I'm looking at used mobos for my workstation build, I waver between a super small form factor plan & a plan with room to grow. But wether I look at itx or upper teir ATX & eatx/xlatx the two brands that stick out are: SFF: -ASUS ROG STRIX X570-I Gaming -gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO Room to grow: -ASUS ROG Strix X570-E Gaming -gigabyte x570 auros pro, elite, ultra, or extreme What Mobo would you recommend? Is there a substantial difference between gigabyte & Asus?

Hi Guys, I just got my new ROG zephyrus ga502. So I install PUBG and play it for about 20mins, The internet ping spike 500ms and above. then the game started to freezing and lead to crash. I saw the GPU and CPU temp at the ok temp, not even reach 85 Celsius . both hover around 79 -81 Celsius. The game runs nicely at 70fps and above. So what i did at first, 1. try to overclock the GPU, assuming the GPU cause the issue. 2. update the windows 3. Validate the Game files at Steam 4.Update the GPU driver. But the game still crash. Please Help me, Im out of idea already

Hi guys, I have several problems with my new laptop. As mentioned in the title, the laptop is the Asus GA503. The first problem concerns the type-c port. I tried several time to connect my second monitor (AOC G2460PF) with the cable type-c to display port, but when I plug the cable in to the PC, this message appears: Display connection might be limited. Now on On the Asus website, I found that the type-c supports the display port connection and I don't know why but it doesn't work. The second problem concerns the monitor. This monitor is 144hz but when I use an HDMI cable that supports this frequency, the monitor goes only at 60hz. I tried everything In the last two and a half-hours: reinstalling the Nvidia and AMD driver, resetting everything, upgrading all the driver, going in settings and advance settings, hoping that I could have been able to change there the frequency, but nothing at all... The third, and I hope the last problem, is the Nvidia control panel. When I click the Nvidia control panel, the DISPLAY section does not appear and I don't know why. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank y’all for the help!

So by some extreme luck, I was able to acquire an ROG Strix 3080 ti at about twice the msrp. While overclocking, I noticed that my card would go as far as 2130 MHz with max power and thermal target. The cooler was able to keep it under 80C whle running, but the clocks were achieved when the card was not in full load. So far it seems that the cooler handles well under a constant ~440W power, petition to Asus to increase the power to maybe 480W? Asus GPU Tweak II also does not work well with the card. Although the overclock scanner works well, the card would actually perform worse in games rather than synthetic benchmarks with the oc scanner applied. We are talking less than 60 fps in 4K league of legends when msi afterburner does over 240 with max settings. Not an amazing tool to test game performance, but seeing how it does decently in 3D mark firestrike extreme really makes me think that either the card or the software is still not optimized enough.

I have an Asus Zehyrus M GU502GU with i7 9750h (undervolted) and GTX 1660ti. I mostly play games on it so it remains connected to the power supply most of the times but recently while using the device unplugged I've noticed that I'm getting terrible battery life. It has a 76whr battery which used to last me around 6hrs a couple of months back or so. Hwinfo shows that my laptop is consuming 33Watts of power even when the brightness is cranked all the way down, with no applications running and wifi turned off. Nvidia Optimus is properly configured so it's not an issue of the DGPU running in the background and Hwinfo confirms this. CPU utilization shown in the task manager is normal (1-3%) so I am unable to figure out what's causing my laptop's battery to drain so quickly. Please help.

Hey guys this is my first time posting to the ltt forums, I'm hoping if anyone can help. The problem is my asus rog strix scar II will dump its charge after being off for a few hours (The percentage of battery displayed doesn't matter) and then it shuts down. Here's recording of what it does . I got the laptop in august 2019, I've tried getting it sorted with asus, but they only replaced the battery (which I suspected wasn't the issue) and the same issues still persists, I'm currently trying to sort it out with asus but they're being a massive pain in the arse about it. P.s. I have a theory that the battery drain could be due to a faulty LED diode on the ROG eye on the back of the screen, but I have yet to test it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Using an ROG Zephyrus GX501VI and having difficulty with memory clocks. The clock won't even change from 810MHz! It was fine until a few months ago (I went on an indi-game binge and didn't notice when I lost performance. I have since reinstalled windows and done everything I could think of to get the clock to change at all. Everything that had an ECO mode I disabled so it's not that. The battery is removed but it performed well after that happened last year. Anyone have any idea what I could try at this stage? Thanks!

Good evening, After 10 years I finally built my new small ITX computer with the following components. 1. AMD RYZEN 5800X CPU (stock clock speed 3800mhz) 2. ASUS STRIX ROG X570-I ITX Motherboard (firmware has been updated to latest stable version) 3. 2x Corsair 16GB 3600mhx DDR4 (32gb total RAM) 4. Nvidia 1080 8GB GPU (Sorry can't afford the newer ones) 5. NZXT Kraken X53 AIO 6. Cooler master SFX 850 watt PSU 7. 4x Nocuta 120mm Fans (forgot the part number) 8. 1x Samsung 980 PRO 500GB NVME PCI 4.0 9. 1x Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVME PCI 3.0 10. 1x Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD 11. Corsair Commander Pro Fan Hub (for all them fans) 12. Cooler Master NR200 Case (standard) After installation, all has gone through well, I installed Windows 10 Pro and it went through flawlessly, all drivers installed, fan controllers programs installed. The only annoying thing occurring now is that the CPU doesn't stay at stock speeds (3800 MHz) it keeps on boosting up to 4800 MHz according to the task manager in windows and my NZXT monitoring software. All my fan just start to rev up when I'm just browsing the web and even when installing programs. The only options I have touched in the BIOS was adjusting the RAM frequency speed to 3600 MHz and enabled Virtualization that's it. The BIOS does show targeted CPU frequency of 3800Mhz but again windows and several monitoring programs show it boosting up. In this small form factor like this one I would really prefer to not to have the CPU get so worked up. I am new to overclocking or underclocking the CPU correctly. If any one can offer some guidance on how to approach this I would be very appreciative. Thank you very much, Mario

Hey guys I need urgent help. I can't find any solution anymore.. (I actually never found any.) Since couple of days I got a weird problem where my pc crashes while playing csgo. It all just turns off and there is just a red led running on the motherboard. Before I can start it again I have to turn the PSU off and back on after like 15sec. The name of the LED is PLED53001, but I didn't found anything in the manuals about this one. It's like this LED doesn't exist for Asus I really need your help. So I've this ROG GL552VW laptop from ASUS, and ever since I got it, it has had this BIOS admin password. I never really needed those admin settings on my laptop so never really bothered with that much, until now. I need access to the boot priority settings and that falls under the admin settings. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING THAT IS AVAILABLE ONLINE, i.e. o removing CMOS battery o resetting date to a certain date and then in bios pw window alt + r o alt + r in bios pw window (does nothing and inputs an r instead) o every possible combination of the three above o entering password incorrectly 3 times (it's supposed to show a reset pw dialogue. it doesn't. it just freezes everything and you need to restart the PC) So, is there any way to reset it or taking it to ASUS is the only way to go? Is it even possible to reset the password so easily?

SO... I DROPPED IT. my new g14 GA401QM. From 3-4 feets to a concrete ground... Everything seems fine except for some scratches on the main chasis and a misshapen Lid/shattered screen. Now luckily the screen has only a bad area of a size about a thumbnail. From what I see now everything else seems functioning. Where should I look for parts though? I checked asusaccessories and they do not have a screen solution to the new model. I wish I can find a whole lid including the backboard and the screen so I wont have to dissemble the glued LCD and break something else. Is it possible to glue a new LCD screen to a Matrix backboard of a previous model so I can have an LED matrix on the new 2021 laptop?? This is a hell of a project I know, but if it is anywhere near possible I would love to try it this summer. Probably have to stick with it now that I have to finish all the course work on it too. Btw - any good webcam suggestions that aren't too expensive? College student here, need to get on zoom with cams sometimes. Logitech and Razer webcams can easily cost up to $100 for the up-to-date models. Attached photo is the shattered screen.

Dear friends, I'm starting a new project called F-ROG. It is based on the Tower-Mod Asus Z11 case. This is a mITX build and will require a lot of precise measurement and operation. The idea is to make a separate metal frame that will carry the Z11 and the radiator on the outside. This bracket will also have feet due to the reclined position of the case. There will be a lot of making aluminum parts and masks, as well as a special distro / reservoir. I thank ASUS, Intel, EKWB, Patriot VIPER,Seasonic and CableMod for their help. Hardware: Intel i7 11700K Asus z590-i STRIX Asus Z11 Asus Radeon 6700XT (stand by) Patriot Viper 2x32Gb 3600Mhz RAM Patriot Viper M.2 1Tb Patriot SSD 1Tb Seasonic CONNECT 750 CableMOD custom cables for PSU EKWB all water cooling parts and components (The list will be edited later) Thanks for following and I hope you will enjoy the project worklog! neSSa

I started this build with a used ROG Strix B450-F that has worked flawlessly for several months now. I chose a new Athlon 3000G for my CPU/GPU because of the current issues getting a gpu and it was affordable and in stock. I have one stick of 8gb V-color ram (yes I know boooo single channel I'm cheap for now because it should work) PSU is a new Power Flower 850w gold again because cheap and in stock. main boot drive is WD 1T HDD (yeah I'm saving for a SSD) the main purpose of this set up has become test bench for random hardware and oddball repairs. this set has performed great until I swapped in a new to me 5500xt 8gb and booted up the system. I hadn't even connected the HDMI to the GPU I was still running of the CPU and onboard graphics. just wanted to see if the used card would boot. it fails to POST, I get the LED to flash yellow (DRAM) red (CPU) then Yellow and then red again then nothing. the fans all spin the RGB is all on the hard drive is spinning but nothing for video output or continuation of post. this has been a working test bench for months I tried that card in another computer and it works fine so I'm not thinking it was the GPUs fault. I have tried: Known good ram from another computer still no change swapping cables the HDMI and all PCIe And CPU cables (don't have a 24pin laying around extra or I would've swapped that too) I swapped the GPU into all the slots and tried video output from the card incase it was defaulting to that still nothing. I have reset the CMOS multiple times trying to get it to boot (yes when I boot it back up its without a GPU so that the CPU and onboard graphics pic up instead) still nothing I'm worried I have a dead MB or CPU beyond frustrated at this point I would hate to have fried a CPU during a shortage.

So I managed to get a 3080 strix and was wondering about quiet mode vs performance mode. I couldn’t really find a lot of info on this so I was hoping someone here might help. Right now I have it set to quiet mode. I have 3 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans. In borderlands 3 with badass settings at 1440p I max out at 74c. Is this a good safe temp? Other than the coil whine which I can’t fix and have always dealt with it throughout the several gpu’s I’ve owned I definitely appreciate the quiet factor considering how close my pc to me is. I imagine that performance mode would enable a more aggressive fan curve. I had a 3070 FE before this and would max out At about 71-72c. Obviously the 3080 is more powerful and this version comes overclocked so I would imagine this increase in temp is normal. I might be overthinking this but hey that’s who I am lol. Anyway, thank you for any potential help.

I'd like to buy an 850/1000W ATX PSU, and I was wondering about which one should I choose, I checked the "PSU Tier List" and the Aorus one was marked with Gold (Excellent quality), but was on tier B, and it was one of my options, so, which one should I choose between the Aorus 850W Gold, XPG Core Reactor 850W Gold or Asus ROG 850W Gold (Or any other recommendation under 200 USD), and why does the Aorus one it's on "Tier B" if it's "excellent" (Or at least it's marked like that)?

Hi I'm al Ltt fan from Italy , i'm 18 and this is my first time I post on the forum , after watching every LTT video on YouTube I build my system (R3 3100 overclocked at 4.6 ghz 1.35v cooled by an nzxt 120 Aio , gtx 1070 Strix repasted with kryonaut compound and 1.5 mm thick arctic pad on every memory module, msi b550 pro vdc-wifi, 16gb dual channel g-skill egis 3000mhz cl 16 overclocked at 3200mhz 1.360v and this timing 1T 16-18-18-38 , a Kingston sata ssd and a 550w corsair bronze psu). The gpu also is overclocked at 2060 mhz boost and 9150 mhz the memory, I did this aggressive overclock not because I'm fool but because I wanna beat the best 3d mark Time spy score for the same configuration as mine that is 6664 point, the best resault I achieved using this setting is 6542. The system is really cool temperatures without glass side panel are really low around the 50s and 60s for both cpu and gpu so I'm not thermally restricted, what can I do for improve my result and eventually beat 6664 point in time spy?
