Greetings Everyone! My RX 460 fans are having problems lately. For some reason, the fan on my GPU goes up to the max speed 3200+ RPM then goes back down to it's normal speed. This happens randomly for no reason whether the PC is just sitting on idle or browsing the internet. The GPU isn't even hot at all and it is only at around 30 degrees. Whenever the fan ramps up, it lasts from less than a second to up to a minute or two. On GPU-Z whenever the fan ramps up, the reading gets weird because the fan percentage is on 27% but the RPM is at 3200+. But when the speed goes back down and when the fan goes back to normal, the reading becomes correct like 27% with 1300+rpm. Same reading can be found in MSI Afterburner. It also won't follow the custom fan curve whenever it ramps up to the max speed This also happens in BIOS and safe mode. Here are the things I did: -Set a custom fan curve -Uninstalled MSI Afterburner -Reseating the Graphics card -Using DDU to reinstall the drivers several times -Updating the drivers to the latest version -Cleaned the GPU and the PCIE slot (I didn't change the thermal paste though) -Reconnected/reseated the GPU fan -Reset the BIOS -Updated the motherboard BIOS firmware to the latest version -Replaced my PSU But none of these fixed the issue. My Specs: Motherboard: Asus H81m-D CPU: Intel Pentium G3250 (I know this sucks but I'm about to upgrade it soon) GPU: Sapphire RX 460 2gb Single Fan RAM: 8gb DDR3 1333mhz PSU: Silverstone strider essential series 500w Wishing that someone knows a solution that might help. Thanks in advance!

I was using Nvidia GTX 750 2GB on windows 11. After that I replaced my GPU with AMD RX 460 (ASUS 2GB Version) on which I was experiencing driver crash and black screen issues. I had tried some of solutions from internet. Also I downgraded to windows 10. I installed a fresh copy of Windows 10. And just after installing the Official AMD Drivers 21.6.1, while checking Windows Updates this happened (check in video 20210913_231246.mp4). After that I'm continuously experiencing (randomly on different applications) the PC being stuck (for a couple of seconds and sometimes I have to restart manually) and recovering automatically after flickering Screen. I was able to run Furmark in which I stress tested my GPU for almost 20 minutes with 1920x1080 Resolution and 2xMSAA Anti Aliasing (check in video 20210914_121626.mp4). All I need to know is that, is my GPU (or any other component of my PC) is Faulty or is it just a Drivers issue? 20210913_231246.mp4 20210914_121626.mp4

Hey all, I recently received a bought Gigabyte RX 460 Windforce 2GB for my HTPC. I wanted it to handle some gaming loads, but also to handle 4K 60FPS for watching movies and web browsing. I have a Vizio 4K home theater display that has 1 HDMI 2.0 port. However, when I set my screen resolution to 1440p or 4K and set refresh rate to 60FPS and do what I want to do, after about 10 minutes the screen will go full screen black, then full screen green, then full screen gray-ish bars for a total of about 5 seconds, then resume to whatever it was displaying before. It doesn't matter if I'm gaming at 4K on a lighter title like Pro Evolution Soccer or just sitting idly on desktop. I'll be playing a game or just browsing the web, that the display issue hits. I don't get any notifications from Windows that the driver crashed. The GPU fans are spinning and GPU temps are hovering around 30c, according to MSI Afterburner. These screen issues don't happen at all on 1080p. I've changed out the HDMI cable and re-seated the GPU. I've removed and reinstalled the drivers a few times, switching between letting Windows get the drivers and just going to the AMD site itself. I'd swap the graphics card, but I don't have another convenient card to drop into it. I'd put my GTX 970 in there, but the power supply doesn't have enough 6-pin connectors to make it work. When looking through the AMD software information, I found an intriguing piece of information that, I'm thinking, is related to the source of my problems. The current PCIe bus settings are currently, "PCI Express 2.0 x4", even though the motherboard is rated at PCIe 2.0 x16. The system was originally put together out of pure curiosity and the fact MicroCenter had the motherboards on sale for $0.01 if I bought a compatible CPU. I couldn't find any options in the BIOS that affect the speed of the PCIe lane. The only thing I found was setting PCIe or Onboard display as the primary display, which is currently set to PCIe Could the PCIe lane be my issue? Specs: CPU: AMD Athlon 5350 Kabini 2.05 GHz Quad Core Motherboard: AsRock AM1B-ITX GPU: Gigabyte AMD RX 460 2GB Windforce RAM: 1 stick of Crucial Ballistix 4GB 1600 SSD: Kingston UV400 120GB PSU: EVGA 430w 80+ white Case: Corsair 250D Mini ITX OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with all available updates.

Hello ltt community. Recently i bought rx 460 2Gb by Asus. Today i tried rendering in Sony Vegas 13 (with openCl) and in rendering it performs worse than my pentium g3258 @3.2. I can't figure out why it renders that slow.if you could help me that would be nice

I love my little rx 460, gigabyte windforce oc edition. I even spent the extra 10 bucks for 2 more gigs of ram, but I know better than anyone that this solution won't hold long. Anybody have suggestions for a budget upgrade? I know ebay always has some nice deals on r9 nitros, but I'm not sure on how big of an upgrade that really is.

I just wrote out a whole introduction paragraph for this thing and hit the trash can when I went to turn off italics. Linoos plz fix. Okay here's a bunch of questions I have: On older pre-built cases is there a way to tell what each case input plug corresponds with without deconstructing the front of the case? How many HDD power connections does a standard EVGA power supply come with? Is it possible to build a sleeper build in a Windows XP era case using modern hardware? If a mini ITX case says that you can only use GPUs up to 190mm long if you want to use an HDD, and your GPU is 191mm, would it still fit? (The case is the RVZ02) When I use PCPartPicker, it says that certan H110m motherboards need a BIOS update before use with Kaby Lake S CPUs (Pentium G4560). Does this only occur with LGA 1150 socket H110m motherboards, or do LGA 1151 socket motherboards need the bios update as well? I'll be back with more questions tomorrow, I'm just tired and want to get some sleep soon. PC build link: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/tdorval23/saved/Dh4GXL

I'm just curious how this would stack up. I have a much more powerful PC that I use daily, but as a LAN rig meant for portability and esports games (DOTA and CS) and maybe the occasional AAA adventure game, would this be pretty decent? This HP Prebuilt Office PC with an i5-2500, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB HDD and Win 7 + This Low Profile, Single Slot RX 460 from MSI.

Hello! Today I was looking at my GPU, I saw it had the 6-pin connector soldering holes on the top, but there is no 6-pin female connector on it. So I was wondering Could it be possible to solder a 6-pin female connector to it? I wanted to do it, but i thought it would be a better idea to ask the Pros about such a topic. The Rx 460 i have is this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01K1JVO86/ref=twister_B01LZVK47F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 So Should I or shouldn't I do it? I will mostly do because my motherboard doesn't power the GPU enough when I over clock it. I've got all the necessary tools for it: 6-pin connector Female, Soldering iron, solder, Asus Rx 460 2Gb and a mind. *Takes of his hat and bows down* Thank you my good sir!

Today, I would like to tell a story of a legend known only as Tortex the turtle. Tortex is my computer. It is a turtle, because as my sister harshly said (as a joke) "It's going to be super slow". Also, anyone who plays guitar may know that Tortex is the name of one of Dunlop's picks, and is taped to my case. Tortex is rocking a msi z170 a pro, a Samsung 960 evo (by far my highest quality part), a seagate barracuda 320 gig hard drive, a i5 6500 that I really want to replace with something overclock able, a legendary rx 460, a corsair 750 watt PSU, all inside the awful rosewill challenger S. This is my first computer build, and I am super proud, and I think that this build addresses a certain type of gaming that nobody really talks about. 1080p, 30-40 fps. Not everybody, and especially not me, is a legendary gamer who can both tell the difference between 30 and 60fps in game, and make a difference with it. I find for honor fine at 30. This computer is so casual, that I don't even have a single ame with a competitive mode on it, though that will most likely change soon. While I am no overclocking veteran, i think I did pretty well with my aforementioned legendary 100 dollar card. he gigabyte windforce 4gb oc edition rx 460. I maybe should hve gotten the 2gb version instead, but whatever. After a afterburner downloading nightmare with annoying issues, I started Overclocking. I got up to 1317 mhz on the core and 1835 mhz on the memory, with a fan speed of eight. Pretty darn good.

Lately I've been thinking to upgrade my rig. I want to buy an extra 4GB stick of RAM and switch from Nvidia GeForce GT 730 (yes I know) to Radeon RX 460 2/4GB. I just don't know if my CPU (Intel Pentium G3430) Is really going to be that good for gaming despite the new graphics card (If the fps is going to be lower because of the processor and that stuff). Thanks.

So currently I would like to crossfire two RX 460. However, the one I want has 2 gb difference in vram, and is made by a different company. My question is, can I still crossfire? And as always, thanks for the help guys.

Hello there A couple days ago I bought an Asus RX 460 Strix 4GB GPU as an upgrade from my GTX 750 Ti. I was aware it wouldn't be a huge upgrade but there was a sale going on, so I went and bought it on a whim. The package soon arrived and after cleaning the previous drivers with DDU and installing the new ones, I went in for a couple hours of gaming, and it didn't take long to notice that the new GPU seemed to be performing worse than my previous one. My system specs are as follows: Pentium G4400 H110i PRO motherboard 2x4GB DDR4 RAM 128GB SSD for OS and Softwares 1TB HDD for games and personal files XFX TS 450w PSU Windows 8.1 OS Latest Nvidia and AMD drivers available Taking Rise of the Tomb Raider as an example, with the GTX 750 Ti I could roam freely through the geothermal valley without having textures issues or frame drops, it ran at a stable 30 fps after setting the Vsync option to Half Adaptive Vsync in Nvidia Control Panel. With the RX 460, I can't even point the camera to a place with a few NPCs and the fps drops down to 25 or less, with some missing textures every now and then. Locking down the FPS to 30 using either Radeon Settings or Riva Tuner didn't have any effect. Now, here's the question: is this situation happening because of the AMD driver overhead? Seeing how things were fine before, is there anything I can do to make the RX 460 perform better without having to upgrade my CPU? Any help is appreciated.

My GPU is a Sapphire RX460 Nitro 4GB (OC), and it is capable of running BF1 at 1080p, Ultra settings, 35-45 fps with no stuttering or fps drops(DX12 and GPU memory restriction ON). Will I see any significant performance improvements, or am I just wasting those 160 Euros? Otherwise, should I get a 480(8gb, 350-400 Euros), or a 470(8gb, 300 Euros)? PLEASE REPLY. Hey guys! Building a budget PC is really a headache when you already have a PC So...my parents bought me a pre built PC 4-5 years back Specs : i3 2100 Intel DH61WW A Kingston 4GB DDR3 Seagate 500GB HDD Mercury 450W (I think this is some local PSU...not gonna keep it anyway) Never had a GPU, so..was living a life within 20fps, finished some games including Assassin's Creed 3, Far Cry 2 and Just Cause 2...but all the games at the next level are almost non playable So I decided to do something for it. I have two options: 1. Upgrade the current system by adding a dedicated GPU 2. Get an APU now and add a GPU later If I've to add a GPU to my i3 system, I'd buy the Radeon RX 460 and if I'm gonna get an APU, it would be the A10 7700k (I'll add a GPU later when i can afford it) The games I'll most likely play are: Assassin's Creed Series, GTA 4 and 5, Resident Evil 6 and 7, NFS Series, Star Wars, Witcher 3, Middle Earth, Far Cry Series, Just Cause 3, Crysis Series and Tomb Raider. I'm okay with 1280 x 720 at medium settings and 30+ fps (It would be a blessing lol). I use my PC mostly for Gaming and sometimes for Video Editing(Rendering time doesn't matter...just want the job done). My motherboard is not working now, so I gotta get a new mobo anyway. I'm from India btw and my budget is 200 USD (Mobo + GPU/APU) Since the APUs have a good future and the above mentioned GPU performs better than the iGPU, I can't get a balance between these two. I really need help with this asap (rebate for the Asus rx 460 ends on 28th..so.) Please help! thank you in advance

In the end i found a really cheap RX460 and decided to buy it (90 euros and trust me, that is cheap). It is the Sapphire Nitro 4gb one and I was reading some articles on the internet about it while waiting for it to be delivered. I found this extragne thing about unlocking more stream processors and I wanted to know, does it still work? Thank you for your help. http://overclocking.guide/amd-radeon-rx-460-unlocking-1024-stream-processors/

Hej, so recently i bought a new ASUS Rx 460 and I installed the drivers and everything needed and when i Launched My favorite game, crashed after a while. Played for like around 5 minutes or more, *Pabamm* back screen, recovers, says that my display drivers had stopped responding and recovered. Some times it even stays dead and i need to unplug the PC from the wall. I tested other games too, older titles like GTA San Worked for longer up to 30 minutes maximum, but then the same symptoms. Games like LoL, WoW and Other E-sports dunked me the same symptoms. AAA Games barely got to loading when already giving me the symptoms. There was a exception, Games like Growtopia (lmao) or just small file sized games didn't crash at all. Could anyone give me any clues what I need to bump up to get this machine working correctly?

I would like to know if my CPU (APU) is Bottlenecking my GPU. My RX 460 doesnt seem to run that much faster as expected in Build Logs. If so, what CPU Do you think you can recommend in the price range $90-$200 (including MoBo if Socket type is different). or, Should I wait for Ryzen 3 and 5 to come out? Reply ASAP! TNX! PS: I dont know where to look in the forums to ask for help so I thought this is the best place i can think of to post. sorry in advance! [Edit:] I couldnt Overlock on more than 75mhz additional clock speed. i can hover around 5-50mhz on stable without crashing later on. 100mhz add shows no artifacts but crashes games. might bottlenecking also the issue? PC Specs: CPU: AMD A8-7600 APU GPU: ASUS Dual Fan RX460 2GB OC (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K1JVO86/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-F2A68MH-H RAM: 8GB (Single Channel)
