The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled. What does this mean?

Hello, I was accessing a hub via EiskaltDC++, and accidentally shared some files that I should not have shared. Is there any way to take them down? Also I do understand that if someone has downloaded them, that cannot be changed, but if these files remain, it will be easy to identify me.

Hello, After (what I consider to be) extensive research, I cannot find how to transfer files over an ethernet cable connecting two PCs directly. Has anyone done this? (Or know how it would be done?) Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I'm new here and a bit of an amateur, so please bear with me. Last year my friend gifted me a 2011 mac. I have since bought a pc with windows 10 that does almost everything I could want, however the mac has Logic Pro and a number of other useful music-related applications. My plan is to keep the mac in my music room connected up to the mics etc, and send any other files over that I might need. For example, I want to send over some live gig audio from my camera (which the pc is infinitely better at dealing with) so I can chop it up and eq it in Logic. I know I could just put the files I need on physical storage and move it around, but if I manage to set this up it'll be much more convenient. I have gotten so far as attempting to connect the mac to a server. It asks me for a password and I'm not exactly sure what one it's asking for. I've tried all the passwords for everything I can think of. Apologies for the quality of the attached pic. I'm using a standard keyboard on the mac and don't know how to screenshot Can normally botch my way through this stuff but not today it seems. If anyone could take the time to somewhat walk me through this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dean

I shared my steam library with my friend yesterday so he could try out Rainbow Six siege for a few hours before he buys it. He doesn't have enough money to purchase the full edition, so he plans on purchasing the starter edition. I was wondering, since I believe your Rainbow six siege data is managed by Uplay rather than Steam, if he plays the game and unlocks some operators after making an account on the shared full version, and then purchases the starter edition, if it will save all of his unlocked operators and maybe even keep the full version's unlocking system. What do you guys think?

I apologize in advance for anything extremely dense that I ask, for I am very inexperienced in networking. I just recently built my new home server/NAS (specs at the bottom of my sig) and I want to get started actually using it as a NAS. However for multiple reasons I have to run Windows on it so I'm looking for the best way to share files/folders on the server between that and my main PC. It seemed for a bit like setting up a homegroup was the best solution since they are both Windows 10 PCs, but the problem is I need to keep the NAS secured from others on the network, either by making it only visible to my PC or putting a password on access to its shared files, which it doesn't seem like a homegroup can do either of after some brief research. So what would be a good solution for me?

So I have 2 Servers at work. Server 1: Windows Server 2008 R2 Mainly used for file sharing to all of the computers in our office Server 2: Windows Server 2016 Mainly used by me to get familiar with the OS and whatever I'm doing (This is an older server that we don't use anymore) I do the website design for our company and I would like to start working from home but I want the files stored at the office so that I can always have the current version on-site. I know that I could use a cloud solution like Google Drive but I would like to use that server so that I can access files that are stored on it when I need to from home for things other than the website as well. I believe there's a way to remote access in but I am either having a worst case of the Monday's ever or I just don't know the correct solution. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi, so i have 2 USB External HDDs connected to my PC basically full time. Now i wanted to share the info from them on my LAN. So basically did this guide. http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=138002. Normal sharing in windows. Now i set these up on my Main internal HDD (WD Black 2TB), my OS/Programs SSD (kingston 120GB), and the two USB External Drives WD 500GB Passport, and a WD 2TB Ultra. I am trying to access them from my phone using es file explorer. Scanned LAN, connected to my PC and it shows all the shared folders no problem. However i can only access the internal HDD and SSD. selecting the External drives shared folder path gets nothing. I know how to portforward the drive, setting up an ftp server website but this will only allow me to share one external drive at a time. Any Advice? Edit: Solved .. Sort of. The drives were connected via usb hub. connecting them directly to the motherboard and resetting up the sharing worked. Is there a way around this? eg. assigning the drives a unique ip and navigating directly to that?

Long story short, setting up local network over Ethernet between 2 computers through routers (linksys wrt 1900acs) gigabit Ethernet ports. Using wifi adaptor (asus USB-AC56) for internet while changing over. Everything is fine. Both computers can see each other and transferring over Ethernet at 111MB/s. so easy, having a great day. Inb4 wifi adaptor crashes cant see any wifi networks. Go to re-boot and accidentally put it too sleep. tring to wake it up to restart it blue-screens (don't have the error code). re-boot and now my PC doesn't show up on the network even for me. I can see other computers and transfer to them over Ethernet at 111MB/s but no one can see me.

I'm trying to find a solution where I am able to use one set of 2.1 Logitech Speakers that connect via one AUX cable to multiple devices without have to plug them into the difference devices. For example, the headphone port in my monitors to get the sound from my Chromecast to the speakers as well as being able to use the speakers on my desktop and possibly other devices I wish to connect. Essentially I'm looking for an AUX input hub to a single output AUX connector that I can plug my speakers into. I've tried searching for a few things but no luck. I don't think I'm searching for the right things. Hope this isn't a confusing request. Thanks

Hi guys, I'd like to connect two w10 PCs and share their drives via ethernet. I am completely new on this matter that's why I hope you could help out. PC_1: C D E PC_2: C I would like to be able to access D E from PC_2 and if possible make them appear like a system drive instead of a network computer. What would be the most straight forward way ? Thank you very much

I purchased a TP-Link Archer D7 a couple of days ago and ever since, I've been exploring the various features it offers; one of them which is very eye catchy is the printer sharing. I read about it in the user manual and it said: you could share your printer over the network with other devices. I successfully installed and shared the printer over the USB port of the router and I was able to print from my laptop over a wireless connection. Now here are my questions: Can I print while my PC (The one which defined the printer for the router) is shut down? Can I print a document from my android device which is connected to the router? Is the purpose of "Printer-Sharing", being able to share the printer over the network without connecting the printer to the PC? Is the printer-sharing feature in the router the same as the wireless-equipped printers?

I've recently gotten the Microsoft Display Dock for my Lumia 950 XL (sadly USB-ethernet adapter doesn't work) and I want to see how well it performs as a device to work on. Office 365 works like a charm, but I need to use sites located on a secure wi-fi that uses Active Directory and Policy to give access, or wired lan to skip Active Directory and Group Policy. The way it is set up is that we need to add devices to the Domain, add the device to a spesific group in Active Directory, use a wired connection to the servers so we can update the Group Policy on the device, all to get access to a secure wi-fi network. Windows 10 phones don't have access to be added to domains, nor update/change any policies as far as I know, so connecting to the wi-fi network is impossible using this. Using my laptop and using the "netsh wlan" commands I can share my laptops connection of the desired network, but my phone gets a 192.168.x.x address and can't connect to the sites i require (Note: normal browsing does work) since it's on another IP-range. My question: Is there a way for me to set up either my laptop (running windows 10) or a windows server (either 2008 R2 or 2012) to share it's connection in such a way I can connect to servers on the shared network? As an example: Server I want connection to has IP 10.0.0.10, laptop has IP 10.0.0.11, phone gets IP 192.168.1.2 from laptop through "netsh wlan start hostednetwork". I want connection to the server on my phone, through my laptop. If there is any confution I could try and explain it better.

The router in question is: Sapido Gigabit GR297N Super High Power Cloud. It has 2 USB 2.0 ports. http://www.sapido.com.tw/EN-new/product-gr297n-P01.htm I've been told that router doesn't have print server. Is that an obligatory requirement? Can't I use it if the printer is connected to the router vis USB? Attached USB HDD works; it even has some cloud functions. Is the printer sharing different?

Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to share files directly between a Mac and a Windows based PC over thunderbolt 2 (basically if I connect MAC and PC directly with a Thunderbolt cable)? I know its possible between two Macs, but couldn't find any details about the sharing options/details between PC and a Mac. Does anyone have any ideas? Cheers /dev

So after upgrading my Vertex 2 SSD to a Samsung 850 Pro, I decided to do a clean reinstall of Windows. The previous drive had been upgraded from Win 7 and had a lot of old baggage, and I wanted a clean system to go with my new, fast SSD. The format and installation of my programs is now complete, but it took me a while to get access to my Unraid box and its shares. The solution in the end (after a lot of dicking around) was to add the username and password of my Microsoft account to the Windows credentials for the hostname and the IP of the server, on the computer I'm trying to access the Unraid box from. Took a while to figure THAT one out. So now I can access the shares if I type in \\192.168.1.101 (the IP of the box) or \\hostname. However, Windows 10 does not list the server under Network. Network discovery is turned on, and sometimes after a lot of refreshing and manual updating, it will show up, then disappear again. For instance, last night I was up quite late trying to figure it out. I get up this morning, and there it is showing up. I reboot and now it's gone. I know this isn't a big deal, since I can access the shares just fine by mapping the network manually, but it is#%&/!!! annoying. Using Windows 10 Pro with the latest updates. System specs in my signature. Ideas?

As you may know Nvidia has come our with a BETA version the GeForce Experience with some new features including sharing live what the host sees and even giving the controls to the guest. The problem is that i tried it with my friend (Witch is in another country) and it doesn't work. We had a few problems sending the invitation but we managed to fix it. Now it's almost perfect... except... it's not. He send me the email and I open it in chrome WITH the plugin and seems to work until it gets to something like connecting to friend, and then it stops and gives me this error code: #80020003 Any Idea? P´ease Help!

I got a used MBA for school and I am wanting to print to my local printer. However, my problem is this printer is usb only, and it is set up to my stationary laptop that is Win 7.The printer works great when hooked to the mac by itself, to the stationary laptop by itself, and shared with other Windows PCs. The print job seems to not send to the win 7 computer, I can see the printer and connect fine, but it won't print, and shows the printer as disconnected when trying to print a test page, document, etc.. If you need any more info, screen shots, etc. let me know. This is not urgent, but I need this done before Spring Semester starts. Merry Christmas to everyone, and thank you in advance.

Hey! So first off, just wanted to say that my knowledge of website building is still very basic, so go easy on me. Also I assume this is important, I'm building the site using SquareSpace (Thanks Linus) Everything has been going great, and it's pretty much finished, but there is just one issue, I'm using the 'AddThis' Sharing Sidebar on it, and it works great, but I want to change the text that is tweeted out when you click the twitter icon. I have tried looking around and finding a solution, but nothing I tried has worked (Including the official solution they provide on their site) This may be because my knowledge is really bad so I did something wrong (probably), or just because it doesn't work on SquareSpace, I really don't know. If anyone knows how to get it working so that I can pick the text which will be used I would love for your help/input. Thanks!

This is part 2 of my problem with my Ethernet (you can find the 1st part here: click me!) As you can see this problem is pretty weird. I can't find anything like it on Google and I'm not really sure what I should be searching for. Should I try another Windows version? Or should I reset my hardware some how? Thank you for your help!
