My friend bought a new 32GB ram kit (he had 16 before) and at first everything was fine, but after some hours some kind of memory errors came up when he started up the PC. Games crash constantly, Sound became very low quality sort of "box like". I re installed Windows for him real quick hoping it would solve the problem but it didnt help. It even got worse. I was thinking about Reseting or updating the BIOS but im not sure if that would be a right path. If anyone experienced something like this please reply.

https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb/p/N82E16820374436?Item=N82E16820374436 Is this a good deal for 7200-speed ram? Not too sure about the timings. Going to use an i5-13600k with a z790 motherboard.

Hello, I’m looking into upgrading my parents old Satellite Z830 laptop with a new cheap non-mechanical drive. They have a mechanical 128GB hd in there and it’s really slow. I’m just not sure what to look for exactly and not sure if modern drives will be compatible since this laptop is quite old. For the size anything at or above 128GB would be fine as they mostly use usb sticks for storage. Bonus recommendation: memory upgrade. They have 6GB so I thought I might as well look into upgrading to 8GB. Again, not sure what would be the optimal ram upgrade here. Budget: as low as possible since the laptop is old and I believe that any upgrade will be much better regardless of cost. Thanks in advance for the recommendations.

Hello, I have a Rzyen 7 2700x paired with 3200MHz ram which I'm trying to overclock and I'm trying to find the best cas latency for the pair. At the moment I have cl16 3200MHz but would any instabilities occour if I push it top cl14? And would it be healthy for the ram? I'm not very good with this overclocking stuff so i got a ram calculator to do it for me which is down below. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Hello, this is my first time here! My girlfriend got a new gaming pc this christmas and she has been trying a few games this past 2 days. Today we decided to try "Rust" but when she started playing it her game was constantly losing frames and stuttering. I thought this was crazy since her pc is new and also her specs are good too. I did some search online and people mentioned that it could be the ram frequency. So I decided to go into the bios and check. I'm a bit new at this so I approached it slowly. Her pc specs are: Intel core i9 12900k An rtx 4060 8gbs 64 gbs of ram, 4 of 16 ddr4 3600mhz (corsair vengeance lpx) And 2 ssd's one of 1 tb and one of 2tb. Msi mag b660m mortar max wifi ddr4 micro atx lga1700 I tried the xmp profile as some people online recommended, which set the frequency to 3600 mhz. Rebooted the pc, and it did change. Ultimately I decided to revert it back because I also read that it should match the frequency that your cpu can handle. I saw that the i9 12900k can do up to ddr4 3200. So I tried to do the custom settings and change the frequency but the options are really confusing... That this is what I need help with. It gives me a long list as the photo shows. Also I gotta add the default frequency was 2133mhz. Would love some help, sorry if my explanation isn't that good. Is my first time in a forum like this. Tried to follow the rules.

Hi, my computer is turning off underload (starting a game), reseating RAM always works, the computer boots, but everytime I want to launch any game, computer turns off and I have to reseat it again... After my computer turn off, bcs of the "load", my fans ain't spinning... only their lights are on and my motheboard light is on too. Is it more likely to be my RAM faulty or does it sound like a motherboard issue? All 16 GB of RAM shows up, their frequency shows up right and the usage seems normal... My CPU and GPU are around 50°C on idle so overheating does not seems to be the problem too... can't quite get the temperatures in-game.. bcs.. u know.. I can't launch any game rn.. Ty for any help

Hello people that are more knowledgable than me, I have recently (yesterday) ordered parts for my very first PC build, and today I have realized that my RAM might not be compatible with my Motherboard. PCPartPicker said that there is no compatibility issues, yet the support page for my motherboard says that the memory I have picked is not compatible. For reference, I will be building with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 on an MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wifi motherboard. Thanks

ram RAM Frequency is lower than it should be.
Paget96 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello, could someone please explain why my RAM frequency remains at 2133MHz even though I have 3200MHz RAM? Here are my system specifications: Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi II (https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-wifi-ii-model/) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X RAM: G.Skill 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 (https://www.gskill.com/product/165/166/1536654268/F4-3200C16D-16GTZR) I have 2x16GB RAM sticks installed in the correct slots according to the motherboard manual. In the BIOS, the RAM frequency is set to "Auto" (default). Thanks in advance. -
Hello, So as a lovely Christmas present I get the g skill trident z royal 2 x 16gb sticks which are overclockable to 3600MHz with xmp turned on. As an average person you just do it save it and boom you're fine. With my luck that's another story. When i overclock it I get bad blue screens of death and many instabilities when I load into windows 11. So I'm going to ask got some help. Can I only leave it at 2666MHz stock or can I overclock it higher and higher until I run into any other problems with it? The video shows my ram at 3600mhz and is stuck on this screen. So basically what I'm asking for is that does anyone know how to manually overclock the ram to I'm not sure 3200MHz? Any help, greatly appreciated! Also enjoy the rest of your Christmas!! 8mb.video-6dA-YMUvKvQ1.mp4

Hello, I'm currently about to build a new PC and I'm a bit confused about DDR5. {Ryzen 7800x3d} My reason here is purely aesthetic, but I don't want to see only two ram slots filled if possible. In the country where I live, I found it hard to find a 4stick ram kit, or even with fake dims. Is it safe to mix two identical kits of ram together, or it it still iffy?

Hello I'm building a new pc. Finished the entire setup, but it's not booting. Recently, I got some a dual channel 16 gig kit to replace my (at the time) current single channel kit. I added it but, it wouldn’t completely boot, staying stuck on the ROG boot up screen. I added the original stick back and everything worked fine. Two weeks after the same boot issues started occurring again. I’ve left it off, removed the cmos battery, and reseated the gpu. I just resorted to buying another kit and the same issue is going on. I’ve checked bios and it is detecting the new ram. Like I said it loads on the ROG screen infinitely but every few boot ups, It will boot up to a black screen with an hour glass that switches to a standard mouse cursor. Nothing else happens after that. If anyone can help that’d be great. Windows 11 64bit i7-9700k 2080 Super 16gb 3200mhz 850watt platinum

Specs: 3060 ti Founders Edition (for now; from pre-built) i7 14700KF ASUS Rog Strix z790-F Wireless mobo 32 gb corsair vengenance 5200 ddr5 RAM (currently one RAM stick is in whilst troubleshooting) 2TB MX500 Crucial SATA SSD (from pre-built) Corsair 850x PSU (from pre-built) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys (also posting here from Reddit as an completely stuck on what to do ) Over the past few days I have put together my first PC using some old parts from my pre-built build and others which are new. However, I've been experiencing issues. To start, my PC will POST when only one RAM stick is in. Both sticks work when they are in individually (one at a time) and in any mobo slot. Secondly, if I have one RAM stick in and boot my usb with the windows install, my PC will POST as normal with the ASUS logo appearing to go into BIOS. However, as the windows install comes up, I then get a blue blank screen and my PC turns off automatically about twenty seconds later. Sometimes, I have received three different error messages. The first two messages I have received is when I briefly see the windows install but get BSOD stating "PAGE\_FAULT IN NON\_PAGED AREA" and "Kmode exception not handled". The final message type I have received is a black screen with a "Windows boot manager" heading stating that the "digital signature for this file couldn't be verified. Status: 0xc0000428". Would anyone happen to know what issue I may be facing? At this point, I'm not entirely sure what the root cause to all these issues are; my gut says it's either a CPU (memory controller/cooler is too tight) or mobo issue. Would greatly appreciate any assistance, and apologies for the long post. Starting to go insane not knowing what could be causing this

My pc has started shutting off seemingly under load. I have no idea how to translate this wall of text into what the problem actually is. My current guess is the psu, but if one you knows what the issue is, please let me know. Thanks in advance! I have 2 rams produced on 2021 Feb and another one I purchased today produced on 2023 Aug. I purchased new one because my PC was getting slowed by low ram on my pc. Ram details DDR4-3200 8GB F4-3200C16S-8GVKB CL16-18-18-38 1.35v Intel XMP 2.0 Ready I have ram with these exact same details mentioned above. All of 3. Now the problem is that the base frequency of these rams is not 3200 but my motherboard is capable of overclocking it using XMP. So previously when I had only 2 of them, I was running them at 3200. Now if I'm trying to so the same with using this on 3rd slot, it's lowering all the way to 1833. What could be the issue here? Should I mark the product as defect and replace it? I have also tried to replace 1 of the older rams from 2 with the new one still it isn't picking up to the 3200MHZ while same is working with the older 2 rams with the same settings. okay, i have search everywhere for an anwser and didnt find anything. i had a pc with a Asus ROG STRIX Z370-F GAMING, i5-8600K, 1060 and 16G of ram in slot 2 and 4. i decided to upgrade since i couldnt run the new ARK ASA. i bought 3 things to upgrade but it came in 2 batch. i ordered a 4070 OC Ventus 3x and 32G of ram G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB), that came in first so installed it, i read that mixing different ram could cause issue so i just replaced the old ones with the new ones in the same slot. everything was working, it booted no problem. i ordered a new CPU i9-9900KF, when it came and i installed it nothing was booting, after researching i found out that i needed to uptade my BIOS to support the new CPU gen. i did it by replacing my new CPU wiht my old one and did the update, everything worked flawlessly. i went to reinstall my new CPU but when i started my pc it didnt boot, i check the led to see what the problem was, and the ram led was lighing up, so i thought i had maybe touch the ram by accident so i reinstalled it, still not working, so i decided to test every slot, this is what i discovered: Slot 1 and 2: everything works and it boots Slot 1 and 3: keeps rebooting Slot 2 and 4: keeps rebooting Slot 3 and 4: keeps rebooting only slot 1 or slot 2: everything works and boot only slot 3 or 4: doest turn on with the ram led on So i after searching i decided to say fuckoff and letting them in slot 1 and 2 since it worked fine, but i decided to do i benchmark and everything was working outstanding at a 90th percentile and more, except my ram whos at 13th percentile, i watched the video to fixed that saying to activate XMP profile, which i did, but still the benchmark says its not working as it should, so i thinks its because of the slots that im on because in my motherboard manual it recommend slot 2 and 4 for 2 stick of ram. so please help me im at a complete loss :(

So currently I have 16GB 2x8gb 1600mhz SK Hynix HMA81GU6DJR8N-XN sticks in my desktop installed and they have been there ever since I bought this OEM (yes ik but I am too lazy to build a rig right now). For some time now I have felt and seen that the current RAM I have is not sufficient for the way I am using this PC and I have been thinking of upgrading to 32GB RAM. So now I don't know which type or what manufacturer to choose but I did find the Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 32GB and tbh idk if I should go for these sticks or not This is the specs right now Otherwise idk I have been playing lots of VR so that's one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade the RAM since 1600MHz is a low number and 16GB isn't cutting it for me now in general

Hi there, I’ve looked around quite a lot and plan to continue to do so but I figured I’d post here just incase as a day has gone by and I can’t seem to find a solution. I recently bought a Lian Li O11D mini to swap cases and bought a new Thermaltake Toughpower 1000w SFX. I also got the new V2 strimmer cables from Lian Li to swap out my V1’s. +3 new fans also. That’s it for the new parts. My other parts are: Msi b650 mortar Msi 3070 ti gaming x trio Ryzen 7 7800x3D 2TB Seagate Barracuda WD SN550 512GB SeaSonic 750w Corsair 220T BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 x6 BeQuiet case fans (now 9, using 3 splitters on motherboard, but everything was fine when I used 2 splitters beforehand) V1 Lian Li strimmers 2x16GB 6000 CL30 G.Skill trident z neo I had everything connected in my new case, including new PSU and PSU cables, but my system gives me a solid red cpu and solid orange dram light. I already took a look at CPU socket but it looks fine to me, but I’m not exactly sure what it’s supposed to look like, images attached. I moved the motherboard, with cpu, cooler and ram attached, so I don’t know if they would be the cause of the problem. However, I tried switching back to my old psu and now it doesn’t work either. I also tried CMOS battery twice and neither attempt fixed it, and I also let it sit to see if it was memory training. No results so far but I thought to ask here for help. Thanks

Is there anyone who can help me set up this weird ram (custom settings) which is giving me trouble from last 3 years. It works fine for like year or so and suddenly it starts acting up. like last night, everything was working fine and now if i put one stick from each, pc works fine but it does not work with 2 sticks anymore. because of this issue i sold my other rams and went back to dual channel memory. CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: Tomahawk Max b450 (Latest bios) Rams: Corsair vengeance lpx cl 18 ( 8x2 3600Mhz) Things i have tried: - reinstalled amd chipset drive to the latest - reinstalled motherboard bios to the latest. - No XMP, everything in bios is default -Reseated CMOS -tried different memory slots for ram Please help, i'm thinking about moving to intel if this thing does not sort out.
