Any idea how to cover this up without making it look ugly? Accidentally nicked it while fiddling with the usb headers. It’s a zotac gaming rtx 4090 extreme airo. I know it’s a minor scratch but it goes full argb on me so it’s quite noticeable. I’ve tried using a paint pen but the paint doesn’t stick on the scratch itself, but on the surrounding areas where I don’t want the paint to go lol. I’m grateful for any ideas on how to cover this up without making the gpu look ugly. Bought this MOBO for a great price and trying to repair it. There is a scratch at the back from what I assume is some weird screw installation mishap but it doesn't seem deep. Do you guys think this will still be okay?

Well let's kick this off with saying whoops. I might have gotten a little annoyed at a game and hit my monitor. Kinda stupid of me but luckily it was on the bottom at the taskbar literally being nowhere I look I just feel stupid and a little concerned. Is there a way I can fix this at all? Or like it's so small hardly noticed it when I threw my mouse . Any help? 20230928_215128.jpg

Cleaning the dust out of an Xbox 360 and decided to replace the thermal paste on the CPU die and I had some Arctic Silver Céramique lying around. Application was uneventful, but then I got curious and looked up the ingredients of Céramique, and it contains zinc oxide, boron nitride, and aluminium oxide. Zinc oxide is relatively soft, but boron nitride and aluminium oxide are relatively hard and have the potential to leave scratches in the CPU die, which I don't want.

So recently I was just minding my own business on my pc when my cat who is only a few months old comes in my room and eventually comes on my bed then she goes on top of my pc case and then I decided to pick her up and my cat Desperately tries to cling onto my pc scratching it i checked and it looked like it was impossible to remove so are there any ways of removing scratched on a pc case?

So I got this build mostly finished up, I was in the process of troubleshooting some stuff and in the process of tightening the mounts for the CPU cooler down with pliers I scratched the board. Beforehand it seemed to be detecting the RAM but afterwards it seemed like it wasn’t detecting it at all. How bad did I screw up, or did the RAM and/or motherboard become defective on their own somehow?

I just de-lidded the CPU and GPU on my CECHE01 fat PS3 yesterday morning. The CPU was far more difficult, as expected. When i finished removed the IHS off the CPU, I discovered I scratched a corner of the die face with the metal paint knife I used to cut the adhesive. When I saw the scratch on the corner, my heart sunk immediately. Nevertheless, I applied new thermal pads and thermal paste everywhere and reassembled the console. I plugged the console in and it booted up no problem. I ran a Blu-ray movie in it for just a few minutes to see if anything would be amiss, nothing unusual did. My concern and/or question here, is will this PS3 become a ticking timebomb in any way by having the corner of the CPU scratched? The scratch was significant enough to remove a bit of the silver layer on the top of the die, but it wasn't a deep gash by any means. Unfortunately, I did not think to take any photos before I reassembled everything. I have yet to boot up a game after this de-lidding process, and I have not yet used the console heavily in any capacity. I would ultimately like to know if the thermal paste will somehow corrode that one scratched corner and ultimately brick the console. Or is there any risk of some kind of electrical/ fire hazard with the CPU in its current state? Any advice on what I have explained would be much appreciated. I am not familiar enough with damage tolerances of CPU and GPU dies. I plan on booting the console up again tonight and seeing if there has been any change in the last 24 hours after the de-lid service.

So my friend is building a PC and while trying to unscrew the M.2 screw they somehow managed to scratch the motherboard, twice. If someone could please tell me if it's okay or not and if it is how we can possibly fix it or get it replaced.

As you can see in the image, I scratched my motherboard and doesn't work properly, as in it doesn't turn on but does receive power from the PSU. The only way it can be turned on is if I put my finger around the top left and create a power bridge. Now my question with this is. 1) What type of professional should I look for in order to fix this and how much should i expect to pay? 2) Even if I fix it, would it be safe to use or should I get another mobo regardless?

I have an MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus motherboard I bought last month, and when I was checking the cables to see if they were all plugged in, I noticed what appeared to be a small scratch on it. I'm very paranoid when it comes to building my PC, as this is my first time doing it alone. If there is a scratch, I'm wondering if I should buy a new one for the peace of mind.

Probably a daily thread here at this point, but still. Scratched my mobo by accident, don't ask how it has happened, it's embarrassing. Am I screwed now? I didn't cut any traces, it seems, but that piece of copper makes me nervous. Will only be able to try to boot it in 3 weeks, so can't just test it. Any input will be appreciated.

So I just got the Ryzen 7 3700X. I was switching cpu coolers today because the h60 wasn’t doing so good for keeping the temps low like it did my last cpu. so when I was cleaning the CPU with isopropyl alcohol and a coffee filter before applying the new cooler low and behold SOMEHOW a scratch appeared on the brand new CPU..I just want to know if this is a cause for concern? Because I just spent a whopping $400 CAD on this cpu and I’m most concerned about the thermals and if this is something that will effect anything down the road. Like it’s very minuscule and I may be overreacting but with a $400 chip you can’t blame me... maybe it will come off but I tried rubbing and it’s def a scuff/scratch of some kind.. how it got there, I don’t even know. thanks in advance for any advice.

So I tried to take out my Graphics card by using a butterknife to release the clasp holding it in. I had a Dark Rock Pro 4 Heatsink so I couldn't fit my fingers in. I left 2 scratches and I think I got a trace too but you can barely feel it with your finger. Should I still be concerned?

Hi everyone, I'm starting with Scratch with this script to draw triangles wich so far I made it correct, but now I would like to improve my script by setting to change side length by 10 everytime a new triangle is draw. Eg: set to draw one triangle side length will be 10; set to draw two triangles first will have sides length 10 and second will have sides length 20; set to draw three triangles first will have sides length 10, second will have length 20 and third will have length 30; and so on… The next triangle will be drawn 20 steps away from the top corner of last triangle I have tried setting side as a variable but never made to change side properly, if anyone could amend my script would be great please! Script below: define sides move (10) steps when [space] key pressed set [no of triangles] to [3] repeat (no of triangles) pen down turn ccw (60) degrees sides turn cw (120) degrees sides turn cw (120) degrees sides pen up turn cw (120) degrees sides move (20) steps turn cw (60) degrees end

Scratched my motherboard while doing a repair and now screen overheats and turns off after a couple minutes. I know this is the culprit tho since I already switched out the screen and still same issue. Is there any way to fix this?

Hey, so I've been working on designing a custom PC case, and wanted to know what people think! It is very large and over the top; the main material of the final case will be eleven gauge steel, and the side panels will be quarter inch steel plate. Yes. It will be heavy. 3 5.25 inch bays 16 3.5 inch bays 32 2.5 inch bays Every panel will be able to be replaced with different ones. Ie, 2x200mm fans in front to 6x140mm fans. Attached is a render of the final case, as well as pictures of a sheet metal prototype for mockup purposes. Average pc case frame for size comparison.

There doesn't appear to be a dead pixel...just a slight scratch. Tried applying some vaseline into it, left it for a few minutes, didn't work. Any other solutions that might work? Sorry if it's not too visible in my phone camera, it's the best I could do.

Hello! I'm no longer doing the 2 systems in one tower. I'm actually stuck with the case and can't return it. I'm not sure if I should use the case anymore as its super massive and would look pretty empty with one system. So, I'm just going to stick with a one system that I will be using for mainly gaming, streaming, editing, and general use. Here are some thoughts: I do love the fans, but I'm not sure if they're worth getting that many. A lot of people are suggesting to not do a water cooling system for my first build. I would like to have some insight from you guys.(I keep leaning towards getting a different case) This is what I have decided to get so far: Link Uncertainty: *Should I stick with the current SSD I have? or should I just have more storage as SSD and not bother with a HDD? *What type of 1440p monitor do you suggest (perferably with +200Hz) *Should I keep the fans and add water cooling? If not, what do you suggest? *Get a different CPU cooler or keep it? *What type of Optical drive I should get? *Do I get a sound card? If so, what do you suggest? *Get rid of the case or keep it? If I should get rid of it, what cases do you recommend for the build I'm going for. (I love tempered glass cases) Thank you all for all the suggestions and comments. It really educated me and saved me a lot money as well. Please do keep in mind I'm very new to PC building. So, I apologize in advance if my questions are dumb.

I have an Asus Vivobook S that I received as a Christmas present, and after putting it inside of and taking it out of my backpack's laptop pouch, it started getting dirt/scuff marks that don't come off when I rub them with saliva or alcohol. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows a fix. Or if they can tell if it's just pain chipping off. If you could suggest a way to cover it up that would be great. Thanks

I just tried to create a new Document but it says - Photoshop Scratch disks are full. I checked my Scratch Disk it has over 40 Gigs free. I have Only one SSD boot Drive of 220 Gigs and currently it have over 60 Gigs free. I even changed my Scratch Disks to my External HDD which have over 200 Gigs free but still the same problem. I tried installing and Uninstalling both CC 2018 and CC 2019 but same problem. Help guys this is critical.

I have an AOC 27 inch IPS monitor with a matte finish. Earlier today I was putting a pair of scissors back on the shelf above my desk when they slipped and scratched the matte coating along with the polaroid, as there is now a small hole of white light coming through the scratch. It's near the bottom of the screen and I was looking to get a 144 Hz 1440p monitor soon anyways, but I was hoping to use my current monitor as a secondary display for productivity. Any way to fix this or is it something I'm going to have to live with?

This is my second Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro WiFi from Amazon. The first one had a few bent fan headers, so I exchanged it for a new one. This time I managed to damage it all by myself! While installing a defective ASUS RTX 2080 graphics card I picked up on eBay, I didn't immediately realize that the I/O shield was badly bent and contorted so it was sharp, and it scratched the PCB and the cover of the Audio driver thing (idk what it's called, pictured below). One of the scratches exposed a sliver of copper on the board's surface. Does it look safe to boot? Is this cause for serious concern? All my parts are brand new besides the graphics card which caused this issue, and of course I'll be returning that. I cannot exchange the board again. I would have to get a full refund now and I would prefer to keep the board because I got it on sale for a good price and I really like it.

I currently have a VR pc in my living room using a fractal design node 202 but its noisy AF. VR-PC: ASRock Z370M-ITX/ac Intel core i7 8700k delidded GTX 1060 6GB (i got a good deal for a 1080 ti from someone buying a rtx 2080 ti) 16GB DD4 2200 256 NVME boot drive 512GB SSD drive (game drive) corsair SFX 600w power supply water cooling is all EKWB stuff I had laying around from some time ago. so I decided I would use some space from under the sound bar the tv uses to make a case of similar side and put the sound bar on top. this will make it way bigger than the node 202 but will make use of currently unused space and allow me to water cool the pc and reduce noise. this is the space I currently have. and this is the current idea i am thinking of. I am still iterating over the case design, and what materials to use.
