EDIT: B450 RELEASED! I noticed that several B450 motherboards have appeared on amazon.com. I couldn't find any article (or different thread) about it so I'm posting it here in general discussion instead of news section. https://www.amazon.com/B450-AORUS-PRO-WIFI-Motherboard/dp/B07FW85VFT This one interesting because amazon says that it ships in 1-2 months. That could be a hint for the release date. https://www.amazon.com/MSI-B450-A-PRO-Motherboards/dp/B07F85YW8R This one is available from third party sellers so I don't trust this one as much. https://www.amazon.com/Gaming-Motherboards-TUF-B450-PLUS-GAMING/dp/B07FMVJT1H This motherboard has 20 available so it may be in the warehouse already. https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450-AORUS-Thermal-Motherboard/dp/B07FWY246F Similar to the first one but cheaper. Gigabyte also has a B450 banner https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard It is a weird situation where basically everything is known before launch. Remember to take this with a grain of salt since they could be fake listings or have placeholder prices. I didn't expect these to come so soon to the US stores after the European leaks.

Good day everyone, I'm looking forward on building a somewhat futureproof (but with a good price/performance ratio) render machine that will be mainly used for 3Ds Max+VRay/Corona render work but also Photoshop, After Effects/Premiere and other multitasking software. No gaming in mind. The processor is my main concern as I am currently looking at a 2700x or a 1920x, where the price difference would be around 375 US dollars (for the whole system) in my country. Another option would be to wait for the soon to be announced Intel 9900k of which recent Cinebench leaks suggest it could come close or even beat the 12 core 1920x. The rest of the components would be the exact same, adapted for socket+cooling and I won't mention them here seeing as they are not targeted by this question. The 2700x and 1920x would also be interesting due to the long term support of the current platforms as I would probably be able to upgrade them in 2 years time and use them as render nodes with cheaper mainboards+lower RAM+no GPU. So, which would you pick and why? o you think (based on current leaks) that it would be worth to wait for the 9900k? Thank you in advance,

Nvidia GeForce Partner Program (GPP) program, where video card makers who signed up for it has a advantage compared to those who didn't such as selling their cards on launch day. There is a catch to Nvidia GPP and that is, video card makers are not allowed to use their own gaming brand on AMD video cards. Now this is a huge problem for some video card makers, not like EVGA where they only make Nvidia cards, but for companies like Gigabyte, MSI, and Asus, where they make cards for both AMD and Nvidia. To get around this, it's rumor that video makers who also make AMD video cards, might create gaming brand exclusively for AMD GPUs. If the rumor turns out to be true, then it's awesome as Nvidia does not have the rights to control any future gaming brands, created by video card manufactures. The article is currently free, but will eventually get behind a paywall, so I'll quote the entire thing. https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20180330PD207.html

https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2018/4/2/17189372/apple-intel-chip-processors-macs-date So basically, Apple is seeing that their ARM based processors have been very well received, and are planning on applying what they learned making CPUs for mobile phones and tablets to their home computer line, likely starting with their 12 inch macbook air. Whether this will mean an ARM based mac or a x86 based one remains to be seen. While I'm a fan of MOAR POWER, Intel chips are not the limiting factor on any mac imo. This actually kinda upsets me, because I KNOW this is the reason why they haven't updated the mac mini I have SINCE 2014. I hope they use some of the money they save making their own chips to either reduce prices or refresh their desktop lineup, or this will leave a lot of musicians hanging. It will also be interesting to see how long Apple supports Intel macs.

So there is a rumor going around that intel is bringing coffe lake laptop chips with 6core/12threads.. Source: www.chiphell.com/thread-1817327-1-2.html Now this would be awesome to have even more cores in laptops! It's nice that we finally got 4core back in general consumer laptops/notebooks due to AMD, and if this would continue it would even be more interesting as it will only benefit us, the consumers.. Now this also brings pressure on AMD with their mobile chips and if this ends up being true i hope AMD will answer this move and do something similar. What do you guys think?

Samsung just can't let Apple have all the fun with having an 'X' phone as there is a report (rumor) that the phone model SM-G888N0 will be titled as the Galaxy X and it is being talked that this will be a limited release device in the Korea market to be released around December or January. This will supposedly be the rumored foldable Galaxy phone that was announced in September. Main Article: https://en.letsgodigital.org/smartphones/samsung-galaxy-x/ Forbes Article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/ewanspence/2017/11/20/samsung-galaxyx-new-leak-rumor-support-release-date/#5e8c1447fd14 I don't know if any of this has been posted before (tried searching and didn't see anything), however, given the short timeframe, I would definitely see this as a rumor for a device to be soon released. Of course the naming would seem appropriate as Samsung and Apple are rivals and this would be a way for them to extend that rivalry. If this is true, it would be interesting to see this as a product and to see if it eventually expands beyond just Korea.

Supposedly leaked 1080ti specs show GDDR5 (non x) So apparently there's some sort of leak showing the Specs for the 1080ti which as suspected is a slightly cut down version of the Titan XP but a surprising and doubtful claim: it sports normal GDDR5 not the newer GDDR5X found on the 1080 and the Titan XP: In this case the "source" appears to be just a forum post on their forums so take it with a few truckloads of salt specially because well, why go with different memory than the 2 nearest cards? Overall very weird even though the Memory Bandwidth seems to be what you'd expect I am extremely skeptical myself. Carl Richell is director of System76 a laptop& desctop vendor that ships ubuntu ready machines. At right about 52 mins in the video he talks about how getting all companies involved into making linux drivers is a pain and mentions they have Pascal coming within a month, and their website has a notification on their workstation laptop that pascal gpus are coming soon with a notify me button.

So SemiAccurate posted this image a few days ago in their article named AMD’s Wraith cooler is as silent as they claim : They suggest that some info about an unreleased CPU can be extracted from the reflections in the image using GIMP or another image editing tool. Would anybody give a shot at this? I'm familiar with GIMP but I'm not too sure how to proceed about that one.

Seems like Nvidia wants to beat AMD in releasing the next generation of GPUS. Hopefully this will be an actual GP100 or GP104 card not like at CES where they showed a 900 series MX gpu. Definitely seems like Nvidia is trying to push this out of the door but at least eventually we will see GDDR5X cards later. It also seems that this card is aimed at higher resolutions with that 8GB of memory. So on or about the 27th of May we will see an influx of tech reviews on the GTX 1080. At least there still rocking the DVI port. HOLY $H!T, I know AMD did it first with the nano 'a high end graphics card powerd by a single 8 pin' but still, I hope AMDs Polaris well be about the same efficiency. So it seems that Nvidia has been very active about Pascal, I can't wait till the 27th of May. Source:http://wccftech.com/nvidia-pascal-geforce-gtx-1080-gp104-gpu/

There's a new rumor on WCCF that claims there's a new addition to the Arctic Island family of cards, joining the Baffin, Ellesmere, and Greenland codenamed GPU's, and it's name is "Vega10". It goes on to say that Vega10 and Greenland are often mentioned together in documents, while Baffin and Ellesmere also appear together. This suggests that Vega10 bears more similarities to the flagship Greenland GPU than the mid and low end Ellesmere and Baffin GPU's. My suspicion is that Vega10 is supposed to be their highest end "traditional" offerings, the 490 and 490X, while Greenland will be the successor to the Fury X. What this means, I do not know. I personally think this could be a good way to diversify their lineup, helping them more closely compete with Nvidia on the same price points. I do know this is WCCF, however, so be sure to keep in mind this is a rumor - not by any means confirmed. Extreme Tech ran article on the rumors of much faster consoles from Sony and Microsoft. They go into some great analysis on why they might want to do that. Personally I can see the whole console business becoming obsolete soon if they have to constantly keep pushing new hardware. http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/218082-rumor-amd-may-be-working-on-next-gen-consoles-for-2018

So there seems to be quite a lot of rumours going around about the GTX 980ti but I was wondering do you guys think that we will ever see a gtx 990? In the past the X90 series of cards have been dual cards made up of 2 of there highest end cards so do you think that there would be a 990 perhaps made up of 2 possible 980ti. Now i'm not saying this is going to happen I just want to know your guys opinion on it.

Source: http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/05/25/rumor-microsoft-interested-in-acquiring-blackberry Of course, this is a big rumor at the moment... but this could be big news for the slowly failing phone company. Surely, Blackberry has incredible assets and IPs so this could be great for everyone involved. The word is that Lenovo may be expressing interest too. As of right, their stock is tanking, but maybe this is what the company needs to rise back up into a market that needs technology pioneers such as them.

Eprice Taiwan published an article yesterday, claiming the Sony Z4 will have several features upgraded from the Z3. But since these are still rumors, we need to take it with a grain of salt. Eprice TW's summary of the changes from Z3 to Z4 Firstly, the Taiwanese website claimed the Z4's screen will remain @ 5.2", but it will have both 1440p and 1080p variants. While the 1440p variant will be available in the US market, in certain markets only the 1080p variant will be offered. This could be a good chance for reviewers to compare the impact on battery life with the QHD screen, if this rumor is true. The website also claimed there will be small changes in the design of the phone. Firstly, the Z4's metal frame will treated with a glossy finish. Then the micro usb port will be moved from the left side to the bottom, and the port cover will be removed, as the port could remaining waterproof although not being securely closed with the port cover. And because of this change of design, the magnetic charging point will not be found on the Z4. Also the phone may come in different colors, while blue color would be one of the options. (for those who don't know what magnetic charging point is, please click here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286749-rumorthe-sony-xperia-z4-might-be-offered-in-both-qhd-1440p-and-fhd-1080p-versions-with-better-waterproofing-and-shiny-metal/#entry3893219 ) Lastly, the front camera would have some improvements, and the Z4 would still have a large capacity battery. And there are no words on specs in this rumor. So what do you think? Would these changes attract you to buy the Z4, if they are true? p.s. The Taiwanese media also stated that the phone in the leaked render from the North Korean hack (pic below) is indeed the real Z4...... http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/4551/4924586/1/ (in Chinese) http://www.phonearena.com/news/The-Sony-Xperia-Z4-might-be-offered-in-both-QHD-1440p-and-FHD-1080p-versions-with-better-waterproofing-and-shiny-metal_id64507 http://pocketnow.com/2015/01/07/xperia-z4-hardware

Hello all! So, I've heard lots of rumors about a 790 coming out sometime soon. Which makes perfect sense to me... 590... 690... Now 790! It'll be a dual 780 (right?), on one PCB. So, my questions are as follows: 1. How much credit are there to these rumors? They make sense... But just wondering. 2. If I have a 780, would I be able to SLI 780 and 790? Or is there some magic that would break my theory? 3. How much is the expected launch price? Again, I know the 790 isn't announced yet, just theoretical questions based on knowledge of the past cards Thanks all!

http://technewspedia.com/lga-1150-could-be-the-last-socket-intel-future-intel-cpus-will-bga/ It appears that rumors are passing that LGA1150 could be the last socket for the Celeron/Pentium/i3/i5/i7. Extreme Edition and Xeon processors on the LGA-2011 socket will not be affected by this. According to the article, it seems that the new style is a BGA socket, in which the processor is physically soldered to the motherboard, making upgrading highly difficult if not possible. The days of changing your CPU with the next generation *cough Haswell refresh cough* will be over. What is your take on this? Should Intel continue on the LGA path? Should Intel switch to PGA (such as socket AM3+ or FM2+) or do you think that this is a good idea? Vote on the poll above!

It seems Google can't keep anything about the Nexus 5 secret. First there was the KitKat unveiling leak, then the FCC leak, now this. Someone posted a few short videos and a few still photos which seem to have been taken at a perty after a Googler forgot his phone sitting around charging. Just like the initial leaks, there's a landscape Nexus logo and an LG logo on the back and a material that looks to be soft touch plastic, similar to the Nexus 7. There's still that massive ring around the back camera and the front has a camera on the left, a proximity and light sensor on the right and a mysterious white dot which may or may not be a speaker (since there is no speaker visible). This might not be final hardware but there are regulatory markings on the back. I think I would have preferred the Nexus 4 speaker design but I definitely like the use of soft touch plastic, while the glass was nice it was way too fragile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPYVbaF1Jmg ] ^NSFW language warning The first video shows the lockscreen which the people taking the video clearly don't know the pattern for. The clock font is now regular roboto rather than having a bold hour number. Another photo shows off a boot up animation similar to Google Play Edition devices. The signal icon is white in the first video but blue in the second (maybe the device was still connecting to the internet in the first one). The battery icon looks white and almost empty, there is a possibility that the icons change colour. Unfortunately there's very little to see on the software side but we definitely get a clear look at the hardware. Source: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/09/16/what-looks-like-a-drunken-rager-yields-awkward-photos-and-videos-of-the-next-lg-nexus-fixed-lockscreen-clock-font/ While you wait for the Nexus 5 release, here's a fan made 3D render . http://sketchfab.com/show/5f5fe4d8b75f4f4e9fc9f13726b29adb UPDATE: Adding more to this series of leaks, a recent benchmark through GFXBench lists the device as "Nexus 5", further consolidating previous rumours that this will be the neame of the next Nexus (rather than Nexus 4 (2nd generation), for example). It also comes with the "hammerhead" codename which had already surfaced a few weeks ago. It also bears a "KeyLimePie" reference just like the FCC filing, which definitely proves how secretive Google were about the KitKat name (that will of course be changed by the time this product is finished). There are also several mentions of Google in the build host, “brand,” and build fingerprint and a build number starting with the letter K as a reference to KitKat. More importantly this shows the device running a Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.26GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU, just like the LG G2, which should really give this device the best performance in the android market. Screen resolution shows up as 1794×1080, which means the actual display is 1920x1080 counting the software navigation buttons.
