I have the option of getting either a Macbook Pro or a Razer Blade Stealth for Christmas. I don't know which one to get. Opinions? http://www.strawpoll.me/14550824

Ok, so I had an idea thanks to Linus painting things like GPU's to fit his taste... What about painting or polishing a Razer Blade to be a nice aluminium/silver colour? I would like to know if anyone has done this and it could be a really interesting YouTube video if Linus chooses to accept such a challenge to try. Am I the only one that likes this idea and should this be an option during purchase... If so please leave a comment bellow.

Hello, LTT community! I have question for you all today. I entered into LTT's 3 Million Subscriber Giveaway and told them that I would prefer the Razer Blade (i7-6700HQ, GTX 1060) over the Blade Stealth (i7-7500u, onboard graphics). I would generally be using it for gaming, computer programming, and general use (surfing the web, Microsoft Office, etc.). I know that the GTX 1060 is a totally capable GPU for gaming, but how does the i7-6700HQ perform? I looked it up on UserBenchmark, and they ranked the i7-6700HQ below an i5-6400 in desktop, gaming, single core, and quad-core performance. This made me a little uneasy. So, what do you guys say? Is the 6700HQ a capable gaming processor? If any of you could find any 6700HQ gaming benchmarks, that would be delightful! Thanks, techstorm970

I've been following LTT for a while now but never bothered to sign up in the forums. Well... with the giveaway I had a perfect excuse to try and win a laptop *cough cough* I've no money *cough cough* I just wanted to offer you guys a token of my appreciation. Cookies for everyone! Here's a batch of them! Dig in

Hay LTT forum! From the first laptop I've ever owned being a 14" Lenovo R61, I've loved the 14" form factor. I now need a replacement for my newer (but still quite old) Lenovo T430s. I edit video and looking to get better performance in the 3D ray-tracing and smoke rendering. One of these bad boys is eventually going to be traded for my hard earned money. i just want to make sure that I'm getting the best computer in this form factor. What do you guys think? I'm personally in the MSI camp simply because of the build quality and upgrade-ability. Just so the forum knows, i already have a tower for the heavier work loads, but sometimes i feel like going to a coffee shop and get some work done.

I'm a engineering student in Manchester, UK. I'm considering buying a Razer blade with the 1060 from razers US store for uni, light gaming and normal use, but im worried about the power adapter dealing with the 230v 50Hz UK plug socket output. Will I need to buy a completely different power brick to deal with the different standards? Is this something I need to be worried about because I dont want to wreck a laptop by simply trying to charge it. Any help or advice anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I used to be a console gamer(Ps2 and Xbox360) , but now i am starting to shift towards PC Gaming and i need help from pros as i am not familiar with all this overcloaking , bottleneck , gpu , psu etc. I have a old Desktop with following specs (Taken from Speccy):- core i5-2300 @2.80 GHz , 4 cores , 4 threads. Asus Motherboard P8H67-M LE (LGA1155) , Version (Rev X.0x) . (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H67M_LE/) 4 GB RAM single channel DDR3 @665Mhz Intel HD graphics 500 GB HDD , SATA-III 6.0 Gb/s Windows 10 pro 64 bit Samsung Monitor Resolution 1366x768 pixels PSU 600W CoolerMaster I want to upgrade it so that it can play modern games ( specially Gta V and Hitman 2016, and upcoming games like Mafia 3 etc) on at least medium settings , but i can also manage at low settings.Visual appearance doesn't matter for me much, but the game itself should be playable. Which Graphic Card should i buy ? My Budget limit for Graphic Card is $100-200, and i don't want to upgrade Ram or Install SSD or rebuilt an entire PC because i am going to buy a new laptop Razer Blade Stealth (New one $999, 128GB SSD). I am not going to stay at home for a while , so i only want to upgrade this old Desktop with a Graphics Card , or if possible Graphics Card+Ram but the Budget is under $200. Edited: My Desktop PC specs by using Cpu-z (http://valid.x86.fr/hlcupz). PS if possible can someone tell me if Razer Blade Stealth is upgradeable or not for future ? like $999 model has 8GB ram and only 128 GB SSD , so if i buy this model but later on can i upgrade the Ram and SSD to 16 GB and 256/512 GB respectively? Razer model with specs 16GB Ram and 256GB SSD is way over my laptop budget limit which is $1000 , and i need a laptop that is also upgradeable in future altough i can rely on this $999 model too but i don't think such specs will handle much in future if i happen to buy a Razer core and GTX 1060. Please Answer these two questions.

I have been considering getting a laptop that I can use both for productivity and gaming. And as you probably know, Razer has recently announced the New Razer Blade Stealth (with the new Kaby Lake CPU) and the New Razer Blade updated with the GTX 1060, so I am debating which purchase I should make? I lean toward the Razer Blade with the 1060 because it's one complete package while still retaining a compact package. On the other hand, I have been wanting a lighter laptop to take with me, so the Blade Stealth is very appealing in that sense. Battery life is important and although the Blade Stealth seemed to do much better here than the Blade in the previous models, the New Blade I am interested in is the 1080p version, so the difference might not be so great this time. Finally, here are the models I am considering for each option: 1) New Razer Blade (1080p, 256GB)--$1799. 2) New Razer Blade Stealth (QHD, 256GB)--$1249; Razer Core--$499 (I have a GTX 960 I can use right now, but I eventually would need to upgrade--possibly the RX 470). What are your guys' opinions? Should I buy the Razer Blade? or the Blade Stealth w/ Razer Core?

Now That Most Of The 10 Series Laptop Cards Are Out, which One Of These would be the best pick? I need something under 2.5 Kgs. 15.6" max. Would love RGB and 4K display w/ touch, but not a huge necessity. Also don't really care bout G-sync. I intend on playing AAA games on high (if not ultra) at around 60FPS at 1080p. And I have a budget of 2500 USD max! Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I'm new here! . I think this is the right place to post this... right? I saved up some money to buy a new computer. I thought I had it all figured out, but I'm not sure anymore. Here are the things that are important to me in a computer. - Portability (VERY IMPORTANT ) - Pretty Good display, accurate colors too. - Good Processing power and GPU - Preferably touchscreen - High resolution but not 4K. I'm fine with 1080p or "3K" - Easily supports multiple monitors (including laptop screen included as one monitor) (2 is ok, 3 would be nice) - Numpad keys I'm not a big gamer though I like to play a bit here or there. Fancy ultra-realistic graphics aren't too important to me either. I need a pretty powerful system to handle my video editing projects, including compositing and rendering 3D stuff from scratch. I take the laptop I have right now everywhere (school, trips, etc), and I don't like the idea of having one computer tethered to the same place all the time. I usually don't do any power demanding things on my laptop unless it's plugged in and connected to another monitor though. I was going for a Dell XPS 15, but a touchscreen that has to be 4K is a downer for me and the GPU isn't that great. Then I went for the New Razer Blade 14. It had pretty much everything I wanted. However, I talked with other people and came up with a different solution: a custom built "gaming" desktop (or a workstation, whatever you call them) and a lower end laptop (I could buy a new one or maybe try to fix up the one I currently have, which is on the verge of falling apart) as well as a way to sync files between them easily via a server or something like Resilio Sync. I do have an older desktop computer with nothing to do with, maybe I could use that for a server. I'm ok with only a local connection for file syncing, but access from anywhere with internet would be nice too. So, with a budget of 2,000 plus-ish dollars, what do you guys think? Would it be better to get a Blade and just have a good computer with me everywhere or a probably faster computer but in one place, with a weaker machine that can connect with it? I'm torn between the two.

I'm looking to replace my current laptop (4 years old, Lenovo Y580, i7, 660M). I'm a student and portability is important for me. Power is as well. I game a little bit (a lot of FIFA at the moment) and I also use SolidWorks, Inventor, and Fusion. I've been looking at the Razer Blade 14 (2016, i7 6700HQ, 970M 6gb, 512gb SSD, $2200) and the Asus Zenbook Pro UX501VW (i7 6700HQ, 960M 2gb or 4gb, 512gb SSD, $1700). Both have Thunderbolt 3 which is a huge plus with the Razer Core. The Blade is a good bit more expensive but also has 3x the GPU memory, is smaller (more portable) and lighter. I would also save $100 on the Razer Core. The 960M in the Asus scares me a bit because it doesn't feel like much of an upgrade from the 660M in my current laptop and it's pretty big even if it is thin. I really want to get my hands on both and see what they're like but obviously bestbuy etc. don't have any on display. If anyone owns either of these I would love some input.

I checked my email this morning to see this... Dear Blade Customer, Thank you for you order of the new Razer Blade gaming laptop. We now expect to be able to ship your product approximately May 18th and we will notify you as soon as it does. We value your business and appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding your order, please contact our support team at ordersupport@razerzone.com. Sincerely, Team RazerStore Sorry Razer, but this is seriously getting annoying considering this was originally supposed to ship on the 12th of April, only to be moved to the 22nd, then the 25th and now the 18th of May. And they have not provided a reason for the additional delay they alerted us to today

When I got my laptop, Razer Blade 14, the bottom had a skin that covered it. This was fine until I needed access to the windows key that the sticker covered. Removing the skin also removed all text from the windows key sticker. So I can now only read the last 3 sets of 5 characters for the windows key(By shining a light through the skin). There 0% chance for me to read the other 2 sets. I can read the QR code and also can ready the 22 long character key below the activation key. So I was wondering if there was somehow to use the 22 character key to activate windows on my laptop, or someway to get the rest of the windows key.

Ok, so here is my dilemma. Right now I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15in late 2012. I have been using it for gaming, but its 650m graphics processor just isn't enough power for what I am doing, and it gets as hot as a bat outa hell when I am gaming, even with both fans cranked to their maximum of 6000 rpm. Also, I have decided that I hate Mac OS, so I am always running it in boot camp anyway. Basically I am trying to decide if I want to sell the macbook, and get a razer blade instead. I still really like the slim all metal design of the macbook, which is why I am looking at the blade, as it has a 870m graphics processor, and it has a much beefier cooling setup (2 heat pipes instead of one). Both laptops have 8gigs of ram, a quad core hyperthreaded processor, and similar display resolutions. My only concern is what the blades build quality is like. Yes, I know linus talks very highly of it in his videos, but I have seen some forum posts that say it's not quite as durable as a macbook pro, saying that it attracts fingerprints, and that the keys on the keyboard are apparently painted and that the letters will wear off, and so on. Also, If I get it, I was hoping to get a price cut by buying a refurbished one directly from razer. How good is razers refurbished quality control? I know that apple's is super good, and I am wondering if razers is good as well. Does anyone have both of these computers? What can you say for the build quality compared to a macbook pro retina? Are the keyboard keys and fingerprint smudges a major issue? Thank you!

Hello. I recently purchased a Razer Blade 2014 14. I have 2 problems with it. The first problem is cpu temps. While the fans in the laptop do work, the fan curve seems to be a bit lacking. For example, when I ran Space Engineers, the cpu briefly jumped up to 93 degrees Celsius, before the fans sped up a bit and brought it back down to about 83 degrees Celsius. I know that this is within spec for the laptop, but it is still pretty dang hot and I will gladly sacrifice fan noise for more cooling. Is there any way to make the fan cooling curve more aggressive, so that the fans are running faster and keeping the cpu cooler? I have already tried to use speedfan, but it cant seem to find any fans or sensors to display and control. My second problem is less of an issue, but the illuminated razer logo on the back of the screen is very dim, and is not nearly as bright as in pictures, or even in Linus's video. It is not even close to as bright as the apple logo on my macbook. How do I increase its brightness? It is not affected by screen brightness, or keyboard brightness. Thanks.

ive been searching and searching and looking for a laptop as slim and light weight and as powerfull as the razer blade thats not as expensive but i really cant find anything. i was considering buying a macbook pro but the stupid fucking things dont have dedicated graphics cards in them which is what id love. now i came up with a solution which i want to consider as my very last option, im gonna need a laptop for uni work anyways ive been at uni for a year now and its hell not having laptop. my solution was to buy a mac or razer blade stealth or something similar without a dedicated graphics card and get a external GPU enclosure like the one razer is about to release. before i go and do that though, i want to know if theres any alternatives to the razer blade, something with just as much build quality and as good looking and as fast and powerful, without the added razer branding price. i also considered getting the old macs, a second hand or refurbished one for example and then i could upgrade it myself, coz to my best knowledge you cant upgrade the new macs? any support or suggestions will be much appreciated.

So first let me say, I am not looking to build another PC, I am looking to pick a gaming laptop for college. I do not have the space to bring one, and it will not work well for me(I am leaving mine at home). With that out of the way, thank-you for taking the time to help me decide what is my best option. I play GTA V, CSGO, Farcry 4, Witcher 3(sometimes). A mix of low to high power games. Here are the options I have narrowed down to, I need theses to be thin and light laptops, price range is iffy but some of them I am willing to splurge a little to get the best for me. Hello there! I'm an avid PC gamer with little experience and know-how of most PC components and how or why they work, and I've been having issues lately. Okay, so I've recently made a quick decision to buy a Razer Blade laptop and seeing as I love gaming on a larger screen, I went with the 2015 Blade Pro. I've had it for over six months and at first I started to love it, but now I'm beginning to hate it. Sure it's thinner, lighter and more sleek than my four-year-old MSI GT70, but the four year old laptop still runs games better than this system. The Blade seems to run games and processes slow and unstably. For example, when I start up Fallout 4 at THE LOWEST POSSIBLE SETTINGS it runs good at 60 FPS for about 30 seconds before the frame rate drops to less than ten frames per second. The machine won't even run Black Ops 2, another game more than four years old (I think) at a stable thirty frames. I haven't done any modifications to the system but I'm horribly dissapointed with the way my system is running. I can give a list of games that run horribly below. -American Truck Simulator -Banished -Civilization 5 -Every Call of Duty -Every Bethesda game -Spintires -Basically every other game...ever I have the settings for the game processor to the high performance Nvidia processor and I've checked and yes, the 16 gigabytes of RAM are all active. could somebody tell me why it's not running as fast as it should be? Stats: (important ones anyway) Intel Core I7-4720HQ Nvidia GeForce 960 M Windows 10 16 Gigabytes of RAM The system runs very hot though, it seems Razer didn't take head dissipation into account as the thermal design only directs head away from the keyboard and where you would be resting your hands for a long time. The vents are tiny and the fan is always running loud when I'm mid-game. Sometimes surfaces that they didn't account for have almost literally burnt my fingers when touching them after an hour or two of straight gaming. The GPU temperature with World of Tanks running idol is 88-91 degrees Celsius, and the CPU temperatures in the same conditions are about 69-71 Celsius Can anybody help me with a solution? or would it just be smarter to sell the system and build my own PC?.

Hello, First of all, I am not a native English speaker so sorry, bear with me if I did any mistake. I have been researching for these 2 laptops for a very long time but I am still not sure which one to buy because I have some questions that I couldn't find answer for so I decided to ask it here. My budget is 2500$ or lower (not sure about my budget tough, but of course, cheaper is good ) There is a wide variation of options for Macbook pro so there's no specific model I prefer to buy but I would definitely prefer a 15 inch version. 2014 or 2015 does not matter at all, price matters tough. As for Razer, I prefer 14 inch QHD+ 2015 model with 256+ GB SSD What I want is a little complicated. I do a lot of programming, 3D modelling, video editing stuff and I also own games like Battlefield 4, Tomb Raider etc. I care about: performance (of course), battery life: which is actually great for both of these laptops, sound quality (not at a professional level actually), build quality: I care about this a lot because I had a very hard time with asus customer support after my current laptop got broken. It's been a year since it started to underperform significantly and it has driven me crazy so I don't want this happen again. Based on my research, I think both Apple and Razer have perfect customer service (tell me i I am wrong). But, I live in Turkey, so Razer does not give us support for Razer Blade here unfortunately, but there's rumors saying that razer blade will come here too. (I have a lot of friends in various countries, especially US so I can buy one trough a friend and maybe I can send it with a friend to that country if it gets broken) SSD speed: This is very important because my first priority is productivity. Screen: In terms of screen quality, I think Razer and Apple have no competitor but people say that Razer Blade's screen is reflective, is this something I should be worried about? I mean, does it really bother at all? And one more: Does windows 10 really scale great on a 3200x1800 resolution like Mac OS does? Some people say that it doesn't. I prefer having a lot of content so I will probably scale things to the size as small as it appears on a 1080p screen %100 scale (I would always use Blade at it's native resolution. I hope I explained it well ) Keyboard: I prefer a Windows keyboard layout; I think it's much more programmer-friendly, seriously. However, people say you get use to MBP's keyboard very easily. What do you think? Here is where I am stuck mostly and it really is a different question which I couldn't find answer for: Currently I am using a Windows machine but I will probably start developing apps for Mac OS soon, so I wonder if I can install Mac OS X (not 5 years old versions) along with Windows on Razer Blade which is easy to do with a Macbook device. This is really the question I wonder most. And here is a point where I have no idea what to do: If I go with MBP, I will not be able to play graphics demanding games like Battlefield 4 or even average games like Magicka Wizard Wars and Ghost Recon which I love to play. Programmers need rest too And no, I don't have money to buy another PC for gaming. I have even seen some new MBP's screen freeze when scrolling big content or even desktop effects like when you open mission control, especially in power saving mode. It looks to me like something that macbook's designers should be ashamed of. I mean, I really think that GTX 750m does not fit with a 4th or 5th gen i7 processor. Do you think buying an external graphics card for MBP just to play at home would be a good solution? Or should I just install virtual OSX on Windows instead of native OSX (again, not 5 years old versions). Again, this is because my primary preference is Windows, but I need latest builds of MacOS to develop apps for MacOS. I know it's a very long and detailed comparison but I am really not sure which one to buy. Any help will be appreciated.

Hey guys I'm looking in to buying a Razer Blade 2015 but I have a couple of problems. Usually I would buy one from JB-Hi-Fi (Australian electronics retailer) but they don't seem to have it anywhere. So I looked on the Razer store and it is $3700 for the 256GB model. I can get a student discount of 5% but still that is too much for me and I can't seem to find a way to get one in Australia without paying a ridiculous price. So I was wondering if anyone here has a way that I could get one in Australia for less say around $3000 AUD. If not could someone suggest another 14in thin alternative laptop like the Blade? Thanks guys.

Hi everyone, I am from Europe, but a friend of mine bought for me the Razer Blade 14" 2015 (512GB). But when he arrived and I switched the laptop I noticed that there is something wrong with the display. Have any one of you seen this defect (and no it is not dirt :) )? https://www.dropbox.com/s/ccslb4a729pacrc/IMG_20150509_225742.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/vbs8tznlsdiyipt/IMG_20150509_225718.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/f04iyshy0yz2mzw/IMG_20150509_225712.jpg?dl=0 I have contacted Amazon and they have me 3 options: 1. to get 20% off the price 2. Full refund with full coverage of the expenses for the return 3. To repair it in Europe and they will cover the repair. They said that they can also replace it, but unfortunately can send the new unit back to the original address in the USA, due to the import taxes in EU, so that option is not viable for me right now. So do you think the pixels are dead or struck, or it is something different connected to some damage on the display or maybe problem with the glue?

Headed off to college this fall so I'm the market for a new laptop. The two main candidates are either the Razer Blade 2015 (QHD unfortunately for my wallet because I'd need the 512gb SSD) or the just barely on the market Aorus X5. The internet is pretty saturated with appreciation for the Blade's build quality and overall cohesiveness so I'm pretty well informed on front, being a fan of LTT has made sure of that, so I'm more looking for what people's experiences have been with Aorus laptops and laptop SLI in general. Build quality seems like more of a mixed bag with Aorus machines so any experience with that would be really helpful too. For Basic Reference: (Pretty sure most people already know these, definitely the blade, but what the hell...) Aorus X5 $2,299 US -i7 5700HQ (2.7-3.5ghz) -GTX 965m SLI (4gb per card) -16gb RAM -512GB SSD + 1TB HDD, 7200rpm -2800x1620 IPS 15.6" +GSYNC Razer Blade 2015 $2,699 US -i7 4720HQ (2.6 - 3.6ghz) -GTX 970m 4gb -16gb RAM -512GB SSD -3200x1800 IGZO 14.0" In a lot of what I need Spec-wise, the Aorus is seeming like the better bet. Some specs are effectively the same but, as either laptop would have to replace my current desktop solution, the extra storage of the Aorus makes a bigger difference than it might otherwise. Plus, in terms of price, the version Newegg is selling goes for $2,299 vs. the $2,699 I'd have to shell out for the Blade. That being said, it seems like the better specs and in someways better feature set of the Aorus X5 could be a double edged sword. While I doubt there will be a ton of people who own it yet as it only recently gone out for sale, any experience with other Aorus tech, especially the somewhat similar X7 Pro would be awesome. I've done some research on issues with SLI and how reliable that really is with support, scaling, etc but so far it hasn't been concise as I'd like. Anyway, hope this isn't too long, its my first post here so I may have unintentionally made myself look quite the scrub. Thanks in advance!

I don't know if the Razer Blade supports streaming music over Bluetooth, but I would think it would. My problem is that I can't find a way to play music to my Razer Blade over Bluetooth. I've tried Ipods, Galaxy S6 Edge, LGL34C, ect. So it is my laptop. When I connect a device, the razer blade doesn't list audio streaming as an option, neither does the device connecting list audio as an option with the razer blade. The laptop lists "Browse Remote Folder, Send File, Synchronize PIM Data with Phone Book Access" as the options. So, am I missing a driver for streaming music over Bluetooth? The laptop has 4.0 Bluetooth already.

So I am a university student that is looking to get a laptop that I can bring around with me for my day to day work while also letting me sit down and game at the highest settings that I can whenever I got free time. I'm looking for the powerful laptop that I can bring around with some ease (don't wanna bring a brick from home to campuses to the library on buses). My budget is around 4,500$ CAD before tax so there is a lot of wiggle room with what laptop I can get. You can suggest other laptops but I'd like some explanation on why they would be better. Looks arn't a big factor Here are the 2 choices that I have been looking at: http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-gs70-stealth-pro-i7-b0-109521-1066.htm#CustomerReviewsThe MSI laptop is slightly more powerful than the razer blade with a tremendously larger amount of storage, however there have been a lot of thermal complaints about it according to Linus himself so I don't know, can anyone else confirm or is it only when I'm playing games for a long time at high settings/resolution. http://www.razerzone.com/ca-en/store/razer-bladeThe razer blade is almost as powerful as the msi laptop but it also has a 3k ish display and a touch screen which are big bonuses however the limited amount of storage is what irks me as I use this over time. Some other choices I found were these beasts though I don't know if they will be a pain to carry around or if they are just what I need. http://www.ncix.com/detail/msi-gt72-dominator-pro-i7-2b-109505-1892.htm http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-rog-laptop-g751jy-db73x-core-a6-110211-1891.htm Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. I may look at the new skylake laptops but I am not sure if they will be out when I start june late august / early september
