Hi, I currently have an i5-4690k based system that I put a 1070ti into. I'd like to build a new system and throw my 1070ti in it. I do some light gaming and CAD work on Inventor. I won't be buying soon so Ryzen 3000 is an option. Which CPU would be the best? I want it to be somewhat future proof so would going with a 3700x instead of a 3600 or 3600x be worth it? Would a 9700k be better? Let me know, thanks.

Is there a performance difference when using ryzen 3000 on x370 compared to x470 or b450? Should I keep my x370 motherboard?
-
Okay, so i need some questions to be answered here... I just got a R9 3900X and a Asus TUF gaming X570-plus, i had a 16gb ram kit from my 7700K and Z270 (im upgrading the ram to either 32gb corsair vengance or 32gb trident Z, but still want answers on this). The ram is Crucial Ballistix Tactical 3000mhz CL15 ram, on my Z270 Tomahwak arctic and 7700K i could EASILY OC the ram to 3466mhz, it was 100% stable. So why cant i OC to more than 3066mhz without safe mode screens, windows crashes, BIOS bugsETC on the X570? Doesnt Ryzen like OC`ing as much as intel? Is D.O.C.P or whatever it is worse than intel XMP? Or is the Asus X570 board just really bad? Thanks for answers.

Source: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-3000-nvidia-gtx-asus-laptops,38913.html Source 2: Very interesting stuff to say the least. Not just the fact that if we are seeing entries for a mobile Ryzen 3000 chip, release for it (and the desktop variants) should be coming soon. But also, to see a manufacturer like ASUS provide a SKU on their laptops that combines an AMD Processor with an NVIDIA video card is quite surprising. From what I know, only one other like it exists, the ASUS Z570ZD, and it is lacking availability (basically is nonexistent). Hopefully, we see such combinations become the norm with future Ryzen 2 products, to allow the consumer more options and choices, and also with other manufacturers besides ASUS.

When Would Ryzen 3000 release and the supported motherboards also shed some light?

Should I wait for the new ryzen 3000 cpu or should I go with the old ryzen CPUs?

I have a Ryzen 3700x on a MSI Gaming Edge wi-fi with 16GB of ddr4 3000 mhz memory and a Cooler master masterliquid ml240L. When using ryzen master I can get a OC of 4.4 ghz on all cores with 1.3 volt and a max temp of 65C under load. The thing is when i want to go to 4.5ghz the pc crashes and i get different windows blue screen messages, but i do not hit any of the limits on PPT, TDC and EDC. In Ryzen master the max i can get is 4.475 ghz on all cores with EDC on 92%. I am not very experienced in overclocking, but could this be a limit in ryzen master for this specific chip? And if not than what could that be? Note: with the 4.4 ghz I can play all my games but I cannot run a cinebench r20 test. the r20 software will crash after around 5 seconds of starting the test. question 1: is ryzen master limited to advertist boost clock? question 2: can I get higher boost clock on the chip through bios? (not very comfortable changing things in bios yet) question 3: is it common that cinebench crashes on initialization? edit: the questions

So I wanted to ask this specifically because it is common to have power outages where I live and since I know that having that happen could brick the mobo, how recommended is it to update the bios on my brand new board? Should I go out looking for a UPS or should I skip that and game on without worries? Also does qflash plus feature on the gigabyte boards help in unbricking the board should that happen? Thanks!

Hey just a quick post, does anybody know a way to disable sleep states with a B450m Pro4 motherboard? I found good settings to run the the R5 3600 i have faster and cooler (less Volts in applications, about 2-3C cooler after back to back tests) in both single and multi-threaded applications, but when it comes out of sleep states it spikes to 1.5V instead of 1.45V and that bothers me (maybe unnecessarily), all the same i don't see point in running overclock for the mild performance uplift if im spiking CPU that hard with the Moba i have. I looked but could not figure out if there was a related option to help with this, but im new to all this.

Trying to get this to output to my monitor. I have 8gb stick of ram in slot 2. I have tried flashing the BIOS twice. I am plugged into the dvi out on the mobo (I am using a dvi to vga cable). I have also tried my HDMI to DP cable. Neither send a signal to monitor. The EZ LED doesn't keep any of the LEDs on ( flashes cpu, vga, then boot but only shortly). I'm at a loss right now. If I do not get any recommendations soon I'm going to try to re-seat the CPU and try booting again. When flashing the BIOS, the first time was with nothing installed and the second was with everything installed. After the first flash, the boot LED would linger but not anymore. There is no video out whatsoever. Monitor goes into power saving. Hi there... Its holiday season and I have some money to burn on pc. Atm I have b450 tomahawk(not max, upgraded to lates bios). R5 2600 16 gb ram 3400mhz 5700xt Rm 750w corsair psu All packet in nice in win 303 case with some sirius loop rgb case fans. I cant deside what purchase would make more sense couse prices in my counrry funy as always: r5 3600 its 208eu, 3600x 226eu and r7 3700x is 348eu cheapest... I was thinking to pick new r5 and x570 mobo or just r7 and meybe more ram or ssd. With machine I mostly play games and also using photoshop and editing videos. I know for what its clear choice 3700x but dat prices dont make sense to pay 75 % for only 2 extra core. Or is it make it? So what would be beter choice?

PC Specs: Ryzen 7 3700x RTX 2070 Super 2x8gb G.Skill Trident Z neo 3600 cl16 Gigabyte x570 I Aorus pro wifi (itx) Everything was fine when I got it, but once I tried to overclock my ram at all, I would appear to fail to boot multiple times and reset to the default 2133 15-15-15-36 ram speed. It gave me clear cmos errors so I thought it was the battery. I just got a new one and the same thing is happening. After more testing, I found that it isn't just overclocking, but anytime I save the settings in the bios (even with absolutely nothing changed), I would save and exit and it would try and boot for a while and then boot with the default ram settings. But the weird thing about it is that ryzen master is still able to overclock. I just did a quick test with everything on auto and I was able to do an easy 3800 (and probably more) and if I go into the bios, it shows the settings have saved. I feel its likely I have missed something simple which is causing this... I am rather new to overclocking and haven't used gigabyte boards before. Thanks you for any help you can give!

Is there a difference between the normal Trident Z RGB sticks or the new Trident Z Neo sticks? The Neo's claim to be better with Ryzen and im wondering if it makes a difference. Im getting 4x8GB 3600MHz either way and they are close in price and CAS timings. Im just wondering if it actually makes any difference on CPU performance or anything

Just noticed this on PCWorld's video that the chip carrier on Ryzen 3000 does indeed have a spot for another die. Here's hoping for a 16-core CPU.

Summary As was rumored months ago (and talked about on a few status updates today) the A520 Motherboard chipset has just come out. It will support ryzen 3000 (not including Ryzen 3 3200G or Ryzen 5 3400G) and the upcoming processors with the Zen 3 architecture (ryzen 4000). The chipset will not have support for PCIe 4.0, Instead they will have up to 26 PCIe 3.0 lanes. They are going to have more USB 3.2 Gen 2 port than their predecessors. With prices as low as $62, these motherboards will likely be the go to for ultra low-budget builds. Many of them are already available. See the anandtech link for a full list. Quotes My thoughts I hadn't heard that these motherboards were expected to be launched this month, so this was very surprising to me. But it makes sense they would release their new budget boards around this time. I find it weird that they do not support ryzen 3000 apus, but chances are they will be a very popular pairing with the upcoming ryzen 4000 apus. Sources AMD anandtech pcgamer kitguru

Hello everyone So I have a build below, I already have the necessary storage and I'm using my old 1060 6gb. The mobo listed (which I can get for around 150 euros), is a great value and come with great I/O (ps2, usb c on the back, at least 1 gen 2 usb port) and options, and because I want to use my case (which also comes at a good value) with the USB C port, I need an internal usb header, which this mobo has. However I have several problems: I want to use the ryzen 3600 with this mobo, but I can't be certain of how to update the bios if needed. Second I can't find a single x570 mobo with similar I/O and options as this particular mobo for this price. If I'm not mistaken none of the b450 mobo's come with a type c header. For some reason I find myself looking at Intel mobo's, because here they are cheaper than AMD mobo's and with lots ore I/O options. Why AMD? Because 3600 . I mean is there even that big of a difference between 470 and 570? Or just wait and see what b550 has to offer?(if it even comes out) In short I would like to be able to use all the options of the ryzen 3600 and the NZXT case. I wish for a mobo's that gives me all these possibilities at less than 180 euros. Thanks for your help. Would this system even be fully functional?
Polysaccharide posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Hey, so I might be weird, but would this literally over the top (OTT) System even be fully functional? If not, what would I have to change/remove to make this fully functional? Here is the PCPartpicker link: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/Polysaccaride/saved/MVsskL again. This parts list isn't supposed to be logical in any way at all, just a completely over the top system where I need your help to make fully functional in case that is not the case. -
Hi all, I'm in italy looking for a sub-200€ 2x8g Ram kit for a ryzen 3000 (3600x/3700x) since the most popular (ie: cheaper?) kits are 3600c16 and 3200c14 I made a chart to track their price: (I mainly shop from Amazon.it and https://www.bpm-power.com/it (the latter has usually 10-30€ cheaper prices to AMZ but it doesn't track on PPP, so I saved you the hassle by doing this chart) online I read people suggesting buying a 3800-4000 ram and lower the frequency to gain a better timing (AFAIK: 200MHz = 1c is that correct?) but I'm afraid that on higher frequency, especially in my price bracket I won't be able to hit it. (even with XMP people complain they can't reach 3200Mhz in some cases!!!) how accurate is the XMP profile for the stick? will I be able to fire and forget into my system or it's a lottery even in this case? (I COULD take advantage of Amazon return policy but... ) is manually tweaking ram as complicated as it seems? ( made a previous post asking for guides, and after watching a lot of them I think it's more like a hobby-oriented field than someone who just wants the optimal memory for a gaming build with ryzen 3k) ps: they make a big deal about samsung b-die but it's crazy expensive and useless if I'm going for XMP after all
