Dear LTT forum, A few months ago I purchased a 1080 Ti ROG Strix OC by ASUS. I hadn't worked it much until recently, and just discovered that the card is making strange hissing and whistling noises when pushed. Here you will find a video containing the issue. I am familiar with coil whine (and I find it completely unacceptable at this price point) but I'm not sure whether that's what's actually going on, or if this is capacitor squeal (in which case the card is bound to fail sooner rather than later and should be replaced or refunded as soon as possible). Before I contact the retailer to RMA it, I'd like your opinions, based on your experience, in regards to whether these noises are normal or not. Bear in mind that the card is inside a case made by BeQuiet! so it has solid noise dampening, yet the card still manages to be audible through it. I'll also forward this to the ASUS ROG forum itself once they activate my account (it's brand new so I have to wait for their approval before I can post there). Thank you for your time. P.S: In order to clearly hear the noise, I recommend using headphones and turning the volume up. Edit: Re-uploading the video due to an error. Edit 2: Video's back up. Sincerely, RJ

I currently own a ROG GL503VS. I want to get the most out of my rig. I currently applied a -125mV undervolt to my CPU and overclocked my GPU by 200MHz on the core. My GPU temps are 83C and my CPU temps average on 83C as well. I benchmarked my CPU with Cinebench and got 710. In 3D Mark Firestrike, I got 13000. I wish to improve my system further. Do you guys have any suggestions? Specs: i7-7700HQ undervolted -125mV GTX 1070 OC to 200MHz 8x2 2400 RAM 240GB Nvme SSD for a boot drive 525 gb sata ssd for a secondary drive

So I now have the Asus Thor 1200w installed it it works great and looks great. However I can't figure out how to control the RGB leds. I have an MSI motherboard, MSI Gaming M5 Z370. There is a RGB labeled cable that followed with the PSU, but i dont think it will fit anywhere on my motherboard (it would probably fit on the fan headers but dont wanna fry anything). How can I control the Aura RGB's on my PSU? Currently its permantely red.

OK I know that this matter is widely discussed already but I am at a loss... Got a 9700K yesterday on an Asus ROG Z390 H Gaming with the latest bios version, dated yesterday. With default settings or auto or whatever, the CPU doesn't go beyond 3.9GHz in any Windows situation (gaming, AIDA64 etc). I have tried -almost- anything in BIOS disabled and enabled all the relevant options (asus multicore, 5G OC setting, TPU, C states etc), the only thing that seems to work is disabling SpeedStep and Speed Shift options which allows the CPU to work -constantly though- at 4.6GHz max. 4.9 or 5GHz are out of the question I don't know if there is any way to see these numbers. For starters I only want boost to work as intended and not get the stupid limit of 3.9GHz. Hell, my i7 4790 boosted at 4GHz... Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

[Problem] Hello GuysI have been using this laptop for quite some time but i am facing a weird problem which i don't really seem to get a solution of.When i am gaming it goes great but sometimes when a game (Any game) is running my screen gets frozen and then after 2 seconds it becomes white....that it.Only way to get out of here is to force shutdown by keep holding the power button until laptop turns off n get it to boot which isn't a safe way to keep doing.[Counter Measures]Have taken following actions: Monitored my temps Both CPU GPU (range 60 to 75*C) Installed all latest drivers Multiple malware scans show no sign or virus infection SSD And HDD Both are healthy at 100% Ran multiple Memory , CPU and GPU benchmarks (Firestrike,Prime95,memtest64 etc) all showed my system more than capable of taking heavy load without any problem. [Specs] Laptop Model : Asus Rog G752VSKi7 7700HQ 2.8 GHz16 GB DDR4 Ram1 TB HDD 7200RPM256 GB SSD samsungNvidia Gtx 1070 8 GB If someone went through something similar or know whats causing these white screens please help. Thanks in advance

Hey guys! a friend of mine bought a used PG34 for 100 dollars. it wont oc to 100hz (only 80) and there are some dead pixels in of the corners (a few lines of pixels upwards and sideways) Is it possible to rearange the displays default resolution? he wants to use it as a monitor for for his pc And for his xbox. on pc he can rescale the resolution no problem. but that he cant do on the xbox (connected via hdmi, giving default resolution) on the old Crt's i remeber u could resize and place the image trough the screen setting menu, but on these new ones it does not seem to have a similar setting. does anyone know if there is any way to acces a hidden menu for the PG34, or any program that does let u alter these types of settings? Any help is much apprichiated!

Hi, I have good experience in building air cooled PCs but I never built a liquid cooled one. So I need some help picking a case that does everything I want from it. I currently use the Coolermaster Masterbox 5, so something similair to that one would be great. 1- It has to fit a 3 120mm AIO block on top. 2- At least 3 in the front for air flow and one in the back. 3- Aura sync compatible. 4- Tempered glass side and front, so I can see the RGB fans. 5- Preferrably silent and not as loud as my current Masterbox 5. And if you could suggest some good Aura sync AIO coolers (don't need RGB fans since I can replace them), that is able to cool my i7 8700k @5GHz it would be awesome! Price sould not be an issue! Also I found out about the ASUS Strix case and wondered if it would be worth waiting for the release, since I also thought about getting the ASUS ROG Ryujin 360 since Im a huge asus fan.

hi, I am here to ask for some advice regarding my motherboard. this is more of a "help me decide what to do with this board" type of thread so any thought/opinions are welcome. so I have a motherboard that I got off of Craig's list a, few months ago and I was planning to do a build with it and sell it to make some extra money. but when I looked it up on eBay to check if I actually got a good deal I couldn't find any of them up for sale at any price. so now I am wondering if it would be worth more to just sell the motherboard by itself instead of doing a build with it. the motherboard is a rog rampage iii gene x58 board and the only thing wrong with it is one of the tabs on one of the ram slots is broken off.

I'm trying to overclock my 7820x to 4.9 GHz. So far, I'm doing a stable 4.85 GHz but if I try a 4.9 GHz the system becomes unstable. If anyone has this chip and overclocked to 4.9 or anyone else who can help, what settings should I take a look at again? I use a corsair H150 Pro RGB AIO andf temps are at around 73 doing 4.85 on all cores when I did a stress test. PSU: Corsair HX1200i Motherboard: ROG Rampage VI Extreme I have bets placed with my friends that I can do this. Please help.

Hello everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading to an i9 9900k and was looking into motherboards for the CPU and have to admit i don't know too much about them. I was looking into Asus Z390's and i'm a bit overhelmed with the amount of available boards. Especially when it comes to the price jumps i can't quite figure out why they're so significant (except for that one board that has built in water cooling)... My Question: Is it worth to get the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero instead of the ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E? What are the advantages compared to the Strix board? Thanks in advance for your help and i'm sorry for the garbo grammar. English isn't my strongest skill. Best Regards.

And why? Thank you
