I am planning to buy graphic card in summer break while I go back to Taiwan. I am confusing of buying a graphic card which is new or second hand. Because in same price such as GT 1030, I can get GTX 770, but it doesn't have warranty. I want to play game such as Fortnite, pubg... Also for some game develop. I only have about 4000 NTD (about like 130 US dollar) My Red envelope , so... should I use second hand instead of new one???

I have a tough time choosing between these three cards, all of them I can only find on the second hand market, and I heard they perform pretty similarly. However, here's the pros and cons of each of them For the HD 7850, what is very enticing is the price, being the cheapest of all three of them, however it does not have a warranty, unlike the other two. For the R7 370, I can buy it from a second hand store that offers a 6 month warranty on it, but it comes in as the second most expensive card. Then there's the R7 270x, which I found to be the most expensive of the bunch (almost as much as a new RX 560), but it still is in warranty until November 2020!! Considering my choices, should I just get a new 460 / 560 since I don't risk anything? Or should I go for a second hand one from the list above? I know computer stuff is more durable than it seems, and that the risk of second hand is worth it but I'm still kinda reluctant and need further assurance second hand is ok.

I just recently bought a second hand custom built gaming pc with AMD Radeon R9 Series GPU and I ran an old game I had on my laptop called 'Feed And Grow: Fish', the game started at 27 FPS on the home screen but when I pressed play it went straight down to 8. Just wondering if anyone knows anything I could try to fix this problem, I have looked around on the internet but nothing I've tried seems to work. I'd appreciate any replies that might help. Thanks in advance!

Hi I'd like to build a budget mining rig from an old Dell I had in my basement. But I'm not sure how many GPUs I can run on it? How many risers or special stuff do I need? I know I will have to buy a new power supply. I'd like to run GTX 1070s in aedition to the 960 already installed. I'll also take any advice you wish to throw at me! Here are some pics of the PC

So i made my decision to buy a 2nd hand PC and wait for 2018 to see what new hardware comes up to build my ultimate PC.. I finally found a great deal, here is the main specs: - MSI Armor 1060 6 G.B - I5 6400 - 16 G.b Ram Ddr4 2400mhz Aegis - MSI H11m Mobo - 1 T.b HDD - Thermalteck 630W smart Se Power supply So im meeting up with the seller tmw or after at his place to test the PC, and i wanna make sure that the main hardware are working (CPU, VGA, RAm, HDD). And can't stay at a stranger's home for hours obviously, so what kind of tests should i run to test the CPU, VGA, RAM and HDD without staying more than an hour there ?! Health tests, stress test, Benchmarks, Temps monitoring.. etc... I heard about all this but dnw what is the most trustable tests to run in a short period of time wothout regretting and wasting my money.. Hope you guys can help me.. Thanks.

Hey, first of all I'd like to thank you for reading my topic. A local seller has a GeForce GTX 760 4GB 4096MB over clock version from gigabyte for 130e my main concern is... Will this GPU still perform well in newer and future titles with an enjoyable experience? (Medium/high) ...or, should I pay a bit more for a later GPU? If so please give me some suggestions I have a top end budget for 200e

Hello Members of the LTT forum I seem to have a problem with my MBP mid 2012 model the problem is that at a gig someone actually stepped on my MBP and it broke the unibody everything inside the mac works still just the unibody is broken and the screen is also broken i was wondering if i could buy a second hand macbook pro for parts with a unibody that is in good condition and just move all the parts from my old MBP into the second hand unibody? Keep in mind i do not have a huge budget (which is why i am looking into doing it this way) also keep in mind it would not be the first time i would have to do a MBP tear down and reassemble so i know what i am doing. Also Would i need to get a mid 2012 MBP or can i just get i like get a late 2011 model for example What do you guys think, Would love to hear your thoughts Thanks, Captain

Hey guys, recently came upon this deal. Just wondering its worth its price to go into a budget gaming build. I'm not looking for the highest frame rates and max settings, just enough to run a few games here and there at medium or high settings. I was planning on spending around $125 on the cpu, before I saw this deal. However, I understand that hardware already a few years old like this may be no match for cheaper hardware today. Thanks in advance ps i understand this is in UK, i live here so no problem with buying it lol

My friend is planning on getting a new desktop soon, and plans on following PCGamer's high-end build guide. His budget is around 1800€, though he'd want to save money where possible. I, however, was browsing tweedehands (tldr a dutch ebay so to speak), and found this gem, for 1000€. I suggested getting that and spending the rest of his budget getting SLI and maybe watercooling. Because I don't want to steer him wrong, as he's seriously considering it, I'd like your opinions on the two different setups. EDIT: updated the link to PCGamer's build guide, forgot to add it, sorry. EDIT2: added his budget.

Hey all. I was planning to build a Haswell system (i5 4430) (In Australia) and all was well, had a plan and everything. Then came back to see if prices had gone and the parts had vanished. I can hardly find any retailers in Australia selling i5 4430 cpus they have all been replaced by Haswell Refresh ones (i5 4460). Is this because its the new one and they get rid of the old stuff. I really dont wanna buy my parts second hand and so far i cant find retailers selling just normal Haswell CPUS. Any help is appreciated

So i have an xbox 360 slim with total of 100GB HDD space, no Kinect and my friend is on the lookout for one (doesn't have the means to play games and wants to, but not interested in PC?!?!?) The xbox is in good condition, a quick exterior clean and it will look brand new, no scratches or anything that makes it different from a standard one you could buy in a shop. It has a non-Micro$oft 100gb HDD in it which is confirmed working for any material on there, I have Skyrim DLC's, Destiny update things, BF4 and BF3 visual update things etc, so there is no doubt it works fine. Here is a list of all the games i have for it (all working): BF4 (visual update thing, no DLC) Skyrim (all DLC installed) Destiny (all updates, no DLC) COD: Black Ops 2 Hardened edition (all DLC installed) BF3 (visual update thing, no DLC) Forza Horizon (no DLC) COD: Ghosts hardened edition (no DLC) I will supply the Power brick, an HDMI cable What would u pay for this if you were on the lookout for it? i have no clue and neither does my mate. I want to give him a mates price but don't want to be ripped off either. Im not selling it via classifieds so thats why its not there, am just wanting a price, Preferably in AUD but if you don't know unless in local currency say so and i will convert it. if any more information is needed on the console ask me. cheers (: Also comes with 1 black and 1 silver wireless controller too

Hi Everyone, I've got a bit of a financial dilemma concerning computers and I was confident that you'd be able to help! So, I have a friend who is soon going to university in another country and so is buying, as you do, the new Mac Pro. He currently has a Hackintosh and is offering it to sell it to me for $665 / £400; here's the part's list: CPU Intel i7 3820 MoBo ASUS Rampage 4 Extreme BF3 Edition GPU EVGA GTX580 HC RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB HDD Corsair F180 PSU Corsair HX1050 Case: Custom built w/ window, worth about $150 Cooling 2x XSPC RX360s XSPC Rasa 2x Laing D5 12x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850rpm OR I could build my own. This is, obviously, much more expensive and slightly less amazing currently, but would be more fun, easier to upgrade and more modern. This is the parts list on pc part picker: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3n83o coming to around $2500. Any advice on either upgrading either build or just which one I should get would be extremely appreciated, Thanks a lot, cjsun9

So, there is for sale near me the following deal which I'm tempted to buy. Is this a good deal? "CPU : i7 Hex core 980X (Extreme) retail with intels extreme heatsink, fan etc Motherboard : ASUS X58 Sabertooth that was built specifcally for this CPU with latest bios installed ready to go. Memory : 24GB of DDR Tripple Channel Video Card : Gigabyte Geforce 660ti Together with a brand new never opened still in box ASUS VX238 Monitor 1ms Gaming monitor $990" I was originally planning to buy the following. "FX-8350 Asus M5A990X EVO R2 8GB DDR3 GTX 560ti No monitor $650 new" Should I buy the first set of components second hand, or the second set of components new? What will the performance difference be, and will it be worth the cost? If I purchase the first bundle and later decide against it, how hard will these parts be to resell? Thanks!

Buying a second hand RAID-card, no-brainer or not?
robot drof 1224 posted a topic in Storage Devices
Hi guys, I'm picking parts for my new gaming machine and i just came across this RAID-card, and someone is selling his for €120! Knowing that this card costs almost €700 when purchased at the store, this seems like a no-brainer, right? Well, i dont know and that's why i'm trying to consult someone with more knowledge on this sort of hardware. The card is no longer under warranty and has been in use for about 2-3 years non-stop, he's selling it because it doesn't fit in his new NAS and it also comes with two of the SFF-8087 cables. What stopped me from buying this is the fact that i don't know what i would do with this, i'm already planning on getting a PCIe SSD as a BOOT-drive, but because i heard linus talking about how dedicated RAID-cards are sooo fast, i now wonder if this card would perform better than this thing when paired with 2 SSD's (corsair neutron GTX's or Samsung 840's, both 120GB) and if i would then still be able to connect two physical hard drives and RAID them separately. Lastly, it seems this card needs something like a 200 cf/m fan to cool it, will it keep running at such high temperatures if i don't connect more than 4-8 drives at a time? I would really like some advice on this matter. Thank you in advance.- 1 reply

I have a HP Pavilion DM3-1155EA. It is a 13.3" Laptop made of aluminum and does look really smart. Has memory card reader, webcam, mic etc. Specs: WIndows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit AMD Athlon Neo X2 1.6GHz 4GB DDR2 RAM 250GB HDD ATI HD4330 1.91KG Has normal wear and tear to it. Few scuffs but nothing major at all. Battery still lasts about 3 hours from a full charge. I paid £500 for this a couple of years ago but wanting to sell it and buy a MacBook Pro Retina. Will probably wait until Retina with Haswell is brought out. I am just wondering how much should I sell my laptop for?
