There is a previous post on this forum where I was trying to find the cause of the problem where my graphics was showing no signal when I launched some games. I have since taken the card out and found that on one of the pins there was half of the pin missing. Apparently, the pin was used for power so I think when I tried to launch a game the card couldn't get enough power and then stopped providing a video out but if you have any other theories then let me know. The card is an RTX 3070 MSI Gaming Trio X Does anyone know how one would go about fixing this card, whether it is fixable and who I should send the card to?

So I have a mai suprim x 3070 and it gives weird odd glitchy lines on my display but it get resolved after restarting the pc twice or thrice please help what could be the issue in this case

I found this monitor on the streets, I noticed it had glass damage but seemed mostly okay. It's a samsung c27g55tqwr so it's pretty decent, and I decided to see if I could salvage this. Hello, My Basilisk broke about a week ago when I turned it on while having a liquid in or around the sensor(Long story, but i have good reason to suspect the board itself is fine), I have since bought a new one but I have made it a personal project to find a way to repair the old one, mainly just for fun! I found the optical sensor I need as i suspect that is broken, I am currently waiting on a supplier to respond to my query and hopefully ship me one. What i need now is the red LED diod, Does anyone here know what kind of diod i need ? Or is it just any old red led that i can fit? When turned on the screen turns on but there is no output and the fans start to rotate but then stops and then the laptop restarts. One key recovery is not working and has the same result as above. Initially I thought something from bios might have been changed from the failed Linux install so I reset the bios by removing the CMOS battery and all. When turned on it, the screen did not turn on for a few seconds and after turning on it went back to above scenario. P.s I suspect damaged GPU but can I disconnect it and then use the laptop again with only the uhd graphics. Thank you for any input!!!!!

Today my Msi gf63 thin laptop fan is making a grinding sound. I tried restarting the laptop and the sound keep getting louder. I opened up my laptop and found one fan in it. I search for method to fix it. All pointed me to buy a replacement for the fan. Ordered it but took around 1 month to reach my house. I tried to find a temporary method then I come across this : His method is to drill a hole at the center of the fan. Is it okay to use it as temporary method for a month? Is it safe to use it for a long time? Thank you in advance.

Hi all, I've been running an ROG M15 laptop for the last couple months, and so far it's been fantastic. The only issue I've had is that BOTH speakers are blown after less than a year of moderate use. I don't want to RMA it, as I've heard nothing but horror stories about the ASUS warranty process, but I also absolutely cannot find parts for this thing anywhere. Is it too new? Does ASUS just not release any parts for it? I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction, I'd rather just buy some speakers and replace them myself than send it off and wait a month for ASUS to deny the warranty claim.

Good evening, I'm a computer science student and I have a little problem that I can't fix. About a year ago, my first tower computer decided to die in the middle of final exams. So as a good student that I am, I started testing. I tried to disconnect the processor, the ram, the hard disk, and all the components of the board to see if it turned on. The fact was that in the end it was the board, and the only thing I had to do was process the warranty for the computer, which was preassembled. So I decided to build my own computer. The fact is, these days the computer is failing again with the same symptoms as the previous one. And here a question arises, is it possible that in both computers the motherboard is the problem? At the moment these are the symptoms: - Sometimes it turns on and sometimes it doesn't, depending on when it wants. - Once the computer is turned on, it does not give any problem. What do you think? My father was moving his office around and managed to knock over his 2012 21.5 iMac resulting in some cracks across the screen, none of these cracks took any chunks out and is basically just lines in the glass, does anyone have any expericane or suggestions in repairing the glass itself rather than replacement or new device, I was considering using some commercial windshield repair if I have no other option, thank you in advance.

im not sure if i am supposed to put this under this thread but i need assistance. english is not my first language so please excuse any spelling mistakes. I recently bought a second handed 1080ti that will only work when running 100mhz under the standard clock speed. when i run it on a normal clockspeed any slightly graphicly demanding games will crash in a few minutes. Sometimes even when waiting in the lobby. I have an uncle that is a bit better with computers than i am, and he underclocked my gpu by 100mhz. After that the card worked pretty stable, but i do find it very frustrating that i paid a lot of money on a gpu that has to be underperforming to even function properly. I paid abouy 220 euros for the card, since i am 15 this was all my savings. And i have no more money to spend. So i am wondering what has caused this and is there a way to fix this. i have a slight suspicion the seller has used the card for mining, since after the sale to me he kept the advertisement up. After the ad was removed due to the marketplace app removing ads after a couple of weeks. But after that happened he put another listing for the exact same card. When i messaged him he ignores my texts. But when i asked my friend to message him he replied very quickly. My friend asked if the card was ever used for mining, the guy said no, but when i messaged him asking the exact same question he does not even open it. now im not sure if mining is what made this card behave this way. Or if i can somehow get my money back. The temperature of the gpu is around 82 degrees celcius. It sometimes hits 84 but that almost never happens before crashing. Here are some more details about the card and the rest of my pc. GPU: inno3d ichill 1080ti x3 i bought it second hand for 220 euro’s on the dutch marketplace app called ‘marktplaats’. CPU: i7 7700k (previously overclocked to 4.9Ghz but i reversed it when my pc started to crash, it helped nothing.) RAM: 2x 16GB 2400mhz corsair lpx motherboard: Asus maximus viii gene. PSU: not sure about the exact model but it is a 520W XFX PSU Storage: 1x 1TB NVME SSD, 3x 500GB SATA SSD, 2x old 2 TB hdd. i would really appreciate if anybody could help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance. edit: (i forgot to add this) the things i have tried doing these things in order to fix it, but to no avail. i completely removed the nvidia drivers via a program designed to do that. i have reseated the card to the bottom slot of my motherboard when using the pc with the card i previously had (geforce GTX titan x 12gb gddr5) the pc runs fine without any issues/crashes. when a game crashes the screen running the game turns black, the game audio starts sounding like a microwave and after about 20 seconds the game stops and i get an error screen depending on the game. the games i have tested for crashes are: dying light 2 fortnite persona 5 royal. half life alyx. all of these games kept crashing except for half life alyx, which somehow even at high intensity keeps running.

Hi, I am very new to PC building and repair and came to this forum looking for advice. I bought the Asus ROG SWIFT PG349Q monitor and it came damaged and does not have a warranty. I am looking to see where I can find the panel model number or where to purchase a replacement panel for this monitor. I have looked on DisplaySpecifications and it only says that it is a AH-IPS monitor but doesn't give me a model number. I had originally planned on looking up the model number and going to AliExpress to hopefully buy a cheap one as a replacement. This monitor doesn't mean much to me since I bought it very cheap and as an opportunity to learn about monitor repair. Please excuse any technical errors or vague descriptions as I am very new. I have a Metabox branded Clevo P650SE with a failing right hinge, as well as a crack in the screen bezel as a result of this. I was wondering if anyone was aware of somewhere I could buy replacements for these parts? Mostly the bezel, I think I've found a couple of places selling hinges. Edit: I'm in Australia.

Alright so I am am trying to recover data off a WD30EZRX hard drive, I have one that has data and another which is supposed to be for parts. Mechanically I did some tests on the drives and the controller spins it up slows it down moves the arm sensor but the drive fails to be detected on several computers even when I swap out the controller board with the part drives board, they are both undetected regardless of controller board. Anyone know anything else to try? At this point I have tried everything I can think of but it still remains an enigma... I have tried these on Sata 1, 2 and 3, Amd and Intel systems and Sata to USB adapters...

Problem: the plastic construction of my headphones is awful. The white-coloured headband plastic developed cracks after about a month of use (~2h/day, inside my home, while gaming/relaxing on the sofa). So what: the flexing & cracking caused my original pair's wiring to short out. I returned it to PSB & they shipped me a replacement. The PSB 4MU-2 headset started cracking again in the same place. Now what: my first repair incolved gorilla tape (I wrapped over the cracked headband). The hard, black plastic tape made it uncomfortable on my shaved skull! I wrapped it with scraps of clean underwear (ginches) to make it soft against my skin. An improved fix: my awesome knitting spouse whipped up a multicoloured tube to fit over the hard plastic. SUCCESS. My musings: I liked to bitch & moan about the crappy build quality of this brand (used the wirecutter.com review for best $200-300 over-hear headphones [2017 article] and got a lemon). I did the research, bought from an authorized dealer, paid $300-350 CDN, worked with the company's customer service, and still landed up with a poorly built headphone. They sound great. My wife offered a fix, and I can save my money for a Sony MDR-7560 (or something like that). Show & tell: Image 1... gorilla fix & DSS2. Image 2... knitted fix. Image 3... comfy about head (and I stopped bitching about uncomfortable cans).

There's a set of wires coming out of the bottoms of both. These went into the display stands themselves. My brother said he can't remember exactly how they worked but he thinks there's more internal components for the speakers inside the case itself. When he got these speakers, the wires connecting the speakers to the case and internals were cut. There's a chance I could be missing half of the innards of both of these speakers but I mean, a speaker is a speaker, right? It might be missing the components needed to handle volume and maybe some post audio things, but they should still work, right? Right? Btw they don't work at all. Not even lights come on. Hello, I recently built a pc and has been working fine for the past two days. everything was working then all of a sudden my monitor mouse and keyboard randomly shut off however the pc stays on with everything lighting up. I have tried unplugging the pc, turning it on and off. Also disconnected and reconnected wires and ram on motherboard. I have a clear CMOS button on my io shield that does nothing but turn off the pc I’m wondering if there is an issue with the psu however it has more than enough watts for the pc and everything seems to light up that’s connected to it. Please help, thank you.

Hello all, I have a two questions. Recently my Asus PG348Q screen got cracked. And needs a replacement, any ideas where to source a panel cheap, or somewhere to send it to get fixed for cheap. Second question. Any chance I could take the Gsync module out of it and place it into a different monitor. I was thinking if I could get another ultrawide with a 144hz refresh rate for cheap one without gaync. That placing it into there would be awesome. Think that may be possible?

So going back to college I do have an Acer Nitro 5 got it long before the review video love it to death. I do not like it's bulk and so I'm thinking about getting a T440 or better (within $200 willing to do fix ups) for note taking and media consumption. My sister is wanting to take me on Black Friday to go get her a laptop to do the exact same thing. She is very novice when it comes to computers and essentially every one of her laptops the issue has been the battery going out and she doesn't want to spend 200 $300 to get a new battery installed from Geek Squad. We live in different states and it's just a whole complication there. I have zero experience with this laptop but every teardown guide every issue I can think of that can happen with this laptop is 20 to $50 on a part and a half hour to an hour tops of repair work. Is there anyone who had experience or have experience with this laptop would you recommend it for my sister? Again media consumption and school note taking.

I've had to make repairs to my phone a couple times, screen cracked once from a drop on tile. Then during that repair (screen for~$80, think I got lucky), the fingerprint sensor ribbon connector on the motherboard of the phone broke, after about six months I bought a parts only phone with a cracked screen for ~$110 and transferred good motherboard to frame with good screen, boom fully functional Pixel 3 XL. As a cautionary message, the ribbon cable clamps, that the fingerprint sensor uses, are very fragile unlike the lego style connectors that every other connection in the phone uses. My total repair cost would have less than $100 if not for that fragile connector. As to the back glass mod, I had almost a whole phone's worth of spare parts so I started scratching the paint away and around the NFC coil, as that is adhered to the glass and cleaned the adhesive off the parts that are exposed, plenty of double sided adhesive tape later its all together and clear like Tom Cruise. Both phones work too, so now I'm just looking for ideas for more mods, any ideas?

Can do a video on aluminum whiskers and computer part's break down and the industries decision in the 80's to take out the lead from aluminum and that cause a complete breakdown of 3 days lost of pager, phone communication, ATM failures and bank failures in the 80's because of an aluminum whiskers on the G4 satellite. I came across the aluminum whiskers problem while researching something else.
