I’m going to buy ram but I have an i3 12100. It says it only supports a max of 3200mhz for ddr4 ram. Does that mean I cannot overclock the ram or use any with a higher frequency and have it actually run at said frequency?

i have 4 sticks of corsair ddr4 3200mhz ram on msi b450 mortar and i tested all the ram are working however whenever i try to boot up with the ram configuration like this: [(ram)(ram)(empty)(empty)] or [(empty)(empty)(ram)(ram)] my computer fails to boot up and the debug led light up on ram. Only with [(ram)(ram)(ram)(ram)] and [(empty)(ram)(empty)(ram)] and [(ram)(empty)(ram)(empty)] does my pc boot up Anyone have any idea if the motherboards is dying or its a bios/software issue? i have already checked my cpu for bent pins and reseated my cpu , cleared my bios , reset cmos by taking battery out the rest of my system if it matters: msi ventus gtx1660 super , ryzen 7 2700 , boot drive mx500 1tb

Recently, I got some a dual channel 16 gig kit to replace my (at the time) current single channel kit. I added it but, it wouldn’t completely boot, staying stuck on the ROG boot up screen. I added the original stick back and everything worked fine. Two weeks after the same boot issues started occurring again. I’ve left it off, removed the cmos battery, and reseated the gpu. I just resorted to buying another kit and the same issue is going on. I’ve checked bios and it is detecting the new ram. Like I said it loads on the ROG screen infinitely but every few boot ups, It will boot up to a black screen with an hour glass that switches to a standard mouse cursor. Nothing else happens after that. If anyone can help that’d be great. Windows 11 64bit i7-9700k 2080 Super 16gb 3200mhz 850watt platinum

Specs: 3060 ti Founders Edition (for now; from pre-built) i7 14700KF ASUS Rog Strix z790-F Wireless mobo 32 gb corsair vengenance 5200 ddr5 RAM (currently one RAM stick is in whilst troubleshooting) 2TB MX500 Crucial SATA SSD (from pre-built) Corsair 850x PSU (from pre-built) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys (also posting here from Reddit as an completely stuck on what to do ) Over the past few days I have put together my first PC using some old parts from my pre-built build and others which are new. However, I've been experiencing issues. To start, my PC will POST when only one RAM stick is in. Both sticks work when they are in individually (one at a time) and in any mobo slot. Secondly, if I have one RAM stick in and boot my usb with the windows install, my PC will POST as normal with the ASUS logo appearing to go into BIOS. However, as the windows install comes up, I then get a blue blank screen and my PC turns off automatically about twenty seconds later. Sometimes, I have received three different error messages. The first two messages I have received is when I briefly see the windows install but get BSOD stating "PAGE\_FAULT IN NON\_PAGED AREA" and "Kmode exception not handled". The final message type I have received is a black screen with a "Windows boot manager" heading stating that the "digital signature for this file couldn't be verified. Status: 0xc0000428". Would anyone happen to know what issue I may be facing? At this point, I'm not entirely sure what the root cause to all these issues are; my gut says it's either a CPU (memory controller/cooler is too tight) or mobo issue. Would greatly appreciate any assistance, and apologies for the long post. Starting to go insane not knowing what could be causing this

So i built my pc a few days ago using the asus tuf b550-e wifi motherboard, thermaltake 20mt case with rgb fans and corsair vengance pro rgb ram, i installed the icue for corsair lighting, installed the patch for the lighting for the ram to work with aura sync and it did, the problem being that it doesnt start on startup, i have to open icue, then open aura sync, they link up, close icue and then set up the coloring, and of course it works but is there a way of making it work from the start? maybe deleting icue? idk

I have 2 rams produced on 2021 Feb and another one I purchased today produced on 2023 Aug. I purchased new one because my PC was getting slowed by low ram on my pc. Ram details DDR4-3200 8GB F4-3200C16S-8GVKB CL16-18-18-38 1.35v Intel XMP 2.0 Ready I have ram with these exact same details mentioned above. All of 3. Now the problem is that the base frequency of these rams is not 3200 but my motherboard is capable of overclocking it using XMP. So previously when I had only 2 of them, I was running them at 3200. Now if I'm trying to so the same with using this on 3rd slot, it's lowering all the way to 1833. What could be the issue here? Should I mark the product as defect and replace it? I have also tried to replace 1 of the older rams from 2 with the new one still it isn't picking up to the 3200MHZ while same is working with the older 2 rams with the same settings. Motherboard - MSI B450M mortor max Processor - Ryzen 5 3400G Graphics card - None

My pc has started shutting off seemingly under load. I have no idea how to translate this wall of text into what the problem actually is. My current guess is the psu, but if one you knows what the issue is, please let me know. Thanks in advance! okay, i have search everywhere for an anwser and didnt find anything. i had a pc with a Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING, i5-8600K, 1060 and 16G of ram in slot 2 and 4. i decided to upgrade since i couldnt run the new ARK ASA. i bought 3 things to upgrade but it came in 2 batch. i ordered a 4070 OC Ventus 3x and 32G of ram G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB), that came in first so installed it, i read that mixing different ram could cause issue so i just replaced the old ones with the new ones in the same slot. everything was working, it booted no problem. i ordered a new CPU i9-9900KF, when it came and i installed it nothing was booting, after researching i found out that i needed to uptade my BIOS to support the new CPU gen. i did it by replacing my new CPU wiht my old one and did the update, everything worked flawlessly. i went to reinstall my new CPU but when i started my pc it didnt boot, i check the led to see what the problem was, and the ram led was lighing up, so i thought i had maybe touch the ram by accident so i reinstalled it, still not working, so i decided to test every slot, this is what i discovered: Slot 1 and 2: everything works and it boots Slot 1 and 3: keeps rebooting Slot 2 and 4: keeps rebooting Slot 3 and 4: keeps rebooting only slot 1 or slot 2: everything works and boot only slot 3 or 4: doest turn on with the ram led on So i after searching i decided to say fuckoff and letting them in slot 1 and 2 since it worked fine, but i decided to do i benchmark and everything was working outstanding at a 90th percentile and more, except my ram whos at 13th percentile, i watched the video to fixed that saying to activate XMP profile, which i did, but still the benchmark says its not working as it should, so i thinks its because of the slots that im on because in my motherboard manual it recommend slot 2 and 4 for 2 stick of ram. so please help me im at a complete loss :(

So currently I have 16GB 2x8gb 1600mhz SK Hynix HMA81GU6DJR8N-XN sticks in my desktop installed and they have been there ever since I bought this OEM (yes ik but I am too lazy to build a rig right now). For some time now I have felt and seen that the current RAM I have is not sufficient for the way I am using this PC and I have been thinking of upgrading to 32GB RAM. So now I don't know which type or what manufacturer to choose but I did find the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 32GB and tbh idk if I should go for these sticks or not This is the specs right now Otherwise idk I have been playing lots of VR so that's one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade the RAM since 1600MHz is a low number and 16GB isn't cutting it for me now in general

Hi there, I’ve looked around quite a lot and plan to continue to do so but I figured I’d post here just incase as a day has gone by and I can’t seem to find a solution. I recently bought a Lian Li O11D mini to swap cases and bought a new Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w SFX. I also got the new V2 strimmer cables from Lian Li to swap out my V1’s. +3 new fans also. That’s it for the new parts. My other parts are: Msi b650 mortar Msi 3070 ti gaming x trio Ryzen 7 7800x3D 2TB Seagate Barracuda WD SN550 512GB SeaSonic 750w Corsair 220T BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 x6 BeQuiet case fans (now 9, using 3 splitters on motherboard, but everything was fine when I used 2 splitters beforehand) V1 Lian Li strimmers 2x16GB 6000 CL30 G.Skill trident z neo I had everything connected in my new case, including new PSU and PSU cables, but my system gives me a solid red cpu and solid orange dram light. I already took a look at CPU socket but it looks fine to me, but I’m not exactly sure what it’s supposed to look like, images attached. I moved the motherboard, with cpu, cooler and ram attached, so I don’t know if they would be the cause of the problem. However, I tried switching back to my old psu and now it doesn’t work either. I also tried CMOS battery twice and neither attempt fixed it, and I also let it sit to see if it was memory training. No results so far but I thought to ask here for help. Thanks

I’m having problems with my pc since I built it a few months ago. I crashed in games after playing for some time (1 hour or up to 4 hours). Usually, it was the graphics driver crashing so I thought the GPU had problems. I reinstalled the newest drivers and even did clean reinstalls of Windows, manually installing the drivers with no internet connection. I flashed the BIOS to the newest Version (twice as a new update was released during my own troubleshooting). Problems consisted but I noticed that it was not always the graphics driver crashing, also sometimes the system would reboot with the crash and sometimes not. Thinking it might not be the GPU I reseated the CPU and started testing the RAM with Memtest86 and found errors all over the place, with and without XMP enabled. I read up on tweaking the RAM timings and used values from a guide I found online ( this website). I opted for the 6000 Hz 30-38-38-96 settings. Memtest showed no errors after, and I didn’t crash for some days (maybe I was just lucky). I started crashing again and Memtest also showed errors again. I tried testing with only one RAM stick in slot 2 at a time (they were in 2 and 4 before that). With one stick the tests had no errors even after several times. I'm using the PC with one RAM stick at the moment and no crashes since. I also stress tested with AIDA64 to maybe find out more. With two RAM sticks in and stressing everything the test failed in less than a minute. Only when stressing the GPU only and CPU (without stressing cache) only the test didn’t fail. RAM and cache only resulted in an almost immediate failure. With one RAM stick, in both cases, the test went fine stressing all the components together. I tested for 5 hours. So, I assume that it’s a hardware problem but from testing I would assume it is either the CPU or Motherboard that is having an issue, unfortunately I have no parts at hand to switch without sending either of them in. Is there something else I could try? What part is more likely to be broken? Or am I wrong with my assumptions all together? Hya! Last year I upgraded my setup, by building a new pc with parts, and since then I had all sorts of non-stop problems (system freezes, total system crash, bsods, application crashes) with this system. After I've tried numerous fixes and changes, gpu driver versions, windows installations, cmd commands, stress tests for cpu gpu or ram, bios settings, even a different Motherboard, i've concluded that my RX 6700 (non-XT) that I had at the time was the culprit (I have loads of details about this "saga" as well), thus I've RMA'd it to the shop I bought it from and got another GPU, a RX 6750 XT, and after that the system was much more stable and the problems seemed to have gone away. Until now. Last week I found the same RAM I had, at a good price, so I went ahead and bought another kit, since I wanted to get more RAM down the line anyway (I only had one 2x8GB kit in my PC until this point). RAM gets to me, I install it next to my current sticks, and theeen... disasters. On the first day I've installed the RAM I kept getting Windows Crashes and System freezes on a 2 hour cooldown. "Well shit, i guess i have bad RAM, time to RMA". So I started testing the RAM with memtest86 (since I already had the stick ready, from the "bad gpu" troubleshooting era before this), and sure enough, with all sticks installed, after letting it run for the whole night, I had the test FAIL with like 40 errors, what's curious though is that when looking at the adresses and GB sector of each error, I had errors on ALL slots, but mostly the last slot. Good. Ok let me just remove the good ram, that I had before, and run the test again only with this "bad" ram. For the purpose of easier clarity: Before this, the initial sticks were placed in slots 2 and 4, in Dual channel mode of course, and i've read it's better to have the last slot occupied to avoid some sort of "echo" effect or something related to the motherboards and the way they are designed. We will call the above configuration of occupied slots - "default". Tested the good sticks in default configuration - Passed, 0 Errors - to provide a baseline. Tested the good sticks on the other slots - Passed, 0 Errors - to check faulty slots. Tested the "bad" sticks in default configuration - Passed, 0 Errors. - huh? Tested the "bad" sticks on the other slots - Passed, 0 Errors - nah this isn't real And finally, I put all the sticks in the same configuration as I had them on the first day, when I got the errors and the system crashes, and let it run over night. - 10 Hours, 7 Passes, 0 Errors. Well, shit. I was so much in disbelief that I thought maybe the XMP profile somehow got disabled, so since it's not on OC speeds, the RAM is much more stable => no errors, but nope, XMP profile was enabled, exactly as I had it before. There's also something else, once when running memtest86, I had the PC just reboot itself without my input, interrupting the test completely... After that day and all those tests, I couldn't draw any conclusion so I just kept using the system as-is, with all RAM sticks installed. After 3 days of the system running just fine, with no problems, now they started to popup again: CS2 Crashes mid game, straight to desktop. Ready or Not crashes while in mission. Hell Let Loose crashes while playing a match. System freezes accompanied by forced reboot Windows blue screen. The Blue screen i've been getting is not quite "normal", it's only on half the screen, the rest being black, and it's very glitchy, the same section is visible like 3-4 times, on the same screen. As I'm writing this article, I kept trying to play Ready Or Not but It crashed 3 times in like 50 minutes, CS2 also crashed again today....so I capitulated. Is the RAM good for my system/cpu/mobo? - From what I've seen there shouldn't be a problem. Maybe it's a defective Mobo? Are AMD systems this bad when it comes to stability? - I've heard they have somewhat of a bad reputation, before the purchase, I didn't think so at all, but after all these months of pain, I don't know what to believe anymore... Is this maybe related to the "bad" GPU I've had? The symptoms are very very similar... maybe that poor RX 6700 had no fault... Could I have gotten "better" parts? - Yes, sure, these are not the "best" parts or brands known for the best quality or "premium-ness" of their products, but I'm not a guy who needs to play the latest and greatest on max settings. I'm a simple PC gamer, I don't mind doing optimizations getting my hands dirty and lowering settings.... Besides, it's more efficient to go for a mid-range build money-wise, the jump to high end is waay more expensive and you don't get much more "bang" for the buck. - So that's why I've chosen these parts/brands, and none of the chosen brands scream "problems" to me. They are not the best but also not the worst. Mid-range! PC Specs: System age - Hardware: 10 months, 18 days System age - OS: 5 months (I went through multiple Windows reinstalls recently...) OS*: Windows 10 22H2 x64 bit, Desktop, Retail CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5GHz CPU Cooler: ID-Cooling SE-224-XT V2 Black RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Dual Channel Kit - CMK16GX4M2D3600C18 x2 (meaning 2 of these 2x8GB kits) GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 6750 XT MOBO: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX PSU: Seasonic B12 BC Series, 80 PLUS Bronze, 750W Storage: 1x SSD WD Blue SN570 1TB(System) + 1x SSD Samsung PM981 1TB(Storage) Monitors: 1x Asus PG279Q@144Hz + 1x LG 24GM79G@144Hz, both connected to GPU, thru new Displayport cables I swear this is some Jayz2Cents troubleshooting video where he finds the weirdest most insane issues.... like that GPU Bios version mismatch.,,, I've decided to finally seek help, because I am tired, I am fed up and I don't know what to do anymore. I have no idea what is wrong with my system, it could be connected to the stability issues i've had with the "bad" GPU before, maybe the GPU wasn't even bad and it's the same problem but with different symptoms... I just want it to be over In Event Viewer on the fateful day when I first installed the new RAM, there were LOADS of DistributedCOM, Bits-Client, and also a few Kernel-Power errors:

Hi I recently bricked my motherboard after purchasing a new r7 5800x. Since I need a new mobo anyways, is it recommended to just refund the new cpu, and go am5? I was thinking this was I would atleast be better off for gaming and have more upgradability in the future. If I were to upgrade this would be what I would upgrade to. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZdL4YN

Hello everyone, I own an Asus M509DA laptop with 12GB of RAM (4GB soldered onboard + 8GB in another slot). Lately, I've been facing RAM shortages while working with large Excel files. I'm considering upgrading the additional slot to a 16GB 2400MHz RAM. Before making the purchase (which is non-returnable), I'd like to know if my laptop supports this upgrade. I'm uncertain about the maximum RAM capacity my laptop can handle. Can anyone provide guidance on whether this upgrade is compatible with my Asus M509DA laptop?

hi so i took my ram out to install my new gpu to have more room. i ended up taking the cooler off to fit the radiator in the top of the case, it's a hybrid gpu then once i put it all back it won't boot so i take my ram out and reseet. Same problem i try 1 Stick in slot 2 it works i try the other in the same slot it works so both sticks work i slots 1 ans 3 doesn't work then i try 1 stick in slot 4 does not work i'm lost here idk what to think of this any ideas ? I removed the ram profile at the start of this too

I recently upgraded to am5 so my specs are: 7800x3d, rx 6800, 32 GB ddr5 6000, b650 tomahawk wifi. I have had long boot times (62s) since the upgrade from a 5600x. I recently enabled the automatic and GPU overclock which requires a restart. After shutting off, the PC did not boot. All lights and peripherals are on. I have a light signalling CPU and ram error on MB. I reseated the ram and it did nothing. Unsure where to go as I cannot boot into windows so recovery mode or any sort of software stuff is not possible as it will not post at all.

So I have this post with suggestion I got suggested some overclocking stuff for my ram instead of getting new ones I added screenshots there and I will add them here for the changes I made, After I made these changes my PC restarted and now just loading I see nothing on the screen and the pc noise is louder than usual BASICALLY: I need to know do I force turn off my PC or what do I do now?? Here are the changes
