Hi guys, I'm fairly new to this forum so please forgive any mistakes. So here is my situation, I'm going to be building a PC and I've decided on the s340 for my case. I would like to OC so I've decided to watercool. I would like to put the H80i v2 in the back and then there would be a 120 mm fan in the top as exhaust and two 120 mm fans in the front for intake. I just don't know if this will be able to cool the CPU (i5 6600k) well enough as the H80i will be drawing warm air from inside the case and also because the H80i v2 uses two 120 mm fans I don't know if it will obscure the water block which ideally I would like to see. If you guys could just help me out and provide some insight that would be much appreciated. Parts List

I got a little carried away with my setup and ended up having to remove the cable management bar from my S340 to fit additional fans for push-pull with the H115i. I also had to put the fan for one of the GPUs outside of the case, on top. EDIT: added new picture with better cacle management and plant on top.

Hi everyone, I am currently in a dilemma between these 2 cases. I have gathered most of my parts for my first PC build and the case is the only remaining component. My PC specs:CPU: i5-7600 3.5ghz processorCPU cooler: Cryorig M9iMobo: MSI B250M MortarRAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 2400mhzGPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming XPSU: Evga G3 550W 80+ GoldSSD: Samsung EVO 850 250GBHDD: WD 1TB 7200RPMFor my first PC, I want a case that has decent build quality and good airflow to ensure the CPU and GPU do not exceed 75c (preferably 70) while gaming. I am a heavy user and do not plan to do any overclocking.I did not consider the NZXT elite as I've read that tempered glass has higher temps, heavier and more expensive. From where I live, it costs $40 more than its predecessor so I don't think it's worth it. I'm not really into aesthetics so no LEDs for me but I do like the looks of the bridge and the inclusions of 2 exhaust fans of the NZXT which will allow me to get 2x140mm Corsair AF fans for front intake to provide a neutral airflow and cooler temps. The case ($109) + 2 fans ($40) sums up to $149.As for the Fractal Design Define Mini C, I love the simplicity, cable management and build quality of the case so a non-windowed version is preferred to minimise noise and possibly decrease temps with the closed window panel. In addition to this, I do not have to worry much about the window being scratched or damaged. Based on what I've read, the case has higher temps compared to the NZXT S340 but lower noise level. I am more concerned to the temps rather than the noise as I will be on headphones most of the time. For this case, I will be getting a Noctua NF-S12A case fan for exhaust and use the 2 stocks fans as front intake. No top fans as this will increase the noise level. From where I live, the case ($139) + exhaust fan ($28) sums up to $167.In conclusion, the NZXT S340 is cheaper with better airflow and looks but the Mini C has better build quality, quieter and more compact (size and weight). Can anyone please solve my dilemma and provide some advice/suggestions? It'd be much appreciated.

So I have the NZXT S340 Elite case, and I am considering to maybe mod the top I/O part of the case to add in a USB Type-C port. I checked the case, and next to the HDD LED, there is about 1.5 inches of flat metal with no electronics. If I am to drill a hole the size of a Type-C port and reroute a USB-C extension cable from the rear I/O to the top, what would that entail? What materials would I need? How hard would it be? And also while I'm in there, is it possible to fit a micro sd card reader next to it too? Thanks!

Greetings folks! Just a word on compatibility if anyone with the ever popular an NZXT S340 is thinking of going for an Asus Strix 1080ti. There is a slight problem fitting the GPU as the holes for the screws that attatch the GPU to the PCI slots dont quite reach. The GPU fits in the system of course, but if you want it to be attached any more securely than the PCIE socket, you're out of luck! I've made do and the video card is mostly held in place by the bracket alongside the PCIE screws. This card is unwieldy though and I'd have liked to be able to actually screw it in place firmly. Looks like I need a case upgrade!

Hello, I have just built my third custom PC (not an expert, not a first-timer) Started it up with no Windows just to check bios. Fans are working, motherboard is lighting up. CPU cooler is spinning. Graphics card is lit up. HOWEVER. the USB ports are not working. I have replugged in the USB 3.0 cord connector multiple times. However these still will not work, so I cant get into BIOS. Anything helps!

the front 3.5mm ports (in and out) on my s340 case dont work although the usb ports work. anyone had this problem?

Hi, I'm looking at the NZXT S340 Elite as the case for my new build, and have been looking at reviews online for specific details other than, "It's good." One that I found (I can't remember where it was) said that the thermals in the case aren't that great because on the front panel, the only vents for air are on the top and bottom. This means that the bottom and top intake fans get the most airflow, but that isn't that necessary, because the bottom fan just blows into the PSU shroud, and the top fan blows air past the CPU, which already has it's own dedicated cooler attached. This causes the middle fan, to not receive nearly as much airflow for the middle of the case, to cool the GPU. So my question is, are there any people here who personally use the S340 Elite, with air cooling that could give me an idea of how the thermals are in the case from their experiences with it? Thanks for the help!

Hey there everyone. So ive been working on my latest build and trying to figure out the best way to mount my graphics card vertically. After hanging out on the s340 elite club forum I decided to create this video as a helpful guide. This is should work in other cases too with 7 slots but I can't guarantee. Perhaps people could list below if they've tried and what case they used this in. Hope you like it. It's my first video like this. I would love feedback too to improve my videos

Hello fellow casemodders . I thought it would be cool to show you pictures of my personal rig, showing you some of the proces too. ️Case: NZXT S340 Elite ️Mobo: Asus Z270-A Prime ️CPU: Intel i7 6700K ️RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 @3200mhz ️GPU: Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080ti ️Cooling: Corsair H115i ️Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500gb ️PSU: Corsair HX850i ️Coolermaster Vertical GPU Bracket ️Cablemod Extensions ️Cablemod RGB/W Hybrid ledstrip 60CM ️Cablemod Modwrap As you've probably noticed already I'm quite a big fan of Asus .This was practically my first true casemod. I'm a big fan of clean looking systems, so I did my best to make my build as clean as possible. The colored parts on the front of the case were handcut with the Dremel Moto-saw. The Corsair logo and the ''Rebublic of gamers'' on the PSU shroud were cut by hand with an exactoknife. The fans are custom painted Corsair SP120 Quiet Editions.I'll start with the final result pictures:The Custom Cablemod (Modmesh) cables and the AIO Modwrap truly made the build shine . Now it's time to tell something about the proces! It all started with the design, which was drawn in Sketchup. This was the first time using my Dremel Moto-saw, I enjoyed working with it very much. The cuts were very accurate and the machine was easy to work with. These were the first cuts I made. Not bad for a first try I guess. After all of the cuts were done the black parts got a paintjob. And so did the red parts The whole picture looked like this, and I coudln't be happier After the frontplate was finished I started on the fan paintjobs. I made a little tutorial on that can be seen under here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The Tutorial can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPzaLbuDOuQ&t=25s <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then the time came to make the PSU shroud cover. The first try wasn't good enough IMO, so I made a new one later on. First-Second down below. Both tries were handcut. At last I modded the Strix 1080ti to fit the theme better. On the back of the fanshroud you can see the molten attachment points which keep the 6 smaller pieces in place. I found that the molten pieces whould be drilled in with a 4mm drill, 3ish mm deep. Then you should be able to whip the parts off with a flathad screwdriver. After getting all the pieces off it's a matter of spraying the parts with the color you'd want them to be.A bit of rain won't stop me from modding! It turned out pretty well . Well applied hotglue will hold it in place well enough. The new Cablemod cables deserved some serious attention on the cablemanagement. I cut a part off the S340 Elite's Cablemanagement bar's bottom part. Using the Dremel 4000, 175 Watts that get through the steel with ease. I used Nanoxia's cablecombs to rout them perfectly down the line. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've had a wonderful time working on this project. I hope you enjoyed reading through this buildlog .If you have any other questions regarding this mod, don't hesitate to ask!Kind regards, Ruben - TheDutchmanModifies

Hello LTT Community! In June, I started the modding of my NZXT S340 tower case that was a bit... underwhelming. Apart from a Razer Chroma sticker in the front and a few LEDs in it I mean. I wanted it to look E P I C so I started improving it... Bit by bit. Get ready for a LOT of images, GIFs and a few talks about each part. So lay back, relax and let's go for a ride. Yup... That's it. ▼ RIG ▼ The first step was to add a backplate to my GPU, I ordered it on V1 Tech and I have to say it's pretty darn sexy. At that time, I was using a Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3 to cool my CPU and it was hiding a large part of that back plate so I moved it to the second PCIe slot and it started to look better already. Summer was hitting hard and airflow was lacking, but some money came in and I bought... Paint. The brand is Liquitex, their paint is made of high quality pigments and I have to admit this is a really good spray paint. I opted for the Cadmium Red tint, the brightest red they had in store. You can find all Liquitex products here I masked my side panel and started cutting of the glorious MSI Dragon I drew... Right off my screen (please don't hit me). It's a long process that requires a lot of elbow grease, and a lot of focus. The whole cutting and peeling process took north of two hours. Here are a few processing steps. All of these steps were carefully monitored by my cat Loki. He's a great assistant. And a hugger. And cute. I LOVE THIS CAT. Painted and dried, I finally peeled the remaining painter's tape and cleaned the small bits of leaked paint. It's a water-based paint so some of the tape crinkled and some paint went under it. Here's the first paint stop I made with a fancy shot, while I was thinking about what to do with the front panel. I kept that Razer sticker during this time. Mmmh... Beasty. Then came August. With more money, I bought fans! YAY AIRFLOW!... Then nay heat, as I moved back to South of France... I hate seeing temps above 50 degrees. I ordered two Corsair SP140 and an NZXT Kraken X42 and got rid of my Dark Rock III. While mounting the watercooling and the newcoming fans, I took of the white metal bar from the inside and painted it red too, leaving the NZXT logo blank for it to stand out. Here are some eye-candy pictures of the inside of the case. Then I figured that my PC was pretty much showcasing two brands: NZXT and MSI. I decided to showcase NZXT a bit more, as the big a*s dragon was already representing MSI quite a lot, the front panel had to balance things up a bit. First things first, I had to create a stencil that would fit the front panel. I measured every bit of the tiny NZXT logo on the front panel and redrew it in AutoCAD. I could've printed the logo but hey, let's save trees. Rocky montage to fast foward 20 minutes of drawing and measuring! YAY Masking and cutting as usual, bla bla bla... Here's the final result and some more sexy photos of the final case! "Browse privately AND securely with Tunne" - Wait I'm not Linus. I hope you guys enjoyed the trip through me improving that boring white case into a glorious red and white showcase... Case. Here's the final rig: CPU: Intel i7-6700K - 4.00 GHz CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X42 GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Armor OC V1 - 6Gb RAM: 2x8 Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX - 2400 MHz MoBo: Asus Z170-A Case: NZXT S340 - Glossy White Case Fans: 2 x Corsair SP140 / 1 x NZXT Aer P 140mm / 1 x NZXT Stock 120mm fan PSU: Cooler Master G650M semi-modular power supply I'll swap the stock 120 exhaust NZXT fan for a Corsair AF120 white LED quiet edition fan by the end of September, and buy CableMod custom sleeved cables! Cheers!

I plan to get an S340 and paint the PCI-E brackets and SSD mounts blue because the s340 doesn't have much blue on it. I also have plans for RGB leds from cablemod.com because those are compatible with ASUS aura and the Motherboard I want has support for it (It's a Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura). I have a thread already in the cases section but I think I will get more ideas here. I want to put on some Vinyl Wrap for a racing stripe or something like moderator W-L suggested in the other thread. I don't really have a clue how I want the Vinyl wrap on it. Any ideas? I would really appreciate it.

Hey guys, I would like to know what you think about those two cases and which one you would choose if you would have to. My graphics card is a Asus GTX 1060 with 31cm length. As far as I know have both cases 37cm (without front fans on front) space for graphics cards. So I would also like to know if you would recommend even another case rather choosing between them if you believe there is too less room for the graphics card. Does anyone have more informations on this cases about cablemanagement? CPU Fan space? Thank you in advance!!

Hi, im looking to spray paint the white cable management thing so i really want to know if i can take it out. Since there is already a system in it i want to wait until im sure i can take it out. (I will ofcorse take everything out of the case since im also painting other parts) Thanks

Hey i recently purchased a sapphire nitro r9 fury oc and an i5 6500 with the intel included fan. Will the 2 fans that come with the s340 elite be enough to not let my temps go through the roof (im not planning on overclocking). Or should i just move one fan of the 2 fans to the front intake instead?
-
Will the sapphire tri x r9 fury fit in the s340 elite case?
-
Ok, i could return a S340 White for no additional costs and buy a S340 white Elite for like 100 NOK more. I want to hear your thoughts ^^ I kinda really want to do it but idk man just lemme know what you guys would do

Hi all, long time admirer, first time poster here. Have a build inside my NZXT S340 (i5-7600k OC 5GHz, MSI Z270 Tomahawk, CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Red LED, MSI GTX 980ti Gaming 6GB, 2 x 8GB Corsair vengeance DDR4 2400MHz RAM, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, 600W PSU) and I’m noticing my CPU temps are getting a bit high (40-50c when idle). I appreciate that the S340 isn’t the best when it comes to airflow, but I’m just wondering if my fan config is helping or hindering the situation. Currently I have 2 140mm Corsair AF fans in the front, 1 120mm Corsair AF Fan on the top and one on the rear (both exhausting). After doing some reading I can see that this is leading to positive air pressure rather than negative, potentially leading to the higher temps. I’m tempted to switch one of the 140mm fans for the top 120mm in an attempt to rebalance the air pressure but I don’t know which one of the two front fans to switch (top or bottom). Also, I have a couple of the 140mm SP fans as well and I was thinking of putting that up top to exhaust as with the higher pressure output of that fan it might help to rebalance the pressure? All help and advice is greatly appreciated!

I am planning to change my current NZXT h440 razer edition case(Don't like its look) to NZXT s340 elite(Matte Black). Can you recommend a good cooling system for overlocking my 5960x in s340 elite? Is the Nzxt Kraken x62 a good choice?

Hi, so I've recently been wanting to get more out of my PC once again and now I'm looking into the possibility of a dual-tower air cooler, at least something with more than four heatpipes, no offense to my current Arctic Freezer 33 eSports One. Specifically, I've been looking at these coolers: Cryorig R1 Ultimate Cryorig R1 Universal be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi DeepCool Neptwin The thing is, I have no idea if half of these even fit inside an NZXT S340. I know that the H7 Quad Lumi fits inside because I've seen Bitwit (I think) use a H7 Quad Lumi inside an NZXT S340 with no issues. If anyone has any experience with any of these coolers and even better inside an NZXT S340, please let me know if a) they fit, and b) how good they are inside the case. I'm quite fond of the R1 coolers (not sure whether Ultimate or Universal yet) and the H7 Quad Lumi.

Hewwo! I'd recently come down with an issue on my Razer NZXT H440, where the power button stopped working. I'd lost all hope, as my warranty had run out. Now, there is no real fix for this, but NZXT, if contacted, will supply a free power button for you, if you are having this issue. I hope this helps

Hey guys, this is my first ever PC build https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/9BcwD2 and I have chosen the NZXT s340 case to house my first build. Is this case still a good option and has good air flow, or does it fall short in that? Also, I don't really know which colour to buy, maybe Black and Red combination would be good as that suits my colour scheme (if there is any lol). Or maybe should I go with the Cooler Master MB500? Thanks
