Hi, I have been running Cyanogenmod 11(CM11) 4.4.2 on my Find 5 a few months ago, but after a while, I went back to the stock ColorOS ROM because reasons. Now, everytime I try to install any 4.4 Kitkat based custom ROM using TWRP, the installation fails.I have tried installing a new Kernel for 4.4(which I have never used before for installing Kitkat and the installation went perfectly fine) and that still doesn't work for me.Also in some apps that require root access I am told that my device is not rooted, when in fact I have rooted my phone... Any help would be greatly appreciated Also I would be glad if someone could link a tutorial on how to root the device because the method I found doesn't seem to be working, and a stable 4.4Kitkat ROM.Thank you!

Just a week before the release of Oneplus One in India, Cyanogen announces exclusive rights to Micromax. So no updates for indian users of oneplus one for cyanogen. The link- https://oneplus.net/blog/2014/11/a-letter-to-our-indian-users/ This week, we announced that the OnePlus One will finally launch in India on December 2, 2014. This has been a long time coming both for our Indian fans, who have been incredibly patient, and everyone behind the scenes who have been working towards this moment since June. OnePlus and all of our partners, including Cyanogen, have put countless hours of work into making this launch a success. Just last month, on October 7, Cyanogen released the 38R OTA update which included SAR values inside phone settings to comply with Indian regulations. Therefore, it was surprising and disappointing to hear from Cyanogen on November 26 that they had granted exclusive rights in India over the Cyanogen system to another company. Prior to this, OnePlus and Cyanogen have successfully cooperated to release the OnePlus One or carry out commercial operations in 17 countries and regions (including India). It is truly unfortunate that a commitment we both made to our Indian users will now not be upheld. The One will continue to be supported globally and receive frequent OTAs. In fact, the next update will pack some surprises with which we think you’ll be very happy. Cyanogen has unequivocally committed to continuing this global support and we look forward to working with them for another year on continuously improving our device. But today, we address our Indian users who may feel disappointed or deceived. We can’t explain Cyanogen’s decision because we don’t fully understand it ourselves. But we can explain exactly how we’ll continue offering our fans in India an amazing user experience and support for this device. OnePlus was founded not even a year ago and we have grown and evolved immeasurably since then. But our priorities have never wavered: our product and our users. Over the past year, we’ve often reflected on ways to better serve both. Those reflections led us to start developing our own Android team, as we’ve previously announced. That team was put in place originally to build the software which would power our future devices. So, though it’s not what we originally planned, we have shifted engineering efforts to the OnePlus One upon hearing this news. According to our current estimations, we’ll be able to release our first community build to our Indian users next month and have a production-ready build in February. Our system will be based on Lollipop, and will be built to be stable, fast, and lightweight. True to our original promise of putting user experience first, it will be bloatware-free and only carry the features important to our users. We appreciate the work that Google has put into Android, and we have no plans of departing from Material Design nor adding unnecessary customizations. We can’t wait to hear your feedback and to build it together with you. We will commit to at least two years of support for the OnePlus One, starting from the release of our first community build. When our system reaches a production-grade build, we will identify where larger clusters of our users are, and set up stations where we’ll meet you face to face and help you flash your existing OnePlus One to the new system. Of course, we will also offer online instructions for those who prefer to flash their devices from the comfort of their homes. As we fast approach the first anniversary of OnePlus, we’ve been looking back on the past year. Our experiences have made us think hard about what’s really important in life, what culture we want to build, and what legacy we want to leave behind. These are difficult questions that we’ll need more time on. But at the very least, we want to remind ourselves to think long term, while always doing good by our users, partners and employees. We’re extremely excited and confident about the team we’re building for our future system. We want to hear your feedback during a Reddit AMAA we are planning to host on /r/Android on December 5. Thank you for accompanying us on our journey, and thank you for your support. See you there! Never Settle. - See more at: https://oneplus.net/blog/2014/11/a-letter-to-our-indian-users/#sthash.fsxkd2qg.dpuf

Hi all, I'm relatively new to rooting and ROMs so it all seems a bit overwhelming. I have two phones that I would like to root and put a custom ROM on. It's just there are too many choices, so I hope to get some suggestions. First one is the Galaxy S3 (european version, international?). I need a ROM that is primarily stable and lightweight, that favours battery life over overblown features. I'm not going to be the one using the phone. The stock phone is just getting super slow and unstable. The second one is an HTC One (m7) that I'm going to be using myself. I'm open to suggestions here. I actually like the sense 6, so I'd love to try one that has it built in. I'm not fanatically attached to it, so any suggestion would be welcome. In any case feel free to suggest anything you think would be good, as long as you include at least a few words on why that is. I won't be considering "stock android because stock is best. period" kind of arguments. Thanks in advance!

I'm a new android user. I really don't know much about rooting or custom roms so my first question is, What is the best Custom rom for the HTC One? And will installing a custom ROM mess with my unlock? I got an unlock code from at&t and waiting for my Sim to arrive. Completely different question: I bought all the expansions for Plague Inc and non of them download. I wasted $10 and already contacted the developers and I didn't get a reply. How do I go about getting my money back?

Hey, I have a quick question about installing a certain ROM on my S4. I have the international LTE variant of the Galaxy S4 (jfltexx) and I was planning on installing AOKP rom on my phone. AOKP Rom is available on all US carriers (T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, and Cricket) but I have the unlocked international version (i9505) so I was wondering what would happen if I installed one of the carrier roms onto my phone.

Okay so I'm using CM11 nightlies on my LG G2.. and I need some help using the updater. Basically with the G2 (Sprint LS980 version) if you want to use 4GLTE and take advantage of 'sprint spark' you have to flash either the furnace kernel or dr87's kernel on top of CM11 to get it to boot. So when I tried to use the updater, I obviously got stuck in a boot loop =_=. So I flashed the dr87 kernel and BOOM it booted! So it said updating apps...please wait... and everything looked fine until it started saying android.service.com (or something similar) has stopped working. So I flashed back to stock using TWRP and now I'm just curious if I can even use the autoupdater on the G2 until CM11 patches the LS980 kernel? THANKS

I just rooted my g2 and I'm tired of waiting for Verizon's bloated version of the 4.4 update. Where and how can I get it. I'm now to the whole rooting thing so simple would be better.

If you got an i9505, SGH-M919 (T-Mobile) or SGH-i337 (AT&T) Galaxy S 4 and want pure Android then you are in luck. janjan on xda-developers has just uploaded a ROM which works almost 100%. The IR Tx/Rx even works if you simply install "Smart IR Remote for Galaxy S4". Link here: ROM Google Edition galaxy S4 rom for i9505[Pure Nexus Experience] on xda-developers Someone is also trying to make the stock Galaxy S 4 camera app work on the Google Edition ROM, but it's currently quite buggy: Samsung Camera For Pure Nexus Rom's! Are you going to flash your Galaxy S 4 to this ROM? Are you going to use stock or something like Cyanogenmod instead?

So I used the Cyanogenmod installer to install Cyanogen on my S2, but now I would like to install another rom(I am open to suggestions) as I am feeling adventurous, so I was wondering, does the Cyanogen installer already unlock the bootloader and root the phone? Since I have root access and I have the recovery option. So basically, I just want to know if I can just install the Rom itself, since I used the Cyanogen Installer, or if I need to do something special before that.

I rooted my phone (Sony Xperia Tipo) about 2 months ago, and this morning, i decided to install the jb mini project rom. This was my first time trying something like this and I somehow messed up. So after installing the rom, whenever I power it on, it goes to the Sony screen like it always used to, and then it goes to a jb mini project loading screen, and that just keeps going and going. I can't access recovery mode, so I can't run my stock rom backup that I made before installing jb mini. I tried everything I could find on the net, and nothing worked. U tried flashing the stock firmware with flashtool, but it gets an error every time... I don't know what to do, and I really need this phone. Please somebody help me!

Hi guys, I just want to get your opinions on stock ROMs and custom ROMs. I know that most people will root their Android phones, but not many people will install custom ROMs. i recently gave in to the temptation and installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 on my LG Optimus 4X HD because it apparently brings better performance and more customization options. However, from the moment I installed it my phone felt very laggy and sluggish. The launcher that came with CM 10.1 was incredibly slow and was definitely running under 30FPS. The pull-down notification bar was very choppy and not buttery smooth like it was on the stock ROM. My phone has a quad-core Tegra 3 processor so I don't think it is a hardware issue. Also, I don't see what customization options a custom ROM has given me. I can't even move photos from one album to another on the gallery app that comes with Cyanogenmod, whereas I could easily do it with a few taps on the stock LG ROM. Aside from that, when I take photos with the front facing camera they are saved flipped instead of the way I took them, so I end up sending people mirror images on Whatsapp. This has never happened on the stock ROM and so far I cannot find a way to fix it. With all these weird bugs and lack of noticeable performance enhancements (quite the opposite, in fact), I have decided to go back to the stock ROM which worked flawlessly for me in the past. Just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions

I was installing a new rom on my android phone (htc sensation), and I looked up some videos about different roms etc, but there isn't much out there to be honest. So I was thinking I would like to see some videos of @Linus and @Slick trying out different roms, maybe some sort of weekly iSwitched with like the roms that are available for most phones (android revolution, cyanogenmod, AOSP, Miui,...) What do you guys think?

First things first; I'm not a phone guy. Onwards. Long story short. I recently rooted my s2 (i9100), things went well and I'm currently running RootBox 4.1 on a CyanogenMod kernel. I like the features and all but I could definitely survive without most of them, especially if it were to get me better battery life. So my question is whether there are any specific roms or kernels I should be looking at for this, and whether or not it might be beneficial to go with ics as opposed to jb?

Guys, i need your help! I got the HTC One, and i flashed a custom rom onto it. I used the recovery "TWRP" (i think it is called). I regret this decision and flashed a copy of the original onto the device. This is not what came with the phone, just a similar looking copy (It was in chinese before i changed the language) The problem is the following: I need to send it for RMA and i'm afraid they will not accept it, due to the non-original software. I haven't found out how to completely factory reset the phone. Anyone know how to wipe it completely and restore it fully? When i go into bootloader and click "Factory reset" it throws me into the recovery tool. And there is no back up of the original software. (I somehow deleted it. f*ck) Help is much appreciated! cheers,

This is for SGY GT-S5360T owners in New Zealand (Possibly Aus too) who when attempting to install a custom rom, there phone's orientation changes by 90 degrees, this means that when the phone is held in portrait in thinks it is in landscape, this also flips ALL photos and videos taken around and quite frankly id had enough. So i have extracted the necessary Sensor/Wifi/Camera/GPS and a few other drivers from the Stock Telecom NZ Firmware, and packaged them up into CWM flashable Zip's (unsigned). Below is the link to mega.co.nz where i have uploaded the files. You will notice that there are TWO files to choose from, dhd1.1_SENS.zip Is a full package including wifi drivers (For WHITE XP Kernel) and SENSOR_UPDATE.zip Is the Sensors and a few other essential drivers from TNZ Stock firmware. https://mega.co.nz/#F!1dJ23KyZ!ZT5UwCAZI-Ew--5uHYn64Q I decided to share this here (and on xda too) because there is NOT alot of info out there concerning this, maybe NZ's position on the globe and respecting magnetic poles of the earth are different here, therefore confusing foreign ROMs as to their orientation. Either way i figured it out =D Now i can sleep knowing my photos will be in their correct orientation.

Hello, I've never rooted an Android device before, so I just need a bit of help. First of all, I read this article: http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/04/how-to-root-the-samsung-galaxy-note-ii/ Does that seem right to you guys, accurate, because if it is I will follow it letter-for-letter to root mine. Secondly, what ROM will you recommend? I understand that ROMs allow for customisation, total control and also some performance. All I really want to do is remove the default bloat shit but still be able to install any apps weather they're on or off the play store. I have no preference towards any kind of ROM so any suggestions and a reason why would be really helpful. Thanks, Josh
