I just built a new rig and I had huge issues with the software. I got constant BSODs. All of my games crashed after a few minutes of gameplay (task manager reported GPU 3D usage spiked to 100% and the driver would crash). and windows just completely refused to install itself when I tried to do a clean install. I finally did the simplest solution and pulled out one of the RAM sticks and, what do you know, everything works great. Its snappy, stable, and running great (so far). My question is... why? Here are my specs: ASUS Tuf X570-PLUS WiFi 2x16GB sticks of Corsair Vengance 3600mhz RAM, Ryzen 7 5800X3D ROG STRIX 3080 10GB OC II 850W Corsair 80+Gold Samsung 970 EVO 500GB NVMe (for windows installation only) Several secondary drives ive collected and moved over for misc storage. I followed the MOBO instructions and placed the ram in the preferred A2 + B2 configuration. I reset the MOBO CMOS and loaded the optimal defaults. I also flashed the BIOS to the April 2022 version (4402 I believe) At this point, as long as my PC is working, im not going to complain, but I would much rather prefer to use all of the parts I bought. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I noticed that someone else had the exact same issue with their X570-Plus WiFi MOBO, but they were using different RAM. Thank you everyone in advance.

So I've when I built this PC it worked for an entire year without any issues: i7-10700k 2x16GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi RTX 2060 One day the RAM suddenly broke, both sticks. Randomly had bluescreens, pc crashed, memtest86 failed (individually for each stick too), etc.. I tried my broken RAM sticks in my friends pc and he instantly had bluescreens, crashes and all the issues too. I tried his RAM in my PC and it worked fine. He has 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX LP DDR4-3200. So i refunded the RAM and got brandnew 32GB Trident Z's. They instantly broke again. Same testing as before, doesnt work in friends pc either once again. I figured it has to be a mainboard issue then, so i replaced my MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi with a MSI Z590 Gaming Edge Wifi. I refunded the RAM once again, got new ones and they broke once again. Now i replaced the PSU from a 600 Watt beQuiet with a 850 Watt beQuiet, refunded the RAM once again and it broke again. Im bought the same RAM my friend has for now, since they seem to work in my PC for whatever reason. I have no clue what could be the issue at this point but i want to have 32 GB of RAM back. Do you think I can get 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance without them breaking? I hope someone can help me.

I recently took out 2 of my 4gb 3200 ram sticks out of my daily pc to put into another unit with a faulty ram problem. After running it on a different pc, i pulled both back out and installed it on my daily pc. When i try to boot it up it wont post, but after some intense cleaning it would only post with 3 sticks and cmos clearing. If it worked before, how come it wont work again? Cpu: ryzen 5 3600 Ram: 4x4gb 3200 Mobo: msi b450 tomahawk max Vga: zotac 1650 super All 4 ram sticks are from the same manufacturer with identical specifications

Hi. My friend recently bought and installed new ram Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 16GB (cmk16gx4m2e3200c16), but after installing the 2x8gb sticks, when he turned on the pc it said "a disk read error occurred". He went looking on the internet for some fixes, and changed a few things in bios (not sure what), but it didn't help, and ended up resetting bios to default. (Maybe this has something to do with changing SATA mode selection from AHCI to RAID?, but I am not sure if it would cause a problem like this, since I don't understand what this does.) Somewhere along trying to fix the problem, the "a disk read error occurred" message stopped showing, but now the boots straight to bios, with nothing but an asus logo before showing an underscore_ blinking a few times. Now I have his pc, while he's not at home, and I want to try fixing it, since i have a bit more technical knowhow than him, but am still a newbie in bios. The CPU is a i7-6700k and motherboard is Asus Prime Z270P running bios version 1205 The old ram was a single HyperX Fury DDR4 8gb stick (hx426c15fb/8), while the new ram are 2x8gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 (cmk16gx4m2e3200c16) Does anyone have an idea what has happened here? Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys, After 2 weeks of tinkering with my new build I'm officially out of ideas how to fix my issue and I need some help. Said issue - whenever I choose any of the default OC options in BIOS (DOCP I, DOCP II or DOCP Tweaked) I get a blue screen either before Windows login screen or directly after logging in. Sometimes it works for about 5 minutes and then it BSOD's. PC is stable only when Auto is selected which limits RAMs speed to 3600MHz. CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D MOBO: Asus Crosshair X670E Hero (latest BIOS 1904) RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x16GB (SKU: CMT64GX5M4B5600C36) That RAM is on the QVL list. Otherwise system is perfectly stable - no overheating, no other issues. MCR works perfectly, PBO as well and the system loads in about 20 seconds or less I think. I've already tried clearing CMOS more than a few times, flashed BIOS 3 times, did clean Windows reinstall more than 10 times. Had to do all that, because there were times when the PC was at the verge of bricking itself from all the BSOD's. Like I said I'm out of ideas - should I just overclock manually? Can someone tell me how to do that if so? Or are there other ways of fixing this? Bunch of side notes: 1. I tried changing just the memory frequency in BIOS to 5200 and 5600 leaving everything else on auto, seemed more stable, but I don't know if that's safe. I think it only crashed once with that or maybe not even at all. 2. One time I got stuck in a Blue Screen Death Loop - basically couldn't get into BIOS (not responsive) and PC crashed immidiately before Windows login screen. And it just kept doing that over and over until I turned it off and cleared CMOS. 3. Don't ask me what BSOD screen says in terms of an error info - it's a whole catalogue and it's different everytime. I've got at least ~10 different causes. 4. Corsair iCue tends to not see RAM quite frequently (RGBs not syncing and not showing, etc.) even when it's not OC'ed. It works fine for a few days and then either stops completely or sees 1 or 2 sticks. I haven't figured out if it's caused by RAM itself or just iCue acting up.

I recently bought a TUF Gaming B550m-plus motherboard from ASUS, and plenty other components and managed to build a PC which was basically new from everything other than a few components (pretty much just the storage, psu, and case remained from the previous build.) I installed windows and got to installing some apps on my new system, and everything seemed to be working pretty good, so I didn't think I'd run into any issues anywhere going forward. That is until I decided to finally go into the BIOS and turn on the DOCP settings on. As soon as i pressed save and exit, the PC would simply shut off maybe 3 or so times, and would then tell me to press F1 if i wanted to go to the BIOS settings/reset them to defaults. Whenever I'd turn off DOCP and leave the ram to run on the stock 2400mhz, the PC would boot up just fine and it doesn't seem like i'd have any issues. I got this RAM not too long ago, and i actually tested it out on my older build to see if it's defective, and after running it quickly throught the memtest and using it for about 3-4 days in my older build, it seemed to be working fine, so I didn't think there'd be any issues with this "new" PC and that RAM. The specific model is from Teamgroup, TUF Gaming alliance ram, 16GBx2 configuration rated for 3200mhz. The exact serial number (think that's what it's called?) is: TLTYD432G3200HC16FDC01. The CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X, so I figured it wouldn't have any issues running at 3200mhz with the DOCP RAM. One thing I should note is that while I DID load the DOCP on my old motherboard and CPU aswell, i tuned the frequency down to 2933mhz, because i was running a Ryzen 5 2600x, and I read somewhere that's it's most rated operating speed. Are there any ideas or suggestions on what I should do with my current config? I didn't touch anything in BIOS again after it refused to POST for the 2 times I tried doing it as I'm too scared of playing around with it, so i simply left it all running "as is" on my motherboard. The BIOS version my motherboard is running is 2803, so it's not the newest one, but I wouldn't say it's too old either.

Hello LTT community. Recently I was able to score a bargain on an Asus Rampage II Extreme + i7 920 combo, and this gave me the idea of building a secondary gaming PC around it that I could put in the living room (sure this platform is outdated and not power efficient in the slightest but it can still pack a solid punch). Anyway, I found a 4x4GB 1333MHz DDR3 kit, but there seems to be what I assume is a memory channel issue: by installing the 4 modules in the recommended configuration (so slots A2, A1, B1, C1), the BIOS would only pick up 8GB, while in Windows it would state 16GB with 8GB usable. After this I tried multiple different memory configurations while also swapping the modules around and these were the results: A1, B1, C1 --> still 8GB detected A1, B1 --> 4GB detected A2, A1, B2, B1 --> doesn't POST B2, B1, C2, C1 --> detectes the full 16GB and everything works as it should I could just use it in the last configuration, but then it wouldn't take advantage of triple channel, and I probably wouldn't be able to upgrade to 24GB in the future if I wanted to. So now I'm asking you for help: is there something I can try to do or do I just have to rule this off as a dead memory channel? I've already updated the BIOS to the latest version, reseated the CPU and checked the socket but found no bent or broken pins. I've heard some people say that excessive CPU cooler mounting pressure could cause memory issues: while I don't think I overtightened the cooler's screws, is it worth it to look into this potential solution or is it unlikely? And if it ends up being an actual dead memory channel, in your experience, is it most likely to be the CPU or motherboard's fault? I'd hope for the former since I was thinking of selling it and swapping it for a 6 core down the line anyway. Tell me what you think about this, I'm open to suggestions.

Hi, I am rebuilding my pc and swapped out the motherboard. For a couple days now I have been trouble shooting. Specs: Asus z-370 f gaming Trident z royal ddr4 3600 2080 ti i7-9700k My PC is only booting when one ram stick is in and seems to short out otherwise with it turning on, flickering, turning off, then doing it again. I have tested both sticks and all the ram ports and they all work fine when just one stick is inputted. My bios is up to date and I have played with the ram frequency and voltage to match my motherboards specification but it still wont boot with two sticks in. I have lessened the tightness of my cooler as I know that can sometimes effect the memory. I have no idea what could be causing this issue so if you have any idea please let me know. Thanks for the help!

I am looking at upgrading my gaming laptop to 16 GBs. I already have an 8 GB moduel in my laptop no idea what brand it is yet, but I was wondering is it worth buying one over the other understand that Samsung and Micron both use different processes to manufacture. In the end am probably just going to install the same 8 GB moduel in the second slot save some money that way.

So I've gotten my gaming laptop and I'm will to upgrade my RAM. Currently I have a 8 GB RAM which is single channel RAM that came from manfacture. But my main question is: Does that 8GB RAM slot hold OS or can I change the 8GB ram to x2 16GB Ram (32GB RAM - Dual Channel) ^ As I don't want to risk me losing my OS if that's the case. RAM Specs: DDR4, 3200mhz So pretty much I went on the Crucial Online Store to Scan my system to see what my system is compatible with for RAM and SSD Sata Drive. This what it came up with after the scan: ^ I know that from normal SSD that comes with laptop (512 GB) you loss OS. Crucial 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4-3200 SODIMM Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter) Internal SSD From the screenshot. I have a SAMSUNG RAM but according to a different forum MSI notebooks could fail on you based on using diffrenet type of manfacuture and latency. So I got recommended in downloading "CPU-Z". Also since I'm changing it the RAM myself and add the Sata SSD Drive myself. I found a cheap tool kit: Sharden Kit (Tool Open kit)

i have a gaming laptop, Xpg i7 9th gen, 1660 ti, atlas 157Q I recently went to tech shop and had them change thermal paste and install 8gb ram. However the guys were amateur and didn't know much, regardless the RAM and paste was installed . However ever since that i have been experiencing Extreme stutter in my games. ALL of them even those which didn't have any stutter and were really smooth. I have updated any and all drivers, BIOS everything i could, i have used ddu to uninstall amd reinstall gpu driver . Everything has failed. Games played well in beginning but then start to stutter ALOT. Any help cz this is really stressing me out now. I want to reiterate, i used to get good fps and no stutter in these games. Issue only arose after i went there. Gpu usage 100% cpu varies. Things i have tried aside from updated: I removed new ram and realised the guys had flipped the rams in slot. I put the old ram in its original slot and The games improved but after some time they started to stutter again Reinstalled RAM in another slot again same result, first no stutter then new stutter. One thing i have noticed, is before ram upgrade i used to get lag in normal usage too. I.e 70+ % ram usage meaning laptop had slowed down , but after upgrade this issue was fixed but gaming came up. Any help?

specs : cpu : i3 12100f graphic card : rtx 3050 zotac mobo : asrock b760m pro rs ddr4 psu : cooler master g600 gold ram : klevv cras x 3600mhz cl18 _ 2 x 16Gb system crashes and reboot after playing games like The last of us and cyberpunk the ram sticks are in a2 b2 slots , i put it into a1 b3 slots, it was fine for an hour untill it crashed and reboot again i tried everything : clean gpu driver uninstall and installing the latest driver , checking ram health with memtest 86 and there was no problem i tested single sticks in a1 b2 a2 b2 slots one at a time and there was no crashing i even put to sticks in a1 a2 and then b1 b2 slots . apparently it only crashes on dual channel mode then i replaced ram with 2 × 8gb corsair vengance 3200mhz cl16 and enabled xmp and there were no crashes so i thought maybe the xmp is the problem or the cpu can't handle 3600 mhz on klevv ram so i tested it at 2133 mhz and 3200mhz but it still crashes! does anyone know what is the problem with my pc?

If I boot up my PC, it takes usually 60 seconds and that is too much. On the stoplight system of Asus on the motherboard I can see, that it is because of the DRAM. The orange light on my motherboard is on. That is the indicator, that is is checking the DRAM and it takes very long. Please Help Greetings, DoggyD PS English is not my first language. I don't wanna offend anyone.

I recently gotten my ddr5 system, i7 14700K, Z790 LiveMixer, and G.SKILL Ripjaws S5 Series (Intel XMP 3.0) DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s CL30-40-40-96 1.35V, I was thinking of buying another 2 sticks to make it 64gb as the ram might not be available in the future and I want to be safe and get the 64gb for gaming in the next coming years, as I couple years ago we thought 16gb was fine but now we are using 32gb. The RAM sticks are currently 110 pounds, as if I wait and just get a fresh set of 64gb that would be even more or even the same in 3-5 years, so I'd still be spending the same amount. Would I have any weird XMP problems as it's ddr5 or will be CPU and Motherboard be able to handle the 4 sticks at XMP?

So I’ve noticed when looking at the reviews for Corsair LPX DDR4, some people say that it wont boot. Is this only applying to a specific mhz? Is there a way to know if this will boot in my system with my current parts before I order the RAM? info: motherboard: asus b450m-a ii gpu: Radeon RX 580 cpu: ryzen 5 5500

Hello, since I built my pc I have been experiencing freezes and lags although I have a good cooler for my cpu, and a decent gpu and cpu. I have tried swapping the ram, and it fixed the problem a little bit, I have thoughts that it might be my vertical gpu mount but I want to know first what the issue can be. I have'nt experienced a BSOD but after my pc has been on for a while (can change from time to time how long it takes until it does that) I also have a pretty reliable ssd that have good reviews and all my drivers are up to date too. The thing I'm a bit worried about is that my ram rgb is lagging when my pc is on heavy (but not that heavy) load, could it be the Icue software that causes this freezing and lag? Could it be the power outlet? If you want specs and temps here they are: 5700X 35-57C° 4070 28-70C° 64gb 3200mhz ram Nothing is overclocked I am reposting this because of no answers on my last post. Just a reminder if you want to see my replys and stuff make sure to follow the topic, thank you.

OK so i have Asus Tuf A15 with 16 GB RAM i am installing 32 GB kit but the bios doesn't have an AI tweaker or anywhere to mess with the mega transfer speeds. what is the workaround my ram is advertised at 5600Mt/s. any softwear that would allow me to do this from the os (win11) or a way to reflash the UI of the MoBo bios or am i just returning the sodimm lol IMG_3733.HEIC IMG_3734.heic IMG_3735.heic

Hey I just got a new motherboard and cpu and ram and the pc was working the other day but when i tried reinstalling the cpu fan the pc stopped working and now every time i turn it on i get no display but it turns on and then i get a CPU and DRAM light and then the PC reboots and keeps rebooting every 20 seconds making a bootloop. I recently got new parts and put it into my build so I got a new motherboard the b660m pro rs, new cpu the 12600kf, and DDR4 ram 16gb and I can't test if its the ram or cpu because my old rig was pretty bad I had a i7 4770, ddr3 16gb and a good motherboard if it was 2013 lol. its not the power supply i checked it its getting enough power i have a 500 watt psu and my GPU is a 1650 Super which doesn't take up much at all. I've already tried all the basics like reseating cpu, reseating ram, reseating power connectors, and clearing cmos so yeah. What do you guys think? I really hope the motherboard isn't dead or the CPU I don't mind if its the ram tho.

Hi there! I saw the Geekbench tests for the Ryzen 7 8700g and 8600G and their test platform included DDR5-6400, the thing is both APUs are caped at DDR5-5200. So my question is, is there any benefit to using faster than DDR5-5200 in the system? Also, I know the APUs are not out yet so real-life tests are out, but are there some complete tests for the Ryzen platform and ram speed? Best

Hi, I'm new to overclocking and wanted to ask why enabling the XMP profile on my RAM cause my games to crash? I have an MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max and T-Force Delta RGB 8x2 GB 3600 mHz. I've already updated my BIOS before installing my operating system and downloaded the latest drivers for my motherboard (from the MSI support website). Some other things worth noting: I use an HDD as my only drive because I have yet to purchase an NVME SSD, I have a Ryzen 5 2600X and an RX 580. Both my CPU and GPU are running on their base speed. I've only tried boosting my RAM. My friend advised me to try running my RAM on its base speed (2400 mHz) and see what happens. And surely, my games run just fine. I'm just curious if there is a way to utilize the maximum performance of my RAM without having issues.

Hi all, Which of memory speed would be best to pair with my MSi Tomahawk Max motherboard? I'm getting confused by MSi's website saying stating: 1DPC 1R Max speed up to 7800+ MHz 1DPC 2R Max speed up to 6600+ MHz 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 6400+ MHz 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 5600+ MHz I want to fill all 4 slots in the motherboard, and I was going to purchase 2 of the following (for a total of 64GB RAM): CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (2x16GB) 7200MHz CL34 Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory - Black (CMK32GX5M2X7200C34) Although based on the dot points from MSi's website, by having all 4 slots filled am I even going to get 7200Mhz? Or should I simply buy something cheaper? Thanks in advance everyone!

I recently wanted 2 x 16GB RAM from Corsair. I would've went with Vengeance RGB 6000MHz, at about 125 euros. Until I found out about this: Introducing the Lexar Ares RGB 2 x 16 RAM, 6400MHz, at about 110 euros. So 15 euros cheaper, for better performance. And in my opinion, it also looks better! This obviously comes with one (major) downside: It doesn't have a dual channel connection. But who cares! It looks awesome! Let me know what you think, but to me it's pretty much a no brainer, except for if your case isn't transparent or if you care a lot about dual channel RAM. CORRECTION: It's DDR5, so also dual channel. I'm sorry, I forgot about that

hi . I've Gigabyte B550M Arous Elite mobo paired with Ryzen 5600 and kingston fury beast (non rgb) 8*2 3200mhz total 16 gigs of ram . Now i want to upgrade to 32gigs of ram . so that will be 4 sticks of 8gbs . some are saying my mobo doesnt support xmp for 4 sticks and the rams will run at 2300mhz . so i need some accurate information before buying more ram sticks
