In my quest for a G-PON to RJ11 and RJ45 converter, I came across the UISP Fiber XG on the Ubiquiti site. However, it seems to only support RJ45 and not RJ11. Given the necessity for an RJ11 connection in my setup for calling purposes, I'm reaching out to the community for recommendations on alternatives or if there are other products that fulfill both requirements. I've attached a picture for your reference. Your expertise and advice, especially if you've encountered a similar situation, would be immensely valuable. Thank you for your assistance!

Hi I've have just moved and convinced landlord to join me to making separated networks for the apartments. (Just mine and his) and the cable (cat5e) was already made and stretched. But without rj45 connectors. Was wondering if I can I use rj45 cat 6 connectors for cat5e cable?

The RJ11 Phone lines were run with Cat 5e Ethernet cable and they are daisy chained together. Would it be possible to re-terminate them as RJ45, run them into switches, and have internet throughout my house? Possible issues I see with it are total bandwidth (1000Mbps split between every computer on the network) and Ping. Image 1: Shows how 2 ethernet cables are daisy chained together. The pink cable is the connecting wire between the 2 keystones, and the other cables go to other keystones throughout the house. Image 2: Shows an example of how the RJ11 keystones are currently routed. Image 3: Shows what I am planning on doing to allow 1000Mbps internet over that line. Has anyone done something like this? If so what did you do? Also would there be a better way? possibly without using ethernet switches?

Hey guys im new to here. Just trying to get some. I'm currently using a laptop as my device to become a wifi. Everytime i connect to the internet i need to login to my account. But keep in mind that the account only can login with one device. But, only if after 6 hours of inactivity from using the internet account is being logout. So now, my laptop is becoming the wifi for my smartphone. It's kinda wasteful of energy using my laptop as wifi if im not using my laptop. Im Connecting my internet through cable (RJ45) that are source from the wall. The big question is, can I use any router to share my Internet

Hi so my problem is a pretty straight foward one. I have a patch pannel that is filled with cat6 keystones and right now im running entirely on cat5e. What im wondering is since im looking to upgrade to cat6a do I need to replace the keystones or can I still use the cat6? They are female to female keystones nothing fancy.

Hey ya'll been struggling for a while with this hoping anyone with knowledge on this can help. Disclaimer this my first time in 10 years connecting rj45s haha. So we moved into a house a couple months ago that already had ethernet lines run but weren't connected. I decided to connect them up today and figure out which goes to what room. There are 3 cable runs, on the basement end(where my router is) I connected all three to RJ45 plugs and I connected a keystone jack in my home office [insert image here]. The plan was to connect the jacks one after the other so i can identify and label them as i test but none of the basement plugs seem to be giving the jack in my office data. No lights no nothing. Things i've tried: Checking for appropriate contact on the RJ45 plugs (they look to be getting contact) Network cable tester (ordered one online still waiting for it to be delivered, none of my local stores sell one that isn't 100 dollars or above) Not sure if this should be a cross over since its female to male (but i doubt it and haven't tried to do a cross over connection yet) I've attached pictures of all my connectors please let me know if anything looks wrong or anything i could try. Hey Guys, Got a big Problem here: I use 10Gbit every day and I need it. Since last week my switch does not give out 10Gbit anymore. This worked fine before but since last week I have only 1Gbit instead of 10Gbit on the PC. Here are my Specs: CPU: I7-10700F GPU: RX 6600XT Mainboard: Asus Prime Z490M-Plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200MHz Network Adapter: Asus XG-C100C Network Switch: Asus XG-U2008 My internet provider supports 10Gbit and so does my modem. If I connect the cable from the modem directly to the PC, I get 10Gbit but if I connect it to the 10Gbit port on the switch and then connect another cable to the other 10Gbit port and connect it with the PC, I get only 1Gbit on the PC. If the Port on the switch is blinking blue, it receives 10Gbit data but if its white, it only receives 1Gbit. Check the Picture All Cables are compatible with 10Gbit, Drivers are up-to-date and i didnt change any network-settings or cables. I mean ethernet cables that connect to the computer, what are the A and B standards for? I do not mean standards such as foil or mesh screened. I mean standards where cables are arranged according to colors. Yet the ethernet cables are patchy, straight. The patch is probably one RJ45 end connects to the computer and the other, where there is no RJ45 end, connects to the pachpanel? Simple, is it probably where both ends are RJ45?

Hey Linus group, am unable to find an RJ45 splitter that simply doubles the ports from your router. Please point to the techquickie video on this topic in case I missed. My goal is to take one active Ethernet port and use it for two devices that consume internet. Please post products in Amazon that does this. TIA

I am from israel and we use here the british b6312 phone jack. I wanted to know if I can use it for ethernet using a cable from b6312 to rj11 and then an adapter from rj11 to rj45.

hey, i have a question about the connecters for cat6 cables. my house is wired with cat6, but i need to put on the rj45 connecters on the ends with my crimp tool. I was woundering if I NEED CAT6 Connecters, or if rj45 connecters are all the same, and the only thing speed wise for cat6 is the cable its self. Lmk Thanks #LLT

I am doing a bit of home networking and I need some cable crimpers. I am using cat 6 cable, and the crimper I am buying https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008UY5WL0/ref=crt_ewc_title_huc_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A397FHERGRZQ2E , says it comes with cat 5/cat 5e crimp connectors. Do the connectors themselves need to be cat 6 compliant? I would think they are the same because the wires are the same, but i'm not sure.

Hi. Sorry if I'm in the wrong section... After watching "Double or Triple Your Internet Speed - This Method Actually Works!" I started thinking about speeding my connection. At university, if I bought an expansion PCIe ExpressCard 34mm NIC LAN Network Card (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004M18EDI/) and plugged in with a standard RJ45 CAT 5e on the ExpressCard AND my standard, motherboard NIC, would I double my connection speed? Would I need additional software? I would like to note, when I do a speed test, my speed between ~1000Mbps to ~500Mbps for both download and upload. So, how would that work?

Hi all! Straight to the point: In school we have internet on an RJ-45 connector. My IT teacher is a bit disorganised so he ordered two adsl routers (6-pin plug, with 1 and 6 unused). My question is how do I make things work? Someone please explain if those standards are compatible with eachother and if yes, then can you provide a pinout of both connectors so I can rewire things to work. Thanks in advance!

Hi, anyone can provide me a diagram or scheme for the 8 pin mini-din to rj45 cable? I have a Bose ps28 and i can't find the cable that conects the Bose AV28 to the subwoofer, the cable is the 8 pin mini-din to RJ45, so i bought a RJ45 and the 8 pin connector, and i wanna know what's the correct order to weld the 8 copper cables of the RJ45 to the 8 pin connector. Hey guys I recently planned to switch my POE injector splitter to Gigabit to facilitate higher than 100Base-T speeds. Now I am stuck in a weird issue as shown in the below picture I am running a CAT5E cable for about 30ft from my router to a wall RJ45 Socket. From that Socket I run another CAT5E cable to the ISP provided ONT (Image 1) I was using a 100Mbps (2 Pair Passive POE injector Splitter earlier). Now I switched to a Gigabit POE injector Splitter (Image 2) After the upgrade i tested it out in dd wrt Console. And it reported my link speed as 100Base-T. So I resorted to testing it out with a network cable tester (Image 3) I am able to get all 8 pairs connected from the wall socket to my router. I inserted a patch cable from the network tester to the socket just to make sure the socket is not at fault. I am able to get all 8 Wires to light up. I again tested from the wall socket to the ISP provided ONT. Again all 8 Wires Light Up However when I link both these cables from the router to the ISP Provided ONT ( The 8th Wire alone goes blank). Beware that this is all before even the POE comes in. Do you guys have any insight as to why this thing is the case ? Isolated Network Layout (Image 4) Image in below post

Hi, This is my first post. In my company we are working on a new technique which i will not go in to. The data will be exposed over a 10Gbit DA/SFP+ (active copper) connection (vendor-less) but the actual data throughput will remain around 1Gbit/s. FYI there is no server/switch or any networking equipement involved. We need to convert this SFP+ connector to a more common (preferably RJ45 or 1Gbit/s SFP) connector. We are aware of the speed difference but maybe somehow you can suggest something to get around that. From what i found online is that it is possible but the equipment selection is quite vague. Can you guys help me?

I recently built a pc and I want to connect my pc wired, so I bought and Ethernet cable and I found out my connector is wrong in the wall. I have a female BT end and with an adapter to an rj11 I think where as my cable is an rj45 I don't want to make a new socket in the wall so can change the BT socket to an rj45 or can I get an rj11 to rj45 adapter, although I've not seen one.

I have a 50 meter cat5e cable that i presume has a broken connector I am trying to do DIY rj45 ethernet cables and I was wondering if the 50m cat5e cable is the same thing as patch cables. Does anyone also know a good crimping rj45 header for cheap on amazon?

Basically I've moved into a new property. They have ran telephone points in several rooms but the cable is actually rj45. My question is what speeds and what cables do I need to connect? So the telephone line comes in down stairs to my hallway and bt have now fitted a master socket 5C as shown below. In my bedroom there is a wallplate where they have put two RJ11. I want to change one of these to rj45. How will I get an rj45 back into the daisy chain of rj45 from the router point in the hall way? Not sure if I've explained what I want to do that clear. But if you need me to explain more please just ask. Thanks. Also I think the fastest I can get is 100Mbps since I will only be able to use 3 pairs (6 cables) since the other 2 cables are used by the telephone line in of course. 100Mbps will be fine though( I believe it only needs 2 pairs but correct me if I'm wrong)

Hello to everyone on the forums! Hopefully I did not title this topic wrong, or chose the wrong forum. If not, let me begin with what I am trying to accomplish. Basically, I have been building a secondary PC for streaming purposes, and I am finally done. However, the PC is meant to stay downstairs, together with my LAN modem and switch. I had an idea, where with a capture card from my main (gaming) PC, I would transfer the signal, so that the USB cable from the capture card, goes into a LAN extender cable (which I cheaply got off ebay), and then through my network continues down to the streaming PC. When I finally had the chance to test it all out, the capture card wouldn't function properly. LEDs were dimming with darker brightness, and Windows did not recognize the device. It turned out that the voltage going through the long LAN cable is not enough for the capture card to work (about 10-15 meters to be exact in length). So I was thinking, and I believe that this is actually possible, to use a phone charger as a power supply to the capture card with the 2 USB pins that provide power, and let the other 2 USB pins (the data ones) deliver data to the streaming PC downstairs (since through the length voltage is being lost, data shouldn't be a problem). My question is, what is the best way to split this thing and make it work? The cables should look like this: One coming from the charger, and one coming from the LAN extender, and then both combining into one USB where I plug my capture card. The first cable will be power from the wall, while the second will just send the captured video game to the 2nd PC. Hopefully my idea can be accomplished, and is not that difficult to do. CAT8 Ethernet Cables (40Gbps 2000Mhz) ... where have you been all my life! For many years, have run a small home network, consisting of the usual stuff, printers, games consoles, NAS, network switch ,Apple TV's, Amazon Fire TV's etc etc Always like to keep ahead of the game when it comes to overall network and internet speeds. However to my detriment, was still employing CAT5 cabling, which I foolishly thought wouldn't play much of a part in overall network performance...how wrong I was! Saw a good deal on Amazon the other day and snagged a selection of CAT8 cables for our home. OMG what a difference it made! Game latency vastly improved, overall ping rates and network jitter way down! File transfer speeds maxed out and stable, heck even firing up GlobalProtect VPN (I work remotely on Wednesdays) was much snappier. Discuss... anyone else running CAT7 OR 8 cabling? Any tips or tricks to tweak networking hardware to take advantage?

Hey i recently was diggin threw my garage when i found a POS keyboard, KSI-1392. I would like to use it but i don't have a cable, and i'm scared to buy the wrong one. The port on the keyboard looks to be an RJ45. I e-mailed the company and they havent replied for now 3 months.
