Hey all, Im hoping someone here can help with an issue I'm having. I have an Asus P8Z77-M Pro with an i7 3770k @ 4.4ghz, 8gb LP Corsair vengeance ram @ 1600mhz, a phanteks tc14pe cooler and I just put an rtx 2060 into it. It's the cooler and graphics card that are the issue. The card I've upgraded from was a GTX 780 and whilst there was not much clearance between the edge of the cooler and the graphics card PCB originally with that, I didn't think the 2060 would be an issue. However I didn't account for how large the backplate is on the aorus 2060. Ultimately I couldn't get it to fit it the first pcie slot so I switched to the second one which is Labelled x16 and also says as much in the bios. For some reason though it only wants to run at x8. Does anyone know the cause and/or if there is a solution other than a new motherboard as that would also mean I'd probably need (or want ?) a newer CPU to which needs new ram and just don't really want to have to go down that route if I can avoid it right now. I've read anecdotes of people saying that a 1080ti has no real noticeable difference whether it's running in x8 or with the extra lanes that x16 offers and if true I guess then I probably don't need to worry anyway as my card doesn't actually hit the level of performance a 1080ti offers.. Anyway let me know if I can give any more info.. Cheers all P.s. added an image to show that it is in a card slot labelled x16 in the bios and to show the clearance issue

As for the rest of my build I have a Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB of ram at 3000mhz, 500W EVGA PSU, MSI B450 Tomahawk mobo, and an Eclipse P400S case. Also, does anyone have any of these cards and can provide experiences with them? Oh yea and for the prices on dell.com they are kinda overpriced but I can price match them with amazon, newegg, bestbuy, etc.

I was asked to prepare parts list for Machine Learning PC with budget of $1200 (roughly, real budget is 5000PLN which is bit over $1300 but prices in Poland may vary from US). So, here is part list of the build that I prepared: Main requirement was dual GPU for Computer Vision ML applications but with that budget I moved to single GPU with option to upgrade later down the line. But still couldn't go too high and I have chosen RTX 2060. Other parts are meant to stay as they are but still provide ways to upgrade (hence 850W PSU). So there are 2 slots for more RAM left, enough power for second GPU even along with more powerful CPU. Went for fast AF main storage M.2 NVMe SSD with 500GB to keep currently used data sets and 2TB HDD for long time storage of those. If there is something wrong, any overkill part, compatibility issues: please let me know. If there is anyone that does ML and has any advice feel free to roast me, I think advice would be most appreciated regarding GPU choice (keep in mind target dual GPU setup).

Hey everyone! I RMA'd my EVGA RTX 2060 XC Gaming card a couple months ago due to micro-freezing, and that issue is now fixed. But I've only just realized that the new card has a REALLY squeaky coil whine. It's been like that since I got it, but I've never taken too much notice about it, as I've always got my headphones on in games. I was setting up a Minecraft server today and couldn't bear hearing the whine. I've tested other games and they mostly the same. I can also hear some whine in benchmarks too. Do I just have to deal with it? media.io_20190428_135542[1].mp4

(Fairly) Recent Build, GPU not performing as expected...
RascalJack posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Hi all. I built a new PC about 3 months ago, upgrading from an i5-4690k and a GTX 970 to a Ryzen 5 2600 and an RTX 2060. I've been using the PC for gaming and daily tasks, but since the beginning I feel like I haven't been getting the results I expected. Watching benchmark videos of people with the same or very similar PC specs makes me feel like I'm not getting the most out of my system. Specifically, I feel like my GPU is underperforming. My CPU seems to do just fine and has never reached more than 80% usage in any core that I've seen, but my GPU reaches 100% usage without even maxing out my 75hz 1080p monitor, even though benchmarks online say I should be getting 90+ fps. What I've tried: Uninstalling old drivers in safe mode with DDU. Setting power mode to max performance. Ensuring that DSR is not enabled in the games I'm testing. Overclocking CPU and GPU. Overclocking memory. Ensuring that GeForce Experience isn't overriding in-game settings. Honestly I'm really confused. The latest issue was with Rise of the Tomb Raider, where the benchmarks I find say I should pull ~90 Fps in 1080p with max settings, whereas I can only get up to ~65 with a mixture of high and medium settings at 1080p. I've also had issues with Rainbow Six Siege, Monster Hunter World, and Destiny 2. Here's my build: Mobo: MSI B450M Gaming Plus CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 @ 4ghz all cores CPU COOLER: Deepcool GAMMAXX 400 GPU: Zotac RTX 2060 6GB (Non-Amp) +115 Core +500 Mem RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) 3000Mhz @ 3200mhz PSU: EVGA 850 GQ 80+ Gold SSD: Patriot Burst 240gb 2.5" HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB CASE: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L Thanks in advance guys!- 2 replies

I'm currently looking for a display for an RTX 2060 (https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-geforce-rtx-2060-gv-n2060gamingoc-pro-white-6gd/p/N82E16814932139). I'm aiming for 1080P at 144Hz and I would like to be able to use G-Sync with a FreeSync display, since they are cheaper. Any suggestions? Should I go higher than 1080P@144Hz? Thanks!

Anybody holding out on buying an RTX vanilla for a super? I don't really feel the value is there for the money. From what I understand they pretty much have a bit more performance than their vanilla counterparts that are factory OC'd from AIB's. Personally, even fancy OC cards only offer negligible performance gains from my experience. I've already cashed out on a 2070 black gaming last week, I guess this could turn out to be buyers remorse if they're real power houses, I doubt that will be the case but only time will tell.

First time posting, long time fan of Linus Media Group. I bought the RTX 2060 Super, and feel it's not adequately cooled. I've tried searching online for a water block, but I can't seem to find anything I would trust. I would greatly appreciate any advice (a youtube video explaining liquid cooling for the new RTXs would be awesome) This is what I have: GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8G Graphics Card, WINDFORCE Stack, 8GB 256-Bit GDDR6, GV-N206SAORUS-8GC My system: Solid State Drives (SSDs) Intel 660p Series SAMSUNG 860 EVO Series Motherboard MSI MEG X570 ACE Gaming CPU (AM4) AMD RYZEN 5 3600 6-Core 3.6 GHz RAM G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series Monitor MSI Optix MPG27CQ 27" Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+ Video Card GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce RTX 2060 Super

Few days ago arrived my ZOTAC RTX 2060. I tried to overclock it in MSI Afterburner with OC scanner and after ~5 mins screen gone black. Then I restarted my computer and tried DMC 5 on high settings (recommended) and after ~20 mins of playing screen gone black for a moment and game crashed without error.(On low settings all was ok even after 2 hours of playing). I tried to reinstall the NVida drivers, but nothing has changed (Game Ready 419.67). Is it possible that the problem is in my insufficiently powerful PSU? (400W) Should i do any tests? The GPU temperature did not rise above 69. Hello. I've recently changed my Palit GeForce GTX 1070 Ti JetStream GPU (which was perfectly fine, i thought it was broken since it was a 2nd hand deal) with an ASUS RTX 2060 RoG OC. So basically, when I changed the fan speed of the Palit GTX 1070 Ti, the PC would make an electrical noise, and then it would shut down. As it may sound like, this is actually not coil whine, nor the GPU's fault, because THE EXACT SAME F@#%ING THING HAPPENED with the BRAND NEW Asus ROG STRIX RTX 2060!!!!!! And no, it's not the power supply, I've had 2 thus far (seasonic 750w platinum and coolermaster V1000 gold) which are perfectly fine. Damn, I've spent 130 euros on a PSU i thought was broken! I STRUGGLED WITH THIS PIECE OF S@#% FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT, JUST TO WASTE 500 EUROS ON A PROBLEM THAT STILL EXISTS! Please, I need urgent help.

Hi, I have an issue with my windows 10 build, and I was hoping for some feedback. I recently upgraded my graphics card from a GTX 1060 to an RTX 2060. The other day I wanted to benchmark my graphics card using Port Royal on 3D Mark and was told that my current Windows build (1803) does not allow for this benchmark to be run. Yesterday, after updating Anthem, I wanted to try out DLSS with the game, and the option is greyed out. From some cursory investigation it is clear that both issues are related to the fact I am not running Windows 10 build 1809, which has not yet updated in my system. Further digging around revealed that Windows 10 has probably "chosen" not to update to build 1809, because one of my PC components is not yet optimized to that version of Windows. I don't want to force an update that could potentially screw up my system and make me rollback the update or do a fresh install, so as you may understand I would rather do my due diligence before I do that. I am running a: Intel i5 8600K 16 GB of DDR4 G.Skill Jaw.Rippers 3200 MHz Gigabyte RTX 2060 Windforce OG MSI Z370-A Pro Mainboard Samsung EVO 840 256GB SATA SSD - For the OS, Steam, Origin etc. 1000GB WD Green WD10EZRX Intellipower 64MB 3.5" (8.9cm) SATA 6Gb/s - For storage 480 Watt be quiet! Straight Power E9 CM Modular 80+ Gold Windows 10 Home edition v. 1803 Does anyone know if any of the components above have known issues with build 1809, or point me in the right direction. Many thanks in advance! R.

Hi I’m new to pc gaming and I thought I would be a good idea to overclock my gpu for extra performance. I have +145mhz on core clock +800mhz on memory clock my questions are; can this harm/damage my Gpu? and is this a good overclock?

Hello, so i've been thinking about upgrading my GPU, the idea is to either get a GTX 1660 ti or get a RTX 2060 and later (a couple of months to get enough money) also get an i7 (4770/4790) in case there's too much bottleneck. The reason i wanted a 2060 is because it would allow me to utilize better my fullHD 144hz monitor, but apart from the possible bottleneck there's also the problem that my monitor only supports 144hz trough a DVI-D dual link cable (i tried using a HDMI 2.0 cable and it only sees it as 60hz) and all modern GPUs only have Display Port and HDMI no DVI. What do you recommend to do? Here's the current setup: CPU: Intel - Core i5-4590 3.3 GHz Quad-CoreCooler: Cooler Master - Hyper 212 EVOMB: MSI - H97 GAMING 3 ATX LGA1150RAM: Corsair - Vengeance LP 16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR3-1600 GPU: MSI - GeForce GTX 960 2 GBSSD: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 120 GB 2.5"HDD: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPMCase: Zalman - Z11 Plus ATX Mid TowerPSU: XFX - 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATXMonitor: Asus - VG278HV 27.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz

Hey PC people, I have built a new rig with the below components except for some old drives and my old PSU. The GPU is the newest addition and from when I added it, there is a burning rubber smell whenever I am playing some intense games (like Anthem @ 1080p -vsync on (60 hz) - Ultra settings. Also to note, the graphics card temp goes to around 72-81 degrees Celsius during those game sessions. Also, rarely the PC just shuts down without any notice some times. ASUS ROG Strix Z370G Gaming (m-ATX) Intel Core i7-8700K @ 4.3GHz Hyper T4 Cpu cooler 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance @ 2400 MHz MSI Ventus XS OC RTX 2060 (this is the newest component) Samsung 970 Evo NVMe SSD 250 GB Samsung 860 Evo 2.5" SSD 250 GB 2x Internal HDDs 2x External Powered HDDs 1x External Portable HDD Corsair VS 550 PSU Also I only have 2 120mm case fans, 1 in front and one in the back. I am planning to add 2 more, 1 in front and 1 at top back. I have been looking at some forums and I noticed that some ppl were saying it could be the problem with PSU not able to handle the power demand. Could anyone point me to where to look at for the problem? Also to note, the burning smell I am talking about came when I smelled the graphics card out of the box as well. But it did not fill up the room until it got heated up. Note: Thinking it could be heating problem, I have overridden the GPU fans to run 100% always and added the temp limit at 72 C(from 84C default). Will it cause the fans to die soon? Regards, Me

i recently got ASUS RTX 2060 GPU and i get low FPS on it My Specs i7 -4770k intel DH87MC 2 x 8GB RAM DDR3 Corsair Vengence RTX 2060 Cooler Master 500watt PSU 500gb SSD i had gtx 760 before and i used to get more fps with it. i dont think its CPU bottleneck coz my cpu utilization is around 40-50 or max 60% but my GPU utilization is 40% max and usually in 30% range. even in high end games like PUBG where as my GTX 760 used to have 99% gpu utilization is my 500 watt psu not sufficient ( its 5 yrs old ) or it could be any other issue ? plz help !

Hello everyone I am looking into buying a new graphics card, and I decided upon the RTX 2060, but seeing the recent drops in prices for the Vega cards, I was interested in a Vega 64. Problem is, I like the NVidia software and stuff, so I don't know if I would want to use the AMD software. Also, I use an Intel 9900K, so I don't know if performance will be different. Anyways, the Vega 64 is about $60 cheaper, so should I get that instead? Thanks, Shinion

So don't know if this question would go here or in the GPU section but here goes. I'm finally around the point where I can build a custom loop, so building a parts list. I am wondering if anyone here knows how similar the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2060 OC PCB is to the other ASUS ROG Strix RTX line and if a waterblock for the 2070 or 2080 flavor would fit and function on the 2060? I'd love to include the GPU into the line, and from looking at PCB layouts online the look very similar but I have zero experience with water-cooling. Currently don't see a waterblock available for the 2060, and I'm aware that a waterblock isn't going to do a ton for thermals for a mid-range card, but a consistent look in my build would what I'm shooting for. Any thoughts, insights or confirmation/damnation of the question?

So i started working on my new build and please excuse the dirty radiator it hasn't been used in about 3 years from an older build. Been working on dry fitting parts and cable management getting things as clean as possible. Also still waiting on GPU, CPU and some 45 and 90 degree fitting also raystorm amd mounting bracket as i only have the intel version. Thinking about spray painting the radiator white after i clean it up. Specs do not include 360mm xspc rad and D5 pump as i already had those. Hey everyone I was wondering if I should get an RTX 2060 Gaming Z from MSI or a mid-range RTX 2070. I know it's not worth the extra money performance wise, but for 144hz 1080p gaming, is 6GB VRAM enough? I mostly play e-sports titles if that helps. Thanks, Shinion
