Hi i've recently changed mobo to B550 Plus Tuf gaming and i was surprised how cpu fan was quiet compared to old board. Now I know that it's issue. I can't play normaly and OC CPU. In Ryzen Master it shows very high temp but in BIOS and Asus AI Suite 3 it only shows 11c degrees. I don't know what's the problem. Can you help me to fix it? How should i approach it. Is the motherboard damaged?

A few days ago, I changed the cooler on my ryzen 5 5600x from the stock cooler to a deepcool AK620. Upon starting up my pc my clockspeed went from stock (i never oc'd), to being capped at 0.52 max at 100% utilization. The temps are completely fine in every app i check, no higher than 30 degreee. Side note, HW Monitor says the same thing and the pc infact feels like its running at half a ghz. Ive messed with bios settings, tried to enable, pbo, cmos reset a few times, nothing. So im really not sure why im having these problems and I was hoping I could find some help. Thanks.

Hello there, Last year I have build my PC, unfortunately I got a faulty motherboard which is why I repasted useing Thermalgrizzly Aeronaut. When I recently Torture tested my CPU useing Prime95 I found my CPU hitting 90°C after only a few minutes. I know the 5800X isn´t a cool chip by a long shot, but i just expected a 360mm AIO to do better (All Fans and Pump were set to silent). I have since then tightened the Thumbscrews for the Pump as I wasn´t sure whether I had done it properly before. I don´t really know what to do or even if these are abnormal tepms (probaly tho right?) which is why i came to ask here. Thanks for your Replys! Hi guys. Recently I’ve built a pc with this configuration: Asus Prime b450-plus AMD Ryzen 5 3400g G.SKILL TridentZ 16GB 3200MHz ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 256GB Cooler Master Masterwatt 750W Semi-Gold For a few days, I’ve been working on CPU and iGPU overclocking and pushed the gpu to 1700MHz and saw some weird green rectangles in games and very high temps. So I decided to buy a better cooler. I bought Deepcool gammaxx gt. I installed it and disabled cpu core performance in BIOS to reduce cpu core voltage. Since then, I’ve been hearing a coil whine in graphics demanding things like games and web scrolling using my Vega 11 integrated gpu which is measured 45 decibel at it’s peak and it’s coming from Heatsink’s base (CPU HS). I tried enabling core performance boost and it didn’t help. I also tried changing iGPU frequency and it didn’t help either. Since I have my pc next to my bed and I leave my pc rendering at nights, acoustics matter a lot to me and I’m thinking of changing the noisy part. My question is: 1. Can an integrated graphics cause coil whine? 2. Since it’s not coming from VRM or SoC voltage controllers, can it still come from beneath the cpu and socket and be a MOBO issue? 3. Can it be caused by the MOBO being bent because of the weight of my new cooler which is a lot heavier than the stock one? 4. Finally, which part do I have to change?

I recently bought some new RAM and want to utilize it to the fullest by enabling XMP. Below are my PC components. CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x Motherboard: ASRock B450 Steel Legend Bios version 4.6 (Most up to date bios that isn't in Beta) GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4070 12GB RAM: 2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz 18cl installed on slot 2 and 4 as the manual for my motherboard advises When RAM speed in the Bios is set to auto, it is at 2133MHz. This is way too slow, and is causing my system to bottleneck on some games. I'd like to be able to use my RAM at it's rated speed of 3600MHz, however, whenever I try to increase the speed by enabling XMP, my games are unplayable. When XMP is enabled, my PC starts up normally, and is able to boot up windows and other applications like Discord just fine. However, as soon as I start up a game, it either crashes my PC or if the game does start, it stutters and freezes so badly that it is literally unplayable. When I go into Bios and revert back to auto and 2133MHz, I can start up any game and play just fine. I have tried an older Bios version to see if maybe this one is just unstable, version 3.7 did not work either. I have also tried different RAM speeds, 3000, 3066, 3200MHz all have the same effect of not being able to properly run games. Stock voltage is 1.35V. I also added and subtracted .05V to the voltage and nothing improves. I tried 1.30, 1.40, and 1.45V. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong or if there is something else that I can try. I have read forums on other sites with people that have this exact motherboard where people say all they had to do was update to the latest bios version and they were able to run their RAM at 3200 or 3600MHz without issue. I am not having the same luck. GPU is up to date on drivers as well.

Hello, I just upgraded from a 2600x to a 5800x Amd Ryzen Cpu. I seem to hit 90 degree quite quick when playing regular games and it going over 80 at 40% load. I have tried to configure the bios a little but with no guidance I am having an issue. The 7800x lowest temp is 34 that I have been able to achieve. at idle anything from 34-40 with the Watt being at 30 - 40 watts. Loading up different games, and even playing the load varies from 30 - 50% giving the temp at 83 degrees. which seems a little to high for me? I know the highest run temp at this cpu is 90 but it still seems so odd. I just got the MSI MAG CoreLiquid 360R V2 water cooler for the CPU because I got the new cpu yesterday when writing this. The 360R V2 gives me a top temps at 43 with the 2600x with a load of 100%. and lowest temps at 23 degree. I hope you guys understand my "consern" Is there anyone with bios settings that I could "copy"? Greentings! i have an XFX rx 580 and recently when i play games as soon as the card reaches 82-83 degrees, the pc black screens and i have to restart. i undervolted the card by -30% in afterburner and played around with the power curve to the point that the card is stable and i have no problem putting the fans on 70% manually and play for hours. but at auto fan curve, the card reaches 80c and in terms of seconds, the pc black screens. i fairly cleaned the card since it was a mining unit and re-paste it with CoolerMaster Mastergel Pro v2 but i noticed that the thermal pads on vrm and vram are also dusty (it’s not crusty it’s just dusty) could it be that the pads are bad ? the idle temps are 50-55c (at 55 the 0db mode turns off until the card reaches 49-50 again) which is high in my opinion even for an xfx card could it be that i need to repaste the card ? Pc specs: ryzen 3 3300x at 3.9 ghz via ryzen master 16 gig 3400mhz 450 watts 80p bronze ( i know the psu is a little weak for this config ) i want to know that if my card is healthy and my problems are caused by a weak psu/bad paste application since i only have budget to replace either my gpu or psu I hope my card is ok because i play for hours and hours without any weird stuff on background when i set my fan curve at 70-80% manually But as soon as i let it ramp up automatically, it reaches 81-83c in AAA /Heavy FPS titles and blackscreen And i’m in desperate need for help !

Budget (including currency): 1000 USD Maximum Country: Norway Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Easier lighter games like Minecraft, League of Legends or Timberborn. General use for school and as a Daily Driver Other details: Some parts have already been bought, list below; - PSU: Corsair RM850e 80+ Gold - Case: Fractal Design Define Mini C (mATX or mITX) - Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (single stick) Remaining parts are still needed, but for now my thoughts are: - CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x - Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 - chromax black - Mobo: MSI PRO B550M-P GEN3 Micro ATX AM4 Realized writing this that I've forgotten entirely about storage. But it'll likely be either a Western Digital or a Samsung. I personally don't currently have a need for fast storage, so I'll look more into storage/dollar when I actually end up buying the remaining parts. GPU also is not currently on my mind, as I likely wont really be playing any video games until next year, at the earliest. So I'll look more into that when that becomes relevant. Hello, I'm a newbie to messing about with hardware, but I want to build a server and put Unraid on it. A second hand shop in my town has a Ryzen 5 4500 for £55 which seems a pretty good price for a hex core processor. I want a reasonably powerful processor as I will be using the virtualisation function of Unraid. However, that particular chip doesn't provide onboard graphics and I'm not planning to put a graphics card in my server box. Would that chip be useable, and would I be able to use the web interface to access the server without a graphics processor?

Hi all I hope you had a nice day today, I wanted to ask your opinion on an upgrade that I was considering recently. As for a little background, I had this build (link) for over a year and it's been a pretty decent experience with it. As you might recall, however, by the time I built this PC, the GPU prices were EXTREMELY high and therefore I went with a 3060, which costed me about 380-400€. But, since the new RTX40 series made their place in the market, I am wondering how effective it'd be for me to upgrade my RTX3060 which honestly is not used that much anyway... I'm definitely going to sell my GPU if I decide to upgrade, which I'm thinking I can sell it for about 250-300€ range, so that gives me an additional boost to afford maybe something like the RTX4060? And lastly, I'd be doing this change most likely after Christmas, but before that I wanted to hear your ideas about the upgrade, as this is my first ever build. Thank you very much!

Hi everyone, Since installing my new 5600X3D as a drop-in replacement in my system for an old 3600, I've been working to troubleshoot random reboots, most often occurring some time after waking from sleep. I've gone through a crazy amount of troubleshooting steps to remedy the issue and have finally resorted to filing an RMA through AMD. That being said, I wanted to post for a few reasons: First, to get an idea of how many others with the 5600X3D or the 5000 series Ryzen CPUs are experiencing this issue; second, to see if anyone has any last resort steps I can take before sending my CPU back; and third, to help anyone else who might find this post with the same issue. My system specs: Ryzen 5600X3D (the Micro Center exclusive chip released this summer). Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro Wifi Rev 1.0 (ITX Board) I've replaced this with a Gigabyte B550 board to try and fix this issue. Now knowing that the old board was fine, I'll likely sell it on the used market. EVGA XC Ultra 2070 Super 32 GB Corsair 3600Mhz 18-22-22-42 low profile memory Corsair SF600M PSU Replaced with Corsair SF750M also to try to fix this issue. I will be keeping this PSU since more power overhead may come in handy with a GPU upgrade down the line. Noctua tower cooler Troubleshooting Attempts: So far, I have (with no avail): Reset BIOS to factory defaults [edit: also updated bios and drivers to latest on Gigabyte website] Disabled C-States in BIOS Enabled low-current power supply loading in BIOS (description claims to help prevent crashing at low loads) Tested system memory [edit: forgot to mention also disabled XMP, still crashed :/] Checked CPU temps (all normal) Checked GPU clock and temps (all normal) Re-seated CPU Switched back to 3600 (I CAN'T recreate the issue with the 3600 installed) Replaced motherboard Replaced power supply Reinstalled Windows fresh from scratch Of these steps, reinstalling windows gave me the most hope. After waking from sleep, it seems to be fine for a while, until suddenly, reboot. Much better than before though, when reboot would happen almost instantly. Event Logs Prior to the reboot, I get a slew of Event ID 19 WHEA-Logger errors: "A corrected hardware error has occurred. Reported by component: Processor Core Error Source: Corrected Machine Check Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error Processor APIC ID: 0" They're spread out by minutes prior to the reboot, so I'm not sure if they're connected to the problem. I'm not familiar with what this warning means. What is connected to the problem, however is this: Immediately before the critical event is one information event, Kernal Power 125 (86), "ACPI thermal zone \_TZ.UAD0 has been enumerated. _PSV = 290K ... _CRT = 294K _HOT = 293K minimum throttle = 0 _CR3 = 0K" The event viewer log shows a Critical event at the time of reboot: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." Kernal-Power, Event ID 41, Task Category (63) Immediately after critical event is another information: "Connectivity state in standby: Disconnected, Reason: NIC compliance" Kernal-Power 172 (203) So, with the steps above not fixing my problem and knowing that the 3600 works totally fine, today I submitted an RMA request through AMD. If anyone has other advice before I send away my CPU, please feel free to comment below! I can also answer any more questions if I haven't addressed it above. Or, if you've had the same problem, let me know! I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this was a known issue on Gigabyte motherboards or with the single batch of CPU's AMD made under this sku. -Chocymilk

Budget (including currency): 600€ Country: Croatia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Baldurs Gate 3,Monster Hunter Rise, New Space Marine Game, TFT, Apex Other details : Current build is Ryzen 5 1600, MSI gtx 1060 6gb, and 16gb of ram, Msi b350 tomahawk mb. The build is 6 years old now and I got a new 1440p monitor so Im looking for some upgrades. Long story short most reviews Ive seen online recommend RX 6700XT plus Ryzen 5600/x. I cant find out if the motherboard can support the newer GPU, also I've found a rx 6800 for 340€ but its preowned, so I need some help and tips regarding the upgrades: 1. Do I need to buy a new motherboard something like a B550 or I can wait a month and not bottleneck to much. 2. Is it worth to buy a used 6800 over a 6700xt if the price diff is around 40€. 3. My goal is playing games at 1440p at 60+ fps at higher quality, so will get upgrades achive that. Thank you for any help in advance I havent been around the Pc Build community for few years now so I appreciate any help.

For some context before I explain what's happening, here's the specs of the PC, - Ryzen 5 5600 - Gigabyte Aorus b550m pro-p (bios rev f15a) - 16gb 3200mhz G skill aegis - ROG Strix 6700xt - Super Flower Leadex III argb 650W Gold - win 11 education edition 64 bit (was free back when I was in school) - WD black sn750 500gb - Samsung 970 pro Evo 500gb I've included the model of the PSU as I think it's possibly causing the issue. It was bought in mid 2021 whereas everything else was bought in mid 2022. To keep things short, - It turns on, but doesn't post - fans spin, however no lights on the motherboard or anything connected to the motherboard (psu has its own RGB) - I've tried rearranging the cables plugged into the PSU and it powered on once, prompting me to reset my fTPM (which possibly leads me to believe it's a CPU issue) but not again. - issue persists when I remove the CPU power cable - I've had the motherboard replaced recently as I thought that it was the issue, however, behaviour has been the same pre and post repair - when turning the power supply on at the switch, the LEDs on my CPU block and pump/res light up for a split second. The two things I can think that might've caused a possible issue is that; For a few months, I was running ~1.3V for a 4.6ghz OC on the CPU but I toned it down to stock after a bsod one day. I can't remember the error message since it's been a while. Didn't have any more until leading up to the issue. Secondly, I went on holiday for roughly a month and accidentally left the PC running Minecraft (not doing anything, game was just open) whilst I was away. I'll include a vid of what I'm trying to describe is happening. Vid can be found here. Let me know if there's any other info I should be including. Thanks in advance, Max

Awhile back I bought my GPU and CPU; The CPU being the Ryzen 3 3200g. I didn't have money for the rest of my parts (The reason I ordered those 2 was cause I thought the GPU would work with my current and future board and I thought I could order a motherboard too but something came up). I plan on getting an MSI B450-M Tomahawk MAX as I hear its great, Ryzen 3000 ready and if I needed for whatever reason I could flash bios without a chip. Anyways, I was looking for RAM to pair with this Motherboard and CPU. I do plan on upgrading to a Ryzen 5 3600 whenever I can. TLDR; What RAM works best with my current CPU and potentially my future one? I don't really care about RGB (though I don't mind it) and what clock speeds will I benefit from most? Will 3600 ram sticks be worth the extra money compared to 3200 ones?

I replaced my old Asus Z10PE-D8 WS board with 2 Xeon e5-2690 v3's, 4x8GB DDR4 2133 CL15 ECC udimms, and vega 64 Graphics card. With an Asus Pro WS X570 Ace, Ryzen 9 5900x, 2x16gb DDR4 4000MHz non-ecc udimms, and a 6950XT. I've had an unbelievable amount of problems, If anyone can help me, I greatly appreciate it. Day 1: Mostly spending time putting things together, my PC ends up only being able to get to the pre-bios screen (where it says "press DEL or F2 to enter the bios") I can't enter it, but I can press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart, I used a friend's spare 3600XT and load a new bios onto a flash drive, this fixes it. I try loading into windows, frequent Random Hard Reboots and BSODs (with visual artifacts) "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR". I take it to be a GPU Driver issue. Day 2: I spend several hours trying to install new GPU drivers, almost all with the result of my PC encountering the same problems as the day before, before the installation could complete. At some point my SSD's detection by windows and my motherboard's bios becomes intermittent, and only on certain boots (hot or cold didn't make that much of a difference, it seemed more random) I figure it's an issue with my windows version because of how much newer my hardware has become with only a single upgrade. So I decide to back up my data and format my SSD (I would have done an in-place, but my system was too unstable for that). I couldn't install windows, I would get mountains of errors, I was so desperate I contacted microsoft support, who did a good job helping me. (The fix was downloading chipset/sata drivers onto another flash drive and having it plugged in during the setup, if you're interested). The system would crash during CDM or any significant driver updates. I Figured that the SSD was toast. (even though it was working just fine 2 days ago) Day 3 (today as of writing this): I went to micro center to get a new SSD, I tried installing windows via boot media, seemed more stable from the start. (I got my hopes up). Granted the machine with the new windows install IS more stable, I was able to install windows updates, gpu drivers, and chipset drivers fairly easily. No more BSOD's, and random reboots can occur up to 30 minutes after booting instead of 0.5-5 minutes (I even made this post on the machine, even if it did shut off a few times while I was doing it). Trying any other actions regarding updating gpu or chipset drivers, windows update, or large file transfers will cause a hard reboot. In-place upgrade windows doesn't work, and all audio (whether from the GPU through my monitor speakers, or my logitech G435 USB headset) sounds like someone is holding down the pause button (you know how you can hold space on a youtube video and it rapidly pauses and unpauses. All sound sounds like it's been ran through a filter to produce that effect, it is unusable). I'll probably run Memtest86 tomorrow just to rule out RAM. I'll also contact Asus to see if my board is still under warranty, I got it in late 2020, but it's been sitting on a shelf until I started my upgrade. Additional Info: I'm pretty sure it's not a GPU issue, the artifacting has gone away with the driver updates. NOTE: I can't reply too much as I'll be going to bed within an hour, but I'll try to. I'll be back tomorrow and the day after.

Hello, I am a huge Minecrafter, basically I play everything as long as it's in Minecraft, from Murder Mystery to Bedwars, and I am also a speedrunner, which involves running several instances of the game. Recently, I upgraded my system to the Ryzen 9 5950X, as most top Minecraft speedrunners use either the 5900X or the 5950X. The speedrunning experience isn't bad at all, but when I play 1.8 for games like Bedwars, the performance is unsteady and honestly quite bad. It's very playable but I'd expect more out of such a beefy CPU. I noticed the core Minecraft was running on wasn't running at its full potential. The core clock is often pretty low and unstable. So basically I'd like to fix that by forcing that core to run at full speed, over 4.5GHz, constantly. But I have no idea how to do that, I tried to do an all core manual overclock in Ryzen master and in my BIOS, both of which were unstable above 4 GHz. Here are my PC specs: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 (extremely beefy VRMs) AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 4x8GB 3000MHz G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4 Asus Dual GeForce RTX 2060S 8GB As a cooler I'm using the Cooler Master ML360R RGB which I know isn't great, I might end up replacing it with a beefy air cooler such as the Dark Rock Pro 4, I'll see. But for now I just want a stable about 1000/500 (because I use OptiFine) FPS, so I can use motion blur and have it be butter smooth, and I know it's possible with my current configuration, it's not like my rig lacks power! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I am looking to purchase a new CPU, from the Ryzen 5 2600 for about £120 (USD$150 ish). I am stuck between the Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 5 5600, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 7 3800X. Would going with Ryzen 3000 be a deal breaker for bang for buck compared to 5000? Which CPU should I go for? Thanks,
