A new build with classic components from MSI, Noctua and NZXT featuring the MSI P45 Platinum with a Q9550S paired with top-of-the-line 4GB 1150MHz DDR2 Reapers and the MSI GTX 465 Golden Edition, in an NZXT S340 Elite with Noctua fans. I decided it was time for a Copper/Brown/White theme and so I put some old hardware to use, including the beautiful P45 Platinum which I pulled from a scrap bin. This is the spiritual successor my original 3-Way SLI GTX 465 rig, but now focused on the ultimate GTX 465 Golden Edition from MSI. This card retains its original firmware and is still a GTX 465, not a GTX 470. Full specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S MSI P45 Platinum (saved from scrap) OCZ Reaper DDR2 1150MHz MSI GTX 465 Golden Edition 1GB Fermi (not flashed) NZXT S340 Elite EVGA 750 G2 80+ Gold Samsung 850 Evo 120GB Cooler Master Seidon 240M (it has LGA775 support) Noctua NF-S12 fans Windows 10 Pro This intention of this build was to relive the GTX 465 experience in 2022 and play old titles that have been sitting in my library forever, such as Far Cry 1 and 2, Just Cause and other classics. It's admittedly tough going back to a 1GB Fermi card after so many years of using my R9 290, R9 380 underwater and an RX 480 in Chile. I hope this quick build log tickles the fancy of the longtime supporters of the original 3-Way SLI rig, namely, @TheSLSAMG@xTrekStorex @vinyldash303 @JoshM@flibberdipper and others whose names have changed since 2014.

Hello there, TL;DR: I have the NZXT S340 non-Elite. If I place two Corsair ML140 Pro LED White fans in the back, do I need any front intake fans? Will the negative pressure suck in extra dust? Right now I have an NZXT S340 (non-Elite) with two stock fans in the back, and two Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition White LED fans in the front. However, one of the stock fans sounds like a chainsaw sometimes. Also, the LED fans in the front are only 3 pins, meaning for my current setup they either run at full speed, or barely give off any light, since speed and brightness are controlled by the same pin... or something. In short, I need some new fans. I watched this video from Dawid Does Tech Stuff, in which he states front intakes are not really necessary for the S340, since the front is quite restricted. I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 (not OC'ed) with a Hyper 212 Black Edition and a Radeon RX 5600XT. So temperature-wise the case is not much of a problem for me. However, only having two fans in the back might create negative pressure inside my case, as per this Techquicky. So would it be a problem installing only two fans in the back? I don't wanna suck more dust into my case than necessary. The case does have a magnetic dust filter in the front, which has worked very well over the past 5 or so years. Since I still want white LED's (or RGB, but I'd probably put them only on white or blue anyway) I settled on the Corsair ML140 Pro LED fans. They are the same price as the ML120's in my area, and I thought 2x140 might be better than 2x120 to compensate for a lack of front intake fans. Also, I'd prefer somewhat quiet fans if that's possible. What do you guys think? Also, if you have any suggestions for other fans, please let me know. Thank you :)

I recently purchased the Sennheiser pc37x. The audio quality on these is great however I've run into an issue with using the microphone. When plugging the microphone through the front IO of my NZXT s340 case there's this horrible screeching sound. I've tried playing around around with settings and I've double checked that the front panel connectors are correctly fastened to my motherboard but nothing has helped. However, when I plug the microphone at the back of the case I experience no issues. Normally I use this headset only when gaming with friends and having to reach behind my case every time I want to use my headset has become a bit of a hassle. I'm trying to figure out the next steps I could take to fix this issue and I've come up with the following. I'm open to other suggestions. Solution 1: Getting a DAC with microphone and headphone inputs. The thinking here is I'd have a box on my desk where I could easily plug/unplug my headset when needed. Solution 2: Upgrade my pc case Ideally I would like to keep keep the same style of case I currently have. White case with a clear side panel. Looking at a case like the NZXT 510 I'm seeing that there's a single "Headset audio Jack". Does this type of port allow for both the use of the microphone and headphones of my headset granted I'm using the right cable? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated along with alternat solutions that I might be overlooking. Thanks,

Hi all, long time admirer, first time poster here. Have a build inside my NZXT S340 (i5-7600k OC 5GHz, MSI Z270 Tomahawk, CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Red LED, MSI GTX 980ti Gaming 6GB, 2 x 8GB Corsair vengeance DDR4 2400MHz RAM, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, 600W PSU) and I’m noticing my CPU temps are getting a bit high (40-50c when idle). I appreciate that the S340 isn’t the best when it comes to airflow, but I’m just wondering if my fan config is helping or hindering the situation. Currently I have 2 140mm Corsair AF fans in the front, 1 120mm Corsair AF Fan on the top and one on the rear (both exhausting). After doing some reading I can see that this is leading to positive air pressure rather than negative, potentially leading to the higher temps. I’m tempted to switch one of the 140mm fans for the top 120mm in an attempt to rebalance the air pressure but I don’t know which one of the two front fans to switch (top or bottom). Also, I have a couple of the 140mm SP fans as well and I was thinking of putting that up top to exhaust as with the higher pressure output of that fan it might help to rebalance the pressure? All help and advice is greatly appreciated!

I am planning to change my current NZXT h440 razer edition case(Don't like its look) to NZXT s340 elite(Matte Black). Can you recommend a good cooling system for overlocking my 5960x in s340 elite? Is the Nzxt Kraken x62 a good choice?

Hi, so I've recently been wanting to get more out of my PC once again and now I'm looking into the possibility of a dual-tower air cooler, at least something with more than four heatpipes, no offense to my current Arctic Freezer 33 eSports One. Specifically, I've been looking at these coolers: Cryorig R1 Ultimate Cryorig R1 Universal be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Cryorig H7 Quad Lumi DeepCool Neptwin The thing is, I have no idea if half of these even fit inside an NZXT S340. I know that the H7 Quad Lumi fits inside because I've seen Bitwit (I think) use a H7 Quad Lumi inside an NZXT S340 with no issues. If anyone has any experience with any of these coolers and even better inside an NZXT S340, please let me know if a) they fit, and b) how good they are inside the case. I'm quite fond of the R1 coolers (not sure whether Ultimate or Universal yet) and the H7 Quad Lumi.

Hewwo! I'd recently come down with an issue on my Razer NZXT H440, where the power button stopped working. I'd lost all hope, as my warranty had run out. Now, there is no real fix for this, but NZXT, if contacted, will supply a free power button for you, if you are having this issue. I hope this helps

Hey guys, this is my first ever PC build https://in.pcpartpicker.com/list/9BcwD2 and I have chosen the NZXT s340 case to house my first build. Is this case still a good option and has good air flow, or does it fall short in that? Also, I don't really know which colour to buy, maybe Black and Red combination would be good as that suits my colour scheme (if there is any lol). Or maybe should I go with the Cooler Master MB500? Thanks

excuse me, do you know how to maximize airflow on S340 elite? I know this case has a bad airflow, but I am very interested in this case, I have a plan to install 2x14cm PWM fan from Noctua for intake and for the rear and top fan, what size is suitable for a good airflow? I am still confused to choose whether airflow, air balance, or air pressure fan. My plan will be to use a fan from the cooler master because it can sync via the Asus Aura sync. Is it enough to make s340 elite better? Thank you and sorry for my bad english (i'm still practicing, lol)

Hello! Im thinking of buying an NZXT S340, can you guys hit me up with some of your NZXT S340 builds and whether you guys like it or not, if not just send the pictures, thanks!

So I have the LE Grand Macho RT air cooler in a NZXT S340 case. I want to improve the air flow and cooling by replacing the stock fans inside the case and by adding some fans in the front. Should I get fans from Noctua or Cooler Master. Also I do not care about the noise or anything so any will do if you could link me some or tell me which would be fastest. My CPU is a i7 8700k on a ASRock Taichi MotherBoard

My S340 elite fans are definitely not like a jet engine but are very audible even at idle, I have 2 Coolermaster fans in the front and I can't hear them at all. is there any way of making them quieter without replacing them. (bios and cam didn't work)

Heya i was looking for upgrading my case from a really nasty h440 razer edition. So what are the core differences between the S340 Elite and the H700 (Non i) Should i pick up the H700 for 50 euro more or should i get the s340 elite. Is the H700 worth the price difference?

Im building a new PC next month and the only issue I have is what fans should be intake and what fans should be exhaust. I've never been good at it. My build will be in an NZXT S340, has an AIO CPU Cooler (Deepcool Captain 240EX White) which im putting in the front, and it also has an EVGA 1080 Hybrid so its also AIO which im putting in the back. The top is the only place for a regular fan. Does fan configuration matter if theyre both AIO and if so what should all the fans be? I was thinking the CPU rad in the front would both be intake and the GPU rad and regular fan would be exhaust.

This is my first time building a pc and I have some questions. 1) is there anything I should change or add to my part list. 2) can I overclock my 2400g to 3.9 ghz and igpu to 1600mhz with the stock wraith spire cooler? If not what is a cooler I can use to do that. here is my pc part picker link of my components: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bradish06/saved/PhCNNG Thanks in advance

Hi there! For the last month or so, I have been looking to complete my Hyper Beast set up. I already got the mousepad and mouse, and as far as I know, the case is all else I need (that is produced officially of course). The 2 cases here are beautiful, and I would like to get my hands on one of these. But they are so rare, I can't find any being sold new. If anyone has one BNIB for sale or seen this for sale (do include the link), please send the help my way. Thanks.

Hey guys so I'm in a bit of a situation here... The cleaning lady decided to use wood cleaner to clean my NZXT S340 even though I clearly said not to touch or clean my stuff. Anyways, now I need help! I need to clean off the wood cleaner from my case as there are now stains all over it. I have attached some pictures of the streaking/ stains, and the right side panel looks the worst. There may be some microscratches but I'm more worried about those wood cleaner stains right now. I already tried water, but I don't know what to do now. Please help!

I'm about to have an X62 Kraken (2x140mm) mounted at the front of my new s340 elite! However, I'm worried about the radiator significantly affecting the inflow, to the point where the case is no longer pressure-positive. My house is a bit old and dust-prone, and I don't want dust leaking in through the cracks. The case is too small for a push-pull configuration. My outflow is (2x120mm). Is all hope lost? Or do you think I might be okay if I adjust my fan speeds a little?

Currently have a NZXT S340 and as much as I love the case I find it really small/cramed inside and hard to work on when I have to move stuff around. What case under $100 do you recommend that had a good mixture between inside space while not looking way to empty inside or flashy from the outside. tempered glass/dust screens would be nice. i7-4790 Corsair H100i v2 MSI Z97-GD65 EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SSC EVGA 500 BQ NZXT S340 Thanks

I recently got a s340 from nzxt and left the stock fans in there and they seem to be quite loud. even when I fan control them at Idle they sound like a low hum or the guy sitting next to you is playing there music to really loud though there ear buds. Should I get new fans like corsair master fans or just but on headphones. PCpartpickerlist https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZDszMZ 4690k @4.5 Ghz

So since I've installed my Kraken X62 in S340 Elite on the front intake, I started to see more and more dust inside my case. I've seen Jayz's video about using incense and checking for negative airflow. Turns out I've got a negative pressure! (what a surprise...) My current airflow set up is this: Currently the front dust filter and push config limit my intake while exhaust fans are unobstructed an pump out a lot of air. This creates negative pressure unless I ramp up front intake fans to 95-100% even with exhaust fans on very low RPMs. I was thinking of buying dust filters for top & rear and completely reversing the airflow (without the front dust filter then ofc) - just like this: I can't add 1 or 2 more fans to make push-pull because of the cable management bracket (I've already had to remove it once). Nor I can use a 140mm to 120mm converter on the bottom of the radiator because of my 1060 Strix which is long af. Also I've read that it wouldn't help with my negative pressure as it would just push same air that is being delivered by intake but with more pressure (could help the GPU tho). So then, would reversing the airflow hurt? I'm mostly concerned about GPU, but seeing that it doesn't get much air from intake it shouldn't be hurt. Or maybe you have some other ideas?
