My PSU is making this weird electrical sparking sounds, that varies acording to the system load.... It's a Seasonic Snowsilent 1050W Platinum Full Modular SS-1050XP3. I bought it in 2016, so technically it has warrant, but I've already opened it, so I guess its void. I think that it's probably one component, but I can't identify it. If someone can point me in the right direction (capacitor,transformer,etc..), it will save me a ton of time. PSU.mp4 -
I bougt this kit from CableMod and just to be safe, I would like to know if they are compatible with my NZXT C750. It's actually a Seasonic PSU with NZXT branding according to this review from Toms Hardware (NZXT C Series 750W Power Supply Review | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com)). Anyway, I just want to be sure it won't explode. I don't quite understand how compatility list on CableMods website works (Compatibility – CableMod US Store) but they list Seasonic PSU's, so I hope it's ok.

So i currently have an 750watt CM MWE Gold and it cant handle the powerspikes my 3080 is having. Im looking to buy an seasonic powersupply with like 850watt. Now my question was, How well do the seasonic and 3080 work together, can the seasonic unit handle the spikes the 3080 creates? Does anyone have experience with it?

Hey everyone, I'm working on a new build but I've reached a roadblock in deciding on which PSU is most suitable for it. The components I've decided on so far being CPU: Intel Core i5-12400F Motherboard: MSI B660M Mortar DDR4 RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 2x8GB 3600Mhz GPU: GTX 1660 Super (to be carried over from current PC) My PSU choices are split between Cooler Master G700 Gold, MWE Bronze V2 230V 700W, Seasonic Core GX-650, SF Legion HX Gold 650W I'm aware the wattage is more than enough for my 1660S but I'd like to keep the PSU for the long term when I plan to upgrade a few years down the road. I have my eyes on the 3060/3060Ti but unfortunately I don't see that happening so soon. So with that upgrade goal in mind, which PSU between the four would you guys think would be the best choice? so i have a mini itx pc planning on buying a low profile cooler Noctua AM4 to pull air and throw it at the psu fan and then that exits out the back System setup 140mm fan intake from top with noctua pull configuration to the (seasonic sfx800) psu fan which then exhaust out the rear cpu 5600G question is, is this alright for the psu?

Hey all, so I’m in the process of my new build, just trying to find out the SAFEST most RELIABLE PSU for the build regarding power delivery and ‘supply’ for the build. the build: 12900KS 3090FE NH-D15 approx 10 noctua case fans (4) M.2 SSD’s with about (4) 2.5” SSD’s (2) mechanical HDD’s for storage. the budget isn’t a factor, just looking for what should be “enough, or a bit more than enough” PS: the only reason I’m going seasonic is because of how much Linus recommends it in his videos. No other reason. I would have easily gone with the 1600W EVGA if I had no other choice case: 7000D board: Z690 E Strix

Hello, Background: I just built my first PC!! My case is the 5000D airflow. I have 6 intake fans and 4 output fans (3 from the AIO on the top and one in back). Running i9-1300k and rtx 4080 Was going to get a 1000HX Corsair PSU, but the salesman suggested instead the Seasonic brand of which they only had the 1300W available. Same price. My PC is virtually silent even with all 10 case fans running at 500rpm, while web browsing, light usage. Issue: My 1300w Seasonic PSU is on hybrid mode, so the fan is off until it needs cooling. It is installed with the vent and fan upward to help dissipate heat when the fan is not on as per instructions. However, during light or almost no usage, the fan comes on every 10 min for about 60 seconds. And when it comes on it is very noticeable. Like it only has one speed. High. From what I gather it is not possible to control the fan settings or speed other than the hybrid switch at the back. Because this is my first build, I am not sure if this is normal PSU behavior. Question: Should I return the Seasonic 1300w PSU and get the 1000HX Corsair? That or I am tempted to put another case fan in just below the gpu and above the PSU to constantly blow air down. I can't hear the case fans anyway, so one more wouldn't hurt. Ha. Suggestions or input would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi all, I made a post awhile back asking if i should use my 10 year old power supply with a 4080, I have it running now and everything is running fine but i would like to upgrade my power supply soon as i know i am putting my PC at a bit of a risk running it. I currently have a Corsiar ax850w Gold. So, something strange just happened. I started noticing some kind of electrical buzz in my PSU (a Seasonic Focus Plus 750W), but it only happens when I have the vacuum cleaner turned on (not even in the same room). It's more strange since the electrical installation isn't that old and is fully grounded. Could it be an issue with the PSU or just some strange behaviour?

So i just finished my first pc build, got my hands on an RTX 3070, but sadly no zen 3 ryzen. These are the parts i used, plus some matching ARGB fans. Anyway, I installed windows on it today, and everything is fine, except for the PSU fan annoying the hell out of me. Its constantly turning on and off, with constantly meaning every few seconds, no matter the load. Turning hybrid mode on and off does not change a thing, so as a result im hearing very loud fan noise for like 3 seconds, then 2 seconds of silence, then 3 seconds of noise, and so on. Does anyone know if this is just how this thing works, if its faulty or if this is something else? -

PSU being suggested in any of the blogs and sites with "the best psus 2020" posts, but I think be quiet! makes excellent PSUs) EVGA Supernova 850 G5 157 € (Gold) To be honest, I am leaning towards the be quiet! 850W Platinum, cause it looks like it has the best buck for my bang, but I would like to hear your opinions. My second choice would be the SeaSonic PX 750W Platinum. My third choice would be the Corsair HX750i Platinum. . . EVGA would be my last choice, since an EVGA PSU I had, failed me after 2-3 years..

Hello! It's been a while since I've been on here. But I'll make this quick. I'm considering upgrading my current GPU to an amd rx 570(8gb model no OC, if it matters) from a gtx 1050. My main concern is wattage and running too close to my PSU's reccomended wattage. Here's a list of my specs Seasonic 430w bronze rated psu Ryzen 2200g Gtx 1050 One HDD and an nvme m.2 SSD After some quick googling, my CPU at full load pulls around 70ish watts and the RX 570 pulls a little less than 300, bringing the system power draw to 370 watts leaving 60 watts overhead for the rest of the system. This is my first GPU upgrade so I'm not sure if that's too little for my system or maybe I should consider a bigger PSU upgrade before I buy the GPU Any comments are greatly appreciated!

I am looking for a upgrade to my Corsair CX450. After looking at my low budget and high expectations lol I made up my mind to get the Antec EAG Pro Gold 550w. https://antec.com/product/power/eag-pro550.php Now my current system specs are in signature. What I want to do is upgrade the cpu, gpu and mobo and want to know if 550w should be a bit future proof or not? New build will have a 3700x, a rtx 2060 super and a new b550 mobo. Rest will be same as before. P.S: I think its based on the Seasonic Focus Gold platform (not focus plus gold).

My current PSU doesnt have the connectors for the RX580. My current built is: MOBO - B450m ds3h gigabyte CPU - Ryzen 5 3400g PSU - 550w generic psu RAM - 2x8gb 3200mhz STORAGE - 500GB HDD 1TB HDD 240GB SSD I want to upgrade with an RX580 Sapphire Nitro 8GB, would the Seasonic S12III 500w work with it, is it compatible with my motherboard? Also, is that GPU a good upgrade over the 3400g´s vega 11? Thanks in advance.

I have not seen many reviews or opinions on this PSU as I like to see a couple to three reviews before i make my mind up. I am thinking about replacing my Corsair RM550 as i think it may be to blame for my 1070 Strix and machine blue screening when overclocking my 1070. My old 970 Strix didn't blue screen when i had it. Im thinking about getting a second GPU as well in order to test if it is my GPU pulling too much power. How good a PSU is it? Or should i just get a 750W PSU from Corsair? Thanks in advance.

The Seasonic S12II is a pretty solid PSU for the money. Seasonic reliability, amazing price, and enough wattage for pretty much everything a budget-concious gamer needs. Heck, I own a M12II (non EVO) myself, and I run a freaking 1070 and an OC'd 4670K off it. But there's two revisions of the S12II, a v1 and a v2, with the v2 having one seemingly minor difference that may confuse a lot of people. So what's the difference? Instead of 1x6+2 and 1x6 pin PCI-E, it has 2x6+2. And the cables are flat and black like the M12II, and there's an updated internal design. How do I tell? v1 will just have a fan on top, no grille v2 has a honeycomb grille on top and looks almost like a different unit, as well as flatter black cables. The v1 has sleeved Yellow and Red cables. Why does this post exist? Because builds with aftermarket 1070s and R9 Furies are popping up powered by the S12II. But while it shows up on PCPP that the S12II has two 6+2pins, not all units do, and usually when retailers put it on sale they want to clear old v1 stock. I wrote this bored at a bus stop on my phone, so mind any spelling/grammatical errors.

I decided to look for other PSUs that are not EVGA and when I clicked titanium and I noticed the Seasonic Prime Titanium 750w which is quite cheap at £115 which I think is a good deal for a titanium PSU compared to EVGA. and I heard that seasonic is a good company that make PSUs so is it any good compared to EVGA g2s?
