Hi i recently upgraded my gpu and installed my old rx580 in my girlfriends pc. I've been putting my old parts in her desktop to "upgrade" it a bit but the rx 580 is causing some issues. Whenever i launch a game on her pc it ends up shutting down and rebooting, i thought it might be a heat issue but that doesn't seem to be the issue. The system now has a i7 2600 with a 1 fan water cooler keeping it wel below 50 degrees at all times. The rx 580 goes up to about 80 degrees which is perfectly fine. I believe the psu is too weak since its a 450 watt. In theory this should suffice but i think it might be because it's old and worn that it cant keep up with the new gpu. I'd like to know if my theory is right and possible fixes. I know buying a new psu is great and all but that's not in de budget (i know they're like 50 bucks or less but it's just not happening). Could i underclock the rx580 to prevent the reboots? She came from from a gt 730 so even underclocked a rx 580 is a huge upgrade. Please let me know what you think and thanks in advance! Edit: the psu is in image

Hi. I built a new system yesterday. When I turned it on for the first time, everything lit up and the fans spinned correctly, but it gave no signal to the monitor and the white LED that says VGA was on. I tried switching the display port for an hdmi but it didn't work either. This is my specs: Intel Core i5 10600 KF Cooler master Masterliquid 240 V1 MSI MGP Z490 gaming plus Gskill Tridentz RGB 2x8 3600 MHz DDR4 Ram I don't recall the brand, but NVMe m2. 500 gb ssd SATA 3.5" 7200 RPM 2 TB HDD XFX RX 580 8 GB. NZXT H510 Corsair 550W 80 plus bronze The graphics card isn't new, I had it installed in my previous build that I planned on giving away to my brother. Since I had an r7 260x lying around I tried pluggin' it in and the system started with no problem, I even installed windows and have been using it for some hours now with no problem. I put the RX 580 back in the old build and it gave video output right away. I also checked for the MSI board bios date and it salid october 2020. I checked if 550 was enough power on a wattage calculator page and on paper it should be enough. Although I built it myself, this is my first time doing so and I don't know how else to trouble shoot it. I can't just plug the HDMI cord to the IO slot since its a KF chip. Can somebody help me please? The picture of the white led isn't mine, but is the same one I'm getting PD: In the new rig picture I know the RGB looks weird, I had the rgb cables plugged in the wrong way but I already fixed it

What is better the RX 580 4gb or 8gb or the 1650S

Aa I said, I got a RX 580 and it's behaviour is weird because if I set the voltage lower (it easily overheats to 85-89 degrees so I have to undervolt) it just uses more wattage..? If I do set it lower sometimes I do get a higher stable clock speed but if I go into a game it crashes. The lowest value I când set fire 1366 mhz is 1080 sadly... Anything below that and it doesn't work. Right now it's kind of stable but I wanna know if I can do anything to get it lower?.. Kinda everyone on forums etc said that they can get it to 1030 mv or something close to that and well that would be a huge deal for the temps but for some reason the wattage kept rising. The clock wasn't stable in furmark and neither in superposition. I did get it to be stable with +50 power limit but isn't that just bad since I did undervolt it and it still needs extra power than the 100% power limit?... My card is a XFX GTS XXX EDITION 8 GB and it's in a pretty small and with just-a-small-82-mm-fan-as-exhaust case. That should be the main point of the overheating but it doesn't explains anything about the core clock. It isn't thermal throttling tho, it was on 100% fan speed all the time. The fans did start doing a weirdish noise but it stopped and came back etc. No noise at 90% but it does sound a bit weird (only if you listen clooooosely*barely hearable* at 60%). Please let me know if I should add more info I can't think of anything else right now since it's early in the morning and I created this thread now so that I can actually maybe get some responses for later.

I have an RX 580 pre oc'd from Sapphire which randomly crashes in some games. I see the shutting down with the buffer wheel and for a few seconds the computer is off but then suddenly it turns back on by itself and the GPU fans ramp up to max speed. This lasts for about 20 seconds before the PC shuts off again and when I turn it back on there's no information on why it crashed leaving me confused and scared. Can anyone help me? Has anyone else had this issue?

Hey everyone! I was recommended posting here after mentioning the performance issues I was having in Star Citizen. First off my system specifications: GPU is a RX 580 8 GB CPU is a Ryzen 5 1600 I have 16 GB Ram And 1 SSD as well as 2 HDDs I am also on Windows 10 Alright, so I've been having quite severe performance issues for a few years now (I got this rig sometime in ~2016), beginning with Minecraft, where I was unable to run the game with shaders at more than very unstable 40 FPS. Now for some reason I can run shaders just fine at smooth 70 FPS now, which I assume is due to an update to optifine, I still get massive lag spikes in MC, with or without shaders. Now more recently: I've been playing a lot of Star Citizen and I noticed that when moving the game to my SSD it took up over 120 GB despite the file being only ~72 GB. CP 2077 did the same thing for a while. I temporarily fixed that issue by reinstalling windows, it is now back though. Aside from that I get less than stellar fps, at about 15 to 30. Other people with the same setup seem to be able to play the game normally, whilst I can hardly dock a ship without crashing. And my CPU and GPU aren't even close to 100%. I have tried nearly every trick I could find: power settings, optimizing windows and Radeon software, reinstalling, overclocking, etc... Currently I am running the game at a lower resolution with AMD sharpening, min settings, affinity set to what this guide recommends (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/50174/thread/developers-hate-this-boost-your-ryzen-performance-) and having the game set to high priority. I am getting ~25 fps in the station but very unstable FPS everywhere else that range from 15-40. I would like to add that I can play Battlefield 5, Anthem, Valheim, rdr2, CP2077, and any other game just fine. Or at least not drastically worse than expected. Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day! - Demo

Hello, as of right now, my GPU doesn’t seem to be working. Or at least it doesn’t seem to be giving putting an output. Backround info: I was playing one day, and then all of a sudden, my PC suddenly shut off. This never happened to me before, and I’ve had my PC for less than half a year. So after it shutdown all of a sudden, I of course attempted to turn it back on. But once it did turn back on, I noticed that my GPU fans weren’t moving. Every thing else was turned in, the lights behind my mobo were still on, my CPU fan as well as my case fans were still running. The only thing that didn’t appear to work was my GPU and it’s fans, as my monitor was showing “No input.” I looked online and tried a couple methods to fix this. I removed my RAM sticks and replugged them and removed and plugged back in my GPU, but no results were made. Can someone please give me some advice? My current specs: PSU: Corsair 650w GPU: rx 580 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (with stock cooler) Storage: 500 GB SSD RAM: 8 GB x 2

Hello everyone so in my most recent build I decided to include a rx 580 Because I got a good deal on it, so installing and everything went swell, until I booted it up and I kept getting no signal and no post. So, What I did was go through a bunch of random guides and everything because my pc and everything was all lighting up and no ez-debug lights were on and GPU fan was spinning. SPECS Ryzen 5 3600 CPU Msi Radeon rx 580 armor B450 Tomahawk max motherboard 16 Gb DDR4 RGB ram Evga BR 500 watt Bronze Power supply An NZXT H510 Case And a 940 gb SSD and Yes I did connect the PC However, today I randomly decided to put my old gt 1030 into the pc, and voila, it booted perfectly into bios and everything and I installed windows without any issues. So, I was wondering if that is possible? No ez-debug leds, fans spinning, but still a DOA gpu? and Im ordering another rx 580 so any way I can prevent this for next time or is that just how it is? Thanks

Hello, I've recently installed a sapphire rx 580 nitro 4gb card into my rig to test it. The sapphire led logo comes on but the fans do not spin and there is no display. I've connected a working gpu with it and booted into windows where I could see if it would be detected there but it's not being detected. Any way of fixing the problem? Thank you. I'm using: ryzen 5 3600 16gb corsair vengeance rgb Gigabyte rtx 2060 1000w corsair psu Asus strix b450-f motherboard

I'm upgrading my build from an rx 580, and I was wondering if getting a 1080 8g second hand for 350 dollars (This is all due to the scalping of the 3000 series cards) is a good deal. I'm just unsure about how future proof it will be, as well as the performance gain I would get from going back 2 generations. Any help is appreciated :^)

I've been having problems with games on my xfx rx 580 gts black edition. Games will mostly artifact, black screen, and crash out. i've tried reinstalling drivers using ddu, updating windows, underclocking, undervolting, raising the power limit to 50%, and I've also upped from a 500w psu to 650w. Albeit it's not a great psu, it draws 588w from the +12v rail, but I'm still pretty sure that's enough to power my card.

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 stock GPU: XFX RX 580 8GB at 1366 MHz RAM: G.Skill 16GB 3600 MHz Motherboard: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 2x 1080p 144hz Freesync monitors BIOS: P1.60 - AMD AGESA Combo-AM4 1.0.0.3 PSU: EVGA 500W Bronze OS: Windows 10 20H2 When i'm playing games in Windowed Fullscreen applications on my secondary monitor will stutter and drop frames like crazy. Youtube will try to auto adjust quality to lowest and still stutter while my games performance will remain fine. This has been a constant with every Adrenaline 2020 driver, only fixes being either play the game in Fullscreen which makes alt-tabbing annoying or going back to Adrenaline 2019 driver which prevents some newer games from playing. Windows game mode has been disabled and i've tried DDU to do a clean install. Wiping and reinstalling windows did not help either. For a time enabling eyefinity then disabling it worked but that stopped after a driver update and hasn't worked since. Any help would be appreciated.

Budget (including currency): - Country: - Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly gaming (1080p) Other details: my first ever built, already got everything other than cpu and mobo, and as the title suggest, i'd like to gather a bit of opinion on cpu pairing. i've been trying to get those mythical 3300x but to no avail, even gone as far as contacting the vendor/supplier of the retail seller. so i guess its 2600 or 3500 for me. i've seen few comparison which state that 3500 is basically comparable to a 3300x. but those comparison use super overkill gpu like 2080 super or something. i can go with a 3600 but i figured it'll get bottlenecked with my gpu. so basically is 3500 better for me? or 2600 would be fine since my gpu isn't really that powerful? those extra thread can be really usefull, lots of time i play game with discord, chrome, and few other junks in the backgrounds.

Will the Rage mode OC feature come to Polaris GPUs like the RX 580/570/560 or is it RDNA 2 exclusive? I'm hoping that since it's a software level feature, it should be supported.

Hi guys I might need some help to explain this weird things on my new pair of GPUs. I just recently bought 2 2nd hand Power Color RX 580 4GB GDDR5 graphic cards for my family PCs. While both cards has been performing great without any issues, I noticed that one of the RX 580 has a significant higher FPS in benchmark (around 15% higher FPS in Furmark @122 fps compared to the other card @105 fps). When I checked the Radeon Adrenalin software, I noticed that the only difference between the two is in the memory clock where the higher performant card has 2000 MHz VRAM and the other card has 1750 MHz VRAM. From Power Color website, the stock VRAM clock should be at 1750 MHz. What leaves me confused is that I'm not running any overclocking software on the 2000 MHz VRAM RX 580 and I would like to know whether it is possible to change the default GPU VRAM clock within the RX 580 itself? Thank you for your response My higher performant RX 580 VRAM Clock The stock Power Color RX 580 VRAM Clock from its website

I recently built a gaming PC and i am in love with it. I have used Macbook pros and iMacs most of my life because i am a videographer and i had windows installed with boot camp. I loved playing Valorant on my Macbook and it ran perfectly, however on my new PC its skips and lags a lot. i have gone through and tuned the GPU but nothing has worked. I play War zone and Siege at max settings and have no problems at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times as well as different programs for monitoring. I also tried moving it installing to both my boot drive and my secondary SSD. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem might be? Hello everyone, It's my first time seeking help through LTT Forum. I own a RX 580 MSI card & the link to the model is as below: https://www.msi.com/Graphics-card/Radeon-RX-580-8G I manually updated the Driver from 19.10 to the latest 20.4.2 & while in between the update the system randomly crashed. I turned it on & I received only black screen while the fans were spinning on the GPU. My CPU is Ryzen 7-1700 so it doesn't have a n iGPU & I used a spare GTX 760 to check what happened. The drivers were installed for 20.4.2. I reset windows to see if that solves the problem yet it persisted. The RX 580 was visible in GPUz and MSI afterburner when I ran it from my second PCI slot. I flashed the bios on the RX 580 with a similar bios still the same problem. What might be the cause? Is it dead or bricked or beyond that.

I built a pc a few weeks ago and it worked fine until I noticed every time the gpu got stressed it just rebooted. I made some test and I determined the PSU was faulty. I had a Corsair CV650 80+ bronze. It should be enough for my build so I sent it back for warranty. However I just decided I want to get a better PSU anyways, and in my local market I only have a few "decent" options, shown below. What do you think would be a better acquisition for my build? (The prices are just an approximation in US dollars. The tech market here is kind of crazy, plus the PSU market right now is also crazy, so double crazy prices) EVGA 600 BR 80+ Bronze (85 usd) XPG Core Reactor 650W 80+ Gold (100 usd) EVGA 700 BQ 80+ Bronze (100 usd) Gigabyte G750H 750W 80+ Gold (115 usd) EVGA 750 GA 80+ Gold (145 usd) My built is: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (basic clock. Stock cooler) GPU: XFX RX580 8GB (basic clock, I think) RAM: Corsair LPX 16GB 3200Mhz PSU: Corsair CV650W 80+Bronze Board: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite Chasis: Corsair Carbidge Spec-06. Two 120mm fans: front and rear. Samsung Evo 970 Plus Nvme M.2 500GB Windows 10/64bit

Box says it requires a 500+ watt psu but I already got a 450 watt psu. Should upgrade or is it no big deal? Other parts include a ryzen 5 3600, 16 gb ram a hard drive and ssd.
