In my quest for a G-PON to RJ11 and RJ45 converter, I came across the UISP Fiber XG on the Ubiquiti site. However, it seems to only support RJ45 and not RJ11. Given the necessity for an RJ11 connection in my setup for calling purposes, I'm reaching out to the community for recommendations on alternatives or if there are other products that fulfill both requirements. I've attached a picture for your reference. Your expertise and advice, especially if you've encountered a similar situation, would be immensely valuable. Thank you for your assistance!

Hey Guys, Got a big Problem here: I use 10Gbit every day and I need it. Since last week my switch does not give out 10Gbit anymore. This worked fine before but since last week I have only 1Gbit instead of 10Gbit on the PC. Here are my Specs: CPU: I7-10700F GPU: RX 6600XT Mainboard: Asus Prime Z490M-Plus RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200MHz Network Adapter: Asus XG-C100C Network Switch: Asus XG-U2008 My internet provider supports 10Gbit and so does my modem. If I connect the cable from the modem directly to the PC, I get 10Gbit but if I connect it to the 10Gbit port on the switch and then connect another cable to the other 10Gbit port and connect it with the PC, I get only 1Gbit on the PC. If the Port on the switch is blinking blue, it receives 10Gbit data but if its white, it only receives 1Gbit. Check the Picture All Cables are compatible with 10Gbit, Drivers are up-to-date and i didnt change any network-settings or cables. I mean ethernet cables that connect to the computer, what are the A and B standards for? I do not mean standards such as foil or mesh screened. I mean standards where cables are arranged according to colors. Yet the ethernet cables are patchy, straight. The patch is probably one RJ45 end connects to the computer and the other, where there is no RJ45 end, connects to the pachpanel? Simple, is it probably where both ends are RJ45?

Hey Linus group, am unable to find an RJ45 splitter that simply doubles the ports from your router. Please point to the techquickie video on this topic in case I missed. My goal is to take one active Ethernet port and use it for two devices that consume internet. Please post products in Amazon that does this. TIA

Hi so my problem is a pretty straight foward one. I have a patch pannel that is filled with cat6 keystones and right now im running entirely on cat5e. What im wondering is since im looking to upgrade to cat6a do I need to replace the keystones or can I still use the cat6? They are female to female keystones nothing fancy.

Hey guys im new to here. Just trying to get some. I'm currently using a laptop as my device to become a wifi. Everytime i connect to the internet i need to login to my account. But keep in mind that the account only can login with one device. But, only if after 6 hours of inactivity from using the internet account is being logout. So now, my laptop is becoming the wifi for my smartphone. It's kinda wasteful of energy using my laptop as wifi if im not using my laptop. Im Connecting my internet through cable (RJ45) that are source from the wall. The big question is, can I use any router to share my Internet

The RJ11 Phone lines were run with Cat 5e Ethernet cable and they are daisy chained together. Would it be possible to re-terminate them as RJ45, run them into switches, and have internet throughout my house? Possible issues I see with it are total bandwidth (1000Mbps split between every computer on the network) and Ping. Image 1: Shows how 2 ethernet cables are daisy chained together. The pink cable is the connecting wire between the 2 keystones, and the other cables go to other keystones throughout the house. Image 2: Shows an example of how the RJ11 keystones are currently routed. Image 3: Shows what I am planning on doing to allow 1000Mbps internet over that line. Has anyone done something like this? If so what did you do? Also would there be a better way? possibly without using ethernet switches?

Hi I've have just moved and convinced landlord to join me to making separated networks for the apartments. (Just mine and his) and the cable (cat5e) was already made and stretched. But without rj45 connectors. Was wondering if I can I use rj45 cat 6 connectors for cat5e cable?

Hey ya'll been struggling for a while with this hoping anyone with knowledge on this can help. Disclaimer this my first time in 10 years connecting rj45s haha. So we moved into a house a couple months ago that already had ethernet lines run but weren't connected. I decided to connect them up today and figure out which goes to what room. There are 3 cable runs, on the basement end(where my router is) I connected all three to RJ45 plugs and I connected a keystone jack in my home office [insert image here]. The plan was to connect the jacks one after the other so i can identify and label them as i test but none of the basement plugs seem to be giving the jack in my office data. No lights no nothing. Things i've tried: Checking for appropriate contact on the RJ45 plugs (they look to be getting contact) Network cable tester (ordered one online still waiting for it to be delivered, none of my local stores sell one that isn't 100 dollars or above) Not sure if this should be a cross over since its female to male (but i doubt it and haven't tried to do a cross over connection yet) I've attached pictures of all my connectors please let me know if anything looks wrong or anything i could try. I built this PC day before yesterday and put a clean windows install on it. It posts, runs, and the first night it had internet access. Ever since then, my internet access has disappeared. Still hardwired. The yellow stays light blinks slow and steady while the green status light stay dark. My wifi is still working fine, and when I plug the same cable into my Xbox it has internet access. I am lost! -
I've been in my apartment for 12 years now and never bothered checking what was behind my RJ-11 wall jacks. I recently did, and found Cat 5e wires, so I ran to my cabinet where my cable comes into, and pulled 4 Cat 5e cables out of the wall! I got super excited, purchased a bunch of RJ-45 keystones, and am waiting for them to arrive. In the meantime though, I pulled out a few of these just to see if they were all wired up, and they are, but I found one that is causing my brain to hurt. I'm hoping someone in here can give me some ideas as to why I found a Cat 5E cable and a Cat 6 cable spliced together, and then further spliced into another Cat 5E which was hooked up to this one wall jacks keystone (photos below). Any ideas at all would be appreciated! I'm pretty sure no one will know for sure, but maybe you've seen something like this before, or done something like this before that can help me narrow down the purpose. I'm posting some pictures to help understand whats going on. In the first picture, I removed some of the tape that was holding all these together so you can see what's been done. The brown stranded and solid wires were not connected (since it was hooked up to an RJ-11). Picture 2 is how I found it, but only after I already cut off the RJ-11 keystone. As you can see there is a Cat 5e that comes out from the box, and a Cat 6 that comes out from the box, and they are spliced together to the one cat 5e that was connected to the keystone. I can't find a Cat 6 cable anywhere else in the apartment, and I even went down to the basement and couldn't find a Cat 6 anywhere in the basement cabinet. I'm pretty sure I can just get rid of the Cat 6 since it doesn't come into my cabinet. I'm waiting for my RJ-45 tester to arrive since I'm not a pro and didn't have one, but in the meantime I just connected the brown wires to keep everything the way they were (see photos below). I believe it should work this way too, but I'd prefer to get rid of the cat 6 since this happens to be the outlet that would be connected to my home server, so I don't want to risk any issues. Any advice would be appreciated! -
I am from israel and we use here the british b6312 phone jack. I wanted to know if I can use it for ethernet using a cable from b6312 to rj11 and then an adapter from rj11 to rj45.

hey, i have a question about the connecters for cat6 cables. my house is wired with cat6, but i need to put on the rj45 connecters on the ends with my crimp tool. I was woundering if I NEED CAT6 Connecters, or if rj45 connecters are all the same, and the only thing speed wise for cat6 is the cable its self. Lmk Thanks #LLT

For over a year I have been using CAT7 S/FTP in my home and every time when I run a new cable I wonder.. Does it really matter what type connector I use? I got Draka cat7 cable because I wanted to be future prove “better do it right the first time”. While the cable was easy to get, the LSA / RJ45 connectors just weren’t there. So I used CAT6a LSA wall outlets / patch panels and CAT5e RJ45 connectors. Even now it´s hard to find CAT7 rated products, and if you find them the price knocks you over. It gives me the feeling that the “right connector,keystone” doesn’t matter that much. And that it might be possible to get my 10GBe speed (best case) on a CAT7 cable equipped with CAT5e connectors. I would love to test this case, but I don’t own a 10GBe network (yet), so help me out guys. Does it really matter, and if yes, how much does it matter?

if i was to plug in from two ethernet ports in the back of my pc to the same router plugged into seperate ports, would i be able to say download torrents games from steam etc through one connection and stream through another? i get 20mbps d/l on speedtest but obviously a lot less on anything else but it drops more if im streaming (obviously) so would this fix the problem ? just wondering like i said, thanks

Hey, I have a very strange problem. When i go tethered network (does not matter if with an directly connected LAN cable or with a USB-LAN adapter) i see two common problems: 1. When using an Speed test like Speedtest.net i see a short burst in download speed followed by a steady decline. Normal up to 480mbits in the first 20% of the test and then slowly down to ~200 mbits to the end. 2. When i am using by onboard LAN i got only 20-30 mbits download. Upload is just fine with 50mbits more or less constant. I got an Msi MEG Z390 ACE with build in WIFI adapter, if i use the WIFI its fine and the speedtest climes up to 480-500 mbits and just stays there. Now comes to funny part. My pc is joined with my server on a splitter right before it gets to my router. My Server acts just fine with the expected 500/50 every time. I changed the cable from my pc to the splitter multiple times but it did not work. So nether the USB-LAN nor the build in LAN port does bring me constant download speeds. What in hell could be the problem? EDIT: Yes i did try turning off the WIFI Adapter when running the tests over LAN and vice version

Hey i recently was diggin threw my garage when i found a POS keyboard, KSI-1392. I would like to use it but i don't have a cable, and i'm scared to buy the wrong one. The port on the keyboard looks to be an RJ45. I e-mailed the company and they havent replied for now 3 months. CAT8 Ethernet Cables (40Gbps 2000Mhz) ... where have you been all my life! For many years, have run a small home network, consisting of the usual stuff, printers, games consoles, NAS, network switch ,Apple TV's, Amazon Fire TV's etc etc Always like to keep ahead of the game when it comes to overall network and internet speeds. However to my detriment, was still employing CAT5 cabling, which I foolishly thought wouldn't play much of a part in overall network performance...how wrong I was! Saw a good deal on Amazon the other day and snagged a selection of CAT8 cables for our home. OMG what a difference it made! Game latency vastly improved, overall ping rates and network jitter way down! File transfer speeds maxed out and stable, heck even firing up GlobalProtect VPN (I work remotely on Wednesdays) was much snappier. Discuss... anyone else running CAT7 OR 8 cabling? Any tips or tricks to tweak networking hardware to take advantage?

Hey everyone, I recently moved into a new apartment (rental, so I'm limited to pretty much keeping the same network setup), and was happy to see that they had RJ45 data ports in the wall. Unfortunately, when plugging in ethernet cables, nothing is recognized. I've done a bit of digging and some exploring since then, as I'd really like to get this to work. In the closet, there is some sort of a network panel, which looks like the first image below. I have checked all the jumpers, and made sure that they are jumping the "data" pins, and not "voice" pins. I have done the same with two wall jacks (second picture), and jumped the data pins, which the voice pins are left uncovered (there is white plastic covering the voice pins, but they are not jumped). Finally, I have plugged an ethernet cable from my router into one wall jack, and then tried to plug my computer into a second wall jack (both are jumped to data), but nothing gets picked up.... I have also tested each ethernet cable directly into the router with my laptop, and they work. This is really bugging me, as my modem can only sit in one place in this apartment, and it's not where my desktop is. I'm paying for 300mbps down, but at the moment I need to use a powerline adapter to reach my desktop (cannot have cables running over the floor here) and the fastest speed I'm getting from that is about 45mbps down. On a side note, I've never seen network panels like these before, either in the closet or in the wall jacks. Has anyone else. I also see that there are RJ45 ports labelled J1 - J6 in the closet (first picture). Do these need to go into some sort of switch? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I recently got a new fiber internet connection but the problem is the only way i can access the internet is by using the Dial-Up option and manually connecting to the internet. Moreover, when I use Dial up my internet becomes about 5 times slower. I have been occasionally been able to automatically connect to the internet few times randomly when i turn on my PC . I have tried contacting my ISP but they can't seem to find a solution. In the image provided you can see 2 connections : 1 is the ethernet which shows as unidentified and the other is a WAN PPOE which shows up due to connecting through Dial up. I have tried using other DNS, CMD commands and updating drivers but nothing seems to work. Note : I am presently using the company's modem directly without a router.

Ok we know modern consoles need massive drive for games. They usually only take 3.0 external drives but don't allow NAS connections. Is it possible to configure a raspberry pi or arduino to read from a samba server and translate that to read the network drive as usb drive? This seem like a simple hack to getting NAS storage. I don't know of any soft mods.
