Hi everyone, please help me out. I have an old laptop that I want to upgrade the SSD. The model is ROG GL552VX Intel i7 gen 6th. I want to use 500gb SSD for it. The question is: - Does my laptop support M.2 PCIE NVME if I update the BIOS? - Or I should keep using M.2 SATA? - Can you suggest what good SSD for my laptop? Thank you

Hi All, So after waiting 3 months for my 3900X it finally arrived, so i went ahead and took out the 1600x I had working on bios 0604 in my X570-e motherboard and started up my pc only to receive a 02 error on my motherboard, black screen. I did all the debugging recommended for this checked every cable and connection and couldnt find anything unseated or loose, which wouldnt make sense anyway seen as it booted just fine with the 1600X in, I tried flashing bios (made my 1600X not work anymore ) resetting CMOS, I mean everything, so thought it may have been my processor, I got my friend to try it in his 3600X build using an MB and it worked perfectly .... So I thought Id possibly just buggered the first motherboard by using an 1600X so ran out and grabbed another X570-e, removed the old in with the new and BAM once again 02, is there any known solution or other troubleshooting steps I should be taking? I know the CPU and everything elseworks? Hello everyone.I am going through a somewhat annoying situation.I was using my pc for at least a month after I finished assembling it. The pc does not boot.It all started a few days ago: a friend wanted me to try a hard drive which gave him problems. I decided to do it. When I connected his hard drive the PC was working fine, only slower. After seeing that I could not do anything with the hard drive I decided to turn off the PC and disconnect it. After that the pc has never worked again.I cleaned the CMOS, disconnected and connected everything again. Anyway, what is usually done in these cases. So far the keyboard works and allows me to restart the pc, but the pc does not work. I only get a green light on the board that indicates something is wrong with the boot, or something like that. How do you think I could solve this problem?

Hi Guys, I just got a Asus Zephyrus M GU502GV. This model is specified to have 65W 20V 3.25A PD charging . I tried charging it with a 65W charger I got(non asus), laptop have a PD charging notification pops up. however after 20 seconds it disconnected and no charger is detected. I then reconnect the typeC cable, nothing happens I then tried different combinations of plugging it and unplugging the charger and cable ... no luck. Then somehow it magically connects again for 5 seconds before it disconnects again. (does not charge power off/ sleep / power on) (no led light indicating plugged in) I thought it was my chargers or cables fault. So i tried a 65W powerbank. It charges straight away at the first try. After a few days I charges it again with the powerbank. the same thing happens. Could this be a software problem? Is asus preventing third part chargers? (I am aware of the setting of plugged in, not charging, but this is not it) (No Bios setting thats related to charging) Does anyone have similar problem? If you have similar problem on different laptop please do share your experiences as well Much Appreciated! Ken

I already conntacted the Asus Support, but the guy only told me to reinstall Windows... I hope you guys have a solution which does not include reseting my whole system. 1. Budget & Location I live in the US and slacked on submitting my taxes but since October 31st was the deadline for extensions I just received a very nice refund. Being money I didn't factor into practical expenses I figured I would entertain the idea of treating myself to a new build as I recently have found myself watching LinusTechTips over Hulu. I have never subscribed to anyone on youtube before and actually followed their videos so I figured I'd post here because i'm not sure if I really need a new PC or if I am just trying to be Linus for the day. The wife asked me why I was planning to spend $5,000 on a new PC when there is nothing wrong with my current build. So I have stopped to think and consult you all. I wouldn't miss the money if I spent it on the PC but I could also pay the car off a year early. HELP!! 2. Aim I am a software developer and often work on projects from my Desktop. VMs, compiling, nothing over the top. I own a 3D printer and mess around with CAD. Stream 4k content to PC and Chromecast Ultra. I do some photo editing, graphic design, and light video editing. Honestly my current build has no issues in these areas. I game and yes i'll list what I play: COD: Modern Warfare (This game does not preform well at all on my current build.) Rocket League (Currently can run 4k 144fps or 1080p 240fps) Destiny 2 (Runs fine on default settings) Gears of war (Runs fine on default settings) Minecraft (Runs great on Max settings) Overwatch (Runs good on High settings) 3. I honestly just want to build a more efficient PC that maintains the or betters my current performance (RGB). Ray tracing RTX cards is really what got all this started as i'm still rocking a GTX 770 pushing 4k and 240fps. The 770 has held up nicely but I know it is probably time. My current build performs very well in daily use so if I upgrade I plan to build a machine tailored towards gaming while I use my AMD machine as a server/media center and for light tasks. Call of Duty: MW does not run 50% of the time and below 60fps at 1080p is my main concern time has caught up with my build aside from the class action lawsuit against AMD for their FX 9590 CPUs. I will list my current specs below: Current Build - AMD Build date: 2014 GPU: GeForce GTX 770 CPU: AMD FX(tm)-9590 Eight-Core Processor Clocked at 4.79GHz Memory: 32 GB RAM (31.9 GB RAM usable) Clocked at 667MHz Current resolution: 3840 x 2160, 60Hz Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro ASUS PCE-ACE68 802.11ac Network Adapter 1GBps This PC is a mess as far as the drive bays and PCE slots. Hi everyone! Could really use your input on this. I've been having performance issues with my brand new gaming PC these last few weeks and I have no idea what to do. When I'm playing, or doing anything which requires GPU power, it does not deliver. I have an Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080Ti Gaming card, so it should deliver more than 20fps in Modern Warfare for example. It does unfortunatly not, and I have no clue what else to do - so I'm reaching out to you fellers. What I think is wrong: I believe that the GPU clock is stuck at 300Mhz. (which is shown in the picture below) It never goes above 345Mhz even though it has reached 1800Mhz and beyond before. Maybe my PC cannot switch between 2D and 3D clocking or whatever it is called? My reasoning behind that is simply that enabling "Always 3D Clock" in GPU-Tweak II kind of fixes the issue, but at the expense of heat and screen tearing which is not favorable. I never had to enable this before things went down hill. Since "Always 3D clock" kind of works, I'm assuming this is a software issue and not hardware one. What I've tried: - Resetting the PC and deleting all my files - DDU (Uninstalling the display drivers and reinstalling the newest drivers) - Changing the clock manually (nothing happens) - Enabled the performance choice in the battery settings (Was always on, so toggled it on/off) - Updated all my drivers (Windows, GPU and all third-party apps) Other main specs: CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 32GB Storage: M.2 PCIe storage Has anyone had the same issue? I'm all out of ideas at this point...

Hi Been reading a ton of different posts, here on the forum, reddit and so on regarding the DRAM LED on my motherboard, But no luck in fixing my problem as all the posts are about people being stuck at the DRAM LED but i am able to get past it. My computer have this issue, where i power on my computer i get the orage DRAM LED lighting up on my motherboard asus rog strix b450 i gaming. Then i unplug the power, clear the bios and plug the power back in and then some times the board will now boot with no problem and go into the bios. There i load the default config and "save and reset" and the computer now boots into windows with no problems. Then when i go and shutdown the computer and when i power it back up, it will then have the DRAM LED lighting up again and i have to clear the BIOS and repeart the process before i can boot into windows. Temps are all good and nothing special there. CPU and Memory are all running default config, but have also tried with a config that would fit them ok. NO luck. Things checked and tried ! Tried to use just one of the memory modules i have and then swap it for the other and also used both modules, no luck there. Checked all cables CPU and 24 pin they are ok. Checked the graphics card power and the card it self all ok. Checked the CPU cooler and that i have correct mounting pressure and its ok. Disconnected all but the OS drive. Latest BIOS from Asus Latest drivers from Asus. Config of the system Asus ROG Strix b450 i AMD Ryzen 7 2700X G.Skill Trident Z 2x16 GB 3200MHz (F4-3200C16D-32GTZRX) Asus GTX 1060 DUAL OC 6GB WD Black m.2 NVME SSD 500GB Kraken M22 AIO CORSAIR 450W SF450M Modular 80+Gold The only thing i can think of is that the PSU is to small as some games will crash after some time, like Destiny 2 with the error code "broccoli" that indicate that there was a problem with the graphics card. and so i have ordered a new one that should come tomorrow. CORSAIR SF Series SF600 80 PLUS Platinum 600 Watt But i dont really follow how this should affect the boot of the machine and in any case would trigger the DRAM LED, as i would guess if it where a problem with the graphics card and the power to it the VGA LED on the motherboard would light up.. But i am open to other ideas. Screenshots from CPU-Z and GPU-Z for ekstra information.

Hey guys, I've exhausted almost every site I can find and the Asus website is terrible for FAQ and help -.- My issue is this, I'm in the process of swapping MoBos from a MSI B450 Tomahawk, to an Asus B450-F gaming... Unfortunately she won't boot up or even go through POST with more than one stick of ram in the Dimm slots. She WILL however run with one stick in DIMM_A2. I've tried all configurations the manual recommends(single stick, double, four... Nothing), and this is the only configuration(single stick A2 slot) that will run properly. I've already gone through the process of installing Windows 10, updating all drivers and everything that came on the CD that came with the MoBo. Luckily I haven't started the return process of my old MoBo yet... But I only have until the 7th to start.. And from what I've run into so far... I'm not sure if this new MoBo is gonna be worth it.(long story as to why I'm switching, might make a post about it to see if anyone has suggestions for old one) System: Ryzen 7 2700X Asus B450-F gaming MoBo G.Skill TridentZ 32GB(4 x 8GB) EVGA SuperNova 650 G3 (Unsure if any other info is needed) But any help would be appreciated. Cause I'll be damned if I paid $200 for RAM and can only use 1 stick -.- or If I have to go through the process to return yet another MoBo.

Hey Guys, I Have An Asus ROG G20 With A 240w Power Supply. The Machine Can Take Up To Two Supplies For Up To 400w. But My Question Is, Can I Run A GTX 1660 In It Without Getting A Second Power Supply? The Build Is As Follows: i5-4770 GTX 750 2GB 8 GB DDR3 240w External PSU There Is No Extra Draw If I Replace The 750 With A 1650, As They Are The Same Power Rating. But Would Another 50 Watts Tank The System? If So Where Can I Buy The 180w Add On PSU?

Hello, For nearly a year I've been receiving error code "00" on my Asus motherboard. No POST happens a lot of times but after turning it off and on for a couple of times(Sometimes just leaving it off for a few hours and then turning it on again) it will again continue to work normally. During the time when "No POST" happens, I've tried removing RAM sticks and i still received the same code. I've also taken my computer twice to the repair shop. These people did the same thing which I did. They checked with different RAM (Same Code-00), then they changed the PSU (Which I couldn't because I don't have extra parts to test but still same Code-00). And then they say its a motherboard problem and they need to mess with ICs else my computer wont turn on. Another person said my motherboard is dead and i should buy a new mobo instead. I usually just take the PC back because i know that if i leave it off for a few hours, it ends up working fine(Most of the times it turns on with a couple of attempts). May I know what should I do to fix the 00 error so my computer works fine always? Things I have tried: Resetting the BIOS. Works for a day and then it goes back to Code-00 and after 4-5 attempts of powering On and Off it works fine. Leaving the system on for 10 or so minutes and then retrying (It works most of the time this way). Saw this on a youtube comment once since a lot of people seem to be getting this 00 error. The explanation which the user gave was that the processor needs a bit of warmth. (But again sometimes it doesn't work). Keep in mind, when my computer works it works perfectly. I even tried doing the stress test on CPU-Z and it worked fine. Could it be some major problem still? Specs: MOBO: Asus Maximus vii hero motherboard CPU: Intel core i7 Processor (4790K) LGA-1150 PSU: Corsair VS650 ATX Power Supply (650 watt) RAM: HyperX Memory. 8GB DDR3 (1866 CL10 240 Pin UDIMM) Memory Module FAN: Cooler master Hyper TX3 Eco (Intel LGA 1151) SSD: Samsung SSD 850 Pro Cabinet: Cooler master 912 HAF (Micro ATX/ATX)

So the ga502 has two M.2 ssd slots, mine came with one 3.0 x4 512gb pre installed. This is my first gaming rig and so I'm kinda new to upgrading memory. It has a second M.2 slot that is 3.0 x2 but it seems to be difficult to find 3x2? maybe I'm looking in the wrong places? Any suggestions on 3.0 x2 would be much appreciated! Whats a good brand? Looking to add as much space as I can! Thanks in advance!!

I have an Asus ROG G46VW with an I7-3920xm (ivy bridge with intel hd 4000) and a nvidia 660m. I saw some people use thunderbolt to connect the an EGPU but the thunderbolt adapters they used are out of stock. I was wondering if I could use the EXP GDC Beast 8.5 (m sata version) through my wifi card slot for installing an external gpu (a GTX 1080 in particular)?

Hi all, So... I built myself a completely new computer in July/August this year, and as part of it, I purchased a ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060 OC Edition 6GB (all components for the system were ordered via Amazon UK). Everything has been running fine for the last 3 months, but yesterday my desktop started glitching (see attachment), and now I can't get Windows to load. My main components are: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Gigabyte Aorus X570 AORUS PRO (BIOS: f6b) Corsair CMK32GX4M2D3200C16 Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) Corsair RM850x Thinking it was a driver issue, I reinstalled Windows 10 1903 completely, and was able to get to the desktop. Once WindowsUpdate kicked in and tried to install the NVIDIA drivers, it does whats shown in the video, and freezes the computer. If I switch it off, and back on, it'll get as far as the Windows spinning circles and then black screen and freeze again. I also tried a clean install of Win10 1903/1909 with no internet connection, and tried installing different drivers from NVIDIA's site (v431.60, v431.86, v441.20) but the same thing happens. I even tried using a different power supply (another RM850x from my old build) but the same thing happens. I've exhausted software/hardware diagnostics as far as I can so... is my card dead/dying? I tried contacting Amazon UK's Technical Support, they said to email ASUS (which I have), so I'm waiting for ASUS to reply. Thanks! :) IMG_0165.mp4
