don't believe this issue is about how much the PSU outputs as I've used online calculators. Should I get a new, more reliable PSU or go through each cable testing connection? Maybe something else? Thanks.

I'm having the time of my life trying to figure this out. My computer is shutting off at 30 minutes on the dot, I've been using my phone as a timer. I have stress tested the cpu & gpu to make sure it wasn't a heating issue. I booted into safe mode with no drivers to see if it was a Windows issue, but no luck, still occurs. It also shuts off in bios at 30 minutes exactly. now others are saying it's my motherboard on its last legs (I hope not, can't go without a pc for a while). has anyone had a fix for it besides replacing motherboard? I have also updated bios, cleared cmos. I haven't reinstalled windows, I know it's not a Windows issue. any help would be appreciated

Hello everyone, A couple of days ago, I installed a Kraken x52 + Kraken g12 into my Rog Strix GTX 1080 A8G. Before this, my temps weren't that bad, under full load, about 70-71°C (158°F) but the fans were almost at 90% and man, that was pretty loud, so that's why I decided to install the AIO. Once installed, the temps went down to 51-54°C (124°F) and barely can hear the fans on my PC. The problem here is that I started to notice that the GPU could not be Overclocked anymore, prior installing the AIO, I was able to get into the 2100's Mhz on the Core Clock and now I can barely hit the 1900's Mhz. Also happened with my OC in the CPU, which is a Ryzen 5 1600, prior installing the AIO, I was able to get to 3.85 Ghz and now I'm only able to get up to 3.5 Ghz. The temps on both are really low, like I mentioned before, under load, the GPU stays in the 51-54°C and the CPU stays in the 54-56°C. NOTE: As my CPU cooler, I haver another AIO, which is the CoolerMaster Master Liquid Lite 120 I'm not sure if it has to do on how I connect the Kraken x52 cables, but here's how I did it. Pump into Fan header and set to MAX RPM Kraken G12 fan into Kraken x52 fan cable + 2 fans from the Rad Micro USB from Kraken x52 into USB 2.0 port in the motherboard On top of that, my PC randomly crashes, even with the lightest OC and just by being idle. I already set everything to default and ran Prime95 for CPU stress and Heaven benchmark for GPU stress and it seems that the crashes stopped, but I can't figure out why I'm no longer able to OC. Here are my specs before and after the installation of the second AIO. Before OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bits Version 10.0.16299 Build 16299 Case: Phantek Eclipse P400S Tempered glass 2 top fans (the ones that came with the case) 2 front fans: InWin Polaris RGB 1 back fan: Rad + fan of the MasterLiquid Lite 120 Motherboard: Rog Strix B350-F Gaming - Latest BIOS from Asus support page (v.3401) CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 CPU AIO Cooler: Master Liquid Lite 120 RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x 8GB 3000 MHz GPU: Rog Strix GTX 1080 A8G - stock fans PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750W P2 SSD: Samsung 850 EVO - 250GB HDD: Western Digital 1TB Other: Led strip that came with Phantek case After Case: Phantek Eclipse P400S Tempered glass 2 top fans (the ones that came with the case) 4 front fans: InWin Polaris RGB + Kraken x52 fans (I got a push/pull config, the SP fans are pushing and the InWin Polaris pulling, I left those just for the aesthetics) 1 back fan: Rad + fan of the MasterLiquid Lite 120 GPU AIO Cooler: Kraken x52 + Kraken g12 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Company: Acer Aspire Model: Aspire X3990 2011 Windows 7 home premium running on latest windows 10 versionI have a 2011 Acer windows 7 home desktop with monitor.(MODEL: ASPIRE X3990) The monitor sits up on a desk and the desktop on the floor. There was a cup of water right beside the edge that was beside the desktop (yah i know stupid but I've had it there before, its like this is some karma). i bumped it somehow, it spilt right through the top vent and around. it had to be within a minute that between the spilling and me screaming 'NO!' multiple times that it shut down by itself. I unplugged everything within 5-10 minutes and turned it upside down and made my fan face it for about two hours. Called acer support and talked to two people, both say wait a day, one says to put it in direct sunlight tomorrow for the whole day and it should work again and one says to make sure its dry and bring it to a technician. Everyone on the internet has agreed that taking components within the computer and placing them in rice is the best option but I don't even know if it opens up, and i don't know how to take apart the components, i will probably mess something up. ADVICE AND WHAT ARE MY BEST OPTIONS ARE WELCOME THANKK YOUUU (UPDATE: its been drying on its side for about 6 days now, had a fan faced towards it for 2 days, took it to a local repair shop yesterday and waiting for a call tomorrow about whether it turned on, if it needs repair and cost.) What are my chances? Remember, I haven't turned it on since.

Hi there, I was having random instant shutdowns with my setup for the last 5 months during normal desktop activities, gaming/full load was fine. I decided to start upgrading my system by swapping my PSU. My old one is an "beQuiet Straight Power 600W 80plus Gold" and got the "Seasonic 650FX Focus Gold 650W" 2 days ago. Desktop activities, like browsing, watching movies and so are working without any problems, no shutdowns. However, during gaming, my GPU shuts down mid gaming. The rest of the system still works, as I was able to still use discord. The game stopped too. I did some stress tests in FurMark without any problems. The GPU was at 100% (Powerlimit was at 100% too) load and at 69°C (83°C VRM Temps). Then I tried some Heaven Benchmark 4.0 and it crashed at Ultra Settings after some time. After the 3rd attempt and reinstalling NVIDIA drivers, it also passed the benchmark somehow and the games were running flawless again. Hours later, the same problems started again. Crashing ingame. My specs are the following: Intel Core i7-2600k @4.5GHz Asus P8P67 Deluxe rev3.0 G.Skill Sniper 1333MHz 8GB DDR3 Asus Strix GTX 970 Samsung 840 Evo WD Black 1TB WD Blue 1TB Noctua NHD-14 CPU Cooler Windows 10 64bit, latest updates installed any help would be appriciated, thanks!

I have been having a problem for the past couple of days where my computer shuts down randomly. It just shows the blue screen that says "Shutting Down" and then turns off. Sometimes, it will turn back on automatically as well. I tried replacing my psu but that didn't work. I have also been monitoring my cpu temperatures so I don't think overheating is the problem. I checked for a virus but found none. I also formatted the hdd and reinstalled windows but the problem still occurs. I also checked for faulty cables by trying different ones and I disconnected all my internal components and reconnected to see if the problem was happening because of a loose connection. No luck. Any suggestions? Please help.

A while back I bought a 1080 ti, and my pc started turning off only when i played games. I thought it could be because of my psu or overheating, so I bought a CPU cooler and the problem stopped for some months. Now I started playing Shadow of War and this problem came back, but it happens almost everytime I open the world map (just happened once or twice when i wasnt in the map), so I thought Id buy a new psu; but im afraid that wont solve it (since it mostly happens in that exact situation) and ill waste like 300 bucks (the psu id need is pretty expensive where i live). Hi, After like 3 months that i build my new system it shuts down randomly. Not only when playing games or when my pc has to work but also on idle moments and even when just in bios. Normally i would think it would be the PSU or temperatures, but i checked all of these. And if it would be the PSU then i would think it's a constant factor. But my PC can play games like all evening without a problem and then there are days that the PC Shuts down a couple of times in a row. Sometimes with 2 minutes interval and sometimes like 10 minutes, and there are times it takes hours.. idle or in use. But u can see i can't trust this system like this. I provided some screenshots with temperatures in idle. The only thing that jumps out for me is the Chipset temp witch is like 78 Celsius idle. I already tried to apply new thermal paste on cpu (artic silver 5) and used the Linus video for reference. It cant be dust because all is new hardware. Anyone had this to or knows what the couses this?
