Hello, I'm currently interested in knowing if it is worth upgrading my GPU at this moment in time. I'm currently using - CPU - Ryzen 7 1700 (Stock) Cooler - wraith spire RGB cooler MOBO - GA-AX370-GAMING 5 GPU - Rx 470 RAM - 2x8gb corsair @3000mhz PSU - 750w EVGA G2 I'm looking to upgrade to either a 2060 or 2070, although I'm wondering if it would be worth the wait to see what else comes out of the 16 series, or the rumored Navi GPUs. I mainly play at 1080p@60hz and use two monitors, but I would like the choice to move to either 1080p@120/144hz or 1440p in the future.

So I'm thinking of adding rx 470 on my ancient pc and I plan on using it on gaming would this severely bottleneck the gpu?

I recently upgraded to a 470 from GTX 660 and while going through Gpu-z i saw instead of Pcie 3 it was shown as running @ x2 1.1 and in hwinfo Pcie 3 (8GT/s ) @ x2 (5GT/s). This mobo has Pcie 3 advertised but in actuality does it only have 2.0 ? If it is does will it have significant impact on performance as i am aiming for 900p 60 Fps on high settings. Also i updated mobo bios to latest update of v1107.

I have a sapphire RX 470 4GB (Blower Style cooler - which is very loud and the card gets too hot now, after 3 years), I was thinking of upgrading. Is the 1660 Super a good upgrade over a RX 470? Or should I spend more and get a RTX 2060 non-super? Where I live the 1660 Super costs 19000 INR (~267 USD) and the 2060 costs 25500 INR (~358 USD). EDIT: I play mostly AAA games (Red Dead 2, Assassins Creed Series etc.) and PUBG.

I built a pc for a friend around two months ago. The specs: P5q Se PLUS Xeon E5450 8 GB DDR2 RX 470 Cooler Master MWE 550 So, he was able to use it for around two weeks before the pc started to go black screen randomly (even without GPU load). There was no artifacts, lines or anything that shows sign of a broken GPU. Sometimes, if he waits for a few days, he will be able to play again for hours without any problem. Sometimes the pc won't even complete post. The diagnostic beep or lights will tell that somethings wrong with the GPU. What I had done: 1. Replaced RAM, still the same 2. Checked cables, good condition 3. Tried another motherboard, same no post at boot. Could it be a faulty PSU? Just found out that the Powerdevil RX470 in this pc was used for mining for over 2 years+.

Hi everyone! I have a custom built PC that I got way back that seems to be dying already. I've tried reinstalling Windows 10 but I'm constantly getting blue screens when I try to install either drivers (latest drivers) or even applications like Office and Photoshop. The hard drives are fine so I either suspect that it might be the motherboard or the memory that is dying. Old Specs: - AMD A10 5800k - Asrock FM2A85X Extreme 4 - 8GB G.Skills Ripjaws X Dual Channel - Sapphire RX 470 4GB Nitro Anyways, I assume that it is indeed dying and would like to upgrade to a newer CPU. Can anyone suggest a build suitable for me that's within $400-$500? I'm most likely going to play games and I also do some work on it (like editing photos, videos, rendering stuff, etc.) so I'm kind of leaning towards a Ryzen build. I only need to buy a CPU, Memory and Motherboard since I plan on salvaging other parts since they're still doing ok. Thanks!

Hi there. I just bought second-hand pc from ebay. Seller is claiming everything was working before he posted it, but I just had "no signal detected". PC Specs: Ryzen 3 1300 Rx 470 4gb Sapphire 8gb Kingston 2666 Evga 600w a320m-pro I swapped rx470 with rx590 and everything was working as it should. However, rx470 still was not working in my main pc. I tried it with 3 different monitors as well different cables HDMI, DVI and Display Port. Only once I managed to get some kind of "feedback" from the rx470 which was white/pink artefact screen. I didnt try to update the BIOS since newer card was working just fine on a320. I try both modes of BIOS on gpu (V Bios switch) with the same results. Just want to ensure that gpu in fact is faulty or I am missing something specific about this card? Thank you

I have the opportunity to trade an old case and some fans for an RX 470 4gb. I built my girlfriend a pc with left over parts and she currently has a gtx 960 2gb. She has an i3 8300 & 8gb ram. I think the power supply is a 450w Corsair power supply. Would it be worth upgrading the gtx 960 to a Rx 470? And would it draw the same amount of power or (more/less). Im only asking because I have gotten mixed information from what I have been able to Google.

I remember plenty of tutorials for using the nVidia P106 and other mining editions of the RX 470 for gaming. They all required flashing the BIOS and using an integrated GPU to output the video. However, I noticed there are some mining editions of the RX 470 that actually come with a DVI output on it. Can these mining GPUs be used as gaming GPUs without needing to flash the BIOS and using an iGPU? I presume the DVI port must be used for video output so what would happen if I used one of these RX 470s as a primary GPU for gaming and output video directly through it? Or would there need to be more done in order to use them for gaming?

Hey guys I'm just looking for some second opinions on my buying dilemma. Looking to buy a used video card off Kijiji and I cannot make a decision. My options are: - Zotac GTX 1050Ti 4GB listed at $180 CAD - Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 4GB listed at $180 CAD - MSI RX 470 4GB listed at $200 CAD Some other important information is that the power supply for the system is a 500w Rosewill unit so I have some doubts about the R9 290 using that psu. Basically I wonder if I should go for a newer card such as the RX 470 or 1050Ti, even if it is a little bit slower just for the fact that they are a newer architecture and perhaps have better driver support. Any insight you guys can give is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I just bought 2 used Radeon RX 570 graphics cards from Geeks.com. I installed the graphics card along with the drivers from AMD’s website. The graphics card is running quite well, but when I started up Elite Dangerous it told me my adapter was a Radeon RX 470. I then checked windows with the dxdiag and it too said my graphic card was the RX470, along with the AMD software detecting it as the 470. The graphics card says RX-570DE PA6050. Looking at the phisical form it looks like the RX 470 with one fan on the left of the card, looking at its face. While the RX 570 has two fans from the AMD website. I tried both graphics cards and they are both detected as RX 470. Did I actually get an RX 570 or did I receive a RX 470? Or do I have the wrong drivers for the RX 570 cards? The store is closed at the moment so I can’t ask them about the 2 products till tomorrow. I have been searching the internet for a while and haven’t found much. Any information would be helpful.

Hello everyone, so 1 year ago I upgraded my i3 3240 4gb ram pc with a new rx 470, a 240 gb ssd and an additional stick of ddr3 memory (4gb). Every game I initially intended to play is currently running smoothly (I expected worse performance). AAA titles that are considered performance intensive like the witcher 3, gta 5, watch dogs 2 and such are running on 40-55 fps and they look spectacular, of course some times I need to turn off post processing effects that are cpu intensive to get a higher fps number but everytime I lower settings like texture resolution the fps remains the same. Now I started playing late 2017 titles like ac:origins (and also bf1 and battlefront 2) and the performance was indecipherable... underwhelming... I'm going to upgrade my cpu, now should I buy a 8th / 7th generation cpu and upgrade my board (socket) and ram (to ddr4), or buy an older cpu that will match the current socket in my MB that only supports 3-4 generation intel processors? Should I get an i5 3th/4th generation or an i7 to get 60 fps on ultra? What is the difference between the i5 4660 and the i5 4660s and 4590 and such? Thanks, and sorry for poor language

Hi all, im having problem with Asus Strix RX470 OC 4GB DDR5. Card is working normally(good fps, normal temps etc.), until it's not working. Card just shuts down, fans stop spinning, I get a message on display "no connection". And i have to press a power button for a few seconds to turn the system off. Everything is fine when i watch youtube videos, surfing the net, movies etc, but problem occurs when playing games. Happened in LoL, Fortnite, Borderlands, PES. (in PES shuts down very fast). When running FurMark or Unigen(Heaven and Superposition) PC and card are working normally, no shutdowns, no stuttering, no problems. So i tested with old and new drivers, flashing new BIOS on card, tried messing with OC software(lowering power, speeding the fans up, etc.), reinstalled Windows(all legal software), tested with other PSU. Tested GPU memory, no problems. Tested graphics card on another rig with new installation of windows and same thing happened, after playing PES for some time, card just shut down. I've read on another forum that low quality PSU can be a problem, low Max Amp on 6pin rail or something like that. But i've tested with 3 differnet PSUs doubt thats the case (maybe it is). I would appriciate any help. Thank you!

I've been troubleshooting for a while now but I can't get my GPU to go past 60℃ without crashing. I think it may be a safety precaution on the card and I can't find out how to disable it. I've included the Dxdiag. My GPU is an AMD Radeon Sapphire RX 470 Nitro+ 8GB. My GPU is fine overclocked and my fans do their jobs but as soon as I hit 60℃ my GPU shuts itself down, AMD Settings crashes and my game/benchmark crashes. I then have to reapply my overclock. I am using Wattman to overclock as AMD Cards do not play nice with other software. I have tried making my fans work at 100% which keeps it below 60℃ and the card never crashes but the fans are very loud and it'd just be easier for my GPU to max out at 80℃ or 85℃ as 60℃ for an overclocked GPU isn't that bad. https://gyazo.com/f509f8056d5ea0991bfcdf9562c27c6c As you can see by the image I have my Wattman settings set up so that 90℃ is the max temperature yet it still shuts down at 60℃. Hey guys So im currently rocking an i5 4570 in my dell optiplex I've converted into a gaming pc. (Added in a 500w psu and an rx 470). So i'm looking to upgrade to a another haswell cpu that is an i7. I was gonna buy the 4790 since I can't overclock anyway. But then, I realized that the base clock on the 4790k is way higher for about the same price (3.6 vs 4 ghz). So would I have any compatibility issues?

Current specs: i5 4570, RX 470, 12 GB ram. I'm torn between upgrading my monitor to a freesync monitor or buying a better CPU (probably i7 4790). My current monitor is a simple AOC monitor @ 60 hz What would you guys buy first?

So the other day I was mining with my 2 rx 470's and I decided to turn them off in order to clean out the dust. The next morning (I forgot to clean them) I rebooted the system to get back with mining but my main graphics card didnt boot propperly. So I swapped them over, thinking not to much about it. The system finaly turned on and I noticed that only 1 card was running and the other didnt, turns out it didnt even got detected. After some trail and error I preformed a fresh install of windows 10, installed the driver and still nothing showing up. I realy dont know what to do / what happend because I can't even find him in device manager. any tips / suggestions?

I can t decide on a gpu, I have enough budget wise to get a GTX 1060 3gb or an RX 570 4gb, the 1060 does perform better in benchmarks I've seen how ever I am a little concerned about having so little VRAM. Also how long do you think each card would last before needing an upgrade?

I just wanted to ask. Which one would be a better buy in terms of gaming performance? I only play pubg steam. I already have some of the other parts. I7 3770 Asus h61m-c Team elite 16gb 2x8gb ddr3 1600mhz Adata su650 240gb 1tb hdd Corsair gs600 Please consider the bottleneck if there is any. I would really like the one where i can really utilize the gpu.

Recently decided im going to upgrade my pc using the I5 Skylake and 8gb of DDR4 HyperX Black. Now, Originally I had planned to get the I3 instead and a RX 480... but got told the i5 was a better choice, so that brings it down to which brand is best for the RX 470? I was looking at the MSI RX 470 4gb Gaming X but have also been told the Sapphire RX 470 tends to overclock better... what are some of your suggestions for the RX 470 brand wise? I found a place I can get this GPU MSI RX 470 Gaming X for less then $150 so before I go and do that I want to make sure im picking the right brand here.

Hello guys ! this post is gonna be short and simple. I'm looking to buy an ssd and a GPU . After rigorous research to the shitty Greek PC hardware market I've come to the conclusion that I'll buy the Mushkin Triactor 240GB SSD due to it's price/performance and availability/variety ratio Also for a gpu I opted for an XFX variant of the RX 470. My current setup is the following and my question is twofold. Will it bottleneck HEAVILY with this card that I have to upgrade CPU and will it provide enough wattage? SPECS: CPU :AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE @3.4 GHZ GPU :MSI R7 260X PSU : CX 430W Corsair RAM: x2 4GB Corsair RAM with heatsink DDR3 (I don't remember which one but pretty decent ones) CPU COOLER: Arctic Cooling Freezer A11 Fan Configs: Cpu Cooler fan 120mm, 80mm back case fan and 80mm front face fan in a mini ITX form factor. (kinda shitty case but whatever.) I don't think I omitted anything. Α friend of mine says that I'll be just on the verge of "fine". It will work , until my PSU loses capacity...over the years. It's an 3 year old PSU but stable as all hell. Sorry for the long post and I'm looking forward to some reassuring (or not) answers.

Hello guys I just got a system upgrade i used to play on purely APU, SO I BOUGHT THE RX 460, and it seems to be running WELL i have a 900p monitor and damn gta V runs Fine like super fine ALSO tried FALLOUT 4, BATMAN, Most wanted and Moba games and was reeally amazed by what this card can do. i just updated my drivers today and have not seen any further driver updates. i have a some questions since this is the very first system upgrade ive had : #1 assassin's Creed 3 does not run well (which is weird cus it goes 60 fps when i look up or down am i bound by my cpu?) but when compared to playing gta V: (which is definitely more demanding ) it runs better than the older game is this an optimization issue? #2 planning to upgrade my cpu but not my mobo ----> will the athlon x4 860k be way better than my old apu? #3 fans not spinning at low temps on my gpu, its normal right and it wont burn my gpu ? #4 on the device manager, i could still see my r7 graphics driver. do i need to uninstall it? is this limiting my new GPU's performance?(photo below) #5 i have overclocked my APU before, but only up to 3.7 ghz as its base for about 20 mins and decided it was not worth it and set multipliers and other settings back to auto on the bios? should OC help me with the AC game? #6 i know that FM2+ is dead, dont judge me this is an old system this is the cheapest board that can support my 1866 ram , i also have a single 1866 8 gig ram from kingston should i consider adding a second stick or is 8 gigs good enough?

None of the graphics cards in this year's line-up would sell as much as the RX 480 and RX 470 if AMD could keep them available. Those are the cards that the highest percentage of users require. They would have made so much more money off of this product line than probably any other product line they've ever released. How is somebody at AMD not replaced every hour? It's difficult for me to imagine a scenario where AMD are doing their job right at this point. I'm not a market analyst but I don't think a person has to be to know that people can't purchase something that's not there. Apparently their factories are fabricating like 10 graphics cards a month now? A 750 TI SLI is almost practical at this point. Somebody make this make sense please.

Currenty looking to pick up one of these for a new rig, but cant find anything online comparing the two cards as of writing this, if you see something or know something please reply Btw take not it's the 3gb 1060 variant im asking about.
