Hi, I bought the Sapphire Nitro+ RX470 4GB and whenever I install Radeon 16.9.2 or above, suddenly my GPU does 100% usage and I need to downgrade to 16.9.1... Can anybody please help?
-
Which graphics card will perform better the RX470 or the notebook graphic card GTX960M. Is there any comparison between those? I was planning to buy an msi gaming laptop so will it be worth it if it has a 960M??

I know this has been asked already but I am confused. Some reviewers say there's no point in the RX 470 having 8GB of Vram for 1080p gaming as it will not have enough power in other areas to ever use 8GB but they also say the RX 470 is not far from RX 480 in a lot of games and could be overclocked to 480 levels. So if that's true then why wouldn't a Sapphire Nitro RX 470 8GB overclocked a little bit make sense? I plan to have this card do me for 1080p for the next 3 years and they are both similar price where I'm buying so I'm wondering why I should buy one over the other. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies

I built my first system last year in December and haven't had any problems until now. I know it could be the psu messing up (it's an 80+ white) so don't suggest trying a different system I'm building a new one in a few days I'll try it when I can. In the mean time I'd like to see if I can fix it since I've been planning on using most of this build for my sister's birthday present. Specs: i3-6100 3.7GHz with stock cooler ROG STRIX RX 470 4gb with stock OC Ripjaws V 8gb DDR4 2400 (timing 15-15-15-35) (Model F4-2400C15S-8GVR) EVGA 430WATT 80+W (100-W1-0430-KR) Gigabyte H170 micro ATX (GA-H170M-D3H) Running raid0 with 3 HDD to save money will list specs if needed. Also have 2 120mm fans blowing in from the front and one 120mm exhaust put the back if that helps. What exactly happened? I updated everything latest windows update, latest game updates, newest drivers, Radeon ver. 17.8.2 and ASUS GPUTweak ver. 1.4.5.2 with 0db off. On a fresh reboot I started playing Destiny 2 (the only real updates are the Radeon version and the game itself) after playing for about an hour the screen went black. I leave it and after seeing the gpu fans off try onboard graphics to no avail (idk if switching mid game would even work or not but figured worth a shot) and finally hold the power button to kill it and let it rest to cool off a bit. Once I turned it back on they still didn't work so I checked and turned off 0db and rebooted that seemed to fix it. Then again today same thing happens it's working fine till it's been under load for awhile and the fans quit and went black mid game (same game) and now the fans are fine after a reboot. Any suggestions or known issues with the latest updates or maybe it's somehow Destiny 2s fault lol probably not but you never know. While waiting on replies I'm going to play something else and see if it happens again just in case.

So I'm a first time builder and I've watched hours of YouTube and just cant get a solid answer to which GPU is better please HELP! I'm mostly gonna be playing open world games like rust and ark but also maybe some PUBG List of parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yYf2hq Thanks in advance My options are RX470 4gb or GTX 1060 3gb don't suggest anything better cause i simply cant afford it. I'll probably be playing at 1080p I have a crappy monitor (no g sync or free sync) but might be getting a better one in the future.

Greetings fellow compatriots of computing technologies. I have in my possession both a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 470 8GB ( http://sapphirenitro.sapphiretech.com/en/470-8.html ) and an EVGA GTX 970 SSC ( https://www.evga.com/Products/Specs/GPU.aspx?pn=D8328514-F9BC-44AA-AE85-D50C9F433297 ). I've recently ordered a new upgrade kit consisting of an Ryzen 1600 and a B350 Asus motherboard. I am not planning on purchasing a new graphics card in a while, So the question is, which graphics card should I use??

Hi, I recently ran a bios mod on my rx 470 4gb from Asus, after installing I got a black screen, even without restarting, then when I restarted, I still had a black screen, long story short, got a pen drive running dos and atiflash on it, ran it with both the igpu and with another dgpu, results were the same, it says no adapter found whenever I use the -i command or try flashing. P.S. card does not have dual bios, I believe I have found the bios chip, but am unsure as to which pins to short for a validation bypass, aswell as how long I'd need to short them for before I can let go.

As of late my fps has dropped compared to what it used to be before. I used to have fps very similar to this video: But recently with the same settings used in this video (which are the same settings I used when I still got high fps) I don't even get a stable 30 fps. Using msi afterburner I saw that the GPU is at 100% at all times during gaming while the processor doesn't go much higher than 45%. I have not overclocked this graphics card. These are the parts I got: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V with bios version 2104 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k OC at 4,5GHz Ram: 2 sticks of 4GB ddr3 Kingston hyperX genesis gray series 1866mhz Graphics card: xfx Rx 470 black edition 4gb Monitor: LG 29UM68-P 2560x1080 Thanks for any help in advance!

I have a DIYPC DIY-TG8-BW Tempered Glass case with ASUS Micro ATX DDR3 2000 AMD AM3+ Motherboard M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard. I have an AMD FX-6300 Processor with a cheap $12 cooler that seems to do a decent job of keeping the CPU cool. I have 16GB of DDR3 RAM(Half of which are G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1600MHz PC3-12800 240-Pin Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM) The other half are crucial generic style RAM and are probably bottlenecking my G.Skill RAM as in my BIOS both sets are running at around 800Mhz) I have a 500W Power Supply(slightly better than generic, Bronze certified) I currently have an XFX RX460 Double Dissipation 4GB card. I'm trying to figure out the best route to take for upgrading my system periodically.(meaning not a complete replacement of all my components at once) I think my first mistake was buying a micro-atx motherboard, as now I'm limited with my options. I know at some point I'd like to upgrade my CPU cooler to a Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED Turbo(or one of the other options available) or a Noctua cooler(although I HATE the retro color scheme of Noctua's coolers) I also know I want to upgrade the other half of my RAM to match the G.Skill RAM. My main question is would it be worth it to replace the motherboard with a full size ATX board with 2 or more PCI Express slots and add an additional XFX RX460 or would it be better to just upgrade my 460 to a 470 or 480 or another AMD card? I've heard many people mention that an RX460 has roughly half the performance of RX470s and RX480s. Would two in Crossfire mode be worth saving the $200 or so extra it would cost to get an RX470 or 480? RX480 and RX470 cards right now are in the $300+ with some as high as $600!(occasional deals can be found on Amazon though for around $268 for a 4GB version) I've had my eye on a R9 380 4GB as well https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-DL-DVI-D-Graphics-11242-13-20G/dp/B016LE95TK/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1506706965&sr=1-3&keywords=r9+290 Would it be better to just save up some money and buy a beast of a card or would it be beneficial having two RX460 cards? I know I can get a replacement motherboard for like $50 or $60 and a XFX RX460 4GB for like $149.99 or so. Which would be cheaper than one RX470, 480 or R9 card. Is CrossFire actually worth it?

Yikes! Another thread on the low-fps train with Minecraft. So yeah, using modpacks of the game, whatever version I'm running, whichever version of Java I've got installed, no matter which driver versions I've got, my performance in modpacks is poor (unplayable poor, 3fps average). I know my pc can handle it, it USED to run them fine. Currently troubleshooting Schematica V4 by Recallgaming. It's got Optifine Ultra D6 installed by default, even updating that to D8 manually didn't help anything. Hell, I'm typing this from a fresh Windows 10 install I just did, and nothing has changed. I'm seeing all the comments on other threads and the usual answers say "Allocate more RAM", "Set affinity and priority", "update Java", "Get optifine", and so the list goes on. But no, all of that had no avail. It seems like the problem lies deeper, maybe somewhere with later forge versions. Fun fact: my rMBP 15" from 2015 with only Iris Pro runs the pack flawlessly at 60FPS, so that's a bit weird eh? Specs: i5 2400 12GB DDR3 RX470 8GB by MSI (yep, the Gaming X card, god I love that card)

Sauce: http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/category/laptops/alienware-laptops?~ck=bt AMD's statement at the time: After announcing that they're having an RX470 in their Alienware 15 and 17 notebooks some months ago (http://www.eteknix.com/alienware-squeezes-rx-470-into-a-laptop/) the notebooks have gone on sale as of today. First up is the Alienware 15. Starting at $1349, it gets you an Intel Core i5-7300HQ quad-core CPU, 8GBs of single-stick single channel RAM and a 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive. Moving up to the Alienware 17 now. $1449 gives you an Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 8GB of single-stick single-channel RAM and a 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive. The RX470 in both of these is the full desktop 2048 stream processor one with 8GB of GDDR5 memory, and if AMD is to be believed with their "full desktop RX470" quote it runs at the same 926/1266 MHz as the desktop cards. Both of these laptops come with a 68 Wh battery, upgradable to a 99 Wh one for $50. One thing they both don't have though is a FreeSync-enabled display. That's a bummer, seeing how the GeForce 10-series editions of the Alienware 15 and 17 do have a GSync display. Interesting devices. The RX470 is no slouch at 1080p, so for the prices given they're actually pretty great notebooks.

I was working on homework with my desktop on with a browser tab open, nothing was actively running on my desktop and it had been idling for a while but all of a sudden, my gpu fans spin up to 100% which is freaking loud. It does so for about 5 seconds then stops. It has then repeated every minute or so with out any load being on the gpu core, I have open harware monitor running showing usage and temps. Nothing out of the ordinary except for the fans. This is really distressing any help would be appreciated, thanks! XFX RX470 RS

Hi guys! just wanted to show off my newest build. I recently started studying so i've had to cut back on luxuries. I sold my watercooled 4690k + r9 290x build a while ago but was getting bored of not having a computer I could play around with, so I started my search to build up a 1080p/60fps computer that'd i'd be able to overclock without living off noodles for the rest of my study life. I live in New Zealand where parts are quite expensive (a GTX1080 is about $200 USD more expensive here than in the US) but I knew from previous experiences I could get a lot of parts shipped over from the US for a lot cheaper than buying here. The amazon used marketplace became my best friend where I picked up my both my GPU and motherboard for 3 TIMES less than i'd pay in New Zealand. Both were used but condition was perfect. Here is a breakdown on all parts used and how much I paid. CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 @4.2 Ghz = $107.00 CPU Cooler: be quiet! PURE ROCK 51.7 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler = $31.00 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard = $59.99 Memory: Kingston FURY 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory = $35.00 Storage: OCZ ARC 100 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive = Free from Previous build Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive = Free from damaged external HDD Video Card: MSI Radeon RX 470 4GB Gaming X Video Card @1376/1737 = $100.00 Power Supply: Raidmax 850W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply = Free from a friends broken PC Case: Corsair Carbide Series 88R Micro ATX Windowed = $60.00 Lighting: RGB lighting from aliexpress = $4.00 Cables & Combs: Aliexpress (WinFmod) = $10.00 Total: $407.00 I decided to go with the i3 6100 as I liked how you could use the older bios to overclock the non k cpu's. I could have searched around for say an i5 4460 which i could probably get near the same price, but I wanted to make my way into the skylake/DDR4 game. I have the i3 OC'd to 4.1 Ghz, and memory at 2666mhz. I plan to go higher on the cpu once I figure out what voltages I feel comfortable with. I wanted to do a mAtx build as I had built both a full ATX and itx build before, which is why I picked the case. it was cheap and is quite good, however cable management is a pain, so I'm having a local sheet metal store fold me up a piece of sheet metal to make into a cable basement. I'll update the thread when I get that done. Would love to hear any suggestions or thoughts on the build! Excuse the terrible pictures as I only have a cheap phone to take them with. Hi all I own the msi rx470 gaming X edition, which has the RGB msi logo on the side. I was wondering if it is all possible to tap into the wiring and run perhaps a few led lights or a small led strip inside the gpu? I am confident with my soldering skills to do this but I don't know much about power draws of LED's etc to just dive straight into it. Picture for reference - my terribly painted RX470

Heya there! I'm having this thing with this GPU that I bought for my girlfriend, (she's a real Rust addict) While playing Rust the video card goes up to 77*C and I think thats too hot considering that my r9 280x only got as high as 75*C In her case(which I gave to her) Are there any ways to lower the temps without buying stuff like cases and coolers? The case has one front intake and one exhaust and its very clear inside, nothing to make the air go crazy. The cooler pulls air just under the video card. As I said, it gets hotter than my 280x and I find find that weird. Are there any programs to lower voltages or do stuff like that? (I have no idea how to) Can any of you rx 470 guys with the same problem tell me a quick solution to lower the temps via software with at least 2-3 degrees? I know I'm not the only with this thing with the RX470. Drivers up to date, Win10 I3 6100,8gb DDR 4,500w psu. Raidmax aura case with airflow mods(chopping it with the metal scissor) Thanks

How capable would this build be? https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ instead of the 1060 i went for the cheaper rx470

This issue just happened just now. I updated to Windows 10 version 1903 yesterday without any hiccups. Today, when I turned on my computer, Windows prompted me to update a certain "Pci driver" (too fast didn't catch that). After restarting, I noticed that my AMD High Definition Audio Drivers were missing. I'm using sound out from my display so this is a big issue for me. Please see the screenshot below. So far what I have done is updating graphics driver (19.5.2 & 19.6.1, already attempted DDU & reinstall). updating chipset driver, updating BIOS & reflashing VBIOS. My spec can be viewed from my signature. Currently I'm using BIOS version F31, updated from F25. Please help me with this issue. Thank you.
