Linus comments a lot on WAN show about having issues with showing web results in Windows 11 search. I agree that this is annoying and that it should be easily disabled. For those that want to spend the minor effort it CAN be disabled via a registry tweak. This does not solve the inconsistency/illogical way the search works, just removes web results. I have personally made this change and it does work. Link below. How to Disable Windows Web Search and Speed Up Your PC | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com) I hope y'all make use of it and save yourselves from bad Windows searches, LTT staff included

I have an infamous "Could not start mic pipeline" error in Nv Broadcast. I have used all the methods I found on the internet to mitigate this, but nothing worked. Almost a year has passed since the software was introduced, the oldest cases of the problem occurring were about six months ago and there is still no effective solution to this problem. I tried enabling Nvidia virtual devices in recording/playback tabs as it was described here (https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1184778-rtx-voice-not-detecting-mic/?tab=comments#comment-13564805). It did not helped me, because Nvidia virtual devices do not appear there, or anywhere else. I tried to use workaround that was proposed here http://nouchikun.blog.jp/archives/7496112.html - did't work ether. A dosen of install\reinstall сycles, various combinations of actions that look more like tech voodoo stuff - nothing helped. So i decided to analize what happened myself. First: The application stopped working after I installed the vc_redist_x64 or vc_redist_x86 libraries and rebooted the system. I did all this to install Apache. Second: If the application is installed in my Device Manager I see this: It's in russian, but it says "Cannot verify the digital signature of the drivers required for this device. (Code 52) " Third: In registry i found this entry: It doesn't matter if the app is installed or not, this entry stays there and cannot be deleted no matter what I try. In my unprofessional opinion, this entry can mess up something when installing the application and therefore the system cannot check drivers, install / enable Nvidia virtual devices or whatever. I am not writing this to ask for help, because nobody seems to know what to do about this problem. Even Nvidia doesn't know. This is just additional information for those people who know much more than me, maybe it will help them find a solution. As usual, sorry for my broken english.

So I'm messing with windows 11 and trying to add stuff to the new item context menu (picture below) however if I try and add different file types it appears to break it completely, adding an option for .bat file removes the option for .txt and I can't find a way to get it back. Clearly something has changed with how this menu is handled on 11 however certain file types still work fine (like .bat (it adds the option for new .bat file but removes .txt), adding a ShellNew key under HKCR\batfile\ works as expected but adding that under txtfilelegacy and .txt doesn't work. Some other extensions like .ps1 don't work either... (picture is from my win10 machine where it works normally) Anyone figured out a way to add new filetypes in windows 11?

I prefer the layout of Ubuntu's Unity desktop, which I've mimicked on my Plasma desktop: On my work desktop and laptop, I have configured the taskbar to be positioned on the right side, which I truly enjoyed. I have no plans on upgrading to 11 until this is possible. So, is it possible with a registry hack to move the taskbar to the left or right sides? I don't care how much digging I have to go through. I never want to see the taskbar at the bottom ever.

docker config.json ? or create a secret from credentials in the chart ? Just wondering, since Ive been using simple config.json, as to create the config.json with base64, set it as environment variable in CI, use it to add it to the config.json of the runner in the gitlab-ci.yaml file, and deploy the project to the namespace with helm(of course add the needed yaml files into the templates) Is there a more elegant way of doing that ?

I've been using CCleaner for.. I honestly don't know how long for cleaning up temp files - I like it for that, never used the registry cleaner. I've been reading about it on the forums and have found some conflicting reports regarding it's safety, so this is why I am wondering if there are any better alternatives out there?

Hopefully someone can suggest me which open source repository management tool for docker registry that i can use for my organization. I need a docker registry with web portal that developers can easily access and manage their repositories/images, with reasonable security available. So far I have tried Portus, however the project are pretty much dead as no update on the project for a few years now. I'm not able setup it up successfully, Secure LDAP is not working and somehow the image pushed to the registry is not showing up in their web portal. I've also tried goharbor, everything works great but there is one small problem: The docker client that login to the goharbor registry will see the message below: WARNING! Your password will be stored unencrypted in /root/.docker/config.json. I've verified it and the file does store the credential unencrypted. Reading the tutorial in goharbor's web site a few round and i don't see a way to prevent this behavior. That's kind of a deal breaker for some developers because they do not like to store their credential unencrypted in the VM not under their direct control. I've also go through the route of implementing my own authentication service for open source docker registry, I have little success on that but writing the whole management tool from scratch seems not feasible at the moment. Appreciate if someone can give me suggestion on this. PS: I'd like to avoid paid docker registry service as my organization got screw over by a company who shall not be named, the standard money problem as you would've guessed, so I'm bound to self-hosted solution.

Hi I'll try to keep it short aand with as much information as possible. If you need mire info let me know. Windows 10 prox64 Pc crashes in windows logo screen. I have tried to reset/roll back but I cant beause I forgot my password because I have been using a pin instead. I've been trying to fix it with bootable usb but anything I try to do is stoped by my NVMe m.2 970 EVO plus 1tb been "read only". I've tried to remove it through a USB boot windows installer and opening cmd but cand do it I've tried using Attribute Changer 10.0 but doesn't work either. I've read that its because of the "hiberfile" created after a shutdown. The thing is that to remove it I need to fully shut down the PC wich I can't because I dont have acces to it. Is there any way I can remove the "read only" from my Nvme without having to format and reinstall windows?

Hey guys, first of all - I know there were threads about this problem already, on many forums, but most of them are either old or dead ends so I've no choice but to explain my problem in a new thread. Issue: I keep getting audio distortions - crackling, popping, etc. - after around 1-1,5h of using my soundbar (Sonos Ray) with my PC via optical cable (Aorus X570 Pro MOBO). I've managed to track down what's causing said problem, that being high DPC/ISR latencies - main culprits are: HDAudBus.sys, wdf0100.sys and dxgkrnl.sys Latency with those 3 tends to spike up to 10000, but it's slowly creeping up, it's not sudden - highest latency starts at ~150 (with average of ~10-50) and steadily increases over time to 1200 then spikes to 10000. The distortion seems to be happening only when I play a YouTube video for example, and is exaggerated when I move my cursor on said video. However, if the video plays in a separate tab and I have second one open with Google search for example, the distortion suddenly disappears. Same if a video is playing in the background and I'm on desktop. What I've tried: ~Updating all drivers, audio, chipset, GPU, etc. - no effect ~Updating Bios, twice with both Gigabyte recommended Bios version and the newest one - no effect ~Changing some Bios settings, including setting pcie from auto to Gen4 - no effect ~Changing power plan to high performance - no effect ~Changing various audio settings - no effect ~Using sfc /scannow, which fixed something, but unfortunately - no effect ~Only resetting my PC fixes the problem temporarily - turning the soundbar off/on does nothing, same with unplugging it ~During distortion changing source by streaming music from my phone provides clear sound, but switching back to PC as source the distortion is there again I've read that fTPM on Ryzen could lead to stutters, but I'm using W11 so I can't disable it. Also, May '22 Bios update supposedly was to fix that issues. It's not a speaker/soundbar related problem - it persisted when I connected Creative Stage V2 (3,5mm and USB connections), Samsung Q700B (optical) and now Sonos Ray (optical). However, I never had any problems with distortion, when I was using my old Fenda R50 (3,5mm connection) for 2+ years, even without latest audio drivers. Is there any way to fix this weird issue, besides reinstalling Windows? If that would even help... Should I consider getting internal sound card or something?

I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on my Lenovo legion 5i notebook using the official Lenovo windows installer. I was planning to update to Windows 11 just after. But i will have to wait until Microsoft thinks i deserve the update through Windows update. While that i wanted to go ahead and do all my installations and customizations on the system. first, i wanted to run the standard script from privacy.sexy, with a few tweaks here and there. All i want to know is: Are there any threats to my system by running these scripts before an update? (Most of the snippets in the script are changes to the windows registry)

Top reasons why I wanna switch to Linux... Anyways, I updated my AMD GPU drivers, and audio just randomly stops working?... So I go back to old AMD drivers and nothing happens! (like I was expecting anything to happen) I tried uninstalling all sound drivers and letting Plug and Play do its magic, tried updating the drivers (didn't find any updates *what a shock*), tried Troubleshooter.. nothing (also what a shock). Here's some more detail. Google showed some stuff, but it was about keyboard not working which, if you know basic computer-ing, you know keyboard and sound isn't the same thing. (Using Windows 10 x64 English 20H2 (October Update) (2009)) Please any professional computer dude/ma'am/(whatever you prefer) help me with this? Hey guys, I messed up. I got a software to repair my pc like delete junk files, defragment the disks, malware detection, driver updates etc. Though, when I restarted after this, it gave me a nice BSD. Error Code: Inaccessible Boot Drive I tried everything I could find without any success. A few notes: Registry backup /dir gave me 0 results and dism wouldnt do any /online commands I finally got my roommates laptop to get myself a win10 installation media but before I reset and lost files, I tried a fix from here It asked me to "load hive" in regedit under a "new key", edit some things to say 0, which it already was set to, then unload hive. After this, I restarted and it got worse, no more display, black screen only. Cant access anything and my fears are worsening. I should've hit reset. Any one with knowledge of these issues, please offer some advice. I may be in trouble here. I'll do the best I can to provide information based on my memory of the past 6 hours

Hello everyone, I've encountered a strange problem lately. You see, I fucking hate LEDS on my tech. I really, really hate how they look, and how they mess with the lighting of my room, which I will admit I am somewhat obsessive about keeping at a nice, pale-white light. Following, when I built my computer in late 2015, I noticed the blue indicator light on my wifi card, and promptly covered it with blu tak, never to be seen again. Problem solved! Problem not solved. 5 years on, and I've encountered a most peculiar issue. You see, the LED on my wifi card is starting to go. I have tested this thoroughly, as I initially suspected it to be an issue with some gunk getting caught in my fan and causing unwanted sounds, but found that to be false. After some trial and error, anything that requires an exchange of large amounts of data, such as loading a new webpage, downloading or uploading a file, etc, causes the indicator LED to flicker, and produce a chirping noise in time with its flickering. As you may have guessed from my hatred of LEDs, I'm very particular when it comes to my sensory experiences, and high pitched noises in irregular patterns fucking destroy me. So, I am looking to turn off the LED permanently. However, there is no software solution pre-made for this, and after some snooping in regedit, I have found 8 registries for my wifi card related to its LED functions. I feel that I am close to a solution, but do not have any clue as to how to edit these registries to achieve my desired results. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. I have attached an image of the registries and included the relevant file path below Pathway: Computer -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Control -> Class -> {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} -> 0007

I have Windows 10 Home on my laptop, I've gained full control over this registry key via SetACL on administrator cmd line. Yet, when I try to delete it it just gives me an "Error while deleting key". The key is possibly protected some other way by microshaft, I'm just at a loss and not sure what else to do. I'm just trying to lock down my Windows 10 as much as possible. Edit: Safe Mode does not work, while trying to delete this key.

Hi. Lately I have come across errors regarding other users being able to login. When I go to login to my user account, I didn't see other user accounts show up in the lower left of the login screen or Start Menu. Currently my PC is running Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 1607 Build 14393.693. To provide some context, I was trying to fix an error with a user account. It pulled up a window that said "We can't sign into your account" after logging in. I tried a few guides that showed a possible fix for it, using the registry, navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and editing a few files in it, particularly ProfileImagePath to the correct user key, RefCount, State, and switching around two corresponding keys in ProfileList, with one having a .bak ending based on a guide from Microsoft. (RefCount and State weren't edited) After I did that and restarted, I found that I couldn't login to my user account, only the affected user account. I did a system restore from Control Panel and found that it didn't bring back the other users in the login page. I found that the users folder looks to be unaffected, with the user folders still there, and I could still see/manage the other user accounts in Control Panel. I tried sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f, none of which detected errors. I'm thinking about using Automatic Repair, System Restore in Safe Mode/System Recovery, using an old registry backup and pulling the appropriate key (ProfileList or something), use this YouTube video on fixing Windows 10 startup problems, and if worst comes to worst, reinstall Windows and hopefully keep something. Are there any more options I could use to fix this issue? Out of this situation, I now have something to reflect upon that would help me remember to keep backups and failsafes more often. If I do manage to pull myself out of this pickle, if another user account gets the "We can't sign into your account" dialog, I'm thinking that deleting the user account and transferring the old data to the new account would be a better option. With sincere thanks, NoobTechUser

So I started a similar topic on TH but then I realized this is probably a better place to ask. I am trying to install Sims 3 on a VM for my niece (last time she had access to my pc for an extended period I got malware). The problem is that Sims 3 checks your gpu for compatability and if it isnt listed in the games gpu list then you have to add it manually. The problem is that when running a VM the virtual gpu obviously isnt on the list of supported gpus and it adding it is very hard since every manufacturer has custom made rules for their gpus. I tried tinkering and converting the rules from other manufacturers to get the virtual GPU to work but to no avail. The thing is that the game tries to set video settings to suit the gpu (which you later can change), but if it isnt recognized it wont even give you the chance to set the settings. (EA.. pls...) I got the idea that if I could change the VM gpu information in the registry to have identical information to say an nvidia 460, the game would start propperly. The thing is tho I dont really know how where to start, I need the dxdiag to output identical display info as it would with a supported gpu. I am running windows 10, I would switch to linux and make it easier on me but I cant because of adobe. Worst case scenario I might have to dualboot linux and then through that run a VM with a gpu passthrough with AMD and Nvidia at the same time (the only 2 gpus I own, sadly fx8350 doesn't intergrated graphics). Lastly; is there any possibility to create a virtual device that would mimic a gpu just cosmetically? As in only look as if a gpu is connected so that Sims can let the game launch? Thanks in advance, 1k cookie points to whoever solves this.

Hi All, Here is my setup: 1) HP EliteBook 8540 running win-7 1) TripleHead2Go Analog (herein referred to as T2GO) 3) HP e230t monitors I just purchased these 3 new monitors for my station at work. I hooked them up through the T2GO with VGA out of the Laptop. The display's were functioning and chose a lower resolution due to the inadequacy of the laptop's GPU. Everything was appearing on the screen, but it was all stretched horizontally. I think it was giving a 4:3 ratio to these 16:9 monitors. I opened the default "screen resolution" window and tried to dial it back a little in hopes that I could at least make the ratio correct. All of the screen went black and never came back. (laptop AND externals) I can't seem to find a solution to this Here are the things I've tried: Reboot No change Unplug VGA from Laptop Laptop Display works normally Monitors unplugged from T2GO, T2G0 plugged into Laptop Black screens all around One external monitor plugged directly into Laptop Works as expected. Now, I know that the change in resolution that I set is stored SOMEWHERE in the registry. What I want to do is remove it. I want the computer to essentially 'forget' that it ever saw the T2GO. I am familiar with the command prompt and Python 3 and am comfortable modifying registry keys. Can someone please help me figure out which keys these are and in what fashion they need to be altered? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I recently installed Windows 10 on an SSD and have an HDD for extra storage. My question is if I can change the location of installing applications such as google Chrome? I really want my SSD to only store Windows 10. I know some users have tried changing the drive letter in the registry but I don't know if it's safe. I also heard of people using symbolic links. I look forward to your responses. Thanks!

So there are plenty of reasons to hate on windows, especially the way they are aggressively pushing their products. And it’s sad! Windows can be such a powerful tool for people that produce things! Please, if you want to hate on windows, make another topic called “Why you don’t use windows” and post there. I just want this topic to be about the positive aspects of Windows that get overlooked by the average user. Like I said, there are PLENTY of reasons to hate windows and that's fine; just keep things civil. Also, if you know of any useful programs that extend the windows shell, or tools that make cool registry hacks, please post them! I know some of you may feel editing the windows registry is sketchy, and this is justifiable to some extent; but it’s not a big deal if you pay attention. The windows registry is just Windows’ settings broken into a series of “hives”. Always backup your registry before making edits. And if possible, look at what is being changed before running a .reg file. The Windows registry is actually far more efficient than people would have you believe. Also, avoid using “registry cleaning software” unless something is genuinely wrong (even CCleaner). They generally remove more than they should and cause more problems than they fix. Reducing the size of your registry doesn’t have as much of an effect as you think. Folder Icons I love things like Plex when I want to watch movies in my living room, or on an iPad. But if I have access to a PC, I would rather use MPC (lets be real, plex sh!*s the bed anytime there is even a tiny amount of corruption in a file...and when there isn't any). But the best part of Plex is scrolling through Movie Posters and having media information pulled from the internet! Well, just look at my media library: I don’t need anything but windows to browse my Movies/TV Shows. And if I want to search for a movie by actor/actress, genre, etc…I just use windows search because I tag all my media files using MetaX (see useful programs below). The best part is, if I have access to my media server, this will work on pretty much any version of Windows since it done with a uniform “desktop.ini” file: [ViewState] Mode= Vid= FolderType=Videos Logo=FolderIcon.ico [.ShellClassInfo] IconResource=FolderIcon.ico,0 Another benefit, it helps things like Plex find the correct meta information online. Useful Tools MetaX (http://www.danhinsley.com/metax/metax.html) – A POWERFUL video tagging tool with a great GUI (this product is worth the $10, trust me) Context Menus In my opinion, the windows context menu system is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal (when leveraged correctly). You see some programs take advantage of this, like 7-Zip. Right click on a zip file and you are presented with a whole new context menu just for handling compressed files. But have you ever created your own context menu? It can make your life a whole lot easier. Take my media library from an earlier example. It is actually somewhat complicated to add a movie to my library. I have to use MetaX to tag the movie and output the movie poster. Then I have to convert the poster to an icon, copy in my “desktop.ini” template, and make the folder a system file. So I created a context menu for “.jpg” files that calls a script that does all that for me. It only took a few minutes to code, but it saves me so much time: F:\Projects2\ConvertToIcon\ConvertToIcon.vbs: OPTION EXPLICIT CONST HIDDEN = 0 DIM shell SET shell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") shell.Run "%comspec% /c F:\Projects2\ConvertToIcon\ConvertToIcon.bat """ & WScript.Arguments.Item(0) & """ > ""F:\Projects2\ConvertToIcon\log.txt""", HIDDEN, FALSE SET shell = NOTHING F:\Projects2\ConvertToIcon\ConvertToIcon.bat: @echo off echo Convert %~d1%~p1%~n1%~x1 to %~d1%~p1%~n1.ico echo convert file convert "%~d1%~p1%~n1%~x1" -matte -background none -resize 2048x2048^ -gravity Center -extent 2048x2048 -define icon:auto-resize "%~d1%~p1FolderIcon.ico" echo check if desktop.ini exists IF NOT EXIST "%~d1%~p1desktop.ini" echo F| xcopy "M:\_Template\desktop.ini" "%~d1%~p1desktop.ini" /H /K set PARENTFOLDER=%~d1%~p1 IF %PARENTFOLDER:~-1%==\ SET PARENTFOLDER=%PARENTFOLDER:~0,-1% echo make parent folder a system folder (%PARENTFOLDER%) attrib +S "%PARENTFOLDER%" /D echo make desktop.ini a hidden system file attrib +S +H "%~d1%~p1desktop.ini" :: If you are having to delete Thumbs.db every time, uncomment the following ::timeout 3 ::echo check if Thumbs.db exists ::IF EXIST "%~d1%~p1Thumbs.db" del /F /A:HS "%~d1%~p1Thumbs.db" echo Done. F:\Projects2\ConvertToIcon\ConvertToIcon.reg: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\.jpg\shell\ConverttoIcon] @="Convert to Icon" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\SystemFileAssociations\.jpg\shell\ConverttoIcon\command] @="wscript.exe \"F:\\Projects2\\ConvertToIcon\\ConvertToIcon.vbs\" \"%1\"" But let’s take an example from something I’ve seen Linus rant about: the “Up Directory” button while viewing search results. In Windows 10, if you open a directory from a search result then click the “Up Directory” button, it returns you to the search results page (even if you right click and open in a new window). It is the most infuriating thing in the history of mankind! So let’s fix it and add 3 new context menus entries: Right click a folder -> Open folder in a new window: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Open Target] @="Open Target in New Window" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Open Target\command] @="Explorer.exe \"%V\\\"" Right click the background of a folder -> Open its parent folder: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Open Parent] @="Open &Parent" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shell\Open Parent\command] @="Explorer.exe \"%V\\..\\\"" Right click anything -> Open parent folder in a new window: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\OpenTargetParentFolder] @="Open Target's Parent Folder" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shell\OpenTargetParentFolder\command] @="Explorer.exe /select,\"%V\"" Boom! Problem Solved! A more advanced way to generate dynamic context menus. I don’t want to get too into this, but here is a great place to start: CppShellExtContextMenuHandler (https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/CppShellExtContextMenuHandl-410a709a). So let’s say you have media files that don’t have public meta information for MetaX to use, but you still want to tag things like actors/actresses, genre, etc…(let’s say you are naughty and have a lot of pr0n and want to make it easier to search ? I’m not saying I created a context menu for this reason…it’s just an example….don’t tell my mom). Now you can create an elaborate where you can tag media files easily, by generating menus based on things like folder path, existing tags on the file, recently used tags, etc… Really the limit is your imagination. Useful Tools Default Programs Editor (http://defaultprogramseditor.com/) – An amazing program that allows you to edit everything from file extension context menus (by extension and by class), to file extension icons/descriptions. One of the best programs available for creating/editing Windows context menus. ShellNewHandler (https://sourceforge.net/projects/shellnewhandler/) – A great program for clearing out your “New” context menu. Let’s be real, have you EVER used the context menu to create a new “Contact” file? No. No you have not. In fact, you’ve never used 90% of the other default options in that menu. So get rid of them and add some useful ones. ShellExView & ShMnView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) – Great tools for clearing out unwanted context menu items.

I was attempting to clone a hard drive to an SSD on an HP laptop. I used Disk Management to shrink the drive partition down to the smallest it would go and made sure there wasn't to much data on the HD for the 240GB SSD. When I attempted to use Acronis Clone software it gave me an error. I ran defragmentation on the original drive to clean it up and then ran error checking. It found an error and said it needed to restart to fix the error. I restarted and it ran the automatic repair and said the repair would take an hour. After 5 hours I shut the computer off and tried to restart. It went straight back to the automatic repair and won't go further. I pulled out the original hard drive, put it in a USB enclosure, plugged it into a working Windows 10 desktop and ran the error checking. It found an error and said it fixed it. I plugged the hard drive back in the laptop's drive bay and booted it up. No luck. It went straight to automatic repair. I went to recovery options and opened the command prompt. I tired bootrec.exe /fixmbr and bootrec.exe /fixboot. No good. I tried bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd boot it showed that there was 0 Windows installations on the drive. Finally I tried Automatic Repair. Not surprisingly, it didn't work. But I kept the log file which I will link. It pointed towards a corrupt registry. Does someone know methods of editing registry outside of windows or using non-Windows apps while in Windows? Backstory: I screwed up, wanted to install AutoCAD, which didn't detect installed .NET 4.5. I decided to reinstall it since it helped earlier, but everything went wrong when I realized that Visual Studio 2017 installed .NET 4.7, wrote about it in registry, but not in distribution panel. And now I'm not able to do a thing,,, Neither uninstalling VS 2017 (it requires .NET 4.5 to do this), nor deleting a registry path that exists when .NET 4.5 is installed. P. S. Reinstalling an OS is not an option since it's father's laptop (mine is coming soon unprepared, so i need a PC for university for a while), there are some programs, for which I do not have installers with me and process of finding them is a pain in the butt, plus I don't have a lot of free time for getting that thing to work properly... Just need to delete one directory to make that thing running, that's all.

I just spent a day assigning registry rights, one at a time, in order to delete some keys that were preventing the USB from initializing on my brother's pc. Of course i just wanted to reinstall and start again but didnt really want to deal with redownloading all his stuff. I got it working in the end, but got me thinking that someone out there has made an easier and much less tedious way of assigning ownership of a bunch of regkeys to the admin, and then deleting them while also enumerating all the subkeys. It was fucking torture, i would get to the last key in the section, give myself ownership, and then 30 more subkeys appear inside it !!!! Has anyone found a way to make this easier ?
